They just can't help pushing the envelope. Sometimes that's a good
thing...
it would mean the government's been concealing and

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fourteenth)
edition of

A Progressive Reminder Of Why The Truth
About The Tax Matters
The bad guys always serve them up to those who know
where to look
THIS PAST FRIDAY, THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION poked its finger into
everybody's eye. Without so much as a proposal of legislation to
Congress, the executive issued an diktat to every public school
across the land, whether in or out of federal territory.
The administration's edict commands all public
schools in the land to allow boys with penises intact (but
supposedly with minds so deeply fractured as to be at war with
their entire biological structure) to hang out, at their
election, in the same bathrooms and showers in which normal,
healthy girls who've done no one harm drop their pants. By the
same decree, girls without penises (but also with supposedly
fractured minds) must be allowed to hang out in the same
bathrooms and showers in which normal, healthy boys who have
done no one harm... well... hang out.
Common-sensible Americans have to be asking
themselves, "How is this possible? Does Obama have some kind of
nationwide authority to dictate bathroom policies to every union
state school-district?"
No, he does not.
What Obama does have is control over a huge amount
of everybody else's money, thanks to the 75-year-old systematic
misapplication of the income tax. That money has been used over
the years to addict every public school system in America to
dollops of sugar in the form of grants. It has also been used to
finance a huge litigation machine used to overwhelm even the
most righteous resistance to "progressive" fancies about how
Americans should behave.
Under the grant-addiction/exploitation process, a
bit of the money snookered-away from Americans is returned to
their own local institutions in exchange for lapdog compliance
with any demented notion demanded by "Uncle Sugar". These
demands are almost always for behaviors which wouldn't stand a
chance of being approved by the citizens of the affected state
in a vote. The litigation machine is trotted out to accomplish
the same result where the grant-strings aren't in place.
This manipulation of state institutions to serve
indefensible progressivist agendas is one of the key reasons so
much effort is devoted to suppressing CtC and its revelations
about the limited lawful application of the income tax. Were the
information about the tax which was successfully pushed down the
memory-hole mid-last-century and has been rediscovered in CtC
once again widely known, this despotism (and the evasion and
undermining of federalism it so often involves) would
stop dead.
SO, MAYBE THIS LUNATIC POLICY is a good thing.
Maybe this child-abusive "trans-gender" bathroom scheme, by which nihilists
seek to erode American cultural norms through the exploitation
of our liberal political traditions at the expense of vulnerable
kids whose illnesses cry out for help, not enablement, will be a wake up-call.
Maybe this will be the statist push on the envelope
that bumps a lot of Americans into abandonment of "public"
(read: government) schools. More, and even more importantly,
maybe this will bump a lot of Americans into regaining
understanding of why and how the Founders imposed meaningful
limits on the powers and reach of the federal government,
especially through
strict limits on the manner in which that government can
exercise its taxing power.
Click here to learn just how transformational that
latter benefit would be. And then spread the word and help
reacquaint your friends and neighbors with the protective
provisions of the Constitution well-known to our grandparents
but since driven out of public awareness by "progressive"
activism.
I Had A Great Meeting With Michigan's
Attorney General's Office Last Week...
Federal officials who break Michigan laws are just
common criminals in the eyes of the state
THIS
PAST THURSDAY
I HAD AN EXCELLENT HOUR-LONG MEETING with a representative of
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette. The subject was the
investigation and possible prosecution of the federal judges and
DOJ attorneys who have committed
crimes against Doreen
Hendrickson in
violation of Michigan laws.
Michigan, like every other state, criminalizes
subornation of perjury, witness tampering and coercion committed
by anyone upon anyone else. The state also criminalizes aiding
and abetting any of these crimes.
There are no exceptions in Michigan criminal law
for government officials, whether foreign or domestic. Nor are
there exceptions if the crimes are committed while "official
duties" are purportedly being performed.
In Doreen's case, of course, no actual "official
duties" were involved at all. The crimes themselves were the
objects of the acting officials.
For instance, the subornation of perjury was
itself the purported "official act" conducted when orders
were issued attempting to control Doreen's testimony.
Everything done to Doreen has always been pure crime,
committed under the mere "color of law".
A selection of Michigan statutes criminalizing
coercion of false testimony can be seen
here. As can be seen by a review of those statutes, what has
been done to Doreen is a slam-dunk smorgasbord of blatant
felonies in violation of Michigan law.
I WILL ADMIT THAT FOR ME this approach to seeking
justice for the criminal assaults on Doreen seemed a stretch.
Not that it lacked anything in theory, mind-- indeed, the
principle involved is about as straightforward as they come.
In fact, the principle involved here is among the
most basic in our American system of government overall:
federalism. This is the division of power in this country into
coexisting and competing (therefore countervailing) forces, with
the feds holding the states accountable when they are abusive to
citizens (something we are all very familiar with) and the
states doing the same to the feds in return (something we see
very little, but only because it has gone out of fashion, not
because it isn't the way things are supposed to work).
Nonetheless, I expected something of a "Huh? You've
got to be kidding!" reaction from the state. Instead, there was
no head-scratching or bemusement at all. Very gratifying.
I'M PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT how this initiative can at
least deter future abuses by arrogant and corrupt federal
officials. In order to optimize the opportunity here, I'm asking
everyone who feels the same to contact Michigan AG Bill
Schuette's office and urge a quick decision in favor of
prosecuting Doreen's abusers. Contact info can be found
here.
This is how it's supposed to work, people. It can
be made to do so, if you help.
"This balance between the National and State
governments ought to be dwelt on with peculiar attention, as it
is of the utmost importance. It forms a double security to the
people. If one encroaches on their rights they will find a
powerful protection in the other. Indeed, they will both be
prevented from overpassing their constitutional limits by a
certain rivalship, which will ever subsist between them."
-Alexander Hamilton, to the New York Ratifying
Convention, June 17, 1788*
*Villain and poltroon though he was overall, here
even Alexander Hamilton gets it right. Significantly, he does so
as part of the argument by which ratification of the US
Constitution was achieved. Thus, it is under this explicit
construction and this construction only, as to this question,
that the Constitution and the federal government which it
brought into being can exercise authority. Any exercise of power
by the federal government, or construction by any court on
behalf of such an exercise, which is contrary to Hamilton's
explanation here is without authority.
P.S. Many thanks to my excellent friends Gordon Dye
and Eric Bond, who helped make this meeting happen.

conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.

FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW I'VE HAD AN ENDORSEMENT of
Donald Trump posted
here. Things having gone the way they have, with Trump
poised to take the Republican nomination, I think
it's a good time to post a few more words on behalf of this
fellow who is the worst of all candidates with a chance at the
presidency this year-- except for all the
others:
...and as noted in the quote with which this
article opened, Trump is more interested in seeing to it
that Americans know what really happened on 9/11 than in
shielding and appeasing states and state leaders for whom
the political elite in Washington harbor an undue and
unhealthy affection.
I WANT GOOD RELATIONS with Russia; honesty about
Iran and the Ukraine; severing of the unnatural and improper
Israel/US Master/Blaster relationship; the truth about 9/11; an
end to aggressive war-making and the enrichment and empowerment
of the war-mongers; and a purge of all the connected and
entrenched deadwood in Washington. We might see some of
these things done during a Trump administration.
We also might see none of these things done should
Trump take office. But as I see things from a perspective of 40
years of close attention to the American political scene, we'll
have the opposite of each of these beneficial changes if Cruz,
Clinton, Kasich or Sanders gets into office.
Each of these alternative candidates will worsen
some or all of the things already gone so dangerously wrong in
Washington. After all, each of these alternative candidates has
been there and in power while these evils have flourished, or is
beholden to those benefiting from them.
Further, these alternative candidates, being
polished and practiced log-rollers and back-scratchers
accustomed to working with others of their own kind and
comfortable with any despicable domestic policy proposal to come
down the pike will actually get some of those domestic policies
passed into law (think "Obamacare", or "The PATRIOT Act"). The
ham-handed and doesn't-play-well-with-others Trump never will,
even should he really try (and his truly outrageous domestic
policy positions, as articulated so far, would be struck down by
the courts even if they managed to make it into law).
In sum, the alternatives to Trump are
business-as-usual-dangerous on both the foreign-policy side and
the domestic-policy side. Trump will only be effective on
foreign policy, and will tend to be effective in a good way.
There is little attractive about Donald Trump. But
he's not one of them, and that's good enough.
Go Trump.
UPDATE, MAY 16, 2016: At this point, Trump having
swept all competition for the Republican nomination off the
field, we must focus on reminding him that he's got to "dance
with the one who brung him," or next January it will be Bernie
Sanders smiling along as 'Hail to the Chief' is played. If Trump
backpedals and begins embracing to any degree the neocon foreign
policy positions which he has scorned, mocked, debunked and
denounced through the primary season he will lose the base that
got him where he is, and which is his only hope for a win in
November.
Already, troubling signs have appeared. These
include continuing harsh rhetoric concerning Iran (one area
where Trump has always been a bit out-of-tune) and some new
general fuzziness in his previously-stated intention to be
properly and responsibly neutral in regard to
Israeli-Palestinian relations.
The danger is real. Once secure as nominees,
candidates fall under a lot of pressure to begin "campaigning
toward the middle." That can mean laying down with dogs and
getting up with fleas, to the great satisfaction of the current
regime. Trump would not be the first unwanted candidate whose
inevitability has finally been recognized by the Washington
establishment, and which has its way by resorting to 'Plan B'-- "If
we can't beat him, let's seduce him into joining us. Send in the
hookers."
I hope everyone pleased at Trump's candidacy for
its repudiation of the neo-con status quo will include in all
