A major corporation decides to do right. We should all help.
it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying the truth for years
on end,
and everybody knows THAT would never happen...

No Such Agency!)
Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fourteenth)
edition of
CtC!

February 29- In 1504, Christopher Columbus
leverages his knowledge of a lunar eclipse due that night to awe
the Native Americans with whom he found himself into giving him
needed supplies. In 1864, an attempt by Union forces to free
15,000 prisoners of war being held by the Confederate Army,
known as the Kilpatrick-Dahlgren Raid, fails. In 1916, the
minimum age acceptable to the government of South Carolina for
work in factories, mines and mills is raised from twelve to
fourteen. In 1940, Hattie McDowell becomes the first
African-American to win an Academy Award, for her role as Mammy
in Gone With The Wind. In 1972, United States ally South Korea
withdraws just under a quarter of its 48,000 troops fighting in
the Vietnam war, as part of the "Vietnamization" policy. In
1980, Gordie Howe scores his 800th goal. In 2012, the

Further, in those comments (and after thoroughly
familiarizing yourself with

please try to move the focus to the question, and the answer to
the question, "WHY did the government ask a court to make these
patently illegal and utterly unprecedented orders?"

Polishing The Apple
Apple's resistance to the police state deserves
everyone's vocal and vigorous support
THERE IS A VERY IMPORTANT LEGAL BATTLE being fought
right now by Apple Computer on all our behalf against an
extremely dangerous rogue national "law" enforcement apparatus.
Everyone should step up and help Apple, with letters to editors,
emails and phone calls of encouragement, and instructions to
congressional representatives on the company's behalf.
Here's the background: A number of years ago a
Constitution-contemptuous "national security" and "law"
enforcement machine revved up and began exploiting the
ever-increasing use of digital equipment in order to assemble
intimately-detailed files on everyone within reach (which is to
say, everyone). To a significant degree, this "panopticon"
project involved, and relied upon, the cooperation of tech
companies like Apple, Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, as well as
many telecoms.
An effort was actually undertaken to indemnify
these private-sector co-conspirators against civil actions by
aggrieved privacy-violation victims in federal courts (in the
FISA Amendments Act of 2008). This is a measure the resort to
which illustrates that what was being asked of these folks was
understood to be illegal, and also itself illegal. As I wrote on
these pages at the time:
REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU MAY HAVE HEARD,
warrantless wiretapping HAS NOT been "authorized"...
The simple fact is, Congress hasn't got the
power to issue such an "authorization", and the
executive is prohibited from acting on such
"authorization" even when it is pretended.
The Fourth Amendment may be an enormous
inconvenience to the state (just as it is meant to be),
but it is still the law of the land, and Congress has no
power to change it, or disregard it. Nor does the
executive; nor does any court.
Similarly, Congress is legally incapable of
issuing "retroactive immunity" to telecomm felons. All
that august body can do is declare that IT won't
participate or cooperate in prosecutions of crimes it
chooses to view with favor-- or has been blackmailed
into facilitating. (It's amazing how much cooperation
can be secured from political careerists by those who
have been spying on anyone they wish for years and years
without oversight-- including, one must presume, members
of Congress...)
In fact, Congress is specifically
prohibited from even trying to supply anyone with
"retroactive immunity". Article 1, Section 9 of the
United States Constitution says: "No Bill of Attainder
or ex post facto Law shall be passed." The ex post
facto clause prohibits Congress from instituting any
change-- positive or negative-- in the legal
consequences of someone's behavior after he or she has
already acted. Equality before the law is the principle
involved: No friends of Congress get specially favored;
no enemies get specially disfavored.
Also involved is the practical principle
that actors are entitled to know the rules of the
playing field, and must, or they cannot act. To punish
anyone for engaging in behavior not identified as
punishable is conducive to paralysis, as well as
unjust. At the same time, because the risk of
punishment is relied upon by all to restrain and direct
the behavior of those with whom they deal, to decline to
punish behavior identified as punishable is equally
paralyzing.
It is also a recipe for chaos, in that it
necessitates the administration of private justice to
punish, and thereby deter, as well, bad behavior. Let's
remember that in the instant case, for example, although
the telecomm's behavior violated a number of specific
federal statutes, the offenses committed were not
committed against the federal government, but against
individual Americans. The private communications turned
over to a third party for its perusal without permission
were yours and mine.
Frankly, though, this should be a moot
point. Congress can just leave it to the President to
issue pardons if what these companies did was so
virtuous and important.
Of course, by the time the trials were over
there would be a different President than the one in
whose crimes these telecomms participated... I guess
the current gang in Washington doesn't have much
confidence in the strength of its arguments about the
righteousness of the behavior being shielded here.
Although there has been some creativity
exercised in deploying the "pardon" power in the past,
any rational construction of that power confines its
application to offenses of which the beneficiary has
been already convicted, rather than blanket pardons of
"offenses that may have been committed [during XXX] or
[in connection with XXX]". To illustrate the point with
an extreme, but therefore easily understood example,
imagine that it should be later discovered that the
