"There are two distinct classes of men...those who pay taxes and those who receive and live upon taxes."

- Thomas Paine

C'mon! CtC can't be right! You're crazy!

If CtC were actually right,

it would mean the government's been concealing and denying the truth for years on end,

and everybody knows THAT would never happen...

(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is No Such Agency!)

Do you know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?

I mean someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated, far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?

Do you know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fifteenth) edition of CtC!

Illuminating anniversaries of this week:

March 13- In 1881, Tsar Alexander II of Russia is assassinated with a thrown bomb.  In 1900, France imposes a limit of 11 hours of work per day on women and children.  In 1933, FDR's "bank holiday" ends.  In 1954, the Viet Minh attack the French at Dien Bien Phu,  In 1962, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lyman Lemnitzer delivers the plans for 'Operation Northwoods' to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara.  The plan calls for a series of staged terrorist attacks in American cities false-flagged as Cuban, in order to drum up American public acquiescence to a United States attack on the Castro regime.  In 1986, Microsoft offers its stock for public purchase.  In 2008, gold sells on the New York Mercantile Exchange for $1,000.00 per ounce for the first time.  In 2013, Pope Francis is elected to succeed the abdicating Benedict XVI by a papal conclave whose proceedings were spied on by the United States National Security Agency.

A Nice Victory Over An IRS "Proposed Amount Due"

Rockin' the law and sending the Robot reeling.

EVERY NOW AND THEN an increasingly desperate IRS attempts to cow or confuse a CtC-educated filer into a self-reversal and an eyes-down scuttle back into the barn with the other livestock. Sometimes, these efforts take the form of a CP2000 "Proposed amount due" notice.

On these notices the tax agency invites the filer to agree that, contrary to what is said on his return, all his earnings were actually from taxable activities. It is hoped that the filer will be intimidated by the notice into imagining that what he believes about the limits of the tax must be wrong, 'cause the IRS is disagreeing with him!

Of course, the IRS is NOT actually disagreeing. Rather, it is just venturing a "proposal" (and even if it DID disagree, that wouldn't make the IRS right and the filer wrong, of course...).

During the more than 13 years since the publication of CtC and the beginning of the hundreds of thousands of properly-educated filings made since, these back-in-the-barn efforts have happened several dozen times, at least. In late December last year, John C. was subjected to one of these ploys over his federal filing for 2015:

John's filing can be seen here (It will be noted that for reasons of his own, John chose to leave the amounts withheld from him for FICA taxes unclaimed, and since nothing else had been withheld from his earnings John's return simply asserts that no "income" was received and no tax is owed.)

NOT BEING A "BACK INTO THE BARN" kind of American since learning the truth about the tax, John declined the IRS invitation. Instead, John promptly responded with a "No, thanks" letter.

John's letter makes a few unnecessary and inapt assertions about provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code (the irrelevance of which is most easily shown by the several dozen previous "proposed amount due"-disposals by others over the years among the collections here and here). He also mistakenly suggests that there is not an "affidavit of income" available concerning the allegations on which the IRS based its "proposal" when the W-2 which alleges that all John's pay was for the conduct of taxable activities, and which John rebuts with his Form 4852, is actually supported by oath on the W-3 form by which it is transmitted to the government, however much such allegations may be made in utter ignorance of their content and import.

Nonetheless, John did make the only point actually necessary and relevant for a response to the  IRS proposal: "Not having any!" Seven weeks later, the IRS politely threw in the towel on its attempt to suggest that John's un-privileged earnings qualified for the tax:

GOTTA LOVE John C., a fine, heroic American!

John has stepped up and acted to restrain the dangerous and corrupt state and uphold the rule of law, something desperately needed from everyone. His victory joins those of the tens of thousands of other awakened and activated Americans represented here, and is one more critical step toward the restoration of the Founders' republic and the true rule of law.

