It's nice to be able to share a bit of uplift right now:
February 1- In 1814, the Mayon Volcano in the Philippines
erupts, vomiting huge volumes of ash (and "greenhouse gasses", as well) into the
atmosphere, followed a year later by another massive eruption, from Mount
Tambora in the Dutch East Indies. Between the two, these eruptions produced "The
Year Without A Summer" in 1816. In 1861, Texas becomes the seventh of the
several states to secede from the Union. In 1920, the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police begin operations. In 1942, Vidkun Quisling is appointed Premier of
Norway by the Nazi occupiers. In 1968, South Vietnamese National Police Chief
Nguyen Ngoc Loan is photographed summarily executing North Viet Cong officer
Nguyen Van Lem in an intersection in Saigon. In 1979, convicted bank robber
Patty Hearst is released from prison after her sentence is commuted by Jimmy
Carter. In 1979, the Ayatollah Khomeini returns to Tehran after 15 years in
exile. In 1992, Warren Anderson, ex-CEO of Union Carbide, is declared a
fugitive from justice by India's Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bhopal for failing
to appear in proceedings concerning the Bhopal chemical plant disaster in which
a probable 16,000 people died from exposure to toxic gas. In 2003, the space
shuttle Columbia disintegrates during re-entry. In 2004, Janet Jackson has a
wardrobe malfunction.

