There's more to the Constitution than the political class would like the rest of
us to understand:
February 24- In 1803, the United States Supreme Court issues
its decision in Marbury v. Madison, asserting its power of "judicial review".
In 1839, William Otis receives a patent for the steam shovel. In 1863, the
western half of New Mexico Territory is carved off to become Arizona Territory.
In 1893, the American University is chartered by Congress. In 1920, the German
Worker's Party adds "National Socialist" to its name, thus becoming the "Nazi
Party". In 1970, National Public Radio is founded. In 1989, a United Airlines
flight from Hawaii to New Zealand suffers a fuselage breach over the Pacific. 9
passengers are sucked out of the plane. In 2008, Fidel Castor retires after
fifty years as dictator of Cuba. During most of that period a United States
embargo succeeded in contributing mightily to the impoverishment of the Cuban
people, while also preventing the uplifting subversion that exposure to the
prosperity of a free society would have engendered, and all without doing
anything whatever to unseat the despotic Castro regime...

The Fourth Branch
...of government, that is-- which is to say, "the people".
AS HAPPENS WITH DISTURBING REGULARITY, a little wave of
Constitution-bashing has recently erupted, especially within the minarchist- and
anarchist-oriented "alt-media". Each such instance deploys or relies
upon some version of Lysander Spooner's famous assertion in 'No
Treason' that "[W]hether the Constitution really be one thing, or
another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a
government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it."
Each such instance of Constitution-bashing also displays or
relies upon an astonishing ignorance of some inconveniently contrary
historical facts, such as the fact that SOMETHING prevented the rise of
the corrupt Leviathan state for some 140 years after the adoption of
that Constitution, as shown in this graph reflecting the overall size of
the federal government from 1792-- shortly after the adoption of the
current version of the Constitution-- until 2004 (and to which can be
added in the mind's eye a great deal more upward growth since that
latter date):
This chart of the federal government's size over time shows
a virtual flat-line history of a statelet small enough to be drowned in
a bathtub (comparatively speaking) up until the early 1940s. That
statelet is emphasized in its consistent insignificance by the couple of
relatively tiny and brief expansions during the conquest of the southern
states and World War I.
The chart also shows the dramatic change that occurred
not coincident with the advent of any Constitutional event, but
with the implementation of the "ignorance tax" scheme in the early
1940s--80 years after the inception of the income tax and 30 years after
the 16th Amendment (which had done nothing but close an 1895
judicially-declared loophole shielding
federally-privileged rent and dividends from the tax on what the
1916 Supreme Court properly called
"a mistaken theory deduced
from the origin or source of the income taxed"):
That dramatic change is, of course, the advent of the
Leviathan decried by today's Constitution-bashers (who should look back
at the time of Spooner's complaint--1867--as shown on this graph and
realize that for all his virtues, Spooner may not be the fellow whose
perspectives are to be relied upon in evaluating matters related to
"runaway government"...).
THIS BRINGS US TO THE REALLY
SIGNIFICANT IGNORANCE suffered by the punditry engaged in chronic
Constitution-bashing: ignorance of the true nature of the income tax.
What is misunderstood by those pundits, and what is reflected in the
graphs above (and more-or-less spelled out in the second of those
graphs) is that the income tax is
an indirect excise tax,
application of which is entirely in the control of the individual
(natural or artificial) involved.
Liability for the tax hinges on the voluntary exercise of
excisable activities. This is something no one is obliged to do (and
doesn't include the mere making of money-- one can make $billions and
live like a king while never doing anything subject to the tax).
Because the income tax is limited as it is, and because
alternative methods of financing the state-- basically,
apportioned direct taxes and revenue tariffs-- are themselves
constrained by their own limited scope or political weaknesses, it has
only been the widespread ignorance of those income tax limitations that
has furnished the fuel by which the little drownable statelet has grown
into the 8,000 lb. monster now terrorizing both
liberty-and-rule-of-law-minded Americans and the rest of the world, as
well.
THE FACT IS, the tax structure set up and hard-wired into
the US Constitution by the Founding generation puts control over
resources available to the state directly and entirely in the hands of
the people. The exercise of that control requires no cooperation by any
state official, inconveniences the individual exercising it in no way
whatsoever, and cannot lawfully be thwarted.
The American people thus comprise a fourth branch
of government, just as expressly recognized in the Constitution as are
the legislature, the executive and the judiciary instituted by way of
that instrument. That fourth branch goes unnamed therein because the
people of which it is composed-- being the sovereign creators of the
other branches-- stand before, above and outside of that subordinate
chartering instrument, even while having built into it tools exclusively
for their own use in their capacity as the
master branch.
Succinctly put, the people, through the tax provision
limitations, provided themselves with a regulatory dial by which they
can control the size of the state, up to and including a full-stop "kill
switch", to enable the bloodless prevention or correction of a runaway
state, just as would any forethoughtful creator of any kind of otherwise
powerful and potentially-dangerous mechanism. (Other fourth-branch tools
helping to illustrate the principle include
the jury power,
prohibitions of state interference with speech and assembly and
the
provision of the Second Amendment as a fall-back against the
possible insufficiency of the others.)
IN LIGHT OF THE FOREGOING, it becomes clear that the
problem has never been the Constitution. On the contrary, the
Constitution, properly understood, should be recognized as the
brilliant, liberty-respecting, Leviathan-preventing instrument that it
really is, the knowledgeable implementation of which produced that first
140 years of tiny, relatively-harmless statelet shown in the graphs
above.
The problem is simple ignorance-- ignorance, in particular,
of the true nature of the income tax. It is not the Constitution that
has proven inadequate. It is the preservation of the people's knowledge
that has failed us, and sadly, every pundit that bashes the Constitution
is also guilty of helping perpetuate and cement into place widespread
public ignorance of the tax.
The remedy is still at hand, though. Ignorance of the tax
hasn't changed its true nature.

