No Such Agency!)
Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fourteenth)
edition of

...THE SUPREME COURT IS EFFECTIVELY "INFALLIBLE" in
its legal opinions. So, when that court says:
"[B]y [capitations and other] direct taxes
in the constitution, those are meant which are raised on the
capital or revenue of the people; ... paid directly from,
and falling immediately on, the revenue;..." "[Capitations
are taxes in which people are rated] according to what is
supposed to be their fortune, by an assessment which varies
from year to year;"
"[T]he Sixteenth Amendment did not authorize
any new type of tax, nor did it repeal or revoke the tax
clauses of Article I of the Constitution, quoted above.
[Capitations and other direct] taxes were, notwithstanding
the advent of the Sixteenth Amendment, still subject to the
rule of apportionment…;"
"If [a] tax is a direct one, it shall be
apportioned according to the census or enumeration. If it is
a duty, impost, or excise, it shall be uniform throughout
the United States. Together, these classes include every
form of tax appropriate to sovereignty. Whether the [income]
tax is to be classified as an "excise" is in truth not of
critical importance [for this analysis]. If not that, it is
an "impost", or a "duty". A capitation or other "direct" tax
it certainly is not;"
"…taxation on income [is] in its nature an
excise...;" and
"...the requirement to pay [excise] taxes
involves the exercise of privilege,"
Are you a sensible, grown-up American; a fit
inhabitant of the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave?
Or are you fit only for the New World Order, in
which those who connive their way into positions of power in the
State apparatus rule you, morning to night-- "authorized" by
virtue of your ignorance of the law to take from you what they
wish and give of your hard-earned to themselves and their
cronies, clients and co-conspirators?
Seriously, do you respect the law or don't you?
If not-- if you've not stood up to recover your
wealth, and if you aren't doing all that you can to shake your
neighbors awake to the individual-liberating, State-restraining
truth about the tax, why is that?
Is the mere sense that some officials are
apparently willing to commit crimes all that it takes to resign
you-- and your future and your children's future-- to the whims,
caprice and corruption of those who live handsomely off your
sweat (and thus will never stop unless you make it
happen)?
Isn't that rather like waking up to discover you're
being drained of blood by a giant parasite and deciding not to
move for fear you'll anger the beast...?
To put it another way, ISN'T THAT CRAZY??!!
Isn't it just as much crazy to convince yourself to
lie quietly for your consumption by imaging that there must
be something good for you in the situation, because...[enter
your comforting delusion here]? Or because you hear the beast
muttering into your ear over and over, "I have been authorized
to take your blood... I have been authorized to take your
blood... I have been..."?
You've just seen (if you hadn't seen it before)
that the highest court in the land says the beast has NOT "been
authorized". And frankly, if you wake up enough to listen really
closely, you'll hear that the beast is REALLY saying, "I have
been authorized to take your blood... under
certain circumstances which I presume apply here since you
haven't said otherwise..."
I tell you, my friend, this is WAKE UP TIME!
We're already thirty-one days into the
three-and-a-half month period during which the beast fills out
its menu for the rest of the year. This is the time when you can
sign up--
either by outright declaring your earnings to be what tax law
calls "income", or by standing silent like a box-of-rocks as a
"non-filer"-- for a long slow blood-letting
during which you get weaker and the ever-hungry beast gets
stronger.
But it is also the time when you can rebut the
presumptions of the beast and sign out of the incremental
abattoir. That is, it's also the time when you can choose to
keep yourself whole and hale-- dignity, self-respect and
blood-supply intact-- by just saying "No!"
And you know what happens when you do? The dynamic
flips. You get stronger while the dangerous beast gets weaker.
Nine out of ten lawyers will tell you that when it
comes to the law, the Supreme Court's words are the gospel. So,
pay them heed. You'd be crazy not to...
***
IN THE END, it is YOU who decides whether you're
going to authorize the evil little totalitarian fiction that the
state has an automatic claim to everyone's earnings, and gets to
decide how much each person keeps for himself, for his family's
needs, and for his own security.
It is YOU who empowers the state as the arbiter of
how much of your wealth and hard work gets handed over to the
politically-connected class on Wall Street, or to the armaments
industry, or to the prison industry, or to the welfare
industry-- and how much goes to pay for the hard work of handing
out all that money to these cronies and clients.
