The despotically-inclined have found that no one will stand up against them when
"public health" is the pretense du jour. But, c'mon, people!
August 10- In 1792, French revolutionaries storm the Tuileries
Palace and take King Louis XVI into custody. In 1995, Timothy McVeigh and Terry
Nichols are indicted for the Murrah Building bombing in Oklahoma City. In 2006,
liquid and semi-liquid toiletries are banned from commercial airflights.

HEY, People! Please don't just

to affirm your sense of things. I post in order to equip you with
perspectives and arguments with which to

Racism Is NOT A "Public Health" Issue
But ambitious governors emboldened by your failure to push
back against "lockdowns" and "mask-mandates" are taking the next logical
step through the opening you have given them.
C19 "LOCKDOWNS" AND MASK-MANDATES BY STATE GOVERNORS are
all illegal, as I have shown with
sample analyses of eight
state constitutions which all expressly prohibit the "executive
orders" by which the offenses are committed. However, so far no one--
not a single business owner, nor a single legislator in any of these
states or any other-- has had the balls to defy the illegal orders and
tell any of these criminal governors to shut up and stand down.
The reason would appear to be that claiming a big- and
dire-sounding threat like a "public health crisis" as the
hob-goblin
grounds for the illegal government behavior, and portraying it as
universally-recognized as a deadly peril by all the right people,
muddies the water in many peoples' eyes. That packaging makes insistence
on a close look at the details, and being slow to quaff the Kool-Aid,
seem practically unpatriotic.
It then becomes difficult for such people to reject
assertions of authority, however black and white the law. They think,
"Well, somebody's got to do SOMETHING! Don't you know there's a
virus goin' 'round?!!"
Defending against precisely this sort of panic-induced,
easily-exploited passion of the mob is what was spoken of by James
Madison when he said,
"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our
liberties. We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of
Citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the late Revolution.
The free men of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened
itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw
all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences
by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much soon to forget
it."
Unfortunately, modern Americans have forgotten this wisdom,
and so...
THE NEXT STEP FOR THESE WEAK-MINDED FOLK is to head for the
mental "off" switch and begin mumbling nonsense like, "After all, the
Constitution's not a suicide pact..." The "reasoning" is that the only
answer to the crisis du jour is despotic action by the state,
and therefore such action is ok.
It never occurs to these people, and wouldn't slow them
down anyway, to reflect on the fact that it is only by virtue of the
Constitution involved that "the state" can claim authority to do
anything. Upon stepping outside the state Constitution's limits,
a governor is not governor of anything,
and has no more authority to mandate masks or shut down businesses than
does your Uncle Jim.
Nor would such folks ever imagine that a crisis could be
addressed by anything other than the state (something about which those
doing nothing on any of several fronts concerning offenses by the state,
and who are instead biding their time until another revolution erupts,
might reflect). These folks are captive supporters of every "crisis
management" edict.
They can even be made to denounce and harbor actual
anger for anyone who doesn't drink the Kool-Aid with them and meekly
obey the edicts as well. Such deniers are (so they are made to believe)
endangering everyone by refusing to wave the mask and dress their lines
to six-foot intervals.
This last bit of shepherding is right out of the Nazi
playbook, as articulated by Hermann Goering:
“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s
the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a
simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a
fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
Substitute "maskless" for "peacemakers" (and maybe
"spreading the virus" for "lack of patriotism") and you've got it.
WITH ALL THE FOREGOING TRACK RECORD IN MIND, it is to no
reasonable surprise that those aggregating power and money through the
exploitation of the foggy "public health" hob-goblin are eager to find
new opportunities for more of the same. The latest of these is
the pronouncement by Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer that "racism" is a
"public health crisis".
Whitmer has learned that sheer brass will be endlessly
rewarded while those being ruined and disenfranchised by her power-grabs
are paralyzed by confusion and intimidated by the Nazi-esque tactics
deployed against them. She sees herself as having a "unipolar moment",
and is sufficiently contemptuous of the rule of law as to milk that
moment for all its worth.