asleep--they have been surprised; divided--the yoke has been forced upon
them. But what is the lesson?…the people ought to be enlightened, to be

watch over it....It is universally admitted that a well-instructed
people alone can be permanently free."

Back-door Barr; the assault on Assange; Anti-Israel versus
Anti-Semitism; and no, the health of the Great Lakes is NOT a "national
security" issue.
Privacy v. Policing, or, AG William Barr Wants
To Be America's "Back-Door" Man
WORD TO ATTORNEY GENERAL WILLIAM BARR (who
is once again thumping the drum for back-doors into otherwise secure
devices and communications): The solid security of individual
privacy is FAR more important a public good than a robust ability of the
law enforcement apparatus to penetrate that privacy. After all, a robust
law enforcement ability to penetrate privacy could (and surely would) be
turned to the foul purpose of thwarting any design of the People to
exercise their authority-- indeed, their duty--
to throw off and abolish the
current state, should it come to be widely enough seen as adverse to
our well-being.
Such a critically-important design would rest heavily on
the ability of individuals to communicate privately with each other, as
well as their ability to assemble and otherwise coordinate activities
free from any prying eyes of the state. In today's world, this makes
uncompromised encryption capability in the hands of every American a
critically-important civic good.
Uncompromised privacy is also the norm, here in America, especially. Contrary
to the Nazi-like notions of AG Barr, the government has no more proper
authority or valid need to pry into every conversation recorded on a
cell-phone than it does to listen in to every conversation between two
people sitting on a park bench.
AS FOR THE MATTER of other kinds of data stored on a
device, no effort to access that data could be valid or lawful without
law enforcement already being in possession of meaningful evidence from
other sources which is sufficient by itself to establish probable cause
that the allegedly-stored material constituted evidence of a crime. That
prior evidence would have to be compelling to justify a warrant.
Couple that prior compelling evidence with a
then-persistent refusal of the target to yield access and a competent
prosecutor should have enough to take into a courtroom and present to a
jury. That jury could itself order the target to grant access or face
conviction on the reasonable suspicion engendered by the refusal.
On the
other hand, if that prior evidence were not compelling enough for the
foregoing to play out as described, then it likely isn't sufficient to
justify looking into the target's papers and effects at all.
Back under your rock, Back-Door Barr.