As long as YOU play along, that's how it goes, and
when it goes that way, you've no right to even complain.
AT THE SAME TIME, OF COURSE, it is also YOU who can
decide to step back up into the sunshine of respect for the
truth and the rule of law, including the Constitutional limits
on federal taxing power and practices. That's what the CtC
Community is all about-- courageous, committed individual
Americans, actually taking meaningful steps to restore the
republic.
As I noted above, right now America is in another
season of truth or lies. Right now, YOU have the chance to
choose.
PLEASE. Use your power, make your choice, and honor
the sacrifices made by your ancestors to give you the freedom to
do so.
Or..., don't.
Keep hoping someone else is going to come along and
fix everything, so that you don't have to pipe up or get up.
That's surely easier, and it seems safer, of
course-- as appeasement and conflict avoidance always do.
BUT, HOW'S THAT BEEN WORKING FOR YOU?
"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It
never did and it never will. Find out just what any people
will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the
injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them, and these
will continue till they have been resisted with either words or
blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the
endurance of those whom they suppress."
-Frederick Douglass
And is it going to be better or worse when you face
this question again next year, if you do the wrong thing now?
Are the bad guys going to be weaker, or stronger after you've
given in to them for another year?
More American Heroes Standing Up And
Saying, "NO!"
JON AND CYNTHIA ARGUST have risen to their
responsibilities as grown-up Americans. Jon and Cynthia
understand that it's on them, and have chosen against silence
and subordination and in favor of liberty and the rule of law.
Having learned what the income tax actually falls
upon as provided in the law (contrary to the misunderstanding
successfully cultivated in most Americans by a revenue-hungry
and restraint-hating state over the last 75 years) Jon and
Cynthia have claimed back everything withheld from them and
given over the the federal government during 2013-- Social
Security, Medicare and all:
These good folks are standing with the Founders and
the Supreme Court in re-asserting their control over how much of
their fuel feeds the furnaces in Washington and
benefitting all of society with their share of the restraint on
the state which is critically necessary for everyone's enjoyment
of freedom, prosperity and security.
BILL AND DELLA CHENEY ARE STANDING, TOO. Like Jon and Cynthia,
and all the rest of the CtC-educated community of activists,
Bill and Della have put their weight on the brake pedal
engineered into the central state's charter by wise and prudent
Framers:
Among the only things left to chance by the Framers in their
careful design of a proper and functional government was an
unavoidable reliance on the character of their heirs. Bill and
Della have proven worthy of that faith.
AND JAY A. IS LIKEWISE PROUDLY AND
HONORABLY within the ranks of America's true heroes, defending
and upholding the Constitution in the only way that actually
works-- with concrete action. Jay has claimed and
recovered everything withheld from and given over to the feds
during 2012:
...with
this filing (made in November, 2014, which
is why no interest payment was added to this refund by the
Treasury).
JON, CYNTHIA, BILL, DELLA and JAY are among
tens of thousands of American grown-ups who are already on
their feet and in action on behalf of their rights and their
heritage. You should be, too

Which State Outrage Are You Most Pleased
To No Longer Be Paying For?
I'M TAKING A LITTLE POLL, PEOPLE! As an active
CtC-educated American, you are no longer a cooperating
financial participant in every usurpation, assault on good sense
or the rule of law, corruption, scandal or crime committed by
Leviathan at home and around the world. I want to know which
offensive behavior you are proudest to no longer be a part of.
Is it no longer being a party to the NSA's
wholesale violation of your neighbor's Fourth Amendment rights
that puffs your chest the most? Is it having withdrawn your
support for extrajudicial killings? Maybe it's the fact that you
are no longer paying to militarize your local police department?
Perhaps you get the most satisfaction from taking
your name off the list of supporters for Common Core? Perhaps
it's for closing your wallet to the nanny-state, or the welfare
state, or the warfare state-- or all three? Or is it that you've
stopped propping up dictators in other lands; administering
Obamacare here at home; and pushing Agenda 21 everywhere?
WHETHER ITS ANY OF THOSE THAT DOES IT FOR YOU, or
simply no longer paying for Keynesian economists in the White
House, an unlimited CIA budget, and drinks for the presidential
entourage every time it comes to town and snarls traffic all
day, I want to know.