As noted, even the Republicans who control both houses of
the legislature in Michigan can't manage to stagger to their feet and
point out that Whitmer has no actual "emergency powers"-- indeed, is
prohibited from such powers by the state Constitution.
Hence, Whitmer seeks to keep the pot boiling and her
opponents and victims thereby neutralized, while cementing into place
pet political positions that couldn't possibly make the cut honestly, in
a proper contest of ideas, and which really are just panders to the kind
of burn-down-the-world supporters on which she and her party rely these
days.
OTHER ROGUE GOVERNORS can be expected to follow Whitmer's
lead for as long as the alleged grown-ups in the room persist in their
contemptible fits of natal regression. Indeed, Iowa's governor Kim
Reynolds has already upped the ante on this game.
Last week Reynolds issued
an "executive order" that convicted felons shall be allowed to vote
in November, in plain defiance of
Iowa's
Constitution. That Constitution says, at Article II, Sec. 5: "A
person adjudged mentally incompetent to vote or a person convicted of
any infamous crime shall not be entitled to the privilege of an
elector."
Per Reynolds, "Nahhh!"
Reynolds claims that Article IV, Sec. 16 "grants the
governor the power to restore the rights of citizenship that were forfeited by such a conviction", and relies on this assertion as the
basis for her "order". But actually, Article IV, Sec. 16 says no such
thing:
Section 16. The Governor shall have power to grant
reprieves, commutations and pardons, after conviction, for all offences
except treason and cases of impeachment, subject to such regulations as
may be provided by law. Upon conviction for treason, he shall have power
to suspend the execution of the sentence until the case shall be
reported to the General Assembly at its next meeting, when the General
Assembly shall either grant a pardon, commute the sentence, direct the
execution of the sentence, or grant a further reprieve. He shall have
power to remit fines and forfeitures, under such regulations as may be
prescribed by law; and shall report to the General Assembly, at its next
meeting, each case of reprieve, commutation, or pardon granted, and the
reasons therefor; and also all persons in whose favor remission of fines
and forfeitures shall have been made, and the several amounts remitted.
Though it is common to imagine "pardon" to mean the
absolute erasure of a conviction and all its consequences, this is not
true as a matter of law. Black's Dictionary of Law, 7th ed., puts it
this way:
pardon, n. The act or an instance of
officially nullifying punishment or other legal consequences of a crime.
• A pardon is usu. granted by the chief executive of a government. — Also termed executive pardon. -- pardon,
vb. See CLEMENCY. Cf. COMMUTATION (2); REPRIEVE.
absolute pardon. A pardon that
releases the wrongdoer from punishment and restores the offender's civil
rights without qualification. — Also termed full pardon;
unconditional pardon.
conditional pardon. A pardon
that does not become effective until the wrongdoer satisfies a
prerequisite or that will be revoked upon the occurrence of some
specified act.
general pardon. See AMNESTY.
partial pardon. A pardon that
exonerates the offender from some but not all of the punishment or legal
consequences of a crime.
Since Article IV, Sec. 16 of Iowa's Constitution in which
the pardon authority is granted does NOT specify that such authorized
pardons are "absolute", "full" or "unconditional", and Article II, Sec.
5 says felons cannot have the franchise restored, it is clear that
Iowa's Governor is Constitutionally-prohibited from fully restoring a
convicted felon's civil rights, no matter what Reynolds and the Iowa
legislature might wish.
It is also clear from the historical record that the
prohibition on felon voting is very much solidly the will of the People. Article II, Sec. 5,
in Iowa's Constitution from the beginning, was amended,
twice, within the last 20 years (making changes in the language, such as
to replace "idiots and the insane persons" with "a person adjudged mentally incompetent").
But the People's prohibition on the franchise for "persons convicted of
any infamous crime" has been preserved.