beneficiary of a "blanket pardon" had committed a murder
during the relevant time or events...
The possibility that these bad actors would
be exonerated by juries isn't being considered even for
a heartbeat.
All in all, this overall oligarchic effort
to evade the Fourth Amendment, and institute and exploit
a total surveillance apparatus, is a deep dive into the
sewer and all of us that let it happen are being carried
along through the slime. But it's also just another in
a long series of pretenses during which the scoundrels
involved-- at least, the wiser of them-- are carefully
watching the rest of us out of the corner of their eyes
to see if we're going to finally rein them in and growl,
"Nice try, guys, but we haven't given you the power to
do any of that. Heel!"
If we don't, hold your breath. We'll be
going even deeper real soon.
HOWEVER, AFTER PATRIOT EDWARD SNOWDEN courageously
revealed the tip of this outrageous liberty-smothering "panopticon"
project iceberg (and after a lot of the customers of American
digital service providers/manufacturers began making clear that
they would take their business elsewhere if cooperation with the
state doesn't cease) several of the tech companies, at least,
backed away from their embrace with the devil and began
installing fairly robust encryption into communications devices
and on-line services. Apple was one of the first and most
diligent.
Apple not only installed software providing for
encryption in its I-phones, but it did so in such a way that the
company itself was out of the loop. A user who chose to encrypt
became the only one with decryption capability. No back doors,
no secret keys; real privacy and security for the paying
customer.
The police-state enthusiasts find this intolerable.
These folks, whose already thoroughly-proven real ambition is to
spy and collect detailed files on
everyone
are using an alleged interest in getting at the contents of a
phone purportedly used by one of the San Bernardino mass
shooters to ask federal judges to order Apple to help them break
into the phone. They are attempting to establish a judicial
precedent in this regard, as well as using the matter as a
stalking horse for a drive for legislation requiring the
installation of "back-doors" in any device equipped for
encryption. (I say "purported" because both of those we are told
were responsible were unfortunately killed before standing trial
or even having a chance to possibly protest their innocence.
Thus, we don't technically know for sure that the purported
perps really ARE the perps, as seems so often the case in these
periodic fear-generating "terrorist" events...)
Apple has been resisting, and hopefully, will have
appealed a magistrate's order commanding compliance with the
break-in-assistance demand by the deadline tomorrow (Tuesday,
February 23).
APPLE'S LEGAL TEAM AND ITS CEO have offered some
arguments from pragmatism on behalf of their position.
Unfortunately, these arguments are well-meant but lame. They
focus on issues like the tendency of proposed "back-doors" to
make hacking easier, and therefore compromising the security of
their customers.
The real issue, in my view, is that the prospect of
government access to whatever ends up stored on someone personal
device is little different (in fact, no different) from the
horror eerily anticipated by George Orwell, in whose '1984'
every omnipresent telescreen watched and recorded what went on
in every room or place in which it was present.
There was nothing kept from the eyes of the state,
just as is rapidly becoming the case here and now, and will be
all the more so if this push being resisted by Apple succeeds.
That's simply no way for people to live, even if one should make
it through a lifetime with such total awareness not being used
directly against one personally.
And in any event, that "total awareness" WILL be
used against everyone. It is not humanly possible for anyone in
whose hands resides the power given by such knowledge to resist
using it for their own agenda, which necessarily means using it
at the expense of your agenda.
The absurd fig-leaf of a "warrant" requirement is
just that: absurd. It is from appointees of the abusers that
these "warrants" will be sought, and in secret 9as they already
are under the "FISA" provisions. Further, the sort of invasion
of privacy of which we speak here can and will be conducted
remotely, with the victim not even knowing it has been done.
Only an inability to read the data will stop the data from being
read at the will of the state.
Which, then, is the more compelling argument?
Vulnerability to private hackers with no greater interest than
stealing your credit card info and a few dollars, or
vulnerability to those whose interest is in perpetuating
themselves in power over you and your children, suppressing
dissent, contriving cases against the rebellious and controlling
the perception of reality by those under their sway?
Think I'm being hyperbolic? Look at
the case of Doreen Hendrickson, languishing in a federal
prison for refusing government orders to declare a
government-serving belief she doesn't hold. Even without yet
quite having "total awareness" capability, the state is already
showing itself plenty corrupt enough to make every conceivable
ill-use of that kind of power.
SO, ROOT ON THE PEOPLE AT APPLE! And if you have
the ear of anyone on their team, clue them in to the "American"
arguments they really should be making along with their
pedestrian "what about the private hackers?" positions.
"I would rather suffer the inconveniences of too much
liberty than those attending too small a degree of it."
UPSTANDING COLORADAN Brian Crabb proudly shares a
new victory on behalf of the rule of law concerning the
Centennial State. On January 26, and in response to
this claim,
Brian received a complete refund of every penny withheld from
him and given over to Colorado against the possibility of him
owing a tax on his gains during 2014.
Here is Brian's refund notice, crediting the entire
amount withheld to an outstanding balance he owed in another
matter (and in regard to which Brian says,
"I owe back child support from back in 2006 so they sent the
money to my son which is fine by me. Better he has it than
them."):