Your answers will help in the crafting of important
new outreach tools (and thinking about the question might help
you produce some nice outreach tools of your own)! So please
participate in this poll about stuff in which you no longer
participate.

I WAS REFLECTING THE OTHER DAY on the underlying
assumptions of principle involved in federal prosecutions of
what are really non-federal offenses (however much the feds have
invented a selection of "civil rights" violations in order to
get in and make political points on stuff that is really purely
local). You know the sort of thing I mean-- like the "civil
rights" prosecutions of the California cops involved in the
Rodney King beating (the virtues of which I am not challenging
here-- though I was not present at any of the related trials, it
seemed to me that crimes were indeed committed that evening).
I found my mind traveling around to the other side
of that coin. Why, I wondered, do we seldom (if ever) hear of
the states prosecuting the crimes committed by federales?
Think about nominal federal actors (by which is
meant actors purporting to act in the capacity of federal agents
exercising federal authority) who violate one or more laws of
the state in which they act. At first blush it will be imagined
that the "supremacy clause" of the US Constitution shields these
actors from the state's laws, but I'm speaking of actors
NOT acting pursuant to any legitimate federal statutory
authorization.
For instance, in every state
of the union there are criminals violating state eavesdropping
laws day in and day out, and they are NOT doing so pursuant to
any federal law by virtue of which the "supremacy clause" might
be invoked in their defense. There IS no federal law which
authorizes warrantless eavesdropping, searches or seizures.
Shouldn't state or county governments be vigorously prosecuting
these crimes?
Consider threats of harm for failing to testify in the
government's interest, or for making claims on one's own behalf
which the government doesn't like (such as by the assertion of a
"frivolous tax return penalty" for declaring a belief that one's
activities are not subject to the income tax, or failing to
declare a belief that they are). This is plainly extortion, and
a crime in every state of the union-- as are the violations of
speech and due process rights which are part and parcel of the
offense. No federal law actually authorizes these acts (nor
could any do so, since the Constitutional violations involved
make it impossible for there to be any valid law to this
effect).
Shouldn't those responsible be arrested and
prosecuted by the state or county in which the crimes are
perpetrated? The feds aren't going to do it, and these crimes
are perfectly amenable to prosecution outside of the federal
courts, notwithstanding the jurisdictional provisions of Article
Three of the US Constitution. After all, the "United States" is
not actually a party to the matter, since the crime doesn't
involve any actual exercise of federal authority, but merely the
pretense of such authority.
IN THE TITLE OF THIS ARTICLE I REFER TO
"FEDERALISM" and here's why: Inherent in the nature of
"federalism"-- a compact of sovereignties-- is the structural
diffusion of power between competing interests. In our
Constitutional design, federalism leaves separate spheres of
authority to the United States and to the union states, in which
each is the guardian of the citizenry against the other.
Our Constitutional federalism, properly understood
and implemented, does not allow any action assertedly or
nominally pursuant to authority delegated to the United States
to simply go unquestioned. Nor are
any actions assertedly or nominally pursuant to authority
delegated to the United States meant to
be only tested or challenged by axiomatically-biased United States
judges (who are as likely as not to also be, or become, parties
to the offenses).
Nor are offenses committed in nominal or asserted
pursuit of United States authority solely subject to remedy by
the inherently slow, cumbersome and unreliable political
process. Indeed, the "political process remedy" has already been
undertaken. It is the process by which we separated spheres of
authority, laid down prescriptions and proscriptions on the
United States and the union states, and wrote it all down as the
US Constitution, leaving to each distinct government the
authority to define, determine and prosecute crimes committed
within its territorial jurisdiction.
FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS NOW THERE HAS BEEN MUCH
VIRTUOUS INTEREST in "nullification"-- the process by which
states nullify federal enactments they deem unconstitutional.
Generally this is thought of as the process of refusal to
implement or enforce such unlawful enactments, such as in the
refusal of 26 states to implement "Real ID" ten years ago.
