"The preservation of a free government requires, not
merely that the metes and bounds which separate
each department of power be invariably maintained, but
more especially that neither of them be suffered to
overleap the great barrier which defends the rights
of the people. The rulers who are guilty of such
encroachment exceed the commission from which they derive
their authority, and are TYRANTS. The people who
submit to it are governed by laws made neither by themselves
nor by an authority derived from them and are slaves….."
BARRING SOME EXTRAORDINARY EVENT
meriting a report or discussion, this Mid-Edition
Update will be more-or-less my last newsletter post this year.
That is, I'll see you again December 30 as we all
gear up for the new year, and in the
meantime I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
But I want to leave everyone
with a few thoughts for consideration during
next several weeks...
AS EVERYONE WILL HAVE SEEN in the
Illuminating Anniversaries for this
week, today, December 16, is the anniversary
of the Boston Tea Party in 1773. On that day an
intrepid band of Americans, who were "woke" to the compromise
and insecurity of their individual rights at the
hands of an increasingly corrupt, law-defying and
arrogant Leviathan state,
stood up.
These patriots performed a
critically-important task. They pointed to
the emperor and exclaimed, "He's got no
clothes!" in the only fashion that really
gets the job done-- a positive act fraught
with peril for being in defiance of
"established authority".
The Tea Partiers, through their
acts, announced that every official of
Britain, up to and including the king
himself (commonly argued to hold his office
by divine dispensation)-- which amounted to the government to which they
were then deemed subject by all and sundry,
including themselves-- was wrong
as to what that Leviathan state was properly
able to do under the laws of Britain, fairly
and honestly understood.
The acts of the British
government, said the Tea Parties, were not
clothed in legitimate authority, no matter
whose name or title appeared upon them. The
acts of the British government, said the Tea
Parties, were not clothed in legitimate
authority no matter how creatively that
government's courts excused them or evaded
their proper limits by resort to procedural
gimmickry or by "misunderstanding" (or
ignoring) arguments by targeted litigants or
defendants.
THE TEA PARTIERS MADE THEIR
JUDGMENTS based on their own study of the
law, and clear understanding of the fact
that THEY were the sovereign in their
relationship with government, as concisely
expressed by Thomas Jefferson:
"A free people claim their
rights as derived from the laws of nature,
and not as the gift of their chief
magistrate"
Edmund Burke, addressing
Britain's parliament in 1775 regarding the
aspirations of the colonists for liberty,
observed that,
“In this character of the
Americans, a love of freedom is the
predominating feature which marks and
distinguishes the whole: and as an ardent is
always a jealous affection, your colonies
become suspicious, restive, and untractable,
whenever they see the least attempt to wrest
from them by force, or shuffle from them by
chicane, what they think the only advantage
worth living for.”
Burke went on to further
describe aspects of the American character,
and the reasons why Britain cannot succeed
in maintaining the subjugation of the
colonies. His last argument, prior to dryly
pointing out that three thousand miles of
ocean hinder the British purpose, is this:
“Permit me, Sir, to add
another circumstance in our colonies, which
contributes no mean part towards the growth
and effect of this untractable spirit. I
mean their education. In no country perhaps
in the world is the law so general a study.
The profession itself is numerous and
powerful; and in most provinces it takes the
lead. The greater number of the deputies
sent to the congress were lawyers. But all
who read, and most do read, endeavour to
obtain some smattering in that science. I
have been told by an eminent bookseller,
that in no branch of his business, after
tracts of popular devotion, were so many
books as those on the law exported to the
plantations. The colonists have now fallen
into the way of printing them for their own
use.”
Burke recognized that it was
the Americans' knowledge of the law that
made them a people impossible to hold under
illegitimate power. Not because that study
reveals a magic spell that makes tyrants and
would-be tyrants dry up and blow away, but
because a study of the law arms the student
with the moral certainty needed to sustain
the long-term commitment which the struggle
for liberty against the ambitions of
despotism always requires.
WITH ALL THE FOREGOING IN MIND,
I urge everyone in this community to spend
some time over the holidays thoroughly
reading (or re-reading) the words of the law
presented
here (or more comprehensively
here). Then re-read your
CtC.
Here's the reason for the
exercise: Too many-- of even folks solidly
within this community-- fail to stand on the
firm ground of confident knowledge when
facing skepticism from friends and
acquaintances or from those in the realm of
"officialdom".
Indeed, too many-- of even
folks within this community-- fail to
achieve and maintain an appropriate sense of
impatience and scorn, if not contempt and
hostility, for those in denial of the truth
about the income tax-- whether it be their
friends and acquaintances or those in the
realm of "officialdom".
This diffidence is severely
hindering the liberation of America from the
grip of the "ignorance tax" scam.
AS I HAVE SAID MANY TIMES
BEFORE, this community should have the
character of those in the civil rights
movement of the 1960s and of the American
Revolutionaries of the 1770s. Like those
earlier bringers-of-the-storm, members of
this CtC community should be 100% certain of
the righteousness of their cause and 100%
intolerant of the willful blindness of
anyone who denies that righteousness.
