it would mean the government's been concealing and

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fourteenth)
edition of
CtC!

Why NSA revelations will not rouse the People, but
"ignorance tax" revelations will, and who needs to make them.
IT MAY BE THAT THEY HAVE ALL RECEIVED and surrendered to
Scarface's memo warning them to stay away from this. Or perhaps their otherwise reflexive recognition that all state
assertions are self-serving lies to one degree or another fails to operate in this one
area and they're still so deep in thrall to the scam-defending
mythology they were infected with as little kids that their
brains just turn off when presented with evidence challenging
the conditioning, like
this,
this,
this and
this.
Whatever it is, it seems that professional journalists will not write the
story of
CtC and the truth about the tax.
It seems that task falls to us,
people!
FIRST LET'S GET CLEAR on the importance of the exercise. Not
only is awakening Americans to the truth about the income tax a
matter of good neighborliness and respect for the rule of law.
Nor is it simply that sharing this truth dramatically helps
ensure that our own rights will be properly and reliably
respected when we assert them, thus helping to protect our own
financial and legal interests.
More than those independently-important reasons, awakening more
Americans to the truth about the tax is far-and-away the best
hope we have of reining in the increasingly-rogue state short of
bloody and destructive turmoil which even then may not turn out
well in the end. In fact, it may well be that nothing else will
do.
After all, other offenses of the rogue state that one might hope
would provoke a remediating reaction by the People simply don't
do the job. The problem is that too few really
FEEL the harm from those offenses.
FOR INSTANCE, WITH THE NSA violations of the
Fourth Amendment of which we have all been made thoroughly aware
over the last two years, nothing
material is being taken from anyone.
Unless you end up personally
charged with something based on illegally-collected information,
the Fourth Amendment offense against you-- though huge in
principle, and a major issue to those who see far and deeply and
have a proper appreciation of how liberty becomes threatened and
ultimately falls prey to tyranny-- is nonetheless an
abstraction.
Indeed, the chief difficulty faced by the handful
of folks who have gone into courts seeking a remedy for these
violations has been proving themselves to have personally been
victimized in any way. (The question of whether or not this is a
proper roadblock to these suits will be left for another
discussion.)
For most folks, who sadly do not see far and deep, the NSA
violations made known to us by true American heroes like Edward
Snowden, William Binney, Thomas Drake and others are
invisible and nearly meaningless. It is for this reason
that there is no escalating rash of confrontations over these
violations beautifying the American landscape like fireworks on
the Fourth of July, as there otherwise surely would be.
The same is true of most other offenses of the rogue and
unrestrained state.
We all feel the growing sense of oppression
and threat by the militarization of the police, or the executive usurpation of the war-making power, or the incursions of the state into education,
parenting, private business decisions, and so on and so forth. But precious few are
personally victimized by these things in any kind of acute fashion.
Even outside the legal system and its nuances of
"standing", very few of us are actually feeling the prick of
these thorns growing up around us all. These things are
pervasive and alarming, but at bottom they are easily supplanted
by other demands on our attention.
All of these other offenses by the rogue and lawless state can
be compared to a half-a-mill increase in your property taxes. It
may go to something you wouldn't fund given your druthers, or
even something you oppose. But the pain from that one increment
is so slight that it will not move you. It's just a tenth of a
degree increase in the frog-pot heat.
"INCOME TAX" VIOLATIONS BY THE STATE, on the other hand, are
completely different.
Everyone is palpably, immediately and unmistakably
being harmed by these offenses--
right now-- and in
the most non-abstract ways possible.
Through the "ignorance tax" scam
by which earnings not actually subject to the income tax
are treated as though they are, the injury to each victim is as
personal as a mugging. It is the music camp to which you
couldn't afford to send your kid; or the more reliable car you
need but must somehow do without; or the better nursing home for
your elderly parents, the cost of which you have earned, but
which has been taken from you to be spent by politicians and
bureaucrats, often on things that harm you in still other ways.
Then there are the misrepresentations of the legal character of
most people's activities by others in casual indifference to the
truth, and the ugly distortions of historical and legal
processes and principles being increasingly institutionalized by
state actors in their corrupt efforts to encourage those
state-serving misrepresentations. The misrepresentations
themselves are intensely personal, direct-harm-causing affronts;
the distortions by which they are encouraged more intellectual
but equally distasteful to the educated sensibility.