Less popularly discussed is the obligation of "interpositioning",
under which the states are duty-bound to step between the rogue
United States and its victims, and defend the latter from the
assaults of the former. "Interpositioning" is a scary prospect
to state governments, but its mandate as a natural and necessary
principle under our Constitutional structure is of the same
order as that of nullification (both of which were articulated
in the same
foundational documents by Jefferson and Madison in response
to the first major unconstitutional federal enactments-- the
Alien and Sedition laws). We have seen a beginning of this
virtuous process in a few states considering bills to
criminalize efforts to enforce federal laws with regard to
entirely intra-state objects.
What I am advocating here is related to
nullification and interpositioning, and partakes of the same
principles. But is also simpler than either, and less
confrontational. After all, warrantless eavesdropping IS a crime
under state laws. Extortion IS a crime under state laws. Neither
are even nominally authorized under federal law, nor could be,
considering the specific Constitutional prohibitions of such
behavior.
Prosecuting crimes by those falsely purporting to
act under the mantle of federal authority needs no action by a
state's legislature, and calls for no face-down between federal
and state agencies. It's just basic law enforcement. If those
accused are actually empowered to act as they have done, then
they will be vindicated by their juries, as they should be. If
not, then they will pay the price, as they should.
Time, unfortunately, is on the side of the
well-funded disinformation specialists
OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE DEMONSTRATED FAR BEYOND
RATIONAL DOUBT OR HONEST DISPUTE that for the last 75 years
the income tax has been systematically mis-administered so
as to capture far more revenue and from far more earners
than it should and would were its actual statutory limits
more broadly understood. I have further shown that this is
not because of some quirk in the law being exploited by the
IRS but solely because of the ignorance of the Americans to
whom it ends up being misapplied.
People's ignorance is certainly being exploited
by the IRS, of course. But as written, and as interpreted by
the courts and the tax agency itself, the law is perfectly
clear and entirely on the side of most Americans. Even while
corrupt elements in the government have engaged in
strenuous efforts
to
create a facade of opposition to what
CtC reveals and thus
shore up the ignorance regime (such as is exposed
here,
here,
here,
here and
here), and even while some folks are unfortunately
targeted for
annoying and sometimes protracted resistance to their claims
before they are honored, nearly every person who simply
learns how to stop the tax from being misapplied in his or
her own case and acts accordingly has been enjoying
proper acknowledgement and capitulation to the truth by
federal and state tax agencies since 2003.
At the same time, I've
also plainly shown that the collapse of the rule of law
and metastasizing of the rogue State now threatening the
well-being of every American (and possibly the entire world)
coincides with, and results directly and exclusively from,
the onset of the mis-application of the income tax in the
early 1940s.
In short, I've shown the nature of the problem
about which every non-state-coopted pundit steadily warns,
and the nature of the solution to that problem. What's more,
I introduce, highlight, and celebrate the tens of thousands
of other American men and women who have also learned these
facts and are leading the way down the only path to that
solution.
NEARLY EVERY WEEK FOR NINE YEARS, I have shared
my posts about all these things with all of you. For the
last three years, I have copied those folks in the
(purportedly) non-state-coopted media whose email addresses
I believe I have.
At the same time, week after week the
well-financed and much more influential enemies of the
state-restraining, liberty-enhancing truth have steadily
injected more and more noise into the ether in an attempt to
drown out my signal. This means that the window of
opportunity in which the liberating truth has a realistic
chance to do its good work-- which it can only do by
becoming widely known-- is finite and narrowing.
And yet every week the acknowledgements and
desperately-needed signal-amplification offered by the
purportedly-non-coopted media amount to... nada. Zero,
zilch, radio silence.
This won't do. It also makes no sense-- unless
my emails to these folks simply aren't getting through.
There are several reasons why my emails may not
be making it. Some are as mundane as the possibility that
they are being spam-filtered away from these folks' inboxes.
It is known to me that, for instance, anyone on a pacbell,
swbell or optonline server won't receive my emails-- these
servers systematically (and apparently automatically, for
reasons known only to their programmers) reject my emails as
spam. There may be others that do the same without doing
bounce-backs to me to let me know.
Then there are darker possibilities. As
was posted here a few months ago in a letter from an
educated American who works for the City of Los Angeles,
while no other websites that might be described as "outside
the box" are known to be so treated, access to
losthorizons.com is blocked on the city's
internet-capable computers. Wikipedia won't allow links to
documents posted on
losthorizons.com. Recent additions to the ongoing
treasure-trove of revelations from the heroic Edward Snowden
have awakened us all to the possibility of other knobblings
of the same sort on a grander scale. It's also possible that
some of these folks may simply have closed their own minds.