A Truly Remarkable And Very Important Document
From Six State Attorneys General
...by which a line is drawn in the sand and much uplift of
spirit and toughening of resolve is delivered.
A FEW DAYS AGO THE EXCELLENT Adolfo Montero forwarded to me
a letter signed by the Attorneys General of West Virginia, Arkansas,
Indiana, Mississippi, Montana and Texas and addressed to Joe Biden. I
was pretty astonished at what I read.
The five-page letter amounts to a line-in-the-sand
declaration by these state officials of their intention to exercise both
their options of lawsuit and their options of nullification in the face
of overreach by the Biden administration. More particularly (and
gratifyingly), this line in the sand actually yanks the Constitutional
chain hard, setting boundaries of actual delegated power limits, which
are far more stringent and circumscribed than have been honored by
denizens of Washington, DC for many, many years.
These six state's Attorneys General aren't just telling
Biden to stick within the scope of executive power and centralized
governance practiced by Trump, or Obama, or Bush or Clinton. What they
are saying is a whole lot closer to, "Stick within the scope recognized
by Thomas Jefferson or Grover Cleveland" (or, at least, Eisenhower or
Kennedy).
And they say it well. Indeed, the remarkable demeanor of
the letter by the Attorneys General is matched in noteworthiness by the
letter's sharp, bright, articulate and accurate presentation of the
Constitutional structure within which the office of President is
exercised, and by which it is strictly limited.
There are some things left unsaid in the letter
which should have been addressed-- particularly matters concerning
speech and privacy rights. The letter does focus on freedom of religion
and the Second Amendment, but passes over the rest of the lately
much-tattered Bill of Rights. And a bit too much acceptance of
congressional abdication to administrative agency usurpation of
legislative and judicial authority is on display (albeit while urging
Biden to hold agencies firmly to the supposedly-mitigating requirements
of the Administrative Procedure Act).
But as a Constitutional scholar and longtime activist on
behalf of the rule of law, I am accustomed to much frustration with
documents of this sort and harbor generally low expectations of both the
knowledge and the fidelity of people in political office in regard to
the law at any level. In this case, even taking into account the caveats
just mentioned, I found the Attorneys Genderals' letter a genuine
pleasure to read.
ALL OF THE POSITIVE OBSERVATIONS ABOVE NOTWITHSTANDING,
several cautions must accompany this letter.
First and foremost, no one should view this statement of
resolve by these Attorneys General as the cavalry riding in to save the
day. Dire straits like those we face today are never solved by such
means. Even the most heroic intentions and efforts by handful of state
government officials-- as welcome and hugely important as they are and
would be-- could not possibly be anywhere even close to enough to deal
with the Hydra presently assaulting our liberties and
our true rule of law.
There is an unfortunate tendency in America to count on
someone else doing the hard work, and consequently waiting passively for
that rescue. This disastrous perspective is preyed upon with endless
exploitive fictions injected into potentially-activist communities by
their enemies intended to encourage just such counter-productive
complacency-- such as the ridiculous "Q Anon" fantasy by which many
folks were made to sit like lumps during recent critical periods,
certain that a secret plan was about to unfold by which everything would
be made right without them personally having to bestir themselves.
Secondly, and even if the actions of a handful of
politically-vulnerable state government officials were capable of much
more serious heavy-lifting than they actually are, substantial
uncertainty exists as to the ability of these good folks to not only
engage in all the ways needed to slay the monster, but even to recognize
the true nature of its assault. Just to begin with, the one brief
reference made in the letter to "the pandemic" suggests that the signers
do not recognize the true nature of the C19 ploy as an agent of
destabilization in service to a hidden agenda.
Blindness to the C19 scheme suggests a similar and related
failure to understand just what might well be involved in Biden's "Build
Back Better" proposition for making use of the C19 "crisis"-- which is
likely summarized in the rhetorical question by
Maurice Strong, father of the Great Reset project:
“What if a small group of world leaders were to conclude
that the principal risk to the Earth comes from the actions of the rich
countries? And if the world is to survive, those rich countries would
have to sign an agreement reducing their impact on the environment. Will
they do it? The group’s conclusion is ‘no’. The rich countries won’t do
it. They won’t change. So, in order to save the planet, the group
decides: Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized
civilizations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that
about?”
The "Great Reset" is now pretty clearly in the
implementation phase under the oversight of Strong's equally odious
protegé, Klaus Schwab, Chairman of the World Economic Forum
(about whose psycho fantasies you'll learn more in the 'Other
Voices' portion of this newsletter, further down this page).
THESE ARE REMARKABLY bad times, presenting us with remarkably
high-stakes
challenges. The letter by the six state Attorneys General to Joe Biden
is a remarkable expression suited to these times and those challenges,
as far as it goes.
That said, we must recognize that the resolve of these six
statesmen-- admirable and welcome as it is-- cannot meet today's
challenges on its own. And, it may be tested when the true scope of
those challenges comes to be understood.
Thus, none of us can stint in our own efforts with or
without these good folks, and we must be ready to support them against
what is likely to be daunting pressure against their virtuous stand.
“Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate
agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they
want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the
roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a
physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power
concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”