I hope honest, courageous and intelligent members of the "alt media" are paying attention (or have this brought to their attention by activists in the CtC community). Were the truth about the "income" tax which John's victory unambiguously proves be made the subject of wake-up calls by those journalists, this country would be transformed in a matter of months from an increasingly bankrupt and looted wreck of a police state back into the shining city on a hill left for us by the Founders. What stoppers up the mouths of these folks is an abiding mystery to me, and an abiding tragedy for America.

Btw, don't you wish your victories were proudly posted, too?

It's easy. Stand up on behalf of the law, and then share the evidence.

That's all there is to it!

NOTE: Ten years or so since the last time the price of my books went up (from $19.95 to $24.95) I find it necessary to bump up a bit once again. Beginning on April 15-- why not, eh? ;>)-- book prices will increase to $29.95, and the CtC Companion CD and warrior-wear items will go up to $24.95. Orders postmarked before that date will be honored at the current prices.

Can't wait 'til we hit full-spectrum victory (or resume the gold standard) and this sort of thing needn't be bothered with any longer...

So, Did You Fear A Possible President Clinton? Do You Fear A President Trump?

You ought to dread either one...

IF THERE HAS BEEN ONE POSITIVE CONSEQUENCE of this latest election cycle, it is that a whole lot of Americans have been awakened to the fact that power in the hands of public officials is dangerous! Whatever one's choice of the lesser evil might be, Clinton or Trump, the other evil on offer has starkly painted into his mind the perils of modern state power falling into undeserving hands.

Generally, in past elections, opposition to the "other guy"-- the pick preferred by other folks but not you-- has hinged on policy issues. Though sometimes heatedly defended or assailed, and though often concerning important matters, the issues have generally been taken at one or another level of "academic" consideration.

This year "position" and "opposition" have been on a self-preservation level. Whether you were for Clinton or Trump, you viewed the choice as one on which your very survival might depend.

Everyone experienced a very cold feeling in the pit of the stomach from the thought that it might go the wrong way. That feeling of imminent dire peril is the gift of the remarkable 2016 presidential race.

Last year, for the first time, a lot of Americans really, truly learned that to facilitate the near-Satanic power of the unrestrained state is to hang a Sword of Damocles over their own heads, and those of their children.

As P.J. O'Rourke wittily and accurately said, "Giving money and power to politicians is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys." I'll add what is clearly implied but what I suspect many folks hadn't really realized until last year-- you and your kids are strapped into the back seat of that car.

SO, LOTS OF FOLKS HAVE RECENTLY GOTTEN THE MESSAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME that power in political hands is bad, stupid, dangerous. What we in the CtC community must do is help these folks-- our friends, family and acquaintances-- recognize the necessary solution to this now-understood grave threat: STOP GIVING THEM THE GAS!!!

We in the CtC community must seize the moment. We must make a big push right now to show those about whom we care that it is their right and their duty to learn and declare the truth on every tax-related instrument they sign.

At the same time, we must show those we love that learning and declaring the truth on every tax-related instrument-- and thereby cutting off the excessive fuel-supply to the state-- is their only real hope for safety. Otherwise there will always be a Leviathan plenty big enough to destroy them at best waiting in the wings for one dicey election to go the wrong way and bring the nightmare to life.

A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO a statist thug made the observation that a crisis should never be allowed to go to waste. In his case he meant that a crisis should be used to grow the state and fasten it ever-more firmly on the American people.

But that sword cuts both ways. This time, how about the good guys capitalize on the crisis and use it to shrink the state?

Let's not forget, the "Cracking the Code" community has always also been the "Restore the Republic" community. So, CtC2RtR (#CtC2RtR)! That has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

NOTE: Click on Saruman's evil mug in the image above to see how the spread of CtC's revelations will act to RtR.

What REALLY Should Be Done About Muslim Terrorism

We've already been told-- long since...