IN RESPONSE TO THIS PROBLEM, I
am going to ask for everyone's help. Following is a short
list of publicly-available alt-media-pundit email addresses
which I have accumulated.
Because my emails do not seem to be making it
through to these folks, I'd be grateful if you were to see
if yours do. Compose your own thoughtful, courteous but
plain-spoken entreaties and admonishments to these folks
making clear to them that patriotic, activist and educated
Americans are wondering why they are not contributing their
voices on the side of the angels in this
critically-important contest between State-serving myths and
corruption and the liberating truth. Forward my emails to
them, as well.
EXPECT RESISTANCE FROM THESE FOLKS! All of them
are likely to think they already know all about the income
tax, and will have opinions based on either some theories of
their own or from the "tax honesty" community. Or they will
be standard victims of "ignorance tax" mythologies.
These folks are also likely to imagine that
they're just being told about another version of Irwin
Schiff. Some will even reflexively resort to the troll sites
and other noise generators maintained by the IRS and DOJ on
the internet and fall prey to the fallacious notion that
since I have been attacked by the government what I say must
somehow be wrong, despite all the unambiguous evidence to
the contrary. (This is as crazy as concluding that because
John Kirkiaou and Chelsea Manning are in prison, and the
government is salivating over the prospect of getting its
prosecutorial hands on Edward Snowden and Julian Assange and
Kangarooing them in as well, all the state crimes these
folks revealed must not really have happened. But believe it
or not, people can be that thoroughly conditioned to
worship the State.)
None of these folks will know a tenth of
what you know about the tax. None of them will know a
hundredth of what you know about
CtC, its history, and the ferocious campaign to keep
people like them from knowing the truth about it.
For one reason or another, I am unable to deal
with this problem myself; your help will be greatly
appreciated and may do much good. The email addresses are
all offered with disabling formatting to protect against
abuse from spiders, so to use them, please replace the "at"
with @. By the by, if you have any other addresses of the
same sort, please share them with me for addition to this
list. (For instance, I have long sought an address for Paul
Craig Roberts, whose work I esteem, and who seems to me a
very likely ally in this fight, but who I am unable to
contact, even through his website "contact form".)
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

her 6th grade class how many of them were fans of Big Government.
Not really knowing what a Big Government fan is, but wanting to be liked by
the
teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for TJ.
The teacher asked TJ why he has decided to be different...again.
TJ said, "Because I'm not a fan of Big Government."
The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Big Government?"
TJ said, "Because I'm a libertarian."
The teacher asked him why he's a libertarian. TJ answered, "Well,
my Dad's a libertarian and my Mom's a libertarian, so I'm a libertarian."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, "If your dad were a moron and
your mom were an idiot, what would that make you?"
With a big smile, TJ replied, "That would make me a fan of Big
Government."
Illuminating anniversaries of this week:
February 9- In 1737,
Thomas Paine is born. In 1775, the British Parliament declares
Massachusetts to be in rebellion. In 1861, Jefferson Davis is
elected Provisional President of the Confederate States of
America. In 1889, the USDA is established as a cabinet-level
federal agency. In 1942, Daylight Savings Time goes into effect

the United States States Department to be riddled with
communists. In 1965, the first United States ground combat
troops begin making their way to South Vietnam (there had been

The stage is set, the actors have committed their lines
to memory, and the curtain is now rising: the Great Iran Debate is
on! It’s a war story, as so many of our national narratives are
these days, one pitting the President of the United States – and the
overwhelming majority of Americans –
against the US supporters of a foreign government, a "fifth
column," if you will.
This debate underscores an amazing fact: not since
the war of 1812, when the New England Federalists sided with
Great Britain against their own government, has a fifth column
wielded such power in this country. As President Obama seeks to
avoid war with Iran – what would amount to World War III in terms of
its
military and
economic consequences – the
fifth columnistsin our
midst, ensconced in some of the highest councils of government,
are actively undermining his efforts to avoid catastrophe. Unlike
subversives of the past, however, whose treason was found hidden
in pumpkin patches and took cover in the darkest corners of the
State, these proclaim their allegiance to a foreign government
quite openly.
