Do you know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?

I mean someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated, far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?

Do you know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (fifteenth) edition of CtC!

The "Bad Guys" Are Not Always BAD guys

There's a lot more ignorance than evil in the ranks of officialdom.

UPTON SINCLAIR FAMOUSLY SAID, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it." Truer words have never been spoken.

But though Sinclair's observation is accurate and deeply insightful, it is, I think, often misapplied in many cases today.

Sinclair's words are often used in reference to government officials who behave out of harmony with the plain words of the law. They are meant to suggest that those officials simply don't want to understand the law, and are really just pretending they do not.

That cynical notion of "willful misunderstanding" may well have been appropriate for Sinclair's time and his own experiences exposing corruption in public offices, private businesses and journalism. But it doesn't quite hit the mark today.

TODAY WE STAND MORE THAN A CENTURY since Upton Sinclair first articulated his observations. During all that time, a program of deliberate Kool-Aid-generation has been busily at work filling the heads of Americans with mush.

The Kool-Aid is designed to make Constitutional restraints on the state difficult to discern. Statutory provisions enacted in harmony with those Constitutional restraints (which generally means, enacted long ago) are also distorted by the assault. But for the most part, these effects are nourished and exploited today by folks who have no real idea that they are acting under the influence

Initially a broad falsehood concerning the legal nature of the federal government under the Constitution had to be spun and spread. This falsehood treated the federal government as a general government, and the Constitutional grants of authority over the "United States" as being authority over the United States of America, even though any careful reading of the Constitution clearly distinguishes between the two, and judicial construction of the fundamental law over our first 140 years or so did the same.

Consider this language from the Supreme Court as an example of the latter (and note that while the ruling expressly addresses the regulation of coal-mining, it spends most of its time articulating foundational principles which are universal in application):

U.S. Supreme Court Carter v. Carter Coal Co., 298 U.S. 238 (1936)

CERTIORARI TO THE CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE SIXTH CIRCUIT

Syllabus

1. A stockholder may maintain a bill to enjoin the corporation and its directors from submitting to legislative exactions and regulations which are unconstitutional and would seriously injure the business of the corporation. P. 298 U. S. 286.

2. Where irreparable injury from unconstitutional legislation is certain and imminent, suit for an injunction need not be deferred until injury has been actually inflicted. P. 298 U. S. 287.

3. The "Bituminous Coal Conservation Act of 1935" declares, with specifications, that the mining and distribution of such coal are so affected with a national public interest and so related to the general welfare that the industry should be regulated. It recites further, with details, that such regulation is necessary because interstate commerce is directly and detrimentally affected by the state of the industry and its practices, and that the right of the miners to organize and collectively bargain for wages, hours of labor and working conditions should be guaranteed in order to prevent constant wage-cutting and disparate labor costs, detrimental to fair interstate commerce, and in order to prevent the obstructions to that commerce that arise from disputes over labor relations at the mines. The Act thereupon provides an elaborate scheme for the creation of a national commission, the organization of numerous coal districts, the setting up of numerous boards in the districts, and the fixing of all prices for bituminous coal, and of the wages, hours and working conditions of the miners, throughout the country.

Held:

(1) That a so-called excise tax, imposed by the Act, of 15% of the sale price or market value at the mine of all bituminous coal produced in the country, subject to a draw-back of 13 1/2% allowed to those producers who submit to the price-fixing and labor, provisions of the Act, is not a tax, but a penalty to coerce submission, and cannot be upheld as an expression of the taxing power.

(2) The provisions of the Act looking to the control of the wages, hours, and working conditions of the miners engaged in the production of coal, and seeking to guarantee their right of collective bargaining in these matters, are beyond the powers of Congress, because --

(a) The Constitution grants to Congress no general power to regulate for the promotion of the general welfare.

(b) The power expressly granted Congress to regulate interstate commerce does not include the power to control the conditions in which coal is produced before it becomes an article of commerce.

(c) The effect on interstate commerce in the coal of labor conditions involved in its production, including disputes and strikes over wages, etc., is an indirect effect.