Brief comments about a selection of current events and
topics of immediate importance, in no particular order...
Immigration
I HAVE ALWAYS APPRECIATED George Will's dry wit and general
erudition, and at one time often agreed with his opinions. Sadly,
though, four years ago Will fell prey to Trump Derangement Syndrome in a
big way and has now become a reactionary Biden apologist (probably
helped down that path by the fact that for the last seven years he's
been answering to Jeff Bezos).
One recent expression of Will's unfortunate
clockwork-orange realignment is
a January 22 column in favor of more-or-less open borders and mass
amnesty for the 11 million+ people who defied our existing laws and
either entered the country illegally in the first place or violated the
terms of their visas and remained here illegally. Will's argument boils
down to this: We've allowed lots of immigration in the past, and look
how great things have turned out; and besides, because of our declining
birth rate and aging population, we need more young workers on hand to
be taxed in order meet Social Security and Medicare commitments.
Strangely-- and, it must be feared, perhaps because his
employer favors foreign wars and a well-fed deep state-- Will doesn't
see (or declines to admit) that things have NOT turned out great, at
least not since our immigration generosity shifted from concentration on
applicants from within Western Civilization to those from other
cultures. (See
this for some general thoughts on the immigration issue.)
Further, the proper answer to "entitlement" financing is
not to bring in a bigger workforce to be exploited. The proper answer is to cut $900
billion from military spending for redeployment, with the concurrent release
of 75% of uniformed (and dark) service personnel back into the productive sector where they can go from being
net consumers of public wealth to being net producers of wealth to the
gain of both the private and public purse.
January 6 at the Capitol
I AM SICK TO DEATH of seeing and hearing the term
"storming" in regard to the events at the Capitol during the Electoral
College proceedings. Likewise "insurrection" and even "riot" (and I am
especially sick of seeing and hearing these terms from what are supposed
to be grown-up conservatives or even Libertarians, who I suspect are using them out of fear of seeming insufficient in their appearances of
condemnation and denunciation and at risk of drawing frowns from
Democrat narrative managers).
Unless a video surfaces showing a mass of invaders
deploying battering rams against the doors behind which cower AOC and
her terrified colleagues, at the very least, or ripping art off the
walls and smashing furniture and maybe even setting a fire or two,
"storming", "insurrection" and "riot" are all ridiculously
hyperventilated expressions.
Yes, a number of people from the rally for Trump entered
the Capitol-- most of them through doors opened for their convenience by
the Capitol Police, after which they behaved like a typical tour group,
staying within the velvet ropes and leaving quietly after looking around
for a while. A tiny handful broke a few windows in the back of the
building and climbed in-- apparently they didn't know the front doors
were open.
This latter group was rowdy, tossing around some papers and
putting their feet up on other peoples' desks. Suspicions exist that
they were whipped up to the violent-ish entry and rowdy behavior by
agents-provocateur, and perhaps more will emerge on that front. One of
them, an unarmed, entirely unthreatening Air Force veteran, was shot
dead by a Capitol cop while climbing through a window. Whether that
unjustifiable shooting escalated things to the point of someone striking
an officer with a fire extinguisher and killing him is beyond my
knowledge, but perhaps someone with more knowledge of the sequence of
events can sort that out.
IN ANY EVENT, as much as even the group entering illegally
did wrong, there certainly was nothing even remotely approaching a
"storming" of anything, and absolutely nothing I have heard suggests
that any member of Congress was at any time even threatened, much less
harmed. Indeed, the outcomes tell the tale-- had the event been an
attack on Congress, there would be either dead or captive congressmen
and women, or dead invaders killed while attempting to kill or capture
congressmen and women.
At a minimum, the Capitol would have ended up resembling
any of the urban areas in which "peaceful" BLM and Antifa "protests"
took place during the summer-- that is, a burned-out, heavily-looted
ruin.
I urge everyone to stop mischaracterizing the January 6
events by reflexively using the fake news-mongers' mendacious terms.
Further...
WE HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED over the last year to a monolithic
media drumbeat about C19 as the Black Plague reborn (and the monolithic
suppression of competing voices, such as
all those tens of thousands of
doctors trying to alert us to the existence of cures, and to the fact
that the ailment is being wildly overblown, and so forth). This
sustained "in-one-voice" behavior is quite unusual for American media.
Even where deeply-invested state interests have been at
stake in the past, such as during the 9/11 aftermath and the drive to a
completely unrelated invasion of Iraq, a bit of daylight leaked through
here and there from within the MSM. But no longer.
Likewise, the very same media monolith beating the
destabilizing C19 drum has, over the last several months, been
relentlessly repeating the "no evidence of fraud" mantra (after having
looked for none themselves and while suppressing every exposure of
the
massive evidence at hand).
It all brings to mind that staple tactic of Banana Republic
coups with which we all grew familiar during the '60s and '70s: Job One
is seizing control of the radio station (and other media outlets). How
else to explain the seamless uniformity of message regardless of the
competing and contrary facts?
Finally,
THERE IS THIS: I find intriguing all the
barking by Democrats (well, Biden supporters, anyway) meant to
intimidate and silence their political opponents. It conveys the image
of someone trying to browbeat superior numbers into passivity by
dint of an aggression blizzard, as a cop might be trained to do in an
effort at crowd control. As such, it in no way seems to reflect the
proposition that Biden was actually elected by a majority, much less
than by millions more than voted against him...