Consequently, the moment anyone learns about the "ignorance tax"
scam, he feels the pain. Where the NSA violations and all
the rest are slowly raising the temperature in the frog-pot, the
ignorance-tax scam has the water already at a boil. As soon as
the cognitive short-circuit in any frog's brain is repaired and
he becomes aware of what's going on with the tax scam, he jumps.
Unlike the (sadly) ho-hum reaction of many folks to the
NSA violations, once people learn of the tax violations by which
they have been victimized, they are sharply aware that they HAVE been
personally victimized-- to an enormous degree and in a
profoundly shameful manner, and without even a fig-leaf of
"security" benefits or needs for the violators to hide behind,
since the state is fully capable of being funded without the
scam if the American people really feel that it should have all
that money. These awakened victims WILL get up and do something about it.
The state knows this. Oh, how it knows this.
It is because the state knows this that the "ignorance tax" scam
is the most heavily- and monolithically-defended offense in the
catalog of rogue-state utilities deployed at the expense of
liberty and the rule of law. At the same time, though, the scam
is also the most vulnerable of any state offense to collapse in
the face of knowledgeable, focused journalism.
Without that journalism, the scam will persist. With it, the
ruinous scam will crumble and blow away like dust in the wind.
It's a shame that very few professional journalists can
understand this, whether because of the Kool-Aid, or cooption,
or sheer laziness. But so it seems to be.
Thus, we who are already equipped with the knowledge must clear
the path ourselves, as amateur as our efforts might be. Our
efforts WILL be fruitful, because as each inch of that path
appears, the odds that a pro will have a light-bulb moment (and
awaken to the fact that a Pulitzer is in the offing, and maybe
an Oscar like the one Laura Poitras just took home for
Citizenfour) will increase.
NOW I'M A RESEARCHER AND WRITER, but not a journalist. So I have
no business telling anyone how to do journalism from a
standpoint of construction or method
But I think I can offer some help in identifying WHAT
needs to be reported. I think that any story covering some or
all of these topics-- lightly or in depth-- will accomplish the
purpose of the exercise.
Here, then, are what I think are the important components of the
CtC story,
and I leave it to each of you to work them into articles and
commentaries and get them out there. I will provide links to
supporting, explanatory or illustrative material where possible
(and encourage each of you to refine, focus, supplement or
replace as your muse dictates, whether from the resources linked
here or others).
4. The dedicated, resolved liberty- and rule of law-loving
Americans who have learned the revelations and are forcing the
state to confront them-- both those with victories in hand,
posted or not, and those who have acted on behalf of the rule of
law but whose victories are still only in their hearts, so far.
5. The
troll community raised and maintained to supplement the
state's more direct efforts at subversion. An example is the
fellow recently heard on a radio show attempting to
discourage reading of
CtC
by arguing the flaws of its alleged advocacy of non-filing.
Such
misrepresentations
are wonderful evidence of the utter dearth of anything actually
challengeable in
CtC.
6. The strawmen raised by state officials, such as
these by a DOJ Tax Division attorney claiming
that CtC makes the absurd arguments that, "wages are not income" and "only federal
workers are subject to the tax", and the deliberate evasions by
coopted judges, such as in the appellate court ruling discussed
here.
IT'S BEEN SAID THAT A PEOPLE GET THE GOVERNMENT THEY DESERVE,
and no truer words have ever been spoken. The thing is, those
who sit back and leave the looking-out for their liberties and
the rule of law to others deserve the same government as those
on whom they foolishly rely.
I think we'll all agree that this has not been working well...
Put on those "Press" badges, people! We need to be monolithic,
loud and relentless.
Before long the pros will take up the effort. Then you and I can
kick it down a notch personally, and enjoy watching the snowball
steadily pick up mass and speed.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."

A Small-Business Owner Shares A Nice
Victory For The Rule Of Law
Another real American hero doing what really needs
to be done.
UPSTANDING BUSINESSWOMAN HEATHER JACKSON sent me
documentation of a nice little victory for the rule of law she
just won, and I'm happy to share it with you today. I'm going to
let Heather give you the story, just as she explained it to me
in her email; I'll just plug in the images and docs in the
appropriate places:
Hi Pete,
I would like to share what I consider a
huge victory relating to my old business. Please feel
free to share any of the PDFs. First off, to easily
reference my story, I have the numbers listed throughout
this letter that reference the PDF attachment.
Before I read
CtC or had any victories, I didn't think taxes were
constitutional or legal, but I had no idea how to fight
the IRS. Like so many people, I was scared to death of
the IRS. My solution was to write off or hide as many
wages as I could. My problem came from having employees
who I regularly reported wages on. I thought I had to go
along the game and filed W2s and 941s.
