...where real knowledge-- and actual solutions-- intersect with real Americans!

Are You Counting On The 2022 Elections To Set Things Right? Don't Be Naive.
Those trying to conquer and subdue you are doing everything in their power to make themselves incapable of being dislodged, no matter how large a majority wants to dislodge them.

I HAVE BEEN TROUBLED TO SEE increasingly common expressions by opponents of those currently huddled behind the barbed wire and troops in Washington and many statehouses suggesting a belief that 2022 will see everything mended. This is the notion that the folks who:

*destabilized the whole country with hyperbolic panic-mongering over a virus which is no meaningful threat at all to healthy people below the age of 75;

*unhesitatingly issued-- and have since maintained-- a broad swath of completely illegal edicts resulting in the collapse of much of the American economy;

*encouraged and facilitated widespread, unhindered and unpunished rioting, looting, property destruction, assault and murder by their supporters and allies-- all precisely meeting the statutory definition of domestic terrorism-- throughout last summer (and again, more sporadically, on numerous occasions since);

*lied about Russian "bounty" payments to the Taliban in order to hurt Biden's opponent and to thwart efforts to pull American soldiers out of the 20-year boondoggle in Afghanistan;

*concealed the Hunter Biden laptop revelations of systemic corruption by Biden and members of his family prior to the election;

*leveraged the "COVID-19 pandemic" into a pretext for massive unverified "mail-in balloting"-- after having carefully prepared the ground the year before with a series of enabling lawsuits;

*"found" huge batches of Biden votes at 4:30 AM the morning after the November election in critical swing states;

*have exploited their command of the journalistic mainstream to bury any airing of election fraud evidence;

*systematically deplatform any voices challenging any part of their self-serving narratives-- even political figures representing large numbers of Americans;

*suppress thoroughly-credentialed doctors and other specialists trying to share information on widely-successful treatments and preventative measures against a disease the suppressors pretend to be the Black Plague reborn;

*and who have spent the last four months rushing to seize control of the voting laws in every state, culling non-supporters of their agendas from the military, enacting infringements on their civilian political opponents' Second Amendment-secured ability to resist other unconstitutional assaults on liberty and the rule of law, encouraging an invasion of the country by aliens whom they intend to enfranchise on their behalf, perpetuating a menacing social unrest throughout the country, and are undertaking to pack the Supreme Court (or use the threat of doing so to bend the current majority on the court into acquiescence to the "new normal" agenda)...

...are going to let election day 2022 arrive without having used all the control they currently enjoy to set themselves up another apparent victory at the polls. Even after having already demonstrated their willingness to do so, and their ability to do so even without having control of the Senate and the Presidency. Sure they are.

Are You Ready To Die For The Neo-Nazis In Kiev?
Don't you think you should be asked before your money is used to bring that about?

NOTHING LEFT OF MANY OF US but our shadows burned into the rubble... Personally, I think the virtues of aggression by the coup-installed regime in power in Ukraine against the overwhelming-majority ethnic Russian population of Crimea-- which voted to rejoin Russia in 2014-- is not worth that candle. What about you?

For no reason other than to mindlessly persist in a long-since plainly futile pipe-dream of world hegemony, neo-con nutcases infesting Washington (with the support of blindly-money-hungry arms makers) have been pushing for years toward war with Russia. Since 2014, the lunatic ambitions and delusions of the neo-Nazis put into power in Ukraine by the Obama administration in February of that year have been the point of the spear in this belligerence.

Recently, the Biden administration has taken the extremely dangerous step of encouraging the Kiev regime to go to war with Russia over Crimea, even going so far as to issue a guarantee of United States support. Unless the nut-cases back down, or are denied the ability to persist, this will not end well.

The Russian claim to Crimea is as sound as such a thing can be, both from historical fact and the plainly-declared preferences of Crimea's inhabitants. Further, Russia's interest there is viewed quite reasonably as one of existential national security. Russia will not back down in this matter.

GIVEN THESE FACTS, any move by Kiev to act as encouraged by the Biden people will result in war, and by virtue of the guarantee so promiscuously given, this means war between Russia and the United States. Kiev and the US cannot win by conventional means-- Russia will conquer Ukraine in a week's time, if that, and if faced with stiff resistance by virtue of US-supplied weapons, may well just reduce western Ukraine to a smoking ruin in the process.

What then will the US do? More importantly, what then will Russia imagine the US will do, and how will it feel compelled to act pre-emptively? Without presuming to answer those questions, it is easy to predict that two extremely-heavily-nuclear-armed states will go on high, hair-trigger alert, and with the US already having military forces within just a stones-throw of major Russian cities, that hair-trigger will really have zero reflection time available on the Russian side, at least.

And really, the same is true for the US side, despite the geographical difference, since Russia's latest hypersonic missiles can deliver total destruction to the continental USA in an astonishingly short time even if launched from the Russian interior, much less from submarines.

Other Voices (followed by an important afterword)
We Must Never Forget The Old Normal
Supporters of lockdown want us to forget that we once lived freely.
by David McGrogan

We have now spent over a year in lockdown limbo. Vaccines were supposed to release us by ‘early spring’. Matt Hancock promised that after the vulnerable had been vaccinated, the government would ‘cry freedom’. Well, it’s early spring, and the vulnerable have more or less all been vaccinated. But Chris Whitty has been back on the airwaves to tell us that there will ‘definitely’ be a third wave of infections. Meanwhile, the head of Public Health England thinks nothing of saying that we will be wearing masks and obeying social distancing rules for ‘years’ – and might as well since, according to her, we have all grown used to it anyway.

Normal life – the pub, the real pub, where you did not have to wear a mask or produce a certificate to get in; meeting friends for a casual coffee; going to work; going to an art gallery or a football match – already seems like a dimly remembered dream. What will be left of those memories if all this really does go on indefinitely? Particularly if there is an ‘escape variant’ that evades vaccination – or if another pandemic comes along?

The Czech author Milan Kundera begins one of his novels with the observation that ‘The struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting’. He wrote this specifically about a tactic of leaders behind the Iron Curtain: ‘airbrushing’ inconvenient people from photographs so as to cleanse them from public record. More generally, he was making the point that ideologies – all ideologies – rely on the obliteration of history. An ideology simplifies all of the complexity of the world to a few trite principles. Because history is messy and complicated and almost never conforms to this kind of exercise in reduction, the solution is to forget history altogether. This is why so many ideologies have a ‘Year Zero’ component in their makeup. They are about ripping things up and starting afresh on a blank slate.

Illuminating Anniversaries For This Week!
(With a very significant anniversary leading off the week...)

"I confidently trust that the American people will prove themselves...too wise not to detect the false pride or the dangerous ambitions or the selfish schemes which so often hide themselves under that deceptive cry of mock patriotism: 'Our country, right or wrong!' They will not fail to recognize that our dignity, our free institutions and the peace and welfare of this and coming generations of Americans will be secure only as we cling to the watchword of true patriotism: 'Our country--when right to be kept right; when wrong to be put right.'"
-Senator Carl Schurz, October 17, 1899