Indeed, this community should
be 150% certain, by comparison with those
forebears. We have the advantage of the
entire issue on behalf of which we stand
having been long since acknowledged in
black-and-white by every relevant authority
even from among the ranks of those whose
resistance we denounce and decry.
Unlike the Revolutionaries and
civil rights activists, who were obliged to
argue what ought to be, based on
philosophical and moral reasoning, we in the
CtC community needn't argue our case at
all. Our arguments long since won the
battles at that level. The laws were written
accordingly. Every institution of our
governmental structure signed off in
agreement.
Unlike the challenge facing the
Revolutionaries and civil rights activists,
no one need be convinced that our cause is
just. We need simply overcome a modern,
utterly contemptible corrupt institutional
effort to pretend the laws don't say what
they plainly do, and a corresponding,
deeply-embedded, utterly contemptible
child-like reflex on the part of other
Americans to defer their own examination and
judgment of the law in favor of whatever
appears to be the preferred view of their
modern, utterly contemptible and corrupt
"chief magistrates".
The fact is, this
CtC-educated community should respond to
skepticism of our message with the same
degree of unadulterated scorn that is
merited by "flat-earthers", defenders of the
"single bullet" argument, and socialist
utopians. At the very least, skeptics should
be derided as apparent illiterates, since
the relevant facts are all plainly written
out and published by the government itself
for any and all to read.
Journalists, judges, friends,
family members and acquaintances at the
workplace and online should be presented
with the facts, and then slapped with them
as if across the face with a dead fish
should denial persist.
The fact is that this is all
personal, and it should be viewed that way.
Denial of the plain and printed-out truth
about the income tax has been used to drain
your treasure chest and effectively
enslave you to the state and its
beneficiaries for your entire life.
The effort to persist in those
crimes remains in high gear, and will do so
until you get pissed and get noisy about
it-- like the civil rights marchers of the
'60s and the tea partiers of the '70s. As
Frederick Douglass put it well,
“Those who profess to favor
freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are
people who want crops without ploughing the
ground; they want rain without thunder and
lightning; they want the ocean without the
roar of its many waters. The struggle may be
a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or
it may be both. But it must be a struggle.
Power concedes nothing without a demand. It
never did and it never will.”
***
SO, FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING,
there is my homework assignment for the
holidays. Undertake to gain full
ownership of the law underlying
CtC's revelations, and get that sure
knowledge running hot in your veins in 2020.
It is past time for America to
shake off the sleepiness and sheepishness
that have left too many waiting on the
dispensation of a "chief magistrate" for
their understanding of our own laws.
It is past time for America to
recognize that sometimes, the "chief
magistrates" become our competitors and our
adversaries, when they have found a way to
improve their lot at the expense of ours.
It is past time for America to
recognize that in the case of the income
tax, nothing could be more true, or more
easily shown than exactly that kind of
entrenched, corrupt exploitation by the
"magistrate" class and its cronies and
clients. All that is needed is simple resort
to
the plain, black-and-white words of the law.
“Knowledge will forever govern
ignorance; and a people who mean to be their
own governors must arm themselves with the
power which knowledge gives.”
THIS VIDEO PROJECTS THE PROGRESS of a nuclear exchange between Russia and
the United States. It's frightening, as it should
be, as well as sobering and instructive. My only
criticisms are, first of all, that it fails to
account for the imbalance that will now be present
in any such exchange due to
the new Russian
hypersonic weapons.
Secondly, the video fails to account
for China's contribution to the exchange against the
US, which is a virtual certainty. China knows that
if Russia goes, and the US survives, it goes soon
after. So, that will not be allowed to happen.
...in recognition that more traditional
and context-appropriate wishes like peace on Earth
and goodwill toward men are only possible when
sociopaths are no longer running the show.
HERE'S MY LIST:
I WANT ALL FEDERAL AND STATE
FUNDING cut off from every school, college
and university whose policies and practices
don't 100% conform to and respect the
freedom of expression embodied in the First
Amendment of the United States Constitution
and the corresponding provisions of the
relevant state Constitutions. (Snow for
Christmas? Yes, please. Snowflakes? No
thanks.)
I WANT TO SEE EVERY CURRENT AND
FORMER FEDERAL AND STATE OFFICIAL who has
knowingly participated in-- or allowed or
facilitated-- violations of the Fourth
Amendment, by way of warrantless electronic
communications surveillance or otherwise,
prosecuted for these offenses and imprisoned
if found guilty as provided for by law.
I WANT EVERY FEDERAL OFFICIAL
who has participated in, facilitated, or
agitated on behalf of executive branch
war-making without a Congressional
declaration of war impeached, dishonored and
removed from office.
I WANT EVERY OFFICIAL with a
hand in the persecution of Julian Assange
and Chelsea Manning cashiered by the voters
or their superiors; the immediate release of
these two heroes of transparency and the
exposure of government malfeasance; and the
setting of the stage for their lawsuits
against those corrupt, lawless and
self-serving persecutors. Same thing,
more-or-less, for Edward Snowden and a
number of other heroic whistle-blowers.