Dear President Trump:

If you wish to do the very best that can be done to ensure the safety of Americans from the possibility of terrorism by refugees from Muslim states, here is what you do: END U.S. VIOLENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

Announce to the world that while United States foreign policy has been in thrall to neo-con nutcases for the last few decades, and to their "intellectual" ancestors for the several decades before that, a new day has now dawned in America. Tell the world that henceforth, the United States will embrace and re-dedicate itself to the principles and wisdom laid out for us by George Washington:

"...nothing is more essential, than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular Nations, and passionate attachments for others, should be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated. The Nation, which indulges towards another an habitual hatred, or an habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest. Antipathy in one nation against another disposes each more readily to offer insult and injury, to lay hold of slight causes of umbrage, and to be haughty and intractable, when accidental or trifling occasions of dispute occur. Hence frequent collisions, obstinate, envenomed, and bloody contests. The Nation, prompted by ill-will and resentment, sometimes impels to war the Government, contrary to the best calculations of policy. The Government sometimes participates in the national propensity, and adopts through passion what reason would reject; at other times, it makes the animosity of the nation subservient to projects of hostility instigated by pride, ambition, and other sinister and pernicious motives. The peace often, sometimes perhaps the liberty, of Nations has been the victim.

"So likewise, a passionate attachment of one Nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite Nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest, in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter, without adequate inducement or justification. It leads also to concessions to the favorite Nation of privileges denied to others, which is apt doubly to injure the Nation making the concessions; by unnecessarily parting with what ought to have been retained; and by exciting jealousy, ill-will, and a disposition to retaliate, in the parties from whom equal privileges are withheld. And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens, (who devote themselves to the favorite nation,) facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation."

Thomas Jefferson:

"About to enter, fellow-citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our Government, and consequently those which ought to shape its Administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations. Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none;"

James Madison:

"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of manners and of morals engendered by both. No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare."

John Quincy Adams:

"America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own."

and Dwight Eisenhower:

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes."

Tell the world, "We wish you all well, but it's time for you all to "suit-up" and step up, because our century of madness is over. Don't mess with us, and we won't mess with you; see you in the marketplace."

The Biggest Snow-Job In World History: The Myth That 1913 America Adopted A Marxist Progressive Tax On "All That Comes In"

Thank goodness the sun is now shining...

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to discourage people from rebutting allegations that they had done things I can tax, and keep them from successfully reclaiming withheld or paid-in money, I would salt the "tax honesty" community with passionate-seeming "legal researchers" who would warn anyone whose ear they captured that filing a 1040 is a bad idea for one reason or another.

Regarding Trolleries

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from learning the truth about the "income tax")

The plane that gets the most flak is the one that's right above the target.

FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This effort involves official government websites and press releases touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds with some CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the real substance of the ruling)-- and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.

Are the presentations and resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?

Tim Kendrick has posted a video on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to feel obligated in any way.

But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only the cost of a cheap paperback.

Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support. No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to act let it be solely because it seems right.

Why Does The Government Lie About 'Cracking the Code'?

THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION is the key to the restoration of the republic and the rule of law in America. See it below. (NOTE: It's very important that the entire 24 minutes be viewed.)

This video can also be found on YouTube at https://youtu.be/hgzzYl-eeUI.

Here are links to the two pages to which viewers are directed at the end of the film: The Crime of the Century and The Truth About The 16th Amendment.

The other two mentioned in the film are this one (the "bulletin board" stack of 1,200 or so posted refunds and other victories in knowledgably applying the law; and this one (the collection of resisted claims and the outcomes of those little battles).

PLEASE be a real activist about sending this link to every single person in your address book, and about sharing it through facebook, reddit, twitter, and any other distribution channel with which you are familiar. Send it to every journalist you can. It's time to really make something happen.

Accompany your emails and posts with with a strong admonishment to watch the film through, and that doing so will show the viewer an individual-empowering, state-restraining truth about the income tax which the government has been trying to keep hidden from view for 75 years and which that person really needs to know.