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected this year should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], over the last several months you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the
citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to
keep the Government from falling into error."
-United States Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson
(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.

explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI

Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

“Wherefore we find our adventurer Odysseus stirring,
his patience at an end. His black ship is run down to the water. He
calls for mariners”
by John Griffin
Who else senses the world shrinking around them? Was it
only a year ago we could twirl a multi-hued globe and contemplate a trip to one
of those inviting islets of colour?
Now, such goals have become uncertain,
hazardous, forbidden even. We are confined to our country, our state,
our town, a backyard. An immemorial freedom is being curtailed. We began
as a freewheeling species, nonchalantly strolling out of Africa. A
hundred millennia later and a trip to the local supermarket will soon be
a grand day out, and even this dependent on the whims of a president, a
prime minister, a mayor.
Are we destined to settle for Hamlet’s fancy, a
world ‘bounded in a nutshell’?
That feeling of confinement and frustration
brought Melville’s Ishmael to the point of knocking people’s hats off in
the street. Today, it’s masks.
And so, to sea.
I propose a new Odyssey. In the spirit of
Tennyson’s ‘To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield’, it shall be
a voyage to discover the origins of Covid. In time, the story may evolve
to become an epic to rival Homer’s. For now, we will have to be content
with a synopsis.
The initial motive for the first Odyssey was
the whisking away to Troy of that exemplar of beauty, Helen. This
inducement is going to be harder to conjure today. Leonora in my local
farmácia has seductive eyes. But the rest of her is obscured by a black
mask. If her ancient namesake were similarly attired, I fear the Greek
fleet would still be sitting on the sands.
We must picture a fresh scenario. A mysterious
visitor to Ithaca’s port brings news of a deadly foe. The people gather
round, imagining the imminent invasion of the cyclopes, or gorgons, or a
chimera. They are informed that a nasty cold, of the sort that carries
off some of the elderly and sick each year, is on its way and everyone
should take cover.
Chuckles all round? A sound drubbing of the
newcomer? Alas, within a short time this startling account of an
epidemios has subdued a hitherto sane land. Wherefore we find our
adventurer Odysseus stirring, his patience at an end. His black ship is
run down to the water. He calls for mariners.
But this expedition is not for everyone. Before
we enter the wide salt sea, how best to decide our crew? Most of our
islanders have determined Covid a krisis. We have no time to review or
debate their savage reasonings. While the mast is stepped, the sails
carried aboard, and the long oars looped to the tholes, Odysseus’ wife
Penelope has distributed the following multiple-choice questionnaire.
a) not having the ferry fare for Charon after
succumbing to Covid-19
b) being attacked by a hippo or Nile crocodile
c) being struck on the head by a tortoise like
Aeschylus
LOGICAL REASONING
1. If I have
Covid when I die, does that mean I must have died from it?
a) Obviously
b) Very likely
c) No
2. If a study found that 1.8% of
people wearing masks caught Covid, compared to 2.1% of a control group
that didn’t, you would conclude masks are
a) 98.2% effective
b) about 50% effective
c) as effective as a bronze Corinthian war
helmet
3. Is the
following syllogism valid?
“All residents of nursing homes are mortal.
Socrates is a resident of a nursing home. Therefore, Socrates is
mortal”.
a) No, and the question is discriminatory
b) Under certain circumstances
c) Absolutely
4. What do the
following figures tell you?:
The average age of death is 81.5, while the average age of Covid deaths
is 82.4.
a) One of those curious coincidences
b) I’d be better off with Covid
c) There is little to worry about
5. If PCR tests come up with 97% false positives,
identify inoperative fragments of virus, and artificially amplify a
minute sample 2 to the 40th times to make it look more impressive, does
it make sense to test?
a) Of course, it helps us see what otherwise
wouldn’t be noticed
b) Yes, any test is better than no test
c) No
COMMON SENSE QUESTIONS
1. If an epidemiologist, calculating
death rates, had got it wrong 4 times in a row, you would
a) trust him this time
b) be somewhat wary
c) call down the wrath of Zeus
2. Given that
excess deaths occurred
after lockdown began, you would
conclude lockdown was
a) a sensible approach
b) better than doing nothing
c) bloody useless
3. If you found
the same people promoting the
official Covid narrative were also associated with pharmaceutical
companies, health-tech companies, or vaccine manufacturers that could
make a killing out of Covid, you would conclude
a) it was a wonderful piece of luck in gloomy
times
b) it shows what a marvellous thing lockdown is
c) we are now counting the common flu as Covid
2. Noticing that
prominent and respected scientists, academics, journalists, and
intellectuals all take Covid to be a serious threat, you would
a) take their word for it
b) doubt your own sanity
c) doubt their sanity, and wonder what else
they’d got wrong
3. Shown a
photograph of Bill Gates you would
a) see a respected philanthropist and
humanitarian