The administration’s negotiations with Tehran over
Iran’s
nonexistent nuclear weapons program have been extended beyond
the deadline for success
twice now, reflecting the eagerness of both sides to reach some
kind of agreement. Neither wants war: but there are those who do. In
a demonstration of how radically different societies nonetheless
share overarching patterns of human folly, both the Americans and
the Iranians face pretty much the same conundrum at home: how to
overcome the influence of their hardliners in order to avoid a war
that would surely be the ruination of both. In this sense,
our neoconservatives and their Republican
sock-puppets are mirror images of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps (IRGC),
both of which are trying their damnedest to sabotage the talks.
Not that the neocons are pro-IRGC, except in the sense
that they share the same fanatic mindset: in making their case
against even the faintest possibility of peace, they
echo the arguments made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu, who has declared that Iran represents an "existential
threat" to the Jewish state and conjures images of a Second
Holocaust to make his rather unsubtle point.
Aren't you REALLY, REALLY glad YOU'VE
had the fortitude and clarity of vision to do
the only thing that will actually make a
difference by taking control of how much of YOUR WEALTH facilitates
government
misbehavior?
Now ask yourself this: Have I really done
all that I can to urge everyone I
know to also stand up and act in the only way that will really bring
about change in my lifetime?
Even as ardent a statist as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

grandmaster (Garry Kasparov).

THE OTHER DAY A READER SENT ME A NEW TROLL-POST
recently put into circulation in the annual effort to dissuade folks
from reading
CtC. The government frantically pumps this stuff out at
this time every year,
hoping to prevent the arising of more informed Americans during the
critical red-pill/blue-pill period between January and April during
which folks either agree to another blood-letting, or don't.
These efforts are all of similar character. They either
simply cite to court rulings purporting to dispute things presented
in
CtC, or offer their
own
strawman knockdowns.
All share the characteristic of failing to explain why,
if what they say or allude to is true, the tax agencies across the
country haven't caught on and stopped issuing all those
heavily-vetted, and sometimes
strenuously-resisted refunds over all these years. None of these
purported disputations actually transcribe verbatim passages from
CtC for critical
analysis; instead all merely offer alleged summaries of portions of
the book, and then "dispute" only what the disputer claims the book
to have said or meant.
Pretty shabby stuff. But of course, these strawman
mendacities will work on anyone who doesn't know that they are just
strawmen mendacities, and especially those who cling to child-like
delusions that government officials are pre-disposed to honesty and
integrity, even in the face of their own self- or
institutional-interest. I encourage everyone to stay familiar with
the posts
here and
here, and to be pro-active inoculators of the public against
these germs of dis-information during especially the next several
months.

CtC
WARRIOR WALTER HELFRECHT shared something from an outfit called
the "Government Contract Registry" earlier this week. I don't know
whether to call this amusing or interesting or what-- I'll let you
decide how you feel about it (while acknowledging upfront that this
is presented by the GCR as part of a marketing pitch, not a formal
declaratory statement of any kind):
"The Federal Government is, first and foremost,
a business. They (sic) spend more than $57 million
per hour."
This is how things are seen by all those snufflers at
the trough vying for influence in Mordor-on-the-Potomac. Maybe
having it so plainly stated will help dis-illusion some of those
Americans who still put the State on a saintly pedestal and imagine
its claims and demands as altruistic and worthy of deference and
special respect...

I SAW AN ARTICLE IN OUR LOCAL PAPER LAST WEEK about a
couple arguing that all children should be banned from their kid's
school unless vaccinated against measles. Their child is in
remission from leukemia, and cannot himself be safely vaccinated. So
everyone around the child should be dosed in order to prevent him
from possibly encountering a carrier, goes the argument.
Of course, the logical extension is that everyone in
the family's church must also be vaccinated or barred from services
to pick one example; and what about strangers at the mall, or his
gymnastics class, or every restaurant in town?
The madness and insidious evil of this argument is
mind-boggling, but found no acknowledgement in the newspaper article
or the local TV news reports on the story. Nor was any appearance
made of the obvious answer to this child's dilemma in light of
everyone else's rights (not to mention even just simple economic
considerations): homeschool the child, and keep him otherwise
isolated to the degree the parents feel necessary until his
infirmity is passed.