I WANT EVERY FEDERAL CASE-- and
any affirming appeal thereof-- with the
United States as a litigant, in which a jury
trial was denied over the objection of other
party by a judge who construed the claims
and evidence so as to find that no "material
fact" was in dispute and who then issued
"summary judgment", studied by a sharp-eyed
congressional committee with an eye toward
recommending impeachments, dishonor and
removals from office when appropriate.
I WANT... Wow! I could go
on and on.
Let me just sum it all up with
this:
I WANT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE pissed off and on their feet, fully
awake to the evils that have been fastened
upon them over the last 80 years and to the
peril of continued somnolence or
complacency.
Oh... And a nice grey
sweater-vest. Cardigan, please.
"Find out just what the people will
submit to and you have found out the exact amount of
injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them;
and these will continue until they are resisted with
either words or blows, or with both. The limits of
tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those
whom they oppress."
CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE how abysmally
stupid someone would have to be to continue to doubt
or deny that
CtC has revealed the actual, complete and insurmountable
truth about the income tax in light of the overwhelming
mountain of
historical,
legal,
practical and
logical evidence to the contrary? (Not to mention
the
outright lies and even
ludicrous hoaxes the executive and some corrupt
members of the judiciary have been caught at in desperate
efforts to conceal the truth...)
Plainly any such denier must either be
abysmally stupid or be an abysmally corrupt government
official or other person who sees him or herself as
benefitting from the lies about the tax by which America
has suffered for 75 years now.
Isn't this true?

1--“We must reject…
…the broad contention submitted in behalf of
the government that all receipts—everything
that comes in—are income…”.
United States Supreme
Court, So. Pacific v. Lowe, 247 U.S. 330, (1918)
2—The income tax in
the United States was first instituted into
law on July 1, 1862, during Lincoln’s presidency
under the excise laws of the United States.
The preamble to the 1939 Internal Revenue Code
traces its roots to this original income tax
law.
I fear that this observation has
somehow escaped the attention of some folks, since I
rarely see it being discussed or expanded upon or shared around as I
think it should be...
IN HIS 1776 MASTERPIECE 'An Inquiry into the Nature
and Causes of the Wealth of Nations', (and other of his
writings, as well) Adam Smith explains the concept of the "invisible
hand" by which each individual looking out solely for his or her own
self-interest nonetheless organically supports and improves the
well-being and prosperity of the whole community. America's
founders and the framers of the United States Constitution, who
were close students of Smith's work and wisdom, employed the same
principle in their establishment of the federal tax structure.
That structure, which makes the imposition of
capitations and other direct taxes politically-difficult, is designed to ensure that federal
revenue reliance would necessarily be upon
excises, the incidences of which are
entirely within the control of each individual citizen. Because each
citizen naturally attends to his or her own financial well being by
limiting such incidences, the Founders' structure, like a mighty invisible
hand energized by hundreds of millions of individual self-interests,
relentlessly keeps the state lean and on the leash-- when that
structure is
functioning as intended and is not nobbled by ignorance and
Leviathan-serving mythology and disinformation.
We had the benefit of that disciplinary dynamic during our first 140 years or so.
Then, in the early 1940s, we blew it.
Under the influence of the strange mass psychology of
wartime, the residual effects of a decade of depression, the
increasingly sophisticated "consent-engineering"
begun during World War I, a relentless and unscrupulous
disinformation and propaganda campaign by progressives in academia
and the media and other factors,
Americans succumbed to a bold subterfuge by an ambitious
power-and-revenue-hungry Washington. The subterfuge involved the
exploitation of what had, thanks to all those factors mentioned
above in conjunction with Congressional adoption of a couple of
statutes cleverly-designed to maximize confusion, become a very
widespread misunderstanding of the true nature of the income tax.
As can be seen by tracking the size of the federal government over
the years, the success of this subterfuge was the most significant
event in American history:
Rolling things back to the pre-subterfuge
status quo will be the second most significant event in American
history-- this time a positive one.
THE STATE IS ONCE AGAIN RESTRAINED. Forced to operate on an actual
budget, the federal government has to pick and choose what
activities are most critically important and of genuine
near-universal interest to the people. There is no expensive army of
two
million arrogant bureaucrats justifying their fat paychecks by
contriving rationalizations for interfering in the lives of the rest
of us, backed by another hugely expensive army of 100,000 attorneys
with the leisure and funding to figure out ways to evade the law on
behalf of every ambition of an unrestrained State.
Washington is unable to evade the fiscal discipline of
a tax structure confined to its actual subjects and its
Constitutional limitations.
It cannot and will not turn to inflation because that gimmick is too unavoidably noticeable
and too guaranteed to arouse ire, even when fiat money is being
otherwise tolerated-- something which itself is a good deal less
likely among a population with an understanding of the "income" tax.
Nor is Washington able to borrow excessively. Its
restrained circumstances are widely recognized, and it is known to
be a sketchy credit risk, having already been forced to repudiate or
drastically restructure its previous debt.
Efforts to expand federal revenues by heavier reliance
on obnoxious and legally-dubious mechanisms like "asset forfeiture"
or excessive fees or fines backfire. Increased resort to these
draws correspondingly increased public attention to them, as well,
resulting in the welcome reform or repeal of the abused and abusive
processes long before the abuse has any chance of meaningfully
re-energizing Leviathan.