I personally oppose conviction-limitations on the
franchise. Often those hampered by such limitations are the very folks
sensible people would most want to be exercising the franchise. Let's
remember, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Samuel Adams and other
outstanding and indispensable architects of our liberty-grounded America
were all felons in the eyes of the government of their time. Indeed, Jesus was a
felon, in the eyes of the government of the day.
But Iowa's Constitution says such folks "shall not be
entitled to the privilege of an elector". In Iowa,
that's the law.
THE SAD FACT IS, politicians-- unlike rare-as-hen's-teeth
statesmen-- loathe and fear Constitutions. If politicians could have
their way, there would be no Constitutions. Instead, there would only be
laws passed by the politicians themselves.
Politicians feel that way because Constitutions are the law
laid upon THEM, by WE, the People. These folks don't WANT any laws laid
upon them by others.
Likely to be sociopaths to a far greater degree than the general run of
the population, politicians view Constitutions the way petulant and
spoiled children view parental commands-- as best evaded or
misinterpreted whenever such things can be gotten away with. But just as
undisciplined children can burn down the house, so politicians left
undisciplined by the People's law can wreak havoc and bring great evil
down on entire societies.
It was not idly that Thomas Jefferson thundered,
"[L]et no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him
down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."
BUT I'VE LET MYSELF GET CARRIED AWAY on the more general
when this column is meant to focus on the more particular. Let me return
to the ridiculous notion that "racism" is a "public health crisis"-- by
which Gretchen Whitmer (to be followed soon by her counterparts) seeks
to equip herself with another pretext for dictatorial power grabs.
It is a dangerous absurdity to propose that an attitude can
be a "public health" matter of any kind-- or indeed, can be a "public"
matter at all. It is, in fact, not merely akin to the "Red
Scare" arguments of the 1950s, but is exactly those pernicious,
First Amendment-violating arguments, by which Americans' interest in the
ideas of communism was declared to be a threat to the country's safety.
That proposition was wrong in the 1950s, and it is wrong
now, just as would be the Chinese government's treatment of respect and
advocacy for individual liberty as a "public health crisis".
Racism is a vile and shameful reflection of ignorance,
ill-breeding, low self-esteem and difficulty with rational thought.
Expressions of that particular mental defect which extend outside the
inviolable sanctuary of the mind and heart-- such as assault-- are
crimes, exactly as are assaults committed out of anger, envy, lust,
avarice, sloth, and so on.
But just as "anger" is not a "public health crisis",
neither is racism.
WHITMER HAS ATTEMPTED TO SUGGEST that racism can be
characterized as a "public health crisis" because according to the
current C19-panic-scam narrative, the virus has taken a disproportionate
toll on blacks. This, goes the subtext, is an expression of racism-- as
in, blacks get less quality care in hospitals, because apparently some
number of the "heroes" elsewhere celebrated under the same narrative are
vicious racists.
Additional, more palatable and more overtly articulated
arguments in the same vein are that blacks are disproportionately
victims of comorbidities rendering them more vulnerable to dire outcomes
from illness, with the higher comorbidity prevalence being caused by
lower status on the "affluence ladder"-- due, goes the argument, to
racism. (As a side note, the plain and, to the narrative managers,
unwelcome implication that it's the comorbidities that are really taking
the toll, not C19, and the corresponding C19 death-count should be
discounted accordingly is coyly left unremarked.)
But all these arguments really amount to is a revisit to
the "war on poverty", which we have been waging at enormous expense for
56 years-- a fact which underscores Whitmer's "public health crisis"
nonsense as the pure, venal opportunism it really is.
HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE (or, at least, my end-point to this
long observation): As long as the American people are going to stand
down and allow demagogues and sociopaths like Gretchen Whitmer to have
their way, rather than be bound down by the chains of the Constitution,
such demagogues and sociopaths will poison the landscape in ever wider
swaths.