The Outrageous Assault On Julian Assange
LET'S BE STRAIGHT, HERE: The assault on Julian Assange is
for the express and exclusive purpose of deterring anyone from exposing
criminal acts by United States officials to the eyes of the American
people to whom those officials answer.
This assault is indistinguishable from that of a mob boss
ordering a hit on a witness who has threatened to go to the police and
expose HIS crimes. It is indefensible, and blackly corrupt.
Anyone with a hint of brain-power should recognize that
this crime is the über-crime-- the crime meant to mid-wife into
place a completely unaccountable criminal state. The people can't
exercise their power of oversight when they can be kept from knowing
what their servants have done (or are doing). It must be strenuously
opposed in every possible way.

Anti-Israel-Policy Is Not Anti-Semitism
THERE'S BEEN A VERY VIGOROUS EFFORT UNDERWAY by Israeli
propagandists and their counterparts in Britain and the US (at least) to
suppress critics of Israeli policies and behaviors
under the pretense that such criticism is actually an expression of
Anti-Semitism. Frankly, the resort to this absurd conflation simply underscores the indefensibility of the
denounced policies-- after all, why engage in any kind of dodge,
manifestly absurd or not, rather than just defend the policies, if that
is possible?
This false equivalency effort invites the question of
whether those who oppose Russian policies should be deemed guilty of
Anti-Slavism, or critics of Chinese policies or practices as guilty of
Anti-Asiaticism (or whatever the proper term would be...)? Obviously all
such efforts are ridiculous and false, and those who promote them should
be shamed and denounced.
In any event, let me put the title issue to bed: I would
criticize Israeli behaviors toward the Palestinians and in being a major
and full-time war-monger in the Middle East (among
other things) even if the entire Jewish
population of the country moved out and was replaced by Swedes, or New
England WASPs, or Saudi Arabians.
"Semitism" has nothing to do with it. It's the nature of
the crimes that matters.