Instead, the federal government has resumed reliance in
large part on an across-the-board (non-protectionist) revenue tariff
for financing its activities. Because of the State's need to
maximize the take from this practice, even imports by American-based
companies from their own "off-shore" production facilities are
subjected to the tax. The incentives for off-shoring jobs has thus
been re-balanced in favor of keeping those jobs local.
At the same
time the cost of manufacturing locally (and therefore the
price-point required for locally-made products) has been
dramatically reduced by the melting away of the hugely expensive,
stifling and petty regulatory state by which American operations had
been burdened. More jobs are staying in this country, and many are
returning here.
ALL IN ALL, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE are back to dealing
with, and enjoying the benefits of, a lean federal government once
again constrained to its core Constitutional purposes as WE meant
(and mean) them to be understood-- if only because it hasn't got the
resources to misbehave. We are back to the government of the turn of
the twentieth century, when government at all levels combined
consumed less than 10% of our wealth, and when it was observed that
an American could go his entire life without any contact with a
federal official other than the guy who delivered his mail.
At this point the federal government takes in-- and
spends no more than-- around $1 trillion or so annually. The amount
is rising as the overall economy grows ever-more vigorous since
being freed of the enormous drag of a bloated non-productive sector
and the crippling distortions of constant political interference,
but it's proportion of the GDP is falling toward an historical
average of 4% or so. (This federal revenue figure could and would
adjust as needed if America suffered a disaster of some kind, or got
invaded by a foreign power-- something so unlikely as to be
laughable, but which theoretically could happen. In such a case the
American people can be relied upon to contribute whatever is
necessary in blood, sweat and treasure to deal with the situation--
before once again closing their purses).
Perhaps $150 billion of that notional $1 trillion is
being spent on maintaining our already enormous strategic
deterrent/response capability and keeping up an appropriately-sized
rapid-deployment defense force. This is still more than any other
country on the planet spends on its military-- indeed, it's more
than double what Russia spent this year.
The tight-belted United States has ended the expensive
practice of garrisoning troops all over the world by which you and I
subsidize the economies of foreigners by sparing them the costs of
defending themselves. We're also done delivering enormous subsidies
to the munitions manufacturers simply to acquire a gross excess of
killing capability which ends up used to murder people in other
countries and generate massive hatred toward you and I, the folks
who had allowed and paid for all of this.
The CIA has reverted from being a secret parallel war
department and returned to intelligence-gathering and evaluation.
Valueless, expensive and obnoxious gestures like the TSA (which
demonstrably protects no one from anything except convenience,
comfort and courtesy when traveling) have fallen by the wayside.
Police departments are no longer being militarized by donations from
the federal war machine of tanks, assault rifles, grenades, drones,
and other equipment.
THE REST OF WHAT WASHINGTON TAKES IN goes to
maintaining the courts and the government infrastructure, delivering
the mail, and other Constitutionally-mandated responsibilities.
Nothing is left over for gratuitous or politically-motivated
messing-about with the average Americans' pursuit of happiness.
Organic food and "alternate medicine" producers and
consumers are no longer prosecuted. People using their own property
in ways that produce no demonstrable harm to anyone are no longer
victimized for merely offending some bureaucratic purpose and edict.
The financial affairs of most Americans are no longer
subject to constant intrusive scrutiny and reporting; you can throw
a stone in Washington DC without hitting twenty lobbyists; ministers
no longer feel obliged to censor themselves politically in order to
preserve a tax-related status about which no one cares anymore.
Journalists no longer wish to be courtiers to what is no longer an
imperial immensity and which no longer has something to say or do
about everything under the sun.
I COULD GO ON AND ON. But really, you can do so
yourself. All you have to do to get a good sense of how this plays
out is consider a federal government with strict limits on its
resources, allowing for a total of about one-fifth as much as it has
now. Keep in mind that people are going to continue to push for
expenditures on what is important to them, so the things that get
done are going to very much be the fairly small number of truly
important things on which majorities of the American people actually
agree-- functional courts; adequate and rational defense; a
compassionate but disciplined "safety net"; and a few others.
DO think about it, please. The picture you bring to
mind will NOT be a 'pie-in-the-sky' vision. Instead it will actually
be a photograph of how this country was just a few decades ago, and
how it easily can be again. All that is necessary
is for understanding of
the truth about the tax
to spread, and
all that is necessary for that to happen at this point is for
everyone who already knows that truth to stand up loud and proud in
word and deed.
Five Infuriating Takeaways From The 'Afghanistan
Papers'
Lies, spin, over a trillion dollars
wasted, and no strategy. They knew for 18 years and
no one said a thing.
by Barbara Boland
After an extensive investigation
and a three-year long Freedom of Information Act
legal battle, The Washington Post released a
trove of documents entitled the Afghanistan Papers
Monday, and there’s a staggering amount of
infuriating information contained therein.