writing on the subject admonitions making clear that their
support is strictly contingent on The Donald staying the course.
BTW, I can't help but also add this sidenote: The
efforts to attack Trump as a womanizer and overall cad by those
still expecting Hillary Clinton to be left unindicted are
astonishing in their hypocrisy, even without going to the
question of the accuracy of the charges. These folks are the
supporters, let's remember, of the "co-president" of Bill
Clinton, a credibly-alleged serial rapist and thoroughly
established adulterer, whose presidency these critics of Trump
supported vigorously and still celebrate to this day. Trump
would have to stoop pretty low indeed for these folks to be able
to honestly cast a stone in his direction...
P.S. There is an interesting website now operating
at
http://libertariansfortrump.org/. Many good articles by many
good people making arguments similar to my comments above. It's
worth a visit.
May 17- In 1902, the 2,000-year-old Antikythera
astronomical computer is discovered. In 1954, the United States
Supreme Court unanimously acknowledges that its 1896 decision in
Plessy v. Ferguson-- and numerous subsequent supporting
rulings-- were bogus judicial sophistries constructed and
maintained in service to the then-existing political power
structure (the rulings had upheld the forcible denial of access
to certain state-funded facilities by certain state citizens).
In 1973, televised hearings in the Senate on the Watergate
affair begin.
Educated, grown-up American Brendan Trainor shares
his excellent example
Mr. Vance:
Very good article on tax deductions "Are
tax deductions subsidies?" LewRockwell.com April 14,
2016.
However, unless that actress who lobbied
Congress received her salary from a federal grant or
contract of some kind, she really didn't have to lobby
Congress for her deduction. She could have simply
rebutted the presumption that her earnings were
statutory wages as declared by those who issued her a
W-2 or 1099, on her tax return, like thousands of
Americans do today.
Ms. Karas did her lobbying in 1986, so she
can be forgiven for believing that she had to travel to
Washington DC to get a deduction. However, in 1986 there
were people criticizing her understanding of the tax
laws, but due to the inability of the mainstream media
to understand them, or desire to understand them,
she may not have heard of these criticisms. Or perhaps
being someone of "New York Values", she herself did not
want to understand them.
In 2003, a libertarian in Michigan named
Peter Hendrickson wrote the book on tax deductions,
which thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of
Americans use to get the biggest deductions of all- a
100% refund of income tax withholdings, and if asked for
, social security and medicare taxes as well. All these
taxes are excise taxes, and as such cannot be laid on
unwilling participants in the free market economy.
Perhaps you would like more information on
this "biggest loophole of all?". I will send a link for
you to Mr. Hendrickson's website, called
Lost
Horizons.
Or perhaps not. Perhaps like most of the
libertarian/conservative establishment, you want to deny
the reality of how the income tax actually works. Too
bad, because then you will continue to write articles on
the tax that are of limited truth and will not advance
the cause of liberty very far. Just as the
libertarian/conservative establishment lost the biggest
tax case of recent times, the Obamacare case, NFIB vs
Sebellius, because they didn't understand the income
tax. Instead of admitting their ignorance of the tax
laws, they continue to blame Chief Justice Roberts.
Who will you blame? Despite your lack of
intellectual curiosity as displayed by your
unwillingness so far to engage this libertarian in
Michigan, thousands of Americans will find their
way to the Lost Horizons website, and the people's
knowledge will grow. When the truth becomes more widely
known, and your children ask did you speak up, what will
you tell them?