The Condition Of The Great Lakes Is Not A
National Security Issue
THE SWAMP-CREATURE SOCIOPATH (redundant, I know) calling itself
"Madeline Albright" (who famously said during its tenure as Secretary of
State that 500,000 dead Iraqi children in the '90s thanks to US infrastructure bombings
followed by murderous sanctions was "[W]orth it...") has lately
characterized "environmental issues" affecting the Great Lakes a "matter
of national security".
No, Maddy, and obviously no. Our national well-being might be
arguably at stake in the environmental health of the Great Lakes, but
not our national security.
But let me explain why this absurd language is being
deployed.
THROUGHOUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20th Century, an
increasingly junior-varsity Congress delegated vast discretionary powers
to the presidency available for unconstrained exercise whenever
"national security" was allegedly at stake. Most of these powers are of
the "PATRIOT Act section 215" variety-- baldly violative of the
Constitution, under the excuse that they are "keeping us safe" (from
whatever has been trotted onstage as the hobgoblin of
the day).
The delegations were/are unconstitutional for reasons
beyond the nature of the powers they purport to grant, since they
amount to giving legislative power to the executive. However, the judges
that might say so are all appointed by the president, and are not
selected for their august offices for their inclination to thwart the
ambitions of their appointer.
At the same time, repealing the delegations would require a
veto-proof solidarity on the part of a super-majority in Congress. This
is something as hard to come by as an honest politician.
Thus, until
the CtC remedy is
deployed by the Fourth Branch, such delegations-- illegal as they are--
stand as the statist quo, putting vast power to act without constraint
into the hands of executive officers sharing the power madness of
creatures like Albright.
Because of the terms of these illegal delegations, a
preliminary step to using them to exercise power unauthorized by the
Constitution is pitching the proposition that the exercise is a "matter
of national security".
Hoot and holler such contrivances into oblivion whenever
they are encountered.
(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Efforts to suppress truth are necessarily subtle, and
exploit truth-lovers' natural virtues.
THE TROLL UNDER THE BRIDGE from the fairy tale 'The
Billy Goats Gruff' is a great metaphor for the efforts of selfish
interests to hamper or discourage the crossing of consciousness from
ignorance to knowledge, or the crossing of knowledge from one to many.
Or so it seems to me.
In any event, the term "troll" has been broadly adopted in
the internet age to label and condemn participants in a dialogue whose
purpose is destructive rather than constructive. Generally speaking,
"trolls" are uninvited participants, or participants who secure
invitations under false pretenses.
All of these things are pretty well-understood by most
everyone engaging in dialogues, newsgroups and fora on the net.
Less
well-understood is that trolls which appear in certain circumstances are
not driven by purely nihilistic, "want to watch the world burn"
impulses.
Instead these trolls are working an agenda. These trolls
take up residence under certain bridges in order to hobble the
productivity of the other participants-- the efforts of which threaten
the troll's interests or those of his clients and cronies.
CtC
state fora are prime targets for such agenda-driven trolleries.
IN ADDITION TO BEING UNUSUAL for acting on behalf of a
deliberate agenda, trolls targeting
CtC-educated
dialogues (or comments or tweets or other free-standing posts, as well
as fora) are compelled to act overtly in ways a bit unusual for the
species. This is due to the fact that there is no credible means of
disputing or disparaging
CtC's
teachings.
Even the most highly-paid and best-respected legal
specialists the state is able to muster in its efforts to resist those
teachings are forced into outright and ridiculous lies and evasions in
their efforts to do so, as disturbingly shown
here and
here
(to pick just two of many available examples).
So, although
there has been plenty of nonsense injected into the "tax honesty"
community over the decades, anyone weighing in to a
CtC-educated
forum with stubborn insistence that the world is flat would be
immediately and scornfully rejected, and would not hinder constructive
dialogue in any meaningful way. Necessarily, then, the
troll-assault on
CtC-educated groups (or posts) must take a subtler
approach.
Because agenda-driven troll-work is inherently deceptive,
it is impossible to do more than speculate as to its forms. But a great
deal of observation over many years of 48 state groups which are
basically available to any applicant (and the national forum when
membership qualifications were much looser than today) has led me to
conclude that one primary approach taken by trolls to hobble the
CtC
community is to join state groups pretending to be
CtC
"newbies" and then encumber the other members with endless questions or
statements reflecting misunderstanding of one thing or another.
The questions can be about what to do, or how to do it, or
can seek clarification of parts of
CtC. Mis-statements
can involve persistent misuse of terms (such as referring to their
earnings as "wages" despite representing themselves as not being in
"wage"-earning positions).
The, "I don't understand(s)..." can be about anything, but
will either concern things which ARE thoroughly-explained in the book
(and often with further material on
the FAQ pages or
the Digital
Appendix or other resource pages on losthorizons.com) or things which
anyone who actually has read the book would know are irrelevant at best,
if not outright incorrect.
The goal is the exploitation of the natural generosity of
the legitimate group membership. That generosity will prompt the
legitimate group members to let themselves be distracted from the
outreach efforts for which these groups exist in order to lend a helping
hand in response to what they imagine is an honest need, without the
least suspicion or impatience.
OF COURSE, NOT EVERY QUESTION or initial error of
expression, or presentation of mistaken notions is the mendacious work
of trolls. Applicants for state group membership are often
"newbies", who do come in knowing little or nothing (or
hampered in their own minds by "tax honesty" nonsense gotten elsewhere).
Often enough, new members come in with varyingly
complicated situations from past bad practices regarding the tax (again,
usually due to "tax honesty" nonsense).
In these legitimate newbie cases neither the questions
described above, or any of the other distractions, are ill-meant.
Initial questions and misstatements should prompt courteous and generous
corrections and/or directions to the relevant resources in CtC, while
prompting no suspicions.
BUT... ONCE A MEMBER HAS BEEN DIRECTED to where he or she
can find the answers to questions, guidance on particular subjects, or
debunks of erroneous notions, any repeat of the same distractions should
cause antennae to go up. Repeated questions or misstatements-- whether
identical to the first ones or not-- are no longer entitled to
forgiveness, and should be viewed as burdens being deliberately placed
on the group.
Understand that whether these burdens are outright agenda-driven troll-work
or not will remain an open question at all times (in the absence of an
admission or other such evidence). But it is also an irrelevant
question.
Even if repeated distractions are not actual
suppression-agenda trolleries, they are at least an effort at
free-riding, whereby someone seeks to save themselves the trouble of
study by consuming someone else's steam. (Or, though far less likely
than some might believe, they are the product of an ineducable mind.
These folks may mean well, but are incapable of learning how to fish, as it
were. They must await the transformation which is being driven by their
more capable
fellows, after which there will be no more "ignorance tax" scheme to
overwhelm them.)
However, actual "free-riding" behavior being inherently
selfish, and the material about which we are speaking being far from
rocket-science, neither of these alternative explanations for the
persistent injection of distractions is very credible, in my mind. Thus
(and because in any event, the distractions are destructive of the
purposes for the fora, and hence intolerable), all distraction-injection
behavior should be treated as deliberate and ill-meant, insofar as the
nature of the response it receives.
That response should be increasingly sharp reminders that
each person must do his or her own diligent research and study (i.e.,
"Read the book." ... "Re-read the book." ... "Visit the sitemap on losthorizons.com and
read." ... "Read the FAQs." ... "Read the
"Misunderstandings" page." ... etc.), and must seek to own the material by virtue
of such practices. Continued offenses should result in overt denunciation and
then an ignoring of the
offender's posts.
I KNOW ALL OF THIS SEEMS HARSH. That is largely because of
the natural generosity and courteous of legitimate members which the
troll-work (whether agenda-driven, free-riding or incompetence) exploits
against the productive interests of those members.
But this community must focus on winning the war (which
will benefit even free-riders and incompetents as much as anyone). That
means leading as many horses as possible to the watering hole
as quickly as possible.*
Nothing must be allowed to distract from that effort.
Understand that anyone in legitimate need of help will get more benefit
from 1,000 other Americans being exposed to the truth about the tax than
from being nursed along individually at the expense of that broad
exposure. The trolls know this, and it is why they play the "questions"
game.
Are you unfamiliar with the enormous,
decade-and-a-half-plus effort to suppress CtC?
Read this,
every word and every linked document, and become familiar. Recognize that this has been done
because the bad guys know that the truth getting in front of enough
American eyes is all that it takes for their house of cards to collapse.
You've got to know that, too, and stop letting yourselves
get played by the distractions.
“Freedom had been hunted round the globe; reason was
considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had made men afraid to
think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks,
and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing.”

