'Cracking the Code-...' warrior Charles Eggert writes: Pete, thanks for the continuing the email updates. Now to update you, almost a year ago I was sent IRS letters saying I owed almost $200k for both 2001 & 2002. Last August I received your book and read it on vacation. I filed for both years after learning what the law actually said (thank you again for your time making ctc !!!). After a few nasty letters, I was sent new letters indicating that I owed only $502 for each year - with no explanation of what or why. I [have since] insisted the IRS follow their own rules etc. with the cites to remind them. As yet, I have had no response. It amazes me how they go from almost $200k down to $1000. [It is worth noting that the penalty for filing late is $500 per year, and the first month's interest on that amount would be $2. -PH]