The IRS and SSA Share A Nice
Institutional Acknowledgement Of CtC
It's always gratifying when these agencies just
come right out and admit the truth...
OVER THE 12+ YEARS SINCE
CtC REVEALED the liberating truth about the income tax,
government agencies have steadily issued acknowledgements of
that truth to the real American men and women who have applied
those revelations and upheld the true rule of law. These
acknowledgements most commonly take the form of
complete refunds of every penny taken from someone under the
auspices of the tax.
But sometimes other forms of acknowledgement are
presented. Today we're going to look at one of these more
unusual varieties, an example of which was recently sent to one
of those real Americans who are standing up to enforce the
Constitution.
THE GOOD FELLOW WHO RECEIVED the unusual
acknowledgement at which we're about to look is an accomplished
upholder of the law. He has three proudly-posted victories to
his credit so far since learning the truth about the tax a few
years ago, successfully overcoming false assertions that his
earnings were subject to the income tax, and recovering
everything withheld from him in connection with that tax during
each of those three years.
But for today, this gentleman's name is going to go
unmentioned, because despite the IRS having faced the truth
concerning his earnings for each of those other years (after
subjecting each claim to the agency's routine rigorous scrutiny),
for some reason the IRS employee that began to process this
man's 2012 filing has been dragging his or her feet. A lawsuit
is in progress, and what we're going to look at is relevant to
that. Our friend doesn't want to show his hand too soon.
So, there is no name to show until this contest is
over. But the chink in the tax agency's stonewall that was
revealed a few weeks ago will be of great interest to all
nonetheless.
WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING, and to our hero's
considerable surprise, out of the blue and into the mailbox came
a notice from the Social Security Administration announcing the
IRS acknowledgment that our hero's earnings as a contractor in
2012 don't qualify as IRC-defined "self-employment income" (the
kind of contractor pay that is subject to the tax). Our hero's
educated rebuttal of the contrary "1099-MISC" assertions of his
payer, on which the tax agency had been mindlessly relying, has
prevailed.
This kind of inter-agency acknowledgement happens
constantly. But for the filer to get notice of it is rare.
The SSA's accounting of taxable earnings
used to calculate any benefits for which our friend might someday
want to apply has been reduced accordingly, of course. But even
if the gentleman hasn't already accumulated the maximum credit
(as many folks of a certain age have done long since, over years
of suffering the misapplication of the tax prior to learning the
truth) I don't think he minds...
Here's the notice:
Isn't it nice when these bureaucrats finally give
up on lying and stonewalling and just do the right thing?
Frankly, I'm as happy for the one that found the right path to
walk here as I am for our hero.