The people of Michigan need to stand up like soldiers for
liberty and the rule of law. They need to realize that they don't have
to wait on anyone else to read and understand Michigan's Constitution
for them before recognizing that Whitmer is in violation of that
fundamental law with every "executive order" threatening anyone outside
the executive branch of Michigan government with anything (all
as concisely laid out here).
In issuing such orders, Whitmer is bereft of any authority
of office. An unconstitutional order has no more authority behind it
than the bark of a junk-yard dog.
In fact,
The General rule is that an
unconstitutional statute, though having the
form and name of law is in reality no law,
but is wholly void, and ineffective for any
purpose; since unconstitutionality dates
from the time of it's enactment and not
merely from the date of the decision so
branding it. An unconstitutional law, in
legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if
it had never been passed. Such a statute
leaves the question that it purports to
settle just as it would be had the statute
not been enacted.
No repeal of an enactment is
necessary, since an unconstitutional law is
void. The general principles follow that it
imposes no duties, confers no rights,
creates no office, bestows no power or
authority on anyone, affords no protection,
and justifies no acts performed under it.
Here's a thought: Download your state's "Lockdown Liberty
Key" (again, available
here, for those of you in Michigan, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia,
Wyoming, Texas, Louisiana and Wisconsin). Print a few hundred copies. Or
a few thousand.
Pin them up on every grocery store bulletin board. Put them
under windshield wipers in parking lots. Hand them out in front of
restaurants and bars and anything else your local dictators have deigned
to allow to remain in business.
Hand them out at every political gathering. Post the .pdf
links everywhere you can throughout cyberspace with an insistent message
that they need to be read, and why.
As hyperbolic as it sounds, there is a coup underway. It is
not necessary to explain or even consider the end desired by those
responsible-- the acts already taken are themselves fully sufficient to
qualify for that label.
Like pregnancy, there's no such thing as nearly despotic.
One step across the Rubicon is the whole crime, and look about you! Many
more steps than one have been taken, and as Gretchen Whitmer's latest
experiment on our liberties makes clear, these criminals aren't even
close to stopping, and won't ever be until YOU STOP THEM.
Hendrickson out (mic drop).
"It is not the function of our Government to
keep the citizen from falling into error; it
is the function of the citizen to keep the
Government from falling into error."
-United States Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson
All governments are run by liars and nothing they say
should be believed."
Despite-- or perhaps especially because of-- the ongoing
current effort to neuter you politically.
TWO WEEKS AGO, I published
my simple little list of ten
acts or pledges to act that I require of either Donald Trump or Joe
Biden's puppet-masters. Neither has responded, and I knew
before I wrote the list that neither would agree to anything on it in a
million years, anyway.
Really, my purpose was just to illustrate why no one should
be hoping for another four years of Trump. The first four years of
Trump's presidency has been a disaster in nearly every possible respect,
with Neil Gorsuch and some regulatory reform being the only upticks in
what otherwise was a 24/7 downward plummet. Four more would be likely
worse, with Trump and his nutcase associated Pompeo, Haspel, Pence, and
so on, freed from the constraints of re-election considerations.
Thus, everyone should be fearing such an outcome just as
much as they wisely fear four years of Joe Biden's puppetmasters in
power.
HOWEVER, I'M HAPPY TO SAY THAT THIS YEAR, ESPECIALLY, no
one need settle for either of these two bad choices. There are three
reasons this is so.
First,
as I pointed out at the beginning of the year,
CtC's
revelations empower the American People to radically downsize the
federal and state governments to the point that even if Attila the Hun
were to take up residence in the White House or any statehouse, he would
be incapable of doing great harm, as explained
here.
Second, in this year of rampant and unsettling insanity in
the form of Covidiocy scams and the race-and-"wokeness"-victims-hustle
and assault on Western Civilization (that'd be the civilization that gave the
hustlers the i-phones
with which they organize their rioting), a whole lot of Americans are
very ready to say, "A pox on both your houses" to the two major parties
that have either brought this all on or at least whose fecklessness has
prepared a fertile bed of soil in which it could flourish.