The trove comes from a project entitled
“Lessons Learned” commissioned by the Office of the
Special Inspector General for Afghanistan
Reconstruction (SIGAR.) As part of the project,
SIGAR staff interviewed over 600 people with
firsthand knowledge of the war, including generals,
diplomats, aid workers, and Afghan officials.
There’s over two thousand pages of
previously unpublished documents and notes from
interviews showing that the U.S. government
deliberately misled Americans about the progress of
the war in Afghanistan and proffered misleading and
dishonest claims that senior officials knew were
untrue. The title “Afghanistan Papers” is an
unflattering nod by The Washington Post to
the Pentagon Papers, which exposed the lies by
the government in the Vietnam War.
1) The government
suppressed its own “Lessons Learned”
Probably the biggest unintentional
irony is the Pentagon’s title for the project:
“Lessons Learned.” “The $11 million project was
meant to diagnose policy failures in Afghanistan so
the United States would not repeat the mistakes the
next time it invaded a country or tried to rebuild a
shattered one,” reports The Washington Post.
Instead, the witnesses’
first-hand accounts and unvarnished truths
were suppressed for years. SIGAR instead
published documents “written in dense
bureaucratic prose and focused on an
alphabet soup of government initiatives”
leaving “out the harshest and most frank
criticisms from the interviews.” The only
reason these accounts are seeing the light
of day is because the Post was able to
withstand years of legal battle—which
continues—as the U.S. District Court has yet
to rule that the public has a right to know
which public officials misled the American
people on the war. The paper decided to
publish in the meantime.
SO, I THINK I HARDLY NEED SAY MUCH as a
follow-up to Boland's observations in the article
above... This little will suffice:
As usual, you and I and
everyone else except the recipients of that
trillion dollars which was pissed away
making widows and orphans and lifelong
enemies of America in Afghanistan HAVE BEEN
GETTING SCREWED. Even those of us who
haven't been directly paying out all that
money are living in an economy impoverished
by its having been left as brass and bodies
and blown-up infrastructure elsewhere rather
than spent on worthwhile things here at
home.
And that's not to mention the
poignant tragedy of American lives lost or
ruined in this creepy sociopathic
exploitation of power, which were in harm's
way as pathetic victims of a state-nurtured
delusion that they were sacrificing
themselves for some noble and worthwhile
purpose. It's enough to make your skin
crawl.
You, as a
CtC-educated American reading these
words, are possessed of a huge power to make
things right for you and your kids. Heck,
you're a super-hero.
You just have to really get up
on your feet, and really start acting like
one.
I HAVE DONE MY BEST to lead this country
to liberty from the mis-applied income tax. I have labored
hard. I've shed a lot of sweat, a fair bit of blood
and more than a few tears. But I seem to be pretty poor
at that kind of work.
When I have asked all of you for what I
firmly believe is a necessary resource to move the ball
downfield and give all of us the best chance at justice
and an end to the assault on the rule of law-- simple
testimonial videos requiring nothing from any of you
but the phone in your pocket and three minutes of speaking
from the heart-- I have had only a handful of people
answer my call.
I CAN'T KEEP GOING THIS WAY. I have to
be able to turn my attention away from writing new persuasive
or skepticism-addressing articles week after week, and
toward research, analysis and educational presentations
that will benefit everyone already in this community.
I need time to do some suing, and to bring together
the resources and talent toward that end.
As said, it is my firm belief that your
testimonial videos are the resource that I need to make
big things happen, and they are unquestionably the thing
I need to allow me to turn my attention away from trying
to get horses to drink at the waterhole to which I have
led them. Your words, in your great numbers and all
in your own different ways, will do that better than
anything I write possibly could.
And yet, you are not providing them. This,
despite my having been asking you for them for many
years now.
Therefore, with enormous reluctance, I
am making portions of this website restricted access
only. People have been urging me to do this for years
now, telling me I should impose a charge to access my
work-product, so as to enable me to keep producing.
I have never been inclined to charge fees
for access. I ask for donations, and will continue to
do that, and if they do not come, then I will conclude
that my work is of no value to anyone, and I will close
shop.
But I now WILL charge a special
something for access to some key portions of that
work.
Opening selected pages on
losthorizons.com comprising higher level legal
resources now requires the submission of qualifying testimonial
videos, as discussed, described and demonstrated
here.
The videos must be accompanied by scans of a recent
educated filing along with responsive documents from
the IRS, whether in the form of a check, a notice
identifying and reflecting the filed return, or
"return" and "account" transcripts for the year for
which the return was filed. Names must be shown in
full.
Similarly, if
an email comes my way asking for guidance or assistance,
I had better already have your video posted.
I HATE TO PLAY IT THIS WAY. But I want
to win.
I'll tell you a story from when I was coaching
my kids in soccer. Both of my kids at a certain age
in their careers had run into a wall common to all but
the very exceptional. They had gotten to be pretty good,
and they wanted to enjoy the benefits of their hard
work. But the arrival of this interest coincided with
a new self-consciousness which made them reluctant to
risk failing and looking foolish. So, they were hanging
back from seizing the main chance when it appeared,
and driving for the goal.