Somehow along the way, my 2011 941 and W2
didn't match up and apparently I hadn't paid the tax on
them when I filed. This of course alerted the bad guys
and they started sending me notices that I owed money.
In the beginning of 2014, they sent me a
letter (1) stating how much I owed, including interest.
I was scared and angry. I scribbled
out an uneducated letter trying to talk my way out of
it. I was just hoping it'd buy me some more time to
finish studying your book. In June, I received another
letter (2) from them, denying the legitimacy of my
uneducated response...of course.
Then a couple of days later I received a
levy notice (3)!
I was a little freaked out, but by this
time I'd had several victories, so I knew there had to
be a way to stop the levy. I spent hours searching your
site and gathering information. I was able to form a
response to send back (Letter About Levy Notice). I
also made out a response (4) to the first 2 letters from
the IRS I'd received. I also got busy correcting my W2s
with a W2c that had to be ordered from the IRS (I am
only including one W2-c, just to give readers and idea
of how each one looked). Knowing I was going to be
helping other business owners, I asked for 30 copies of
the W2-C, which they happily sent me...free of charge. I
filled in the correct W2c's and 941-x and sent it in.
[
See all the docs Heather just
listed
here. Take particular note of the clear explanation
given in the appropriate place on page 3 of the 941x, in
which Heather plainly acknowledges that her staff was
paid, while simply denying that the payments were
federally-connected, and therefore were not
tax-relevant:
]
The Levy notices stopped and no money was
taken out of my bank account after July 10, 2014, like
their letter said it would. Over the next 7 months I did
occasionally receive letters (6-10) saying they needed
more time to come up with an answer for me. haha.
I even received a long scary letter notifying me they
were still looking into the matter, but my account was
still accruing interest and it would be in my best
interest to just pay up.
Nice try bad guys. Today, I received an
account adjustment to which they are taking off all
"wages" and accrued interest and saying my balance is
NONE.
Woohoo!!! There is nothing like being
able to stand up to the government and WIN!
Heather
WAY TO GO, HEATHER! You must have missed
this memo:
'Pretty Good Privacy' is really... well...
pretty darn good!
FOR THE LONGEST TIME I had put off what I
expected to be the difficult chore of installing encryption
for my emails. Finally deciding to take this on a few weeks
ago, I was very pleased to discover that my fears were
unfounded.
Part of my concern was based on what seemed to
be not-very-user-friendly programming and help files
associated with PGP when I first downloaded and saved a copy
years ago. To my pleasant surprise, there is now a
Windows-friendly OpenSource version, easy to install and
deploy, and complete with good documentation.
Find GPG4Win
here.
If you use Thunderbird for your email client, as I do,
Enigmail is the complementary plug-in needed to go with
GPG4Win. Find it
here.
I CAN'T IMAGINE HAVING MUCH OCCASION to use
encryption, I will admit. But I don't anticipate much
occasion for needing an emergency generator, either, yet I
have one.
And maybe I WILL start encrypting routinely at
some point (for other than newsletter emailers and other
generic mail of that sort). When you get right down to it,
the reasoning offered by the PGP people is pretty hard to
argue with: Encryption is just the envelope around your
letter, and without it you're always sending your personal
words with no more privacy than is had with a postcard--
which is to say, none.
I'm ok with being nakedly public with words I
want the world to see, such as the tweets for liberty made
as part of
this project, and my
facebook posts of the same character. But I'm also ok
with going to the modest amount of trouble necessary to
maintain a little modesty otherwise.
The neighbors
have no business looking at my
laundry, whether it's easy to do so or hard. But given a
choice between relying on their fear of my disapproval, and
an eight-foot shadow-box fence, I think the fence is a
better bet.
Time, unfortunately, is on the side of the
well-funded disinformation specialists
OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE
DEMONSTRATED FAR BEYOND
RATIONAL DOUBT OR HONEST DISPUTE that for the last 75 years
the income tax has been systematically mis-administered so
as to capture far more revenue and from far more earners
than it should and would were its actual statutory limits
more broadly understood. I have further shown that this is
not because of some quirk in the law being exploited by the
IRS but solely because of the ignorance of the Americans to
whom it ends up being misapplied.
At the same time, I've
also plainly shown that the collapse of the rule of law
and metastasizing of the rogue State now threatening the
well-being of every American (and possibly the entire world)
coincides with, and results directly and exclusively from,
the onset of the mis-application of the income tax in the
early 1940s.