b) be relieved that someone with no
qualifications was an expert on health policy
c) think of a naughty schoolboy up to no good
SCIENTIFIC AND PHILOSOPHICAL REASONING
1. According to
the Law of Covid Stupidity, the force of intelligence is inversely
proportional to the square of the distance from the centre of a Covid
hotspot. The law—often summarized as ‘the fewer the deaths, the greater
the panic’—shows that when there are no deaths at all, stupidity
approaches infinity. Indicate your response to the panicked lockdown in
South Australia and Sydney
after zero deaths were registered.
a) The number of deaths is not always the issue
b) They were just being cautious
c) I’d be concerned about being seen with an
Australian passport
2. Indicate your
response to this ontological argument:
Covid is something than which nothing
greater can be conceived. That which exists in reality must be greater
than that which exists only in the mind. Therefore, Covid must exist
outside the mind as well as inside. For, if it existed in the mind only,
and not in reality, it would not be ‘something than which nothing
greater can be conceived’.
a) Absolutely proves it
b) I’d have to mull it over
c) The silliest thing I ever heard
3. Argument from Design: If, walking over a
heath, you came across a fully working Matt Hancock, you would conclude
a) there must be a Designer
b) it had evolved from something much simpler
c) it had devolved from something more
reasonable
*
Circumspect Penelope has done well: the correct
answers are all (c).
More than
99.5% of people who contract
Covid survive it. Which makes a mockery of the oft-quoted dictum,
Covido ergo sum infirmum; that is, ‘There is Covid, therefore I am
sick’. Ironically, 99.5 % also happens to be the number of people who
take Covid seriously, consider Penelope to be a conspiracy theorist, and
are petitioning Odysseus for a recount.
The crew is picked. Along with some experts in
Very Small Invisible Things, and a mysterious grey-eyed woman, we are
surprised to find we are mostly journalists, not a profession Odysseus
is familiar with. But we assure him of our worth. We are, we say, like a
sort of Delphic oracle: busybodies who are keen to reveal the truth, but
grossly misjudged.
Churning the salt sea to foam, setting sail,
our small fellowship of heroic souls, independent thinkers all, leaves
this Mediterranean paddling pool. Out through the Pillars of Heracles,
into the Atlantic, we head north. Even as Dawn’s rosy fingers light the
morning of the seventh day, we come across our first island and our
first chance to fathom Covid.
EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T click on the link above and continue to read the
rest of Griffin's entertaining and informative essay, Penelope's Q&A above
is enough by itself to make the piece hugely worthwhile. I heartily congratulate John
Griffin on a job well done.
But the rest of Griffin's essay is very much worth your time, even though quite long. The journey of Odysseus and his mariners
to the ultimate source of the "C19 pandemic" is artful in its
presentation and ends with an introduction to Klaus Schwab and company,
and the real nature of the Great Reset. Now that America has its own
"Uncle Joe" issuing decrees in service to that project (under the "Build
Back Better" label, for improved domestic consumption), it's more
important than ever that we all clearly understand its nature.
So, if you haven't yet, read the rest of Griffin's piece.
You'll be glad you did.
AT THE SAME TIME, I will continue to remind everyone
that a key defense for the people against despotism is the power
individual Americans have over the purse from which all bad state
behavior is financed.
That defense was put in place by the Founders in
anticipation of just the sort of corruption that reigns today. They
knew that if you can control the amount of damage that can be done by
bad actors, society can survive the inevitable presence within its ranks
of naifs and fools.
Here
is an introductory document by which anyone can learn the
critical importance, the promise and the unstoppable character of the
"shrinking Leviathan" solution.
Read it through, yourself. Then share it as widely as you
can.
EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fifteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...
(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is
No Such Agency!)
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above may not
be a current edition. CHECK. It matters. Also, there ARE no
e-book, Kindle or .pdf versions of
CtC.
Don't get taken in by efforts to sell you-- or even give you for
free-- any such thing.
February 2- In 1653, New Amsterdam is
incorporated (later renamed New York City). In 1709, Alexander Selkirk is
rescued from shipwreck on a desert island, inspiring Daniel Defoe's 'Robinson
Crusoe'. In 1790, the United States Supreme Court convenes for the first time.
In 1848, the first shipload of Chinese emigrants arrives in San Francisco. In
1876, baseball's National League is formed. In 1880, the first electric
streetlight is installed, in Wabash, Indiana. In 1887, Punxsutawney Phil takes
the stage for the first time. In 1913, Grand Central Station opens in New York
City. In 1922, James Joyce's 'Ulysses' is published. In 1933, Hitler dissolves
the German Parliament. In 1940, Frank Sinatra debuts with the Tommy Dorsey
Orchestra. In 1972, the British Embassy in Dublin is destroyed by protestors
after 27 unarmed civil rights marchers are shot in Derry by British troops,
resulting in 14 fatalities. In 1989, the last Soviet armored column is driven
out of Afghanistan after a ten-year bleeding of the USSR.