Third, Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen, PhD-- a person
of far more impressive education and accomplishment than Trump and Biden
combined-- is a pretty attractive and credible
alternative to Trump or Biden, and on the ballot in all fifty states.
Put all three of those things together and it is impossible
to say that a vote for Jorgensen would be wasted vote. Instead, there's
every reason to expect that not only would a vote for Jorgensen be an
honest vote-- that is, one genuinely for a candidate as opposed
to a vote against another candidate (and perhaps the first one
ever cast for a presidential candidate by many folks)-- but it might very
well be a vote for the winning candidate.
Certainly it would be a vote for someone with people that
can make a good warm-up video:
...and isn't Jo about 100% less creepy and
sociopathic-looking than "The Donald" or Sleepy Joe?
HERE IS A SUMMARY OF JORGENSEN'S POSITIONS on a number of
significant issues, as posted on Wikipedia:
Social Security
Jorgensen is critical of the current system and
supports replacing it with individual retirement accounts. She supports
an option to opt out of Social Security, allowing anyone who took this
route to invest 6.2% of their future payroll taxes in individual
retirement accounts and receive prorated Social Security benefits for
existing contributions as zero coupon bonds for retirement.
In the final debate of the primaries, candidate
Jacob Hornberger accused Jorgensen of "support[ing] the welfare state
through Social Security and Medicare". In response, Jorgensen called
Social Security a "Ponzi scheme" and said that she would allow people to
opt-out of the program on her first day in office. However, she
emphasized the constitutional inability of a president to unilaterally
end the program without the support of Congress, as well as the need for
the government to fulfill existing Social Security obligations.
Criminal justice reform
Jorgensen opposes the seizure of property
through federal civil asset forfeiture and the use of qualified immunity
to protect police officers. She is also critical of the United States'
incarceration rate. She also wants to work with Congress to end the War
on Drugs and other victimless crime laws. She has said she would pardon
anyone in prison who has been incarcerated for a victimless crime.
Jorgensen opposes the private prisons, solitary confinement for
juveniles, mandatory minimums for people charged with drug possession,
and the death penalty for drug traffickers. She also supports amnesty
for whistleblowers such as Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Chelsea
Manning, viewing them as an essential and necessary check on government
corruption.
War on drugs
Jorgensen opposes the war on drugs. Jorgensen
has called the drug war a "failed" policy, and supports abolishing drug
laws, promising to pardon all nonviolent drug offenders.
Gun rights
Jorgensen supports the right to bear arms. She
has stated she would abolish the ATF whose purpose, she believes, is to
enforce "unconstitutional laws".
Police demilitarization
Jorgensen promotes the demilitarization of
police, saying that the police's duty "is to go after specific
perpetrators of violent crimes, not to act as a force against the
people."
Environment
Jorgensen favors Generation IV nuclear power to
reduce carbon emissions and she wants to remove barriers to replacing
coal-burning and oil-burning power plants in the United States with
nuclear power plants, in addition to allowing off-grid use of solar
power. She supports removing "subsidies of all forms of energy
production, allowing emissions-free nuclear power a chance to compete on
a level playing field" and supports the use of hydraulic fracking while
holding "fracking companies responsible for damages."
Foreign policy
Jorgensen opposes embargoes, economic
sanctions, and foreign aid. She favors the withdrawal of American troops
from foreign wars. She favors non-interventionism and free trade with
other nations.
Government spending and debt
Jorgensen supports the Constitutional authority
to block any new borrowing. She has pledged to veto any spending that
leads to a deficit and any debt ceiling increases.
Poverty
Jorgensen believes that the most effective way
to help the poor is through the voluntary efforts of private groups and
individuals paired with deregulation. She wants to eliminate policies
that, she argues, increase the costs of housing and health care, as well
as those creating barriers to creating new businesses or entering
professions.
Education
Jorgensen favors the decentralization and
localization of education, and has proposed slashing or altogether
eliminating the budget of the Department of Education, leaving the
education of children to the states.