In short, I've shown the nature of the problem
about which every non-state-coopted pundit steadily warns,
and the nature of the solution to that problem. What's more,
I introduce, highlight, and celebrate the tens of thousands
of other American men and women who have also learned these
facts and are leading the way down the only path to that
solution.
NEARLY EVERY WEEK FOR NINE YEARS, I have shared
my posts about all these things with all of you. For the
last three years, I have copied those folks in the
(purportedly) non-state-coopted media whose email addresses
I believe I have.
At the same time, week after week the
well-financed and much more influential enemies of the
state-restraining, liberty-enhancing truth have steadily
injected more and more noise into the ether in an attempt to
drown out my signal. This means that the window of
opportunity in which the liberating truth has a realistic
chance to do its good work-- which it can only do by
becoming widely known-- is finite and narrowing.
And yet every week the acknowledgements and
desperately-needed signal-amplification offered by the
purportedly-non-coopted media amount to... nada. Zero,
zilch, radio silence.
This won't do. It also makes no sense-- unless
my emails to these folks simply aren't getting through.
There are several reasons why my emails may not
be making it. Some are as mundane as the possibility that
they are being spam-filtered away from these folks' inboxes.
It is known to me that, for instance, anyone on a pacbell,
swbell or optonline server won't receive my emails-- these
servers systematically (and apparently automatically, for
reasons known only to their programmers) reject my emails as
spam. There may be others that do the same without doing
bounce-backs to me to let me know.
Then there are darker possibilities. As
was posted here a few months ago in a letter from an
educated American who works for the City of Los Angeles,
while no other websites that might be described as "outside
the box" are known to be so treated, access to
losthorizons.com is blocked on the city's
internet-capable computers. Wikipedia won't allow links to
documents posted on
losthorizons.com. Recent additions to the ongoing
treasure-trove of revelations from the heroic Edward Snowden
have awakened us all to the possibility of other knobblings
of the same sort on a grander scale. It's also possible that
some of these folks may simply have closed their own minds.
IN RESPONSE TO THIS PROBLEM, I
am going to ask for everyone's help. Following is a short
list of publicly-available alt-media-pundit email addresses
which I have accumulated.
Because my emails do not seem to be making it
through to these folks, I'd be grateful if you were to see
if yours do. Compose your own thoughtful, courteous but
plain-spoken entreaties and admonishments to these folks
making clear to them that patriotic, activist and educated
Americans are wondering why they are not contributing their
voices on the side of the angels in this
critically-important contest between State-serving myths and
corruption and the liberating truth. Forward my emails to
them, as well.
EXPECT RESISTANCE FROM THESE FOLKS! All of them
are likely to think they already know all about the income
tax, and will have opinions based on either some theories of
their own or from the "tax honesty" community. Or they will
be standard victims of "ignorance tax" mythologies.
These folks are also likely to imagine that
they're just being told about another version of Irwin
Schiff. Some will even reflexively resort to the troll sites
and other noise generators maintained by the IRS and DOJ on
the internet and fall prey to the fallacious notion that
since I have been attacked by the government what I say must
somehow be wrong, despite all the unambiguous evidence to
the contrary. (This is as crazy as concluding that because
John Kirkiaou and Chelsea Manning are in prison, and the
government is salivating over the prospect of getting its
prosecutorial hands on Edward Snowden and Julian Assange and
Kangarooing them in as well, all the state crimes these
folks revealed must not really have happened. But believe it
or not, people can be that thoroughly conditioned to
worship the State.)
None of these folks will know a tenth of
what you know about the tax. None of them will know a
hundredth of what you know about
CtC, its history, and the ferocious campaign to keep
people like them from knowing the truth about it.
For one reason or another, I am unable to deal
with this problem myself; your help will be greatly
appreciated and may do much good. The email addresses are
all offered with disabling formatting to protect against
abuse from spiders, so to use them, please replace the "at"
with @. By the by, if you have any other addresses of the
same sort, please share them with me for addition to this
list. (For instance, I have long sought an address for Paul
Craig Roberts, whose work I esteem, and who seems to me a
very likely ally in this fight, but who I am unable to
contact, even through his website "contact form".)
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

A teacher asked
her 6th grade class how many of them were fans of Big Government.
Not really knowing what a Big Government fan is, but wanting to be liked by
the
teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for TJ.
The teacher asked TJ why he has decided to be different...again.
TJ said, "Because I'm not a fan of Big Government."
The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Big Government?"
TJ said, "Because I'm a libertarian."