It will be argued that this is tough on the kid (by
those who don't know the joys and other amazing benefits of
homeschooling). But the real tragedy lurking in this story is in
the call by this kid's family for
bankrupting society as a whole in a selfish and entirely futile
effort to escape the fact that life is unfair.

SAY, HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN ANY THOUGHT to
what will happen when 30 million other Americans-- or even just 3
million-- learn what you
know about the "income" tax and begin following your example of
acting to protect your own interests and uphold the law?
THERE'S THIS THING CALLED "TWITTER"... What an
off-putting name! I'm a man of what I fear is quickly becoming "the
old school", and I have great difficulty imagining myself
"tweeting"...
But as most of you probably know far better than I do,
Twitter is an amazing way to communicate with a huge number of
people-- at least, if one's "tweets" get attention and are shared by
others. As of July of 2014, there were more than 645 million Twitter
participants. Out of respect for this reality, I opened
a
Twitter account some time ago, and actually "tweeted" newsletter
post announcements for a little while last year.
Anyway, I am a million miles from being knowledgeable
about how this media tool can best be used. But from within the
limits of my understanding, it seems to me that right now would be a
good time to try to make use of it, and that if everyone who has an
account (or who can take a few moments
to open one)
goes to
my account and clicks the "follow" button, and then begins posting the following tweets (and "re-tweeting"
mine and everyone else's
posts and replies), something important might be accomplished.
Each of the following tweets are within posting lengths
and ready to simply copy and paste into a "new tweet" field:
Send any or all of these prepared tweets, or make your
own. Just pick a link from the
Site Map and add the hashtag #TheTruthAboutTheTax and some text
that you think will intrigue. You can even use
https://hootsuite.com/
or to schedule tweets to be sent automatically at various times of
day.
If you add a hashtag from another existing
tweet-thread, your tweets will go to everyone following that thread,
too. Those folks will then not only see your tweets, but also be
able to engage with the #TheTruthAboutTheTax thread themselves.
For instance, there is a hashtag "#Tax" currently in
use. If you add that tag to a tweet from the list above (or one of
your own of a similar sort), you can get your tweet in front of
everyone in the other thread as well as the
#TheTruthAboutTheTax thread.
Such a tweet would look like this, for example:
You can see what hashtags are "trending" (that is,
getting LOTS of views) on the left side of your twitter account
page. If any appear at any point which seem a reasonable fit (they
change from time to time), use those as the add-ons to maximize the
impact. (Keep in mind that if you add a hashtag, you may need to
shorten the message in order to keep within the 140-character limit.
The same issue may arise when you re-tweet, if the system adds a
reference to the original tweeter such as "@losthorizons1".)
Be prepared to dialogue with
respondents, answer questions, reassure skeptics and correct trolls,
but remember that everyone can step in to help with these tasks, so
they won't fall on you, personally, any more than you want.
Should be fun, and with any luck, this will do a lot of good for a
lot of folks in a very short period of time.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing
that ever has."
February 11- In 1808,
anthracite coal is tested for use as a fuel. In 1812,
Massachusetts governor Elbridge Gerry introduces the practice of
redrawing legislative districts for the political advantage of
the party currently in power. In 1861, in an effort to stave
off the dissolution of the union, the United States House of
Representatives unanimously passes a resolution guaranteeing
non-interference with slavery in any state (this was futile, as
the secessionist movement was mostly over the inequities of
federal tax policy). In 1937, General Motors ends a 44-day
sit-down strike by recognizing the United Auto Workers union.
In 1941, the first 'Gold Record' is won by Glenn Miller's
'Chattanooga Choo Choo'. In 1990, Nelson Mandela is released
after 27 years in prison in South Africa. In 2006, Dick Cheney
shoots his attorney in the face with a shotgun while hunting
quail. In 2011, US-backed Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak
resigns after 30 years in power in the face of massive popular
protests against his regime.
The
most important question facing Americans today
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE: The People impose restraint on the rogue
state by choosing-- one by one-- to cease voluntarily turning
control over their resources to the state, and choosing instead to
retain control over those resources. This is done by refusing-- one
by one-- to engage in "income tax" excisable activities (and
refusing to blindly or fearfully allow their activities to be
treated or taken as excisable activities upon which the tax arises,
when they really are not).