BY THE WAY, as is impossible to miss, I have neither the skills nor the tools to make even moderately good films. This is simply not my forte. Anyone able to do better is encouraged to talk to me about that.

As is ALSO impossible to miss, though-- even in my amateur production-- reader video testimonials have GREAT POWER. Send me yours.

Two Simple Questions For Every Silent "Alt-Media" Journalist

The silence of these folks is the liberation bottleneck. Maybe this'll help, if enough people ask...

HERE'S A SIMPLE QUESTION: The income tax is, and always has been, an excise tax on privilege. This is established beyond any controversy whatever by repeated Supreme Court rulings, the words of the related laws, and, since 2003, by hundreds of thousands of acknowledgements by federal and state tax agencies.

You, like most folks, have been fooled into inadvertently agreeing that your economic activities are exercises of privilege, thereby allowing the tax to be applied to your earnings. Why is this so hard for you to admit?

HERE'S ANOTHER SIMPLE QUESTION: You and everyone else being fooled into agreeing that your economic activities are privileged and thereby allowing them to be taxed is what enables the flow of wealth that finances all the bad things done by the state of which you complain in every column. Why is this so hard for you to admit?

I GUESS THESE ACTUALLY LEAD TO A THIRD SIMPLE QUESTION: If you really feel that all these things of which you complain are so bad, why are you not helping more Americans understand the true nature of the tax and the ill effects of it being misunderstood and misapplied?

*****

PRO TIP: By the physics of the law, an indirect tax is necessarily a privilege tax. Here's why:

The distinction between a direct tax and an indirect tax is incidence. A direct tax arises by the direct imposition of the taxer, without any election of the taxed (other than that of authorizing the taxing power in the first place).

An indirect tax arises by the taxed choosing t to to to to do something by which the taxer's claim is then created. The choice that is a valid object of an indirect tax can't be anything done as an exercise of an untaxable right. Nor can it be any activity of necessity. A tax on anything done by necessity would arise not by actual election of the taxed but simply because the tax had been imposed by the taxer. Such a tax, whatever it may be called, would be in actual substance a direct tax, even if one that arose only intermittently. Think of a tax on eating, for example, or working, or engaging in trade with others (all of which are things done by right as well as by necessity, but you get the point).

What is left as the valid object of an indirect tax is the exercise of privilege-- something done not by right, and therefore done by the permission of the taxer (who, due to being possessed of an ownership right in the thing being permitted, is entitled to claim of portion of the proceeds when the thing is profitably used).

"[Although the Legislature may declare as privileges and tax as such for State revenue purposes those pursuits and occupations that are not matters of common right], the Legislature has no power to declare as a privilege and tax for revenue purposes occupations that are of common right."

Sims v. Ahrens, 167 Ark. 557, 271 SW 720 594, 595 (Ark. 1925)

The 'Watching the Watchmen Amendment'

If you're not talking this one up everywhere and helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the rule of law...

PRO TIP: The argument that a concept explicitly given a statutory definition for purposes of this or that chapter or "title" has the same meaning as the common word the legislature has borrowed for its label-- which meaning plainly didn't suit the legislature's purposes, hence its replacement-- is a preposterous reading of the law.

“It is axiomatic that the statutory definition of the term excludes unstated meanings of that term.”

Meese v. Keene, 481 U.S. 465 (1987);

“[W]e are not at liberty to put our gloss on the definition that Congress provided by looking to the generally accepted meaning of the defined term.”

Tenn. Prot. & Advocacy Inc. v. Wells, 371 F.3d 342 (6th Cir. 2004).

In light of the actual evidence, , , those who doubt or deny the accuracy and correctness of CtC just because government officials make weaselly representations against it are like the 16th-century Europeans who were mystified by Copernicus getting all those astronomical predictions right even though the church had said he was wrong.