The teacher asked him why he's a libertarian. TJ answered, "Well,
my Dad's a libertarian and my Mom's a libertarian, so I'm a libertarian."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, "If your dad were a moron and
your mom were an idiot, what would that make you?"
With a big smile, TJ replied, "That would make me a fan of Big
Government."
Illuminating anniversaries of this week:
March 9- In 1776, Adam
Smith publishes 'The Wealth of Nations'. In 1841, the United
States Supreme Court rules in the Amistad case that the
enslavement of the Africans who had gained control of the ship
on which they were being transported was illegal. In 1916,
Mexican General Pancho Villa attacks a detachment of the 13th
United States Cavalry Regiment in Columbus, New Mexico. In
1933, FDR sends an "Emergency Banking Act" (largely drafted by
the Hoover administration) to Congress, which is passed and
signed into law that same day. Disturbingly similar to the
current "bailout" programs, it set the stage for the
prolongation (and deepening) of the Great Depression for another
12 years (when a hands-off approach and the restoration of
sound, precious-metal-backed currency would have seen the
economy recovering on its own within 18 months to two years).
In 1945, the Allies begin fire-bombing Tokyo in a campaign that
kills 100,000-- the vast majority of whom are civilians. In
1959, "Barbie" hits the toy shelves.

Why Does The FBI Have To Manufacture Its Own
Plots If Terrorism And ISIS Are Such Grave Threats?
by Glenn Greenwald
The FBI and major media outlets yesterday trumpeted the
agency’s latest counterterrorism triumph: the arrest of three
Brooklyn men, ages 19 to 30, on charges of conspiring to travel to
Syria to fight for ISIS (photo of joint FBI/NYPD press conference,
above). As my colleague Murtaza Hussain ably documents, “it appears
that none of the three men was in any condition to travel or support
the Islamic State, without help from the FBI informant.” One of
the frightening terrorist villains told the FBI informant that,
beyond having no money, he had encountered a significant problem in
following through on the FBI’s plot: his mom had taken away his
passport. Noting the bizarre and unhinged ranting of one of
the suspects, Hussain noted on Twitter that this case “sounds like
another victory for the FBI over the mentally ill.”
In this regard, this latest arrest appears to be quite
similar to the overwhelming majority of terrorism arrests the FBI
has proudly touted over the last decade. As my colleague Andrew
Fishman and I wrote last month — after the FBI manipulated a
20-year-old loner who lived with his parents into allegedly agreeing
to join an FBI-created plot to attack the Capitol — these cases
follow a very clear pattern:
The known facts from this latest case seem to fit well
within a now-familiar FBI pattern whereby the agency does not
disrupt planned domestic terror attacks but rather creates them,
then publicly praises itself for stopping its own plots.
First, they target a Muslim: not due to any evidence of
intent or capability to engage in terrorism, but rather for the
“radical” political views he expresses. In most cases, the Muslim
targeted by the FBI is a very young (late teens, early 20s), adrift,
unemployed loner who has shown no signs of mastering basic life
functions, let alone carrying out a serious terror attack, and has
no known involvement with actual terrorist groups.
They then find another Muslim who is highly motivated
to help disrupt a “terror plot”: either because they’re being paid
substantial sums of money by the FBI or because (as appears to be
the case here) they are charged with some unrelated crime and are
desperate to please the FBI in exchange for leniency (or both). The
FBI then gives the informant a detailed attack plan, and sometimes
even the money and other instruments to carry it out, and the
informant then shares all of that with the target. Typically, the
informant also induces, lures, cajoles, and persuades the target to
agree to carry out the FBI-designed plot. In some instances where
the target refuses to go along, they have their informant offer huge
cash inducements to the impoverished target.
Once they finally get the target to agree, the FBI
swoops in at the last minute, arrests the target, issues a press
release praising themselves for disrupting a dangerous attack (which
it conceived of, funded, and recruited the operatives for), and the
DOJ and federal judges send their target to prison for years or even
decades (where they are kept in special GITMO-like
units). Subservient U.S. courts uphold the charges by applying such
a broad and permissive interpretation of “entrapment” that it could
almost never be successfully invoked.
Aren't you REALLY, REALLY glad YOU'VE
had the fortitude and clarity of vision to do
the only thing that will actually make a
difference by taking control of how much of YOUR WEALTH facilitates
government
misbehavior?
Now ask yourself this: Have I really done
all that I can to
urge everyone I
know to also stand up and act in the only way that will really bring
about change in my lifetime?
Even as ardent a statist as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."