(3) Since a mine owner, by refusing to accept the regulatory provisions, would incur a prohibitive tax and be deprived, by other provisions of the Act, of the right to sell coal to the United States or to any of its contractors for use in performing their contracts, the regulations are, in fact, compulsory. In view of this compulsion, provisions of the Act seeking to authorize part of the producers and miners to fix hours for the entire industry, and part of the producers and miners in the districts to fix minimum wages in their districts, are legislative delegation in its most obnoxious form, and clearly violate the Fifth Amendment.

(4) The price-fixing provisions are not separable from the provisions concerning labor, and therefore cannot stand independently. They are so related to and dependent upon the labor provisions, as conditions, considerations or compensations, as to make it clearly probable that, the latter being held bad, the former would not have been passed.

(5) The constitutionality of the price-fixing provisions is not considered.

4. Whether the end sought to be attained by an Act of Congress is legitimate is wholly a matter of constitutional power, and not at all of legislative discretion. Beneficent aims, however great or well directed, can never serve in lieu of power.

5. To a constitutional end, many ways are open; but to an end not within the terms of the Constitution, all ways are closed.

6. The proposition, often advanced and as often discredited, that the power of the federal government inherently extends to all purposes affecting the Nation as a whole with which the States severally cannot deal, or deal adequately, and the related notion that Congress, entirely apart from those powers delegated by the Constitution, may enact laws to promote the general welfare, have always been definitely rejected by this Court.

7. Those who framed and those who adopted the Constitution meant to carve from the general mass of legislative powers then possessed by the States only such portions as it was thought wise to confer upon the federal government, and, in order that there should be no uncertainty as to what was taken and what was left, the national powers of legislation were not aggregated, but enumerated -- with the result that what was not embraced by the enumeration remained vested in the States without change or impairment.

8. The States, in respect of all powers reserved to them, are supreme. And since every addition to the national legislative power to some extent detracts from or invades the power of the States, it is of vital moment that, in order to preserve the fixed balance intended by the Constitution, the powers of the general government be not so extended as to embrace any not within the express terms of the several grants or the implications necessarily to be drawn therefrom.

9. The general government possesses no inherent power over the internal affairs of the States, and emphatically not with regard to legislation.

10. The determination of the Framers Convention and the ratifying conventions to preserve complete and unimpaired state self-government in all matters not committed to the national government is one of the plainest facts in the history of their deliberations. Adherence to that determination is incumbent equally upon the federal government and the States. State powers can neither be appropriated, on the one hand, nor abdicated, on the other.

11. If the federal government once begins taking over the powers of the States, the States may be so despoiled of their powers, or -- what may amount to the same thing -- be so relieved of the responsibilities which the possession of the powers necessarily enjoins, as to reduce them to little more than geographical divisions of the national domain.

12. The Constitution is a law -- the supreme law of the land. Judicial tribunals are required to apply the law to the facts in every case properly brought before them, and, in so doing, they are bound to give effect to this supreme law as against any mere statute conflicting with it.

13. In the discharge of that duty, the opinion of the lawmakers that a statute passed by them is valid must be given great weight; but their opinion, or the court's opinion, that the statute will prove greatly or generally beneficial is wholly irrelevant to the inquiry.

14. As used in the commerce clause of the Constitution, the term "commerce" is the equivalent of intercourse for the purposes of trade, and includes transportation, purchase, sale and exchange of commodities between citizens of the different States. The power to regulate commerce embraces the instruments by which commerce is carried on.

15. Production and manufacture of commodities are not commerce, even when done with intent to sell or transport the commodities out of the State.

16. The possibility or even certainty of the exportation of a product or an article from a State does not put it in interstate commerce before it has begun to move from the State. To hold otherwise would be to nationalize all industries.

17. One who produces or manufactures a commodity, subsequently sold and shipped by him in interstate commerce, whether such sale and shipment were originally intended or not, has engaged in two distinct and separate activities. So far as he produces or manufactures it, his business is purely local. So far as he sells or ships it, or contracts to do so, to customers in another State, he engages in interstate commerce. In respect of the former, he is subject to regulation by the State; in respect of the latter, to regulation only by the federal government. Production is not commerce, but a step in preparation for commerce.