Neutrality and Peace
Jorgensen opposes US involvement in foreign
wars. Advocating armed neutrality similar to Switzerland’s, she has
promised to “bring the troops home.”
Taxes
Maintaining that taxes currently are not
voluntary, Jorgensen supports the abolition of the Internal Revenue
Service and the elimination of federal income tax.
Healthcare
Jorgensen supports a free-market healthcare
system financed by providing individuals with a spending account and
allowing individuals to keep any savings, which she believes would
create an increased incentive for healthcare providers to compete by
meeting consumer demand for low cost services.
Immigration and trade
Jorgensen believes that American citizens
should be free to travel anywhere they choose and to buy and sell
anywhere in the world. She believes in eliminating trade barriers and
tariffs and repealing quotas on the number of people who can legally
enter the United States to work, visit, or reside. In a Libertarian
presidential primary debate, Jorgensen said she would immediately stop
construction on President Donald Trump's border wall. During another
primary debate she blamed anti-immigration sentiment on disproportionate
media coverage of crimes by immigrants. She argued that immigration
helps the economy and that the blending of cultures is beneficial.
COVID-19
Jorgenson has characterized the U.S.
government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic as overly bureaucratic
and authoritarian, calling restrictions on individual behavior such as
stay-at-home orders and corporate bailouts, "the biggest assault on our
liberties in our lifetime".
NOT A PERFECT set of positions, admittedly. For
instance, Jorgensen appears to suffer from a strangely-common
blind-spot in Libertarian Party circles concerning
the nature of the
income tax.
I don't agree with her immigration policy (for
reasons explained here). And the described healthcare policy seems
at least somewhat contradictory, being labeled "free market" yet
apparently involving government-provided "spending accounts".
There are a few other weak spots, as well.
BUT ALL THAT SAID, at the same time most positions described here are just
what they ought to be, or as near as could be hoped for in any
candidate with a chance at the widespread acceptability needed for
electoral success. (Further, some of Jorgensen's position may be more
nuanced in detail than is offered in this Wikipedia summary--
see Jorgensen's own website, here).
In any event, every one of these positions are a million miles further down the road
to virtue than the zombie alternatives offered by Donald Trump, Joe Biden, or the
party of either. That can be readily said of even those with which I take
specific issue above, as well as those I find pretty solid as they are.

can make use in awakening other Americans to the virtues of having
the income tax correctly administered. Please, for my sake, for your

Still Timely: Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE BIT OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected this spring should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], over the last several months you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.

citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Word??
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be
highly rated."

Crossing The Rubicon: The UK Slips Into A
Repressive State
by Mark Chapman
Julius Caesar’s crossing the Rubicon River in 49 BC in
defiance of Roman law placed him and his army on a direct collision course with
Rome, leading to the Civil War which established him as Roman dictator. It is a
well-established metaphor for a point at which there is no going back and at
which things will never be the same.
I predicted a few weeks ago that the UK
Government would in the near future try to force everyone to wear
facemasks in public. Leave aside the plethora of information that makes
it clear face masks are of practically zero benefit in everyday
circumstances, and may in fact be dangerous, the forced wearing of
facemasks is a transgression so fundamental and of such significance
that it is difficult to adequately express.
It implicitly hands your body over to state
control, and renders one of your most basic existential freedoms subject
to state interference. For the first time, the right to exercise a
choice of whether you should inhibit your respiratory faculties and hide
your face in public is taken out of your hands. If you doubt the
significance of this, try to remember the public outcry that followed a
debate regarding banning the wearing of burkhas and hijabs in the face
of Islamic terrorism, and the connotations this had for civil liberties
at the time.
Facemask wearing is the visible hallmark of
Asian states perceived in the West as repressive and authoritarian. It
is a badge of serfdom, akin to the yellow star that Jews were forced to
wear in Nazi Germany. There is no greater invasion of your person
possible short of tattooing you with a number.