March 10- In 1804,
France formally transfers ownership of the Louisiana Territory
to the United States. In 1831, the French Foreign Legion is
established. In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell tells Mr. Watson he
needs him. In 1880, the Salvation Army arrives in America and
begins its good work. In 1906, a coal-dust explosion kills 1099
miners in northern France. In 1922, Mahatma Gandhi is arrested
by British Indian occupation forces for "sedition" and is tried,
convicted, and sentenced to six years imprisonment. In 2000,
the NASDAQ index peaks at 5132.52.

The Academy gets one right; 'You Judge the Judges'; on
nullification as the rightful remedy; more...
I LATELY HAVE LITTLE USE FOR THE 'OSCARS' ceremony-- for some
time now it has rarely been anything but a smarmy Hollywood
circle-jerk in which bad political messages set to film are made
much of while over-paid performers get another dose of excessive
exposure and adulation that should be reserved for people who
have actually done useful and important things. But this year's
event was different, because this year, 'Citizen Four' won the
award for Best Documentary Feature.
Well deserved, Laura Poitras. Well done, Academy.

WARRIOR ROB TERRY has written a nice commentary on the liberties
taken (a perfect use of this expression) by Judge Gerald Rosen

with the substitution of prosecutor-written fake definitions of
statutory terms in the kangaroo-court show trial to which I was
subjected in 2009. He calls it, 'You Judge the Judges', and

THE TENTH AMENDMENT CENTER SAYS, Nullification is the
Rightful Remedy:
***
SAY, HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN ANY THOUGHT to
what will happen when 30 million other Americans-- or even just 3
million-- learn what you
know about the "income" tax and begin following your example of
acting to protect your own interests and uphold the law?
THERE'S THIS THING CALLED "TWITTER"... What an
off-putting name! I'm a man of what I fear is quickly becoming "the
old school", and I have great difficulty imagining myself
"tweeting"...
But as most of you probably know far better than I do,
Twitter is an amazing way to communicate with a huge number of
people-- at least, if one's "tweets" get attention and are shared by
others. As of July of 2014, there were more than 645 million Twitter
participants. Out of respect for this reality, I opened
a
Twitter account some time ago, and actually "tweeted" newsletter
post announcements for a little while last year.
Anyway, I am a million miles from being knowledgeable
about how this media tool can best be used. But from within the
limits of my understanding, it seems to me that right now would be a
good time to try to make use of it, and that if everyone who has an
account (or who can take a few moments
to open one)
goes to
my account and clicks the "follow" button, and then begins posting the following tweets (and "re-tweeting"
mine and everyone else's
posts and replies), something important might be accomplished.
Each of the following tweets are within posting lengths
and ready to simply copy and paste into a "new tweet" field:
Send any or all of these prepared tweets, or make your
own. Just pick a link from the
Site Map and add the hashtag #TheTruthAboutTheTax and some text
that you think will intrigue. You can even use
https://hootsuite.com/
or to schedule tweets to be sent automatically at various times of
day.
If you add a hashtag from another existing
tweet-thread, your tweets will go to everyone following that thread,
too. Those folks will then not only see your tweets, but also be
able to engage with the #TheTruthAboutTheTax thread themselves.
For instance, there is a hashtag "#Tax" currently in
use. If you add that tag to a tweet from the list above (or one of
your own of a similar sort), you can get your tweet in front of
everyone in the other thread as well as the
#TheTruthAboutTheTax thread.
Such a tweet would look like this, for example:
You can see what hashtags are "trending" (that is,
getting LOTS of views) on the left side of your twitter account
page. If any appear at any point which seem a reasonable fit (they
change from time to time), use those as the add-ons to maximize the
impact. (Keep in mind that if you add a hashtag, you may need to
shorten the message in order to keep within the 140-character limit.
The same issue may arise when you re-tweet, if the system adds a
reference to the original tweeter such as "@losthorizons1".)
You can also target tweets to specific recipients by
becoming a follower of that person, and then using the "reply"
function on any tweet you receive from that person. Further, you can
also try to get tweets seen by specific recipients even without
being able to reply by including that person's twitter address in
your tweet. For
instance, if I post a tweet like this:
...Glenn Greenwald will have the tweet show up in his
"mentioned" folder (although unlike a reply, it is not so certain
that it will be seen).

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing
that ever has."
-Margaret Mead
P.S. After first inviting everyone to
participate in the important outreach/education project laid
out above, I received a disturbingly large number of
expressions very hostile to (or paranoid about) social media
in general. I want to take a few moments for some comments
on this subject.
