Pete And Doreen Hendrickson's Complete Federal Filing For 2003
Displayed below is EVERYTHING furnished by my wife and me to the IRS for our 2003 tax filing. Nothing preceded, accompanied, or followed these documents.
Note: The IRA distribution listed on the following return is not due to the fact that IRA receipts automatically amount to "income", but because the amount at stake here was insignificant compared to the trouble involved in researching the status of every company in which these third-party-managed funds had been invested-- some of which may well have been federally-connected entities. Thus, we elected to take the notice furnished by the fund manager (which characterized the distribution as "income") at its word. If the government chooses at some point in the future to inform us that we should not have treated these receipts as "income", we will be happy to amend and accept the additional refund.
Note: The <negative> numbers calculated on the return are mere (meaningless) expressions of emphasis.
Note: The corrected Form 1099 included in our filing and displayed here was created by scanning the original sent to Doreen by the 'payer', making the necessary corrections to the resulting bitmap, and then printing. Although the IRS website would appear to suggest that some special magnetic material is required, I believe that this is not a requirement at all (nor could be), but simply reflects the agency's preference.