May 18- In 1302, the
militia of Bruges, a city in the Flemish region of Belgium,
massacre the troops of a French garrison quartered there to to
prevent "smuggling" and ensure that imported wool passed through
the hands of politically-connected favorites before reaching
politically-UNconnected buyers in the city. In 1631, John
Winthrop becomes the first Governor of Massachusetts. In 1917,
after only 32,000 Americans had volunteered to personally
support the Wilson administration's desire to get involved in
Europe's "World War I", the "Selective Service Act" is passed.
Despite a complete lack of Constitutional authority (and a plain
prohibition in the 13th Amendment), the act purports to
authorize conscription. Subsequently, 2,800,000 American men
were impressed into the army under the auspices of the act over
the following two years. Of those sent into battle, more than
116,000 were killed, and more than 205,000 sustained wounds but
are categorized as survivors. In 1927, a Michigan school-board
member who blames a school-funding property-tax increase for
foreclosure proceedings against his farm explodes bombs in and
near a local school, killing 45 and injuring 58. In 1974, India
conducts its first nuclear weapon test detonation.

You, like most folks, have been fooled into inadvertently
agreeing that your economic activities are exercises of
privilege, thereby allowing the tax to be applied to your
earnings. Why is this so hard for you to admit?
I GUESS THESE ACTUALLY LEAD TO A THIRD SIMPLE QUESTION: If you
really feel that all these things of which you complain are so
bad, why are you not helping more Americans understand the
nature of the tax and the ill effects of it being misunderstood
and misapplied?
Learn how and why you should ask every journalist in the
so-called "alt-media" these questions
here.
PRO TIP: By the
physics of the law, an indirect tax is necessarily a
privilege tax. Here's why:
The distinction between a
direct tax and an indirect tax is incidence. A
direct tax arises by the direct imposition of the
taxer, without any election of the taxed (other than
that of authorizing the taxing power in the first
place).
An
indirect tax arises by the taxed
choosing to to do
something by which the taxer's claim is then
created. The choice that is a valid object of an
indirect tax can't be anything done as an exercise
of an untaxable right. Nor can it be any activity of
necessity. A tax on anything done by necessity would
arise not by actual election of the taxed but simply
because the tax had been imposed by the taxer. Such
a tax, whatever it may be called, would be in actual
substance a direct tax, even if one that arose only
intermittently. Think of a tax on eating, for
example, or working, or engaging in trade with
others (all of which are things done by right as
well as by necessity, but you get the point).
What is left as the
valid object of an indirect tax is the exercise of
privilege-- something done not by right, and
therefore done by the permission of the taxer (who,
due to being possessed of an ownership right in the
thing being permitted, is entitled to claim of
portion of the proceeds when the thing is profitably
used).
"[Although the Legislature
may declare as privileges and tax as such for State
revenue purposes those pursuits and occupations that
are not matters of common right], the Legislature
has no power to declare as a privilege and tax for
revenue purposes occupations that are of common
right."
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...
PRO TIP: The
argument that a concept explicitly given a statutory
definition for purposes of this or that chapter or
"title" has the same meaning as the common word the
legislature has borrowed for its label-- which
meaning plainly didn't suit the legislature's
purposes, hence its replacement-- is a preposterous
reading of the law.
“It is axiomatic that the
statutory definition of the term excludes unstated
meanings of that term.”
Meese v. Keene
, 481
U.S. 465 (1987);
“[W]e are not at liberty to
put our gloss on the definition that Congress
provided by looking to the generally accepted
meaning of the defined term.”
Tenn. Prot. & Advocacy Inc. v. Wells,
371 F.3d 342 (6th Cir. 2004).
In light of
the actual evidence, those
who doubt or
deny the accuracy and correctness of
CtC just
because government officials make weaselly
representations against it are like the 16th-century Europeans who
were mystified by
Copernicus getting all those
astronomical predictions right even though the
church had said he was wrong.

DO YOU NOTICE THAT MESSAGE ON THE T-SHIRT being
worn by the lovely model of the 'I Stand with Doreen'
care-bracelet? It reads, THINK. It's not illegal yet!
But you know what? The charge against Doreen is an
effort by the state to make it so.
Doreen was charged, remember, with
criminally-refusing to cede control of her expressions to the
state. Now, I'll grant you that technically her thoughts would
remain her own, but if the state can dictate what everyone says,
then pretty soon that atmosphere of controlled expressions will
result in first influencing, and then ultimately controlling
what everyone thinks.
If the State gets away with establishing the
precedent that every written expression-- even just those on
testimonial instruments-- can be required to echo the state's
preferred view of things, the fate of free thinking and liberty
is obvious (and it's not good).