My solution was to post on the wall of
our dining room a couple of simple points about self-discipline,
the chief of which is this: You can't score a goal if
you don't take a shot.
That's how it is here, too. If you don't
stand up, you are laying down, and you'll never score
that goal.
Here is what my kids live by now, in their
own version of that lesson. I hear it from them all
the time as they excel (accompanied by the sound of
a father's breast swelling with pride): Go hard,
or go home.
You, too. Go hard, or go home.
Send those videos.
Do I ask for a lot? I want your victories
to post, your financial support, your efforts at spreading
the word, and your beautiful faces and inspiring words,
too. It IS a lot.
But it's not too much. I'll let Thomas Paine explain:
"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered;
yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder
the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we
obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows
how to put a proper price on its goods; and it would
be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as freedom
should not be highly rated.”
We each have our reasons, and our story.
It's time, and it's needed, for you to share yours with
the world.
"The day we see truth and do not speak
is the day we begin to die."
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
What does it for you?
Is it simply because no moral and upstanding
person has any choice when it comes to telling the truth
over his or her signature, whether on tax forms or anywhere
else?
Is it recognition of the critical importance
of the rule of law, and the knowledge that if everybody
leaves its caretaking to someone else, it will soon
be lost to us completely?
Is it the money?
Maybe it's just simple respect for your
own rights as a human being, who is not and cannot be
not involuntarily subordinated to others?
Maybe it's just simple respect for your
general civic responsibility to be the grown-up and
enforce frugality and restraint on a big, powerful creature
of our own devising which otherwise is like a badly-raised
teenage boy given whiskey and car keys and let loose
on the road to wreak havoc?
Or is it, perhaps, a more acute anxiety
that if our bonfire of a state isn't damped, and quickly,
it'll soon burn down the house around us all?
What IS it that firms up your jaw and stiffens
your resolve?
It's time to take off the bushel and
share your light!
I would like you to think about what it
is that motivates you for a few moments (or all day,
if you like), and then send me your thoughts. I want
to put YOUR reasons to work inspiring folks who don't
yet understand what this is all about.
In this day and age, the most effective
way for you to share your thinking for the benefit of
others is to video-record yourself talking about how
you feel, and explaining what inspires and motivates
YOU.
All you need is a webcam or cell-phone
equipped with a camera. If you don't have, or know how
to use, one of these, have a friend help. (And if
you use a cell-phone, please have the orientation
horizontal, not vertical-- that is, so that the
screen of the phone on which you are watching
yourself while taping looks like a TV or movie
screen.)
If needed, write a little script for yourself.
Better, though, to just speak extemporaneously, after
spending a little time sorting out your thoughts and
getting down into your heart. Perhaps make it a video
of someone in your family, or a close friend, interviewing
you.
Dress "business casual". Be well-groomed.
Keep yourself to no more than 2 or 3 minutes,
and keep in mind that the purpose is
not to educate,
but to INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE and ENERGIZE. Your video will
be one of many to be shared. If you need to go
longer to really say your piece, go for it (but long
or short I may edit if something strikes me as
wandering or off-key or unacceptable).
You needn't feel any obligation to be profound,
and you shouldn't try to explain anything about the
law, other than to say that you have read it and you
know it's on your side. You just need to be sincere,
and uplifting. Your object is to make your audience
want to have what you have, and to be where you are
in your heart.
Don't talk to ME, or to others in the
CtC-educated community. Make remarks that are suited
to the NON-CtC-educated community, and at the same
time, be mindful that you're speaking to an
audience that doesn't yet know ANYTHING about the subject,
and whose first reaction is, "This must be illegal;
this must be dangerous; this is too good to be true."
You want to pull that audience right past such things,
and straight to a focus on truth, morality, and our
American heritage of liberty and the rule of law.
Remember: INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE, ENERGIZE.
Speak about rights. Speak about morality,
and the obligation of a grown-up and responsible person
to speak the truth and to enforce the Constitution.
Speak about everyone's duty
to give to God what is God's, always, and to Caesar
only what is really Caesar's. Speak of your obligation
to respect yourself, and to look out for the current
and future well-being of your children and your fellow
citizens. Speak of
CtC, and what its information has done for your
understanding and resolve. Show the book.
If you have had victories, describe them.
Better still, show them, if possible.
Be clear about just what you accomplished:
EVERYTHING back-- Social Security, Medicare and all;
a "notice of deficiency" closing notice; an on-paper
agreement or acknowledgment that your earnings weren't
subject to the tax and everything withheld or paid-in
was an "overpayment"; a transcript showing all $0s;
or whatever happened.
When you speak of state victories, name
the state. If you had to overcome balkiness from a tax
agency before winning any victory, describe that, too!
If you're in a battle now, speak of your
resolve to uphold the law, come what may. If you haven't
yet begun to act, speak of your decision to do so, and
your plans.
Remember, your purpose is to INSPIRE, ENCOURAGE
and ENERGIZE.
If you're dealing with ongoing balkiness,
describe that, too, if you wish-- but be sure to explain
why you're not discouraged, and why you are not standing
down, not slinking back into the barn, and not choosing
to endorse the lies.