YOU WILL HAVE NOTED JEREMY'S ANNOUNCEMENT IN THIS
VIDEO of his multiple victories thus far. These include IRS
acknowledgements of zero income and zero tax liability for four
years now, as well as complete refunds of everything withheld
from Jeremy and given over to Georgia during two years in
connection with the income tax.
Here is Jeremy's complete refund from Georgia of
everything withheld from him during 2011, plus interest, which
was issued on January 22:
Here is the filing that produced this victory in enforcing
the rule of law-- that is, in enforcing the actual
Constitutional provisions controlling the ability of the federal
government to assert and collect unapportioned taxes (and that
of state governments acting under federal permission to lay
claim to a portion of the same things the feds tax as "income").
Jeremy's complete refund of everything withheld
from him and turned over to Georgia during 2013, plus interest,
which was issued on December 11, 2015, can be seen below:
The filing which produced this victory for the rule
of law can be seen
here.
It will have been noted that Jeremy included an IRS
transcript for each year involved in
his Georgia filings. Both showed the IRS's own calculations and
conclusions that Jeremy had received no "income" for those years
and had no tax liability, after having examined his federal
filings for those years.
Transcripts showing the same
conclusions concerning Jeremy's examined filings for 2012 and
2014 can be seen
here and
here. The federal filings involved in all of these years can
be seen as follows:
2011,
2012,
2013 and
2014.
Jeremy is still waiting for the return of what was
withheld and given to the feds for three of these years, but the
United States has already made its admissions/acknowledgements,
so in due course those checks should arrive.
HATS OFF to Jeremy Lee, a real American and a real
man, who rises to the animating contest for freedom and rejects

courage in the morning!

Tim Kendrick has posted

on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.

Illuminating anniversaries of this week:
March 1- In 1781, the Continental Congress
adopts the Articles of Confederation. This day in 1803 is
designated as that of Ohio's admission to the union as the 17th
of the several states, but the actual congressional action on
the admission didn't take place until August 7, 1953. In 1815,
Napoleon Bonaparte returns to France after escaping his
imprisonment on Elba. In 1867, Nebraska is admitted to the
union as the 37th of the several states (36th, really-- see the
Ohio entry above). In 1872, Yellowstone becomes the first
United States park. In 1912, Albert Berry makes the first
parachute jump from an aircraft in flight. In 1932, the son of
aviator Charles Lindbergh is kidnapped. In 1941, the first FM
radio station in America begins broadcasting (WSM-FM in
Nashville, Tennessee). In 1954, Puerto Rican nationalists open
fire on United States representatives from the visitor's gallery
during a session of Congress, wounding five. In 1966, the
Soviet Venera 3 space craft becomes the first to land (by
crashing) on the surface of another planet. In 1971, the
Weather Underground sets off a bomb in a men's room in the U.S.
Capitol building. In 1974, seven suspects are charged with
conspiracy to obstruct justice in connection with the Watergate
break-in. In 2014, eight assailants armed with knives massacred
29 people and left another 140 wounded in an attack in the
Chinese city of Kumming. Predictable calls for strengthened
"knife control" laws echoed throughout statist lairs across
America.