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

"In a time of
universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary

The US Senate, long the lap dog of the man who would be
king, President Donald Trump, appears to have finally remembered its proper
constitutional role.
Last week, the Senate voted 55/45 for a new
bipartisan War Powers Act to constrain military action against Iran. The
Congress voted a similar act. Both are designed to start returning the
right to make war to Congress, as the Constitution clearly intended. The
president is not the Warlord-in-chief in spite of what he thinks.
The Senate has been supine until now,
intimidated by an unholy alliance of pro-war Christian evangelists and
the Israel lobby, and over $100 million given to the Republican Party by
casino mogul Sheldon Adelson. Senators who dare oppose this powerful
special interest risk their political futures. The lifting of limits on
political contributions has given Adelson enormous power over Trump and
his friend, Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump has been very successful in intimidating
and punishing those who deviate from his party line. All he lacks so far
is a KGB-style secret police to enforce his demands. The current fracas
over Trump’s efforts to undermine the prosecution of his ally, political
low-life Roger Stone, is yet the latest example of the steady erosion of
our democratic system.
Yet even Trump went too far with the murder of
senior Iranian officer, Maj. Gen Qasem Soleimani, who had been invited
to visit Iraq for peace talks by its US-installed regime. Americans,
besotted by too many violent TV programs, saw this as a plus, but the
rest of the world was horrified by the gangster act. It appears Trump &
Co. were convinced to commit this murder by Israel, which had been
stalking Soleimani for years.
GOOD STUFF FROM MARGOLIS, lacking only one important ingredient: a
link to the actual remedy for the conundrum he recognizes and against which he
warns in his final paragraph. Here
is that link.
The happy fact is, Americans need never place their hopes
for a constrained and relatively harmless state on the thin reed of
elected official integrity. There ARE good elected officials, sometimes.
But rarely are there enough of them at any one time to rein in
Leviathan, as the historical record has made clear.
Thank goodness the Founders' were skeptical of angelic
tendencies in those who strive for political power and provided the
People with controls not dependent on anyone in that class. In fact, the
Founders provided the People with controls that
can't even be
thwarted by anyone or any cabal in the political class.
Those controls only work when enough Americans know about
them, though... So, spread the word.
EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fifteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...
(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is
No Such Agency!)
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above may not
be a current edition. CHECK. It matters. Also, there ARE no
e-book, Kindle or .pdf versions of
CtC.
Don't get taken in by efforts to sell you-- or even give you for
free-- any such thing.
February 25- In 1836, Samuel Colt
receives a patent for his six-gun. In 1862, the fiat currency known as
"greenbacks" are first issued by the United States. In 1870, Hiram Rhodes
Revels becomes the first black member of the United States Congress. In 1901,
J. P. Morgan incorporates U. S. Steel. In 1919, Oregon institutes the first
gasoline tax. In 1932, Adolph Hitler obtains German citizenship by
naturalization, allowing him to seek public office. In 1933, the first
custom-designed United States aircraft carrier (the USS Ranger) is launched.