The refusal of individual Americans to voluntarily engage in
excisable activities forces the state to resort to
highly-politically-accountable, highly-politically-vulnerable
alternatives revenue sources. These include options like direct,
apportioned taxes (which will not be tolerated by the people or
approved by Congress at $multi-trillion annual volumes), and/or
increased revenue tariffs (which can raise amounts adequate for
legitimate state needs, but are very self-regulating, since
consumers naturally choose domestic product alternatives when higher
tariffs raise the prices of imports beyond a certain point).
This solution is precisely the one intended and provided for by the
Founders-- who didn't impose the taxation rules in the US
Constitution just so they could admire their handwriting. They put
those rules in place in direct anticipation of state behavior of the
sort with which we are now plagued.
As even so odious a character as Hamilton pointed out in Federalist
#21:
“Imposts, excises, and, in general, all duties upon articles
of consumption, may be compared to a fluid, which will, in time,
find its level with the means of paying them. The amount to be
contributed by each citizen will in a degree be at his own
option, and can be regulated by an attention to his resources.
...If duties are too high, they lessen the consumption; the
collection is eluded; and the product to the treasury is not so
great as when they are confined within proper and moderate
bounds. This forms a complete barrier against any material
oppression of the citizens by taxes of this class, and is itself
a natural limitation of the power of imposing them.”
What we've got today is simply the direct (and perfectly
predictable) consequences of NOT adhering to the Founders' plan. As
Frederick Douglass trenchantly observed,
“Find out just what any people
will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the
injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them."
We've got plenty of injustice and wrong these days. But our fix to
the problem was bought for us with blood a few hundred years ago.

If You're Not Standing Up, Then You're Standing Down
...and "standing down" means "going down"...
MY FRIENDS, IT IS MY SINCERE BELIEF that this community of
activists has been encouraged, inspired, enlightened and
expanded over the years by the steady posting here of
your ongoing victories on behalf of the rule of law.
Certainly, it has been my pride and my joy to help you share
with the world your honorable testament to the liberating truth
about the tax, widespread knowledge of which is so critical to
the well-being of ourselves, our children, and our beloved
America.
However, unless YOU send those victories I can't post them.
Unless YOU stand up, your courage and commitment can't inspire
anyone.
YOU WILL RECALL THAT FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO I've been telling
you that we are in a transformational moment. Look around at
what is going on today and recognize the truth of what I say.
Even before Edward Snowden's documentation of particular crimes
being committed against the American people the
LA Times,
NY Times,
Washington Times and other mainstream organs were
editorializing about Leviathan having grown too big, and gotten
dangerously out-of-hand (see stories at each of the preceding
links). In the Spring Rand Paul's filibuster denouncing the
lawlessness of Mordor-on-the-Potomac prompted a major buzz
across the country, and in July Justin Amash shocked Washington
by very nearly defunding a huge portion of the illegal
surveillance state's crimes.
Concurrently, this
CtC community has been winning legal victories and refunds
which are ever-more significant and telling. Consider, for
instance, the victories which have qualified for
the EWWBL collection. Every one of these is an especially
illuminating acknowledgement of the truth about the tax, and now
include a very significant two-time victory in a federal
district court.
Things are happening!
HHOW IT ALL SHAKES OUT is still up for grabs, though. This is not
the time for either complacency or paralysis, because both of
those don't amount to "doing nothing"-- instead they amount to
"standing down". And standing down means conceding the fight,
letting all these eleventh-hour sparks of light burn out
unnurtured and the moment be a transformation for the worse.
This is not the time for standing down. This is the time for a
FULL-COURT PRESS./p>
This is the time for educated American grown-ups to stand up

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of
politics, public policy and law; many of these works are
collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of
Mensa; an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as
well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention
delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party
organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work
Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the
Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International
Society for Individual Liberty. He is a frequent
radio-show guest on stations across the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years
before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the
rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing
activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing
division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose
and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct
supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental
authority over several hundred divisional workers. He also
ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On
rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane
pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative
force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife
and two children. He is currently working on his next
book.