18. The incidents leading up to and culminating in the mining of coal -- the employment of men, the fixing of their wages, hours of labor and working conditions, the bargaining in respect of these things -- each and all constitute intercourse for the purposes of production, not of trade. Commerce in the coal is not brought into being by force of these purely local activities, but by negotiations, agreements and circumstances entirely apart from production. Mining brings the subject matter of commerce into existence; commerce disposes of it.

19. To say that an activity or condition has a "direct" effect upon commerce implies that it operates proximately -- not mediately, remotely, or collaterally -- to produce the effect, without the presence of any efficient intervening agency or condition.

20. The distinction between a direct and an indirect effect upon interstate commerce is independent of the magnitude of the effect or of its cause.

21. The evils which come to interstate commerce from struggles between employer and employees over the matter of wages, working conditions, the right of collective bargaining, etc., and the resulting strikes, curtailment and irregularity of production and effect on prices, however extensive such evils may be, affect interstate commerce in a secondary and indirect way; they are local evils over which the federal government has no legislative control.

22. The want of power in the federal government is the same whether the wages, hours of service, and working conditions and the bargaining about them, are related to production before interstate commerce has begun, or to sale and distribution after it has ended. Schechter Poultry Corp. v. United States, 295 U. S. 495.

23. A declaration in a statute that invalidity of any of its provisions shall not affect the others reverses the presumption of inseparability, but it does not alter the rule that, if one of two mutually dependent parts be unconstitutional, the other cannot be upheld.

Reading that makes you feel like you've woken up in a different country, doesn't it?

That's the "originalist" take on the Constitution, and how it was understood and enforced (with only occasional stumbles) from 1789-- really, from the adoption of the Articles of Confederation in 1781-- until the late 1930s. But after decades of Kool-Aid expressly and insidiously concocted to erode this original (and frankly, obvious) understanding of the Constitution, and treat the "United States" referenced in federal statutes as being the all-inclusive, all-powerful thing the Supreme Court says above that it is not, we are now a long way down the path into foreign parts.

BECAUSE OF THAT 80-YEAR JOURNEY, every one of "the bad guys" any of us deal with or observe in areas of policy or law have grown up in those "foreign parts". Every one of them has spent his or her requisite twelve years or more in government schools, being fed the Kool-Aid.

Every one of "the bad guys" has been taught-- even in law schools-- that the words of the Constitution itself don't matter. What matters, they have been taught, is the "evolved", constantly-moving understanding of those words by politically-appointed judges. In keeping with that notion, it is only those Kool-Aid-inebriated "understandings" that are studied and taken as indicative of the law of the land, even in law schools.

In short, "the bad guys" are not BAD guys, acting with evil intent. They are just ignorant Kool-Aid victims, just as you were before you had something prompt your awakening.

The "bad guys", for the most part, just need awakening, too.

To give Sinclair his due, regardless of what degree of cynicism might have informed his adage, resistance to awakening will be there, and it can be measured precisely by the degree to which the self-interest of the "bad guy" can be seen as furthered by the Kool-Aid reality. The natural process of rationalization subconsciously marshals arguments in defense of one's own interests.

But these rationalizations are neither deliberate nor evil. Instead, they are both reflexive and entirely vulnerable to moral rebuttal. They partake of the character of the "fight or flight" reflex, which is inherent in us all, and which always takes immediate control in the face of an apparent threat, but which just as surely can be suppressed and then evaporated upon due consideration of the actual situation.

So, too, the natural inclination of "the bad guys" is to scoff or at least look askance at the truth when it is presented to them. But just as natural for most will be reflection and a reset of view upon due consideration of firmly-presented evidence that their prior understanding has been incorrect. (I say "most" because, of course, there ARE some actual BAD guys in the barrel-- see the article that follows this one for a little whimsy on that score.)

HERE, THEN, IS THE TAKE-AWAY: Those of us who want "the bad guys" to no longer behave as such must be active conduits of the truth. We need to be energetic antidotes to the Kool-Aid.

This means communicating, with utter confidence, unblinking firmness and our best creative efforts at inducing examination of the evidence, what we know and can prove to be true about the law in contradiction of the Kool-Aid misunderstanding.