Identify yourself. Anonymity is for criminals and self-doubters, not
CtC
warriors. Naming yourself is a requirement, and your
name will appear as a subtitle on the video when I
prepare it for posting, in any event.
Mention what you do for a living, whether
you're a doctor, homemaker, lawyer, trucker, IT guy
or gal, or a retiree or student. Help people understand
that the company of grown-up activist Americans they
are being invited to join cuts across all demographics
and all interests-- with the common denominator being
respect for the law and love of the principles on which
this great country was founded.
This is your chance to get a LOT accomplished.
We've all had frustrating occasions of
trying to explain all this to a friend, neighbor, family
member or co-worker, only to pile up against the wall
of a mind not yet ready to listen and learn. Here is
your chance to address a self-selected audience of folks
who have themselves decided that it's time for them
to begin paying attention, and have clicked on your
testimonial for exactly that reason.
Further, think about this: You want judges,
bureaucrats, CPAs, lawyers, the HR people where you
work, your pastors, your neighbors and everyone else
to acknowledge the truth about the tax openly and straightforwardly.
How and why would these folks do this if YOU won't?
You want these folks to learn the truth.
Why would they even recognize that there is a truth
to be learned if you won't attest to having learned
it yourself? You've got to stand up, face forward and
chin up and tell these folks that you have studied and
checked and verified and seen the evidence and seen
the government evasions and you know that the tax is
not the capitation that the beneficiary government wants
everyone to think it is but a benign, strictly limited
thing, and that they need to study and learn that, too.
Again, if you have victories to show, that's
nice, and powerful, too. But you don't have to have
victories to display in order to declare your knowledge
of what the law says. I've never flown around the world,
but I've seen the evidence and considered the arguments,
and I'm not hesitant to declare it a sphere...
Even those of you who haven't yet studied
CtC have surely read
this short document, and have verified everything
in it for yourself. You should therefore be declaring
its veracity and its message, loud and proud. Again,
if you won't say it, how can you hope that others will
ever even bother to look at the facts?
Be the change you want to see in the world,
or there won't be any change.
So, please make and send those videos
right away! You can share them with me via a cloud-based
drive space like OneDrive.Live.com or GoogleDrive
(give access permission to
stategroups@losthorizons.com), or
mail DVDs to me at 232 Oriole St., Commerce Twp., Michigan
48382, or even email to me if each file is no more than
20 megs (and you can break a video up if need be-- I
can reassemble them). Render as .mpg or mp4, if possible;
if not, send them how you have them and I'll make them
work.
BTW: An encouraging and inspiring
video will earn you access to the restricted pages
on losthorizons.com and membership in the National
Forum if you have also sent me a recent educated
federal filing and IRS response (or relevant
"return" or "account" transcript). I will be the
judge of whether your submissions qualify
for access, but if you do your best you should do
fine.
Remember, the restoration of institutional
respect for individual rights and the rule of law depends
on enough individuals insisting upon it. Do your part
to let those starting to rub the sleep from their eyes
know that there is a community already waiting for their
fellowship with open arms and open hearts and shining
spirits.
See how some of your fellow warriors for
the truth have done their parts in videos sent over
the years, many of which are posted
here.

Getting Free Of The "Income" Tax Scheme Is As Easy As
Falling Off A Bike
To get an idea of how today's "income" tax scheme works,
try this little exercise:
Think of the federal government as a guy named Bob,
who lives down the street from you in a town that is
really big on bicycles. Bikes get used for commuting,
deliveries, shopping, etc.. In fact, other than walking,
bicycles are the exclusive form of transportation in
your town.
Your neighbor Bob has a by-the-mile bicycle-renting
business-- "Bob's Bicycles". Bob's Bicycles is far and
away the biggest business in town.
Part of Bob’s success is because he does a lot of contract
business. However, Bob doesn't just get paid by riders
who have signed an agreement with him, or even just
those using Bob's bikes. Bob gets something every time
anybody in town does any riding at all, through an odd
combination of circumstances that took many years to
come together.
Here's how it happened...
Bob's Bicycles was launched long ago by the great grandfather
of the present Bob (Bob IV). Great Grandpa Bob started
out not only with a main location for his contract business--
he also had the bright idea of setting up spots around
town where he parked some of his bikes for use by the
more occasional rider, on an "honor system". Anyone
could take and use one of these bikes, but they were
expected to keep track of their mileage, and send Bob
a "1040 Mileage Ridden/Rent Due Form" (and the appropriate
rent), periodically. The initial design of the form
was like this:
I, ______________,
rode a Bob's Bicycle a total of _____ miles
this year.
At Bob's rental
rate of $.15 per mile, I owe Bob $______
I said that Great Grandpa Bob planned to deal with these
occasional riders on the "honor system", and that's
true. But he liked his money, too, and didn't want to
miss anything that was due him. So, after setting up
the "self-serve" locations, Great Grandpa Bob went around
handing out "W-2, 1099 or K-1 Rider Reporting Forms"
to every other business in town. The forms-- accompanied
by notices that if Bob didn't get his rent from someone
riding a bicycle in connection with any business, he
would sue the company involved-- said:
You Can’t Fight Well When You Don’t Know
What You’re Fighting About
If you are having an argument
with the IRS or any other tax agency,
You are NOT being presumed to have made “corporate
profit”.