I am aware of the widespread disinclination
toward social media. Indeed, I share that disinclination,
both as to its use as a public billboard for all manner of
what I regard as more properly private details of one's
life, and as to its hazard as a handy and easily abused
repository of personal information. It is the latter concern
that motivates those explaining why they have deliberately
not participated in my "twitter project", many of whom have
heard for years that, in fact, "facebook", for instance, is,
in part at least, an NSA creation.
I can't speak to the origin of "facebook" with
any authority. But I can apply a little logic and say that
having a facebook page is only a breach of personal
information security to the degree that the page is used as
a billboard for things better kept private.
As you surely are all aware, there is a
LostHorizons facebook page. I created it a few years
ago, and with rare exceptions, the only thing ever posted to
it are weekly newsletter update announcements. Those
announcements are received by (at the moment) 899 people who
otherwise might never be aware of them, since many of those
who live in that [facebook] world simply don't use email
anymore at all.
Because I only post what I do, I need have no
concerns about security. Nothing is there to be data-mined
against my wishes, and it is not a log of my comings and
goings and daily activities and events, as is true of those
who treat a facebook page as an online diary to which
everyone has a key.
Twitter doesn't even have the potential
for the hazards of facebook. Twitter is oriented to
notational text posts and nothing else (more CAN be posted,
within strict limits, but the interface doesn't invite
them). Twitter accounts can be anonymous-- go to the library
(or download and install the
Tor
browser) and open a gmail account, then use it to open a
twitter account with a fake name, if you like.
But even if anonymity were not possible, the
remedy for any security concern is simply to not post
anything in an undisciplined fashion. And even if anonymity
were not possible, and some kind of inchoate security hazard
were inevitable, there is still good reason to use these
media for certain purposes.
Twitter, at least, has great power as
an outreach tool. As noted above, there are (as of July of 2014)
645,750,000 users of Twitter. Read that number again:
more than 645 million!
To inflexibly avoid the use of a tool like
Twitter for fear of being noticed is to put a gag in your
own mouth, and ensure that the liberating, law-supporting,
state-restraining truth that you are able to share will
never benefit from the weight of your testimony and support
in the powerful way that it could and should. You can't
score goals if you don't take shots, and you can't take
shots if you don't take the field.
I HAVE A TERRIBLE CONCERN that many in this
community aren't boldly taking the field and boldly taking
their shots. Doing so amounts to nothing more complicated
than diligently and unapologeticly spreading of the webpages
and other files linked from
http://losthorizons.com/SiteMap.htm, but many may not be
doing this due to fears of being noticed. Being noticed may
be a legitimate expectation, but so what?
Of course the lawless state, the bane of which
is sunlight and the truth, will do everything it can to
discourage you from shedding that sunlight and spreading
that truth. But just as "of course", you must do it!
Further, to not do that spreading through
social media when possible is to lose the amazing benefit of
the "six degrees of separation" reality.
I hear from everyone (and especially those who
say they will not use the social media) about efforts to
spread the word to anyone that can be button-holed, and
everyone within a circle of acquaintances. These efforts are
great, important and very much should go on.
But those one can buttonhole, and those within
one's circle-- even within one's circle of email
correspondents-- make up a very limited,
non-organically-expanding target. While someone to whom you
email might choose to pass your email along, they might not,
too.
The genius of the social media is that your
messages can be found by others without you or anyone else
having to do anything, and more, as you develop a body of
contacts, their contacts come with them, to a greater or
lesser degree. Six degrees of such contact inter-linkings
and you're speaking to pretty nearly EVERYONE.
Further still, by NOT using social media for
these education and illumination efforts is to leave a huge
number of young Americans-- many of whom would leap at the
chance to do something meaningful just for the glory and the
adventure of it if they knew it was there to be done--
languishing in the darkness and burning up their real hero
energy playing fake heroes in video games because too few
light-bearers go where these young people keep their ears
and eyes.
BOTTOM LINE: Please don't stay off the soapbox!
As I said in my controversial email the other day, you have
one of the most sought-after prizes of modern American
history to offer. Shout it loud and proud, and damn the
torpedoes.