Media Evasion Of CtC Must End, Now

Time, unfortunately, is on the side of the well-funded disinformation specialists class

Illuminating anniversaries of this week:

March 17- In 1780, George Washington gives the Continental Army a holiday in a show of solidarity with the Irish and their struggle for independence.  In 1845, the rubber band is patented.  In 1910, Camp Fire Girls is founded.  In 1960, Dwight D. Eisenhower signs a covert-ops directive that ultimately results in the Bay of Pigs fiasco.  In 1970, the US Army charges 14 officers with concealing information about the My Lai massacre.  In 2008, New York Governor Elliot Spitzer resigns after being caught using expensive prostitutes.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance:

Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Or how about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying the same?

Now you just have to explain that you're going to show exactly those things-- but because the state really doesn't want people to know this, these things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press release. But it'll be worth the effort...

Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

A Budget Without Russians: The Empire's Nightmare

by Fred Reed

Methinks the insane hysteria over Russia needs to stop. It probably will not. For reasons of domestic and imperial politics the American public is again being manipulated into a war frenzy by Washington and New York. It is stupid, without justification, and dangerous.

The silliness over Russia is, obviously, part of the Establishment’s drive to get rid of Trump. Yes, the man is erratic, contradictory, shoots before he aims, backs off much of what he has promised, and may be unqualified as President–but that is not why Washington and New York want to get rid of him. It is about money and power, as is everything in the United States. Wall Street, the Pentagon, the Neocons, and the Empire run America. Trump has threatened their rice bowls.

Consider:

He has threatened to cut the F-35, a huge blow to Lockheed-Martin and hundreds of subcontractors; to pull US troops out of South Korea, a blow to the Empire; to end the wars, a blow both to the Empire and the military industry getting rich from them; to pull troops out of Okinawa, crippling the Empire in the Pacific; to start a trade war with China with a forty-five percent tariff of Chinese goods, threatening American corporations with factories there; and to chase out illegal immigrants, an important source of cheap labor to businesses.  He has called NATO “obsolete,” when leaving it would be the death knell of the Empire; and threatened to establish good relations with Russia, when the lack of a European enemy would leave NATO even more obviously unnecessary.

Thus New York and its branch operation in Washington resuscitate Russia as a bugbear to terrify the rubes, meaning most of the public. Money. Power. Empire.

What sense does this make–apart from money and power? Russia is an economically challenged nation of 145 million, less than half of Europe’s population and much less than half of America’s. Its economy is a small fraction of the combined economies of Europe and America. It is not on a war footing. It is not moving forces into position for an invasion. It is not mobilizing. To satellite photography, to NSA these things would be as obvious as leprosy on a prom queen. The Establishment would be screaming to high heaven if there were the slightest trace of preparation for war. The whole business is manufactured.

Now ask yourself this: Have I really done all that I can to urge everyone I know to also stand up and act in the only way that will really bring about change in my lifetime?

Even as ardent a statist as Abraham Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite means..."

About The Author

Pete Hendrickson is possibly the most effective lawyer in history, even while never having set foot in a law school, nor ever being a card-carrying member of "the bar". He is the first American in history to secure a complete refund of Social Security and Medicare ‘contributions’ withheld from his earnings (along with all other property taken for federal taxes); further, since 2003 students of his legal analyses and arguments in ‘Cracking the Code- The Fascinating Truth About Taxation In America’’ (CtC), and its sequel, 'Was Grandpa Really a Moron?' have been routinely retaining and recovering billions of dollars which otherwise-- wrongly, but as a matter of course-- would have gone to federal or state government treasuries. This despite concerted efforts by government to suppress his work, and in some cases vigorously oppose the claims by his students.

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding the Law And Other Observations’.  He is a member of Mensa; an award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth soccer coach.  He is a long-time political activist as well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International Society for Individual Liberty.  He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across the country.

Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design, manufacture and installation firm.

Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.  He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and distribution systems in four states, and designed and administered the company's website.

On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative force behind a small board- and card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several years.

Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife and two children.  He is currently working on his next book.