February 26- In 1797, the Bank of England issues its first
irredeemable banknotes after war expenses had depleted England's gold reserves.
Redemption of its notes in real money resumed 24 years or so later. In 1863,
Lincoln signs the National Banking Act into law, establishing a series of
national banks in competition with private and state banks (1,644 of them by the
end of 1866). This was the first step in a process by which non-federal
currency was driven out of circulation, and which culminated eventually in the
establishment of the Federal Reserve system. In 1993, a truck-bomb explodes in
the underground garage of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to
discourage people from rebutting allegations that
they had done things I can tax, and wanted to keep them from
successfully reclaiming withheld or paid-in money, I
would salt the "tax honesty" community with
passionate-seeming "legal researchers" who would
warn anyone whose ear they captured that filing a

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
February 27- In 1801, the District of Columbia Organic Act of
1801 places the district under the exclusive jurisdiction of Congress (within
Constitutional constraints). In 1844, the Dominican Republic declares
independence from Haiti. In 1900, the British Labour Party is founded. In
1933, Nazi false-flag operators ignite fires in the German Reichstag
(Parliament), using the "crisis" as a pretext for expanding government power.
In 1945, Lebanon declares independence from France. In 1951, the 22nd Amendment
to the U.S. Constitution-- limiting the president to two terms, in disgusted
reaction to the socialist excesses fastened upon the people during FDR's
twelve-year reign-- is ratified. In 1973, the American Indian Movement occupies
Wounded Knee, South Dakota.
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...

the actual evidence, those

deny the accuracy and correctness of
CtC just because some government officials

Copernicus getting all those

church had said he was wrong.

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
March 1- In 1781, the Continental
Congress adopts the Articles of Confederation. This day in 1803 is designated
as that of Ohio's admission to the union as the 17th of the several states, but
the actual congressional action on the admission didn't take place until August
7, 1953. In 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte returns to France after escaping his
imprisonment on Elba. In 1867, Nebraska is admitted to the union as the 37th of
the several states (36th, really-- see the Ohio entry above). In 1872,
Yellowstone becomes the first United States park. In 1912, Albert Berry makes
the first parachute jump from an aircraft in flight. In 1932, the son of
aviator Charles Lindbergh is kidnapped. In 1941, the first FM radio station in
America begins broadcasting (WSM-FM in Nashville, Tennessee). In 1954, Puerto
Rican nationalists open fire on United States representatives from the visitor's
gallery during a session of Congress, wounding five. In 1966, the Soviet Venera
3 space craft becomes the first to land (by crashing) on the surface of another
planet. In 1971, the Weather Underground sets off a bomb in a men's room in the
U.S. Capitol building. In 1974, seven suspects are charged with conspiracy to
obstruct justice in connection with the Watergate break-in. In 2014, eight
assailants armed with knives massacred 29 people and left another 140 wounded in
an attack in the Chinese city of Kumming. Predictable calls for strengthened
"knife control" laws echoed throughout statist lairs across America.

that ye were our countrymen."

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on
matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works
are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of Mensa;
an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and
has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of
Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a
consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens
for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and
as a member of the International Society for Individual
Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across
the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