"It does not take a majority to prevail... but
rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting
brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
March 11- In 1708,
Queen Anne of Great Britain vetoes the "Scottish Militia Bill"
for fear the militia thus authorized would be unreliable in its
subservience to the crown. It is the last time that a British
monarch has exercised the veto power against an act of
Parliament. In 1918, the first confirmed cases of the "Spanish
Flu" pandemic are observed in Queens, New York. Over the next
two years, somewhere between 20 million and 100 million will die
from the disease worldwide-- mostly young adults, due to an
idiosyncrasy of the strain's effect on its host. In 1985,
Mikhail Gorbachev assumes power in the Soviet Union. In 1990,
Patricio Aylwin is sworn in as the first democratically-elected
president of Chile since 1970. In 1993, Janet Reno is confirmed
as United States Attorney General by the U.S. Senate. In 2014,
after a massively lopsided referendum vote in favor by the
resident population, Russia re-annexes the Crimean peninsula.
The
most important question facing Americans today
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE: The People impose restraint on the rogue
state by choosing-- one by one-- to cease voluntarily turning
control over their resources to the state, and choosing instead to
retain control over those resources. This is done by refusing-- one
by one-- to engage in "income tax" excisable activities (and
refusing to blindly or fearfully allow their activities to be
treated or taken as excisable activities upon which the tax arises,
when they really are not).
The refusal of individual Americans to voluntarily engage in
excisable activities forces the state to resort to
highly-politically-accountable, highly-politically-vulnerable
alternatives revenue sources. These include options like direct,
apportioned taxes (which will not be tolerated by the people or
approved by Congress at $multi-trillion annual volumes), and/or
increased revenue tariffs (which can raise amounts adequate for
legitimate state needs, but are very self-regulating, since
consumers naturally choose domestic product alternatives when higher
tariffs raise the prices of imports beyond a certain point).
This solution is precisely the one intended and provided for by the
Founders-- who didn't impose the taxation rules in the US
Constitution just so they could admire their handwriting. They put
those rules in place in direct anticipation of state behavior of the
sort with which we are now plagued.
As even so odious a character as Hamilton pointed out in Federalist
#21:
“Imposts, excises, and, in general, all duties upon articles
of consumption, may be compared to a fluid, which will, in time,
find its level with the means of paying them. The amount to be
contributed by each citizen will in a degree be at his own
option, and can be regulated by an attention to his resources.
...If duties are too high, they lessen the consumption; the
collection is eluded; and the product to the treasury is not so
great as when they are confined within proper and moderate
bounds. This forms a complete barrier against any material
oppression of the citizens by taxes of this class, and is itself
a natural limitation of the power of imposing them.”
What we've got today is simply the direct (and perfectly
predictable) consequences of NOT adhering to the Founders' plan. As
Frederick Douglass trenchantly observed,
“Find out just what any people
will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the
injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them."
We've got plenty of injustice and wrong these days. But our fix to
the problem was bought for us with blood a few hundred years ago.

If You're Not Standing Up, Then You're Standing Down
...and "standing down" means "going down"...
MY FRIENDS, IT IS MY SINCERE BELIEF that this community of
activists has been encouraged, inspired, enlightened and
expanded over the years by the steady posting here of
your ongoing victories on behalf of the rule of law.
Certainly, it has been my pride and my joy to help you share
with the world your honorable testament to the liberating truth
about the tax, widespread knowledge of which is so critical to
the well-being of ourselves, our children, and our beloved
America.
However, unless YOU send those victories I can't post them.
Unless YOU stand up, your courage and commitment can't inspire
anyone.
YOU WILL RECALL THAT FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO I've been telling
you that we are in a transformational moment. Look around at
what is going on today and recognize the truth of what I say.
Even before Edward Snowden's documentation of particular crimes
being committed against the American people the
LA Times,
NY Times,
Washington Times and other mainstream organs were
editorializing about Leviathan having grown too big, and gotten
dangerously out-of-hand (see stories at each of the preceding
links). In the Spring Rand Paul's filibuster denouncing the
lawlessness of Mordor-on-the-Potomac prompted a major buzz
across the country, and in July Justin Amash shocked Washington
by very nearly defunding a huge portion of the illegal
surveillance state's crimes.
Concurrently, this
CtC community has been winning legal victories and refunds
which are ever-more significant and telling. Consider, for
instance, the victories which have qualified for
the EWWBL collection. Every one of these is an especially
illuminating acknowledgement of the truth about the tax, and now
include a very significant two-time victory in a federal
district court.
Things are happening!
HHOW IT ALL SHAKES OUT is still up for grabs, though. This is not
the time for either complacency or paralysis, because both of
those don't amount to "doing nothing"-- instead they amount to
"standing down". And standing down means conceding the fight,
letting all these eleventh-hour sparks of light burn out
unnurtured and the moment be a transformation for the worse.
This is not the time for standing down. This is the time for a