The IRS and SSA Share A Nice
Institutional Acknowledgement Of CtC
It's always gratifying when these agencies just
come right out and admit the truth...
OVER THE 12+ YEARS SINCE
CtC REVEALED the liberating truth about the income tax,
government agencies have steadily issued acknowledgements of
that truth to the real American men and women who have applied
those revelations and upheld the true rule of law. These
acknowledgements most commonly take the form of
complete refunds of every penny taken from someone under the
auspices of the tax.
But sometimes other forms of acknowledgement are
presented. Today we're going to look at one of these more
unusual varieties, an example of which was recently sent to one
of those real Americans who are standing up to enforce the
Constitution.
THE GOOD FELLOW WHO RECEIVED the unusual
acknowledgement at which we're about to look is an accomplished
upholder of the law. He has three proudly-posted victories to
his credit so far since learning the truth about the tax a few
years ago, successfully overcoming false assertions that his
earnings were subject to the income tax, and recovering
everything withheld from him in connection with that tax during
each of those three years.
But for today, this gentleman's name is going to go
unmentioned, because despite the IRS having faced the truth
concerning his earnings for each of those other years (after
subjecting each claim to the agency's routine rigorous scrutiny),
for some reason the IRS employee that began to process this
man's 2012 filing has been dragging his or her feet. A lawsuit
is in progress, and what we're going to look at is relevant to
that. Our friend doesn't want to show his hand too soon.
So, there is no name to show until this contest is
over. But the chink in the tax agency's stonewall that was
revealed a few weeks ago will be of great interest to all
nonetheless.
WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING, and to our hero's
considerable surprise, out of the blue and into the mailbox came
a notice from the Social Security Administration announcing the
IRS acknowledgment that our hero's earnings as a contractor in
2012 don't qualify as IRC-defined "self-employment income" (the
kind of contractor pay that is subject to the tax). Our hero's
educated rebuttal of the contrary "1099-MISC" assertions of his
payer, on which the tax agency had been mindlessly relying, has
prevailed.
This kind of inter-agency acknowledgement happens
constantly. But for the filer to get notice of it is rare.
The SSA's accounting of taxable earnings
used to calculate any benefits for which our friend might someday
want to apply has been reduced accordingly, of course. But even
if the gentleman hasn't already accumulated the maximum credit
(as many folks of a certain age have done long since, over years
of suffering the misapplication of the tax prior to learning the
truth) I don't think he minds...
Here's the notice:
Isn't it nice when these bureaucrats finally give
up on lying and stonewalling and just do the right thing?
Frankly, I'm as happy for the one that found the right path to
walk here as I am for our hero.

You, like most folks, have been fooled into inadvertently
agreeing that your economic activities are exercises of
privilege, thereby allowing the tax to be applied to your
earnings. Why is this so hard for you to admit?
I GUESS THESE ACTUALLY LEAD TO A THIRD SIMPLE QUESTION: If you
really feel that all these things of which you complain are so
bad, why are you not helping more Americans understand the
nature of the tax and the ill effects of it being misunderstood
and misapplied?
Learn how and why you should ask every journalist in the
so-called "alt-media" these questions
here.
PRO TIP: By the
physics of the law, an indirect tax is necessarily a
privilege tax. Here's why:
The distinction between a
direct tax and an indirect tax is incidence. A
direct tax arises by the direct imposition of the
taxer, without any election of the taxed (other than
that of authorizing the taxing power in the first
place).
An
indirect tax arises by the taxed
choosing to to do
something by which the taxer's claim is then
created. The choice that is a valid object of an
indirect tax can't be anything done as an exercise
of an untaxable right. Nor can it be any activity of
necessity. A tax on anything done by necessity would
arise not by actual election of the taxed but simply
because the tax had been imposed by the taxer. Such
a tax, whatever it may be called, would be in actual
substance a direct tax, even if one that arose only
intermittently. Think of a tax on eating, for
example, or working, or engaging in trade with
others (all of which are things done by right as
well as by necessity, but you get the point).
What is left as the
valid object of an indirect tax is the exercise of
privilege-- something done not by right, and
therefore done by the permission of the taxer (who,
due to being possessed of an ownership right in the
thing being permitted, is entitled to claim of
portion of the proceeds when the thing is profitably
used).
"[Although the Legislature
may declare as privileges and tax as such for State
revenue purposes those pursuits and occupations that
are not matters of common right], the Legislature
has no power to declare as a privilege and tax for
revenue purposes occupations that are of common
right."
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...
PRO TIP: The
argument that a concept explicitly given a statutory
definition for purposes of this or that chapter or
"title" has the same meaning as the common word the
legislature has borrowed for its label-- which
meaning plainly didn't suit the legislature's
purposes, hence its replacement-- is a preposterous
reading of the law.
“It is axiomatic that the
statutory definition of the term excludes unstated
meanings of that term.”
Meese v. Keene, 481
U.S. 465 (1987);
“[W]e are not at liberty to
put our gloss on the definition that Congress
provided by looking to the generally accepted
meaning of the defined term.”
Tenn. Prot. & Advocacy Inc. v. Wells,
371 F.3d 342 (6th Cir. 2004).