here to learn what to do.
Ignorance of the true nature of the "income" tax
has gagged, gutted and seduced-into-disgrace America's
ministerial community. This must change.
You're a
passenger on a riverboat that relies on regular
contributions of fuel from the passengers to
keep moving forward. You see an unsurvivable
waterfall ahead, and note a
soon-to-be-irresistible current growing stronger
each day. What does common sense suggest?
Time, unfortunately, is on the side of the
well-funded disinformation specialists
Illuminating anniversaries of this week:
May 20- In 1873, Levi
Strauss and Jacob Davis receive a patent for blue jeans with
copper rivets. In 1902, Cuba is granted limited "independence"
by the United States. In 1927, Charles Lindbergh heads for
Paris. In 1932, Amelia Earhart heads for Ireland. In 1940, the
first prisoners arrive at the Auschwitz death-camp. In 1949,
the United States "National Security Agency" (NSA) is
established (under its original name, the "Armed Forces Security
Agency"). In 1989, the Chinese state declares martial law in
the face of the growing demonstrations against government
corruption which would lead to the Tiananmen Square massacre a
few weeks later.
Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your

Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

The foreign-policy establishment marks 15 years of
failure in the War on Terror.
by Philip Giraldi
It’s been almost a decade and a half since 9/11, but
the foreign-policy establishment still cannot admit that continuous
American intervention in the Middle East has been a failure.
I recently attended
a conference entitled “Hindsight: Reflections on 15 Years of the
War on Terror.” With a wide range of highly respectable speakers, I
naively expected that the panels would conclude that the so-called
“global war on terror” had been a misguided project ab initio, that
the United States continues to repeat mistakes in its national
security policy that promote rather than discourage terrorism—and
that the terrorism threat itself has been grossly inflated for
largely political and economic reasons.
Apart from a single comment by a former U.S. Army
general who correctly characterized American involvement in the
Middle East as an overly robust response to what is in reality a
“low threat, low national interests” situation for Washington
policymakers, I was greatly disappointed. Everyone seemed to accept
without any real question the presumption that the United States has
a preemptive right to use military force to change foreign
governments, ignoring that factor as a source of terrorism and only
criticizing those actual interventions that have been badly
implemented like Iraq and Libya.
Aren't you REALLY, REALLY glad YOU'VE had
the fortitude and clarity of vision to do
the only thing that will actually make a difference by taking
control of how much of YOUR WEALTH facilitates government
misbehavior?
Now ask yourself this: Have I
really done all that I
can to urge everyone I know to also stand up
and act in the only way that will really bring about change in my
lifetime?

Even as ardent a statist as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."
May 21- In 1881, Clara
Barton establishes the American Red Cross. In 1904, the
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is
founded in Paris. In 1917, a fire consumed some 2,000 homes and
businesses in Atlanta, Georgia. Unhindered by FEMA, residents
of the city quickly recovered and rebuilt. In 1927, Charles
Lindbergh touches down in Paris after the first solo non-stop
flight across the Atlantic. In 1932, Amelia Earhart lands in
Derry, Ireland, becoming the first woman to fly solo, non-stop
across the Atlantic. In 1934, Oskaloosa, Iowa fingerprints
everyone in town. In 1961, Alabama's governor declares martial
law in response to rioting over civil rights issues. In 1981,
IRA hunger-strikers Raymond McCreesh and Patsy O'Hara die in
occupying Britain's Maze Prison. In 2010, the Japanese
government's space agency launches a solar-sail-powered
spacecraft for a flyby of Venus (which took place on December 8,
2010).

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of
politics, public policy and law; many of these works are
collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of
Mensa; an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as
well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention
delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party
organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work
Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the
Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International
Society for Individual Liberty. He is a frequent
radio-show guest on stations across the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years
before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the
rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing
activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing
division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose
and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct
supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental
authority over several hundred divisional workers. He also
ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On
rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane
pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative
force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife
and two children. He is currently working on his next
book.