February 3- In 1690, the Massachusetts colonial government
issues the American continent's first paper "money". In 1809, the Illinois
Territory is formed. In 1913, the 16th Amendment-- the most deliberately
misrepresented Constitutional amendment of all, bar none-- is declared
ratified. All the amendment did was overrule the limited effect of the Pollock
v. Farmer's Loan & Trust ruling by the Supreme Court in 1895, which had
prevented dividends and rent connected with the exercise of federal privilege
from being subject to the tax like other "income" had been for decades based on
a view the court took of their relationship of those particular gains to the
sources from which they are derived. To learn the whole story of the 16th
Amendment, click here. In
1940, Pierre Laval is installed as head of government in Vichy, France, by the
occupying Nazis. In 1959, the music dies in Iowa. In 1966, the unmanned Soviet
Luna 9 spacecraft successfully lands on the Moon. In 1969, Yasser Arafat is
appointed head of the PLO by the Palestinian National Congress. In 1971, Frank
Serpico is shot, but survives to testify about the drug-war-fueled corruption of
fellow New York City police officers.

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to
discourage people from rebutting allegations that
they had done things I can tax, and wanted to keep them from
successfully reclaiming withheld or paid-in money, I
would salt the "tax honesty" community with
passionate-seeming "legal researchers" who would
warn anyone whose ear they captured that filing a

February 4- In 1789, George Washington is unanimously elected
first President of the United States by the Electoral College. In 1792,
Washington is unanimously re-elected. In 1801, John Marshall is sworn in as
Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1861, delegates from six of the
seceding states form the Confederate States of America. In 1899, the
Philippine-American War begins (a resistance of the Philippine population
against American annexation of the country in which over a million Philippine
citizens will be killed).

helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the

the Battle of Khe Sanh begins. In 1971, Apollo 14 lands on the Moon. In 1988,

February 6- In 1782, South Carolina bans paper money, after
a thorough lesson in its inherent and unavoidable evils. In 1788,
Massachusetts becomes the sixth of the several states to ratify the United
States Constitution and authorize the new version of the federal government,
under the charter of which the federal government is given no authority to
emit bills of credit or other paper "money", but may only coin money-- a
limited authority in harmony with the identical prescription that the
several states may not emit bills of credit, nor make any thing but gold or
silver a tender in payment of debts. In 1815, New Jersey grants the first
American railroad charter (for a line between New Brunswick and Trenton).
In 1959, the first patent is issued for an integrated circuit; and a Titan
ICBM is successfully test-fired for the first time. In 1989, the
"Roundtable" talks begin in Poland, marking the beginning of the end of
communist domination of Eastern Europe.

February 7- In 1795, the Eleventh
Amendment to the United States Constitution is ratified. In 1904, a fire breaks
out in Baltimore, Maryland which will burn for 30 hours and destroy more than
1,500 buildings. The city rebuilds and moves on without the assistance of
FEMA. Mayor Robert Lane declares, "To suppose that the spirit of our people
will not rise to the occasion is to suppose that our people are not genuine
Americans. We shall make the fire of 1904 a landmark not of decline but of
progress." He refused all offers of assistance, stating, "As head of this
municipality, I cannot help but feel gratified by the sympathy and the offers of
practical assistance which have been tendered to us. To them I have in general
terms replied, 'Baltimore will take care of its own, thank you.'". In 1962, the
United States bans all imports from, and exports to, Cuba. In 1964, the Beatles
arrive in America. In 1990, the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party
agrees to relinquish its monopoly on power in the USSR. In 1991, the IRA fires
mortar rounds at Britain's Prime Ministerial offices at 10 Downing Street,
London. In 1992, the European Union is created with the signing of the

Last Word
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We
seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that
feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget
that ye were our countrymen."

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on
matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works
are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of Mensa;
an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and
has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of
Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a
consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens
for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and
as a member of the International Society for Individual
Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across
the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