MASKS ARE A BADGE OF SERFDOM,
just as Chapman says, and as I
discuss in detail here, in an article responding to Gretchen Whitmer's
issuance of a "mask mandate" in Michigan a few weeks ago. Between that article
and Chapman's contribution here, little more needs to be said on that point.
WHAT DOES NEED MORE
ATTENTION is the astonishing, disturbing and functionally-suicidal
silence and paralysis of the American people (and, per Chapman, the
Brits, as well) in response to these mask-mandates and the rest of the
"lockdown" C19-hoax-crisis usurpations, impositions and manipulations.
This behavior is shameful.
All I can imagine in explanation is that somehow many are
not recognizing the peril. Instead, that "many" seems to naively expect
everything to end up all right, perhaps by imagining that those who have
been defying the law for the last six months-- to their steady
aggrandizement and accumulation of power and wealth-- will suddenly
stop misbehaving, and let things revert to normal all on their own.
But plainly, to articulate this fantasy is to expose its
delusional character.
THE FACT IS, WE ARE SUFFERING A BRUTAL ASSAULT on
everything which is crucial to the preservation and good health of our
liberty and our prosperity. We mustn't allow the settling into place of
the "principle" that those operating the state can rightly compel our
subordination of individual views and decisions to what they see (or
claim) to be the interests of the collective.
That "principle" has no limit. If you can be made to wear a
mask in order to (supposedly) protect your neighbor from catching some
illness you might be carrying (and if your children can be kept from
playing with each other, and you all be compelled to have drugs injected
into your bodies, and prevented from gathering even for purposes of
discussing with each other in person-- where such discussion is actually
potentially persuasive-- the rightness of such impositions), what can
you not be made to do?
What will your neighbors not feel you
can rightly be made to do? What will your children not have been
conditioned to believe they (and you) can rightly be made to do?
Even if there really WERE a remarkably grave threat in this
year's virus, the impositions being done in its name, and the
consequences of letting them be done, are graver threats still. American
paralysis in the face of those impositions is
madness.
IN LIGHT OF THE MALAISE apparently afflicting the community
I almost don't want to bother directing anyone to the solution to the
threat, as I have done so many, many times now to no apparent effect. I
see no indication that anyone is listening or acting.
No discussion or planning for outreach appears in the state
fora. No increase in downloads of the proffered solution docs takes
place. No word reaches me of businesses opening in defiance of the
illegal mandates or lawsuits filed.
Here is the introduction document by which anyone can learn the
critical importance, the promise and the unstoppable character of the
"shrinking Leviathan" solution.
I wish that you would at least share them with others, even
if you cannot see why you should bother.
EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fifteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...
(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is
No Such Agency!)
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above may not
be a current edition. CHECK. It matters. Also, there ARE no
e-book, Kindle or .pdf versions of
CtC.
Don't get taken in by efforts to sell you-- or even give you for
free-- any such thing.
August 11- In 1919, Germany adopts the

black motorist is arrested for DUI by a white cop. In 1972, the last United
States ground combat unit leaves Vietnam.

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
August 13- In 1792, King Luis XVI of France is formally
declared an "enemy of the people" by the revolutionary National Tribunal. In
1831, Nat Turner and his fellow self-liberated slaves kill 50-60 members of
slaveholding families in Virginia. After being captured, Turner was tried,
convicted, and sentenced to death. Bizarrely, after being hung, his body was
then flayed, beheaded and quartered. In 1889, Ferdinand von Zeppelin patents
his 'Navigable Balloon'. In 1913, stainless steel is invented. In 2008,
marijuana smoker Michael Phelps sets an Olympic record for the most gold medals
ever won by a single athlete. In 2013, the US-backed dictatorship in Egypt
declares a state of emergency in the face of mass demonstrations opposing its
coup against democratically-elected president Mohamed Morsi.
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on
matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works
are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding

has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of
Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a

for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and
as a member of the International Society for Individual
Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across
the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