It also means rigid self-honesty in rejecting things floating around in cyberspace that seem favorable to our interests but which cannot be proven with hard evidence, and are based only on "this is how it ought to be" reasoning. These latter things are actually Kool-Aid products themselves-- the path into foreign parts that America has unfortunately traveled these last 80 years has been the embrace of "ought to be" doctrines in the interpretation of the law.

The difference between real truth and preferred truth is the difference between, for example, the facts about the law supported by this body of actual evidence as compared to-- again, for example-- elaborate contentions about the evils of fractional-reserve banking, something that might well be bad but which cannot be proven to involve a misunderstanding or misstatement of the fundamental law (and is widely misunderstood within the activist community generally, as well), or worse, contentions based on actual misrepresentations of facts and authorities by purported Kool-Aid opponents, as in the examples discussed here, here and here.

The presence of all those bits of faulty and/or false nonsense in the air makes the provable truth much harder for even a well-meaning "bad guy" to perceive. Thus, opponents of the Kool-Aid must focus like lasers on spreading indisputable debunks of the poison, while eschewing-- and even actively denouncing-- all the sub-flavors, however passionately or attractively offered by outside-the-mainstream peddlers.

THE FACT IS, THE BAD GUYS don't want to be bad. They are mostly just misled, as each of us was at one time.

Don't ever despair of them; just recognize the need to educate them. Every single educated American should make it a mission to get 10 others-- especially those in the legal, accounting, human resources, journalism and judicial professions-- to read through this file.

By that one little effort, America can and will reverse course and return home at long last from the perilous foreign land in which we now abide.

Of Course, There ARE Some Actual BAD Guys...

And they can be helpful.

I SPOKE IN THE COMMENTARY ABOVE about the fact that some "bad guys" really are bad-- that is, knowingly abusive or defiant of the actual law concerning the tax. I speculate that this is simply a matter of what is seen as the self-interest of these villains, who imagine themselves better off exploiting the Kool-Aid fiction than being faithful to the truth.

I also observed the need for creative efforts to spread the truth. Below, I offer an example of the latter (posted previously on this page 13 years ago) which makes use of the certain existence of the former.

Anyone out there with the right kind of production skills or contacts is encouraged to do up a good-quality video version of this little screen-play. Everyone else is encouraged to be inspired by it in formulating (and deploying) other efforts at awakening sleeping, Kool-Aid-besotted Americans.

If Only I Could Afford To Run This On National TV…

The scene comes into focus on an IRS auditor’s office. The auditor is behind his desk and a ‘tax professional’ is on the other side. A thick file folder lies on the desk and a few forms and other papers are spread out.

The auditor is saying, “I’ll want $2500 from your client. I’m going to disallow these deductions and add $1000 in penalties and interest”.

“No, give them the home office expenses and waive the interest on the rest," the professional responds. "You’ll still nick ‘em for $1800-- which’ll make your supervisor happy-- and they’ll have just enough left to pay my bill”.

“Yeah, OK,” the auditor replies, “But you owe me. I’ll get it out of that Smith fellow we’ll be meeting about next Tuesday. His wallet’s fat.”

They both laugh.

The professional gathers up the loose papers from the desk and slips them into his briefcase, then rises and puts on an expensive overcoat. He stops for a moment with his hand on the doorknob and asks, with a twinkle in his eye, “Do you ever wonder what they would all do if they found out the truth?”

The auditor’s eyes narrow. “What, about the real meaning of 'income'? Bite your tongue! We’d both be ridden out of town on a rail. Or worse.” He tugs nervously at his collar, which suddenly seems disturbingly tight.

The professional waves off the other’s concern. “It’d never come to that,” he says dismissively, “This is a civilized country. Besides, they’d all have so much money to spend, they wouldn’t have time for recriminations.” Both men chuckle. As the professional opens the door and walks out into the hallway, the auditor says, “OK, you’re right. Necktie parties are unlikely. But we’d both be in the poorhouse.”

The professional stops and turns. "Well, don’t even worry about that,” he replies. “After all, who do they ask when they want to know what the law says?” Both men laugh again. “Right you are,” agrees the auditor. “See you Tuesday.”