You are NOT being alleged to have received “foreign
income”.
You are NOT entangled in an invisible “adhesion
contract”.
You are NOT being obligated by a law whose subject
is never identified.
You are being targeted because REAL EVIDENCE exists
that YOU PERSONALLY HAD “INCOME” to which the revenue laws apply--
even though that evidence is almost certainly incorrect,
and CAN be corrected.

Doing A Little High-Payoff Math
IF EACH PERSON receiving this newsletter each week distributed as
few as 100 of any of
the great outreach tools featured here to co-workers, friends,
neighbors and family members (or just strangers on the street, in
the mall, etc...), we could have SEVERAL MILLION new Americans
suddenly introduced to the liberating truth about the tax!
Just like that! In one week!
C'mon, people, let's roll on this!
“Most of the important things in the
world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when
there seemed to be no hope at all.”
When directed to a page by topic or link, read everything.
I know that this can mean the investment of a lot of time, attention
and effort, but although some may imagine otherwise, I don't write
as much as I do because I can't think of any other way to spend
my time...
Furthermore, when you encounter a hyperlink within, or associated
with, the text you are reading, follow it!
It is pretty common these days for web-based material to be littered
with hyperlinks. Sometimes the purpose is to provide definitions
or examples, in order to ensure that folks reading the original
material aren't presented with a word or reference which they don't
understand. Sometimes the links lead to illustrations pertinent
to the original text.
It is common-- and perfectly understandable-- for folks who are
confident that they are familiar with language or references within
the main text they are reading to get in the habit of skipping over
included links. I do it all the time, myself!
However, I very rarely include links for definitional or explanatory
purposes; and when I DO make a link out of text in one page it is
generally to another self-contained page, rather than merely illustrative
material. These other pages contain material the clear understanding
of which I deem highly important for the proper and complete understanding
of the original page. (Links to
CtC, the
Victories pages,
CtC Warriors and so on are obvious exceptions to this general
rule. On the other hand, a link to the victory
Highlights or 'Every
Which Way But Loose' pages, which might seem like such exceptions,
are not. The special selection of victories on those pages, and
the filed docs and tax-agency correspondences included therewith,
themselves constitute highly instructive material which merits careful
attention. Thus care needs to be taken in all cases.)
Please make a habit of clicking on all provided links and at least
looking briefly to ensure that the linked page is one with which
you are completely familiar from another study session.
Finally, please keep in mind that, annoying though it may seem at
first blush (but not, I trust, upon reflection), I constantly tweak
material already posted. Obviously this doesn't mean that every
page is in flux at all times, but it does mean that if you are directed
to a page that IS familiar, it's worthwhile to read it through again
if it's been a while since your last having done so.
December 16- In 1773, patriots in Boston brew tea in the harbor. In
1965, General William Westmoreland asks Defense Secretary McNamara to send
243,000 more young American men to Vietnam. In 1989, Robert Smith Vance becomes
the third United States federal judge killed during the 1980s in response to his
judicial rulings. In 1998, the United States and Britain do a little gratuitous
bombing of Iraq in an effort to distract public attention from the impeachment
proceedings going on against Bill Clinton. In 2007, Presidential candidate Ron
Paul raises a record $6 million+ in 24 hours.
Anniversaries of interest for
each day of this week will be found throughout the newsletter mid-edition update
below.
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above
may not be a current edition. CHECK. It
matters. Also, there ARE no e-book, Kindle
or .pdf versions of
CtC. Don't get taken in by efforts to
sell you-- or even give you for free-- any
such thing.

Illuminating anniversaries of this week:
December 17- In 1862, Major-General Ulysses S. Grant issues an
order expelling all Jews from Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky for
alleged participation in a black market of Southern cotton being sold to
Northern mills. Public outcry forces the rescinding of the order a few
weeks later-- Grant sheepishly claims that a subordinate had written the
order, and he had signed it without reading it. In 1903, the Wright
brothers make it happen at Kitty Hawk. In 1957, the United States
successfully launches the first Atlas ICBM. In 1969, the first
Strategic Arms Limitation Talks begin between the United States and the
Soviet Union over controlling the proliferation of ICBMs. In 2007, the
Republic of Lakotah, comprising territory from North and South Dakota,
Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska, declares its independence from the United
States. In 2010, Mohammed Bouazizi sets himself on fire in protest at
the US-supported despotic regime of Zine El Abadine Ben Ali, sparking a
revolution which ousted the Ben Ali and his government 29 days later.
In 2014, the United States, having acknowledged that its 55-years of
sanctions against Cuba were an abject failure at their ostensible goal
of prompting regime change by revolution, re-establishes normal
relations.

that the United States will spend the Christmas season bombing North Vietnam.
In 2002, California governor Gray Davis admits that the deficit faced by the
state is actually about double the $17 billion or so he acknowledged during his

An old joke, but in regard to this deceiver,
not a laughing matter at all.