But you know what? The charge against Doreen is an
effort by the state to make it so.
Doreen was charged, remember, with
criminally-refusing to cede control of her expressions to the
state. Now, I'll grant you that technically her thoughts would
remain her own, but if the state can dictate what everyone says,
then pretty soon that atmosphere of controlled expressions will
result in first influencing, and then ultimately controlling
what everyone thinks.
If the State gets away with establishing the
precedent that every written expression-- even just those on
testimonial instruments-- can be required to echo the state's
preferred view of things, the fate of free thinking and liberty
is obvious (and it's not good).

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word??
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
"I am a great believer in luck, and I find the
harder I work, the more I have of it."
Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.
"Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be
strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be
highly rated."
-Thomas Paine

Test Your
"Income" Tax IQ!
CtC Warrior
SanDiegoScott has put together a great little 20-question quiz

"income" tax. Test yourself, test your friends and family!
Test your accountant and tax attorney, and help them learn the
liberating truth!!
“This conjunction of an immense military establishment
and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The
total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in
every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal
government. We recognize the imperative need for this development.
Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil,
resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure
of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against
the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or
unsought, by the military–industrial complex. The potential for the
disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must
never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or
democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an
alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of
the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our
peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper
together.” — President Dwight D. Eisenhower
Dwight D. Eisenhower was a five-star general in charge
of the Normandy Invasion and a popular two-term President of the
United States. Today he would be called a “conspiracy theorist.”
Were Ike to be issuing his warning from the White House
today, conservative Republicans like Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
and Marco Rubio (R-FL) would be screaming at Ike for impugning the
motives of “the patriotic industry that protects our freedom.”
Neoconservatives such as William Kristol would be
demanding to know why President Eisenhower was issuing warnings
about our own military-industrial complex instead of warning about
the threat presented by the Soviet military.
The presstitute media would be implying that Ike was
going a bit senile in his old age, a tactic the presstitutes used
against President Reagan as he struggled to end stagflation and the
Cold War.
Now ask yourself this: Have you really done
all that you can to
urge everyone
you
know to also stand up and act in the only way that will really
bring about change in your lifetime?
Even as ardent a statist as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."
March 5- In 1770,
British troops murder five Americans in what becomes known as
the Boston Massacre. In 1836, Samuel Colt makes the first
production-model revolver, in .34 caliber. In 1933, FDR
declares a "bank holiday"-- closing all banks under United
States jurisdiction; and in Germany, the Nazis win 44 percent of
the vote in parliamentary elections. In 1940, members of the
Soviet oligarchy order the murder of about 22,000 Poles in what
becomes known as the Katyn Massacre. In 1979, Voyager 1 makes
its closest approach to Jupiter (172,000 miles).

The Willingness Of Some People To Trade Liberty For
Convenience Is Without Limit
Some Observations About Current Political Efforts
To Evade The Truth, Such As The "Fair Tax" Scheme
Warrior David
Larson shares this beautiful little farce, wryly observing that,
"Depositors have "..not lost one penny.." - OK we could agree on that simple
statement ..how about the purchasing power of
that same penny 'not lost'?"
March 6- In 1819, the United States Supreme
Court acknowledges in its ruling in McCulloch v. Maryland that
the power to tax is the power to destroy. In 1836, the Texas
volunteers defending the Alamo are defeated. In 1857, the
Supreme Court issues its ruling in Dred Scott v. Sanford,
holding that African-Americans were not persons and could not
become citizens, and that Congress could not prohibit slavery in
federal territories. In 1869, Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev
creates the periodic table. In 1899, Bayer trademarks
"aspirin". In 1951, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg go on trial for
giving nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union. In 2007, "Scooter"
Libby, Chief of Staff to former Vice President Dick Cheney, is
found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice in connection
with revealing the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame in
retaliation for her husband's having made public evidence that
the Bush administration's claims of Iraqi ambitions to make
nuclear weapons were false.
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We
seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that
feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget
that ye were our countrymen."

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of
politics, public policy and law; many of these works are
collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of
Mensa; an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as
well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention
delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party
organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work
Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the
Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International
Society for Individual Liberty. He is a frequent
radio-show guest on stations across the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years
before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the
rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing
activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing
division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose
and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct
supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental
authority over several hundred divisional workers. He also
ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On
rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane
pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative
force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife
and two children. He is currently working on his next
book.