The two men wave, and the professional turns again to go. As his smiling face approaches the camera’s view the scene fades to a Corvette zipping along a country road on a beautiful autumn day, overwritten with the message:

"The average American, burdened with the “income” tax, can afford a Kia. The same American, free of the “income” tax, could afford a Corvette."

Learn the Truth at losthorizons.com

Alternate ending:

A mom sharing a happy and wholesome moment with her several children, with the message:

"One person’s earnings burdened with the “income” tax isn’t enough to let many families truly make ends meet. The same earnings without the “income” tax can allow one parent to stay home and raise the kids."

Learn the Truth at losthorizons.com

Or:

A montage of a man and his elderly father watching breakers roll in to shore beneath a beautiful sunset; a woman doing volunteer work in the local hospital; a man standing to speak at a city council meeting; a woman back in school studying the classics; with the message:

"A lot of people burdened with the "income" tax find it necessary to work long hours of overtime, or even take second jobs. Without the tax, there's a lot more time for the really important things in life."

Illuminating anniversaries of this week:

July 25- In 1861, the Union Congress passes the Crittendon Resolution, admitting that the war against the seceding Southern States was not being conducted to end slavery, but rather to forcibly maintain an ongoing relationship that the North found beneficial and that the South did not.  In 1868, Wyoming is organized as a United States territory.  In 1898, United States troops invade Puerto Rico.  In 1920, the first transatlantic two-way radio exchange takes place.  In 1952, Puerto Rico adopts a United States-approved "Constitution".  In 1959, a hovercraft takes a trip over the English Channel for the first time.  In 2010, WikiLeaks publishes a huge batch of documents revealing previously withheld information on United States military activities in Afghanistan.

A Few Words About Fake News

Being a dispositive debunk of the "Russian Meddling" ploy.

WHILE DOING UPDATES for this week's 'Illuminating Anniversaries' posts, I came upon a comical entry in Wikipedia for July 27, obviously made sometime over the last ten days. The thing offers a great model for deconstructing and debunking the "Russian Meddling" nonsense.

Here's the post:

2016: At a news conference in Florida, U.S. Presidential Candidate Donald Trump publicly appealed to Russia to find and release private emails from Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton; a Special Counsel investigation (2017–present) later determined that Russian operatives began hacking into servers at the Democratic National Committee on that same day, leading to the historic July 13, 2018 indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers.

What an amazing collection of arrant nonsense!

LET'S BEGIN with the mendaciously-worded assertion that "Trump publicly appealed to Russia". Really?

Take a look at that "appeal". It seems to me that Trump's tongue was so thoroughly in cheek during his sarcastic suggestion that he could have tasted that morning's aftershave:

Further, the emails to which Trump referred were NOT those allegedly hacked from the DNC server. Nor were they "private emails" as said by this mendacious Wikipedia poster. The emails about which Trump made his joke are those from the private server on which Hillary Clinton was illegally storing State Department emails, which were illegally deleted while under subpoena from Congress.

WHAT'S MORE, as you just saw in the video above, Trump refers to the alleged DNC email hack-- which the brain-dead but gleeful Wikipedia troll says was prompted by Trump's "public appeal to Russia" and began "that same day"-- during the July 27, 2016 news conference itself. Trump must be psychic as well as the devil incarnate...

But not really. In fact, the DNC email public dump had taken place on July 22, five days prior to Trump's little joke. Acquisition of the emails had obviously pre-dated Trump's remark even further.

SPEAKING OF THAT ACQUISITION of the emails, the troll then goes on to say that Special Counsel Robert Mueller "determined" that "Russian operatives" began hacking into DNC servers..." Actually, Mueller "determined" nothing, even without regard to the troll's sloppiness regarding the date (a sloppiness interestingly mirrored by Business Insider, PBS and The Week, at least...).

All Mueller has done is allege that "Russian operatives" hacked the DNC servers. More, he has done so with a charade of charges that sound damning to those who don't understand the nature of an indictment but mean nothing in and of themselves, and which will never be tested in court.

However, though worthless as evidence against Trump or any Russian, this "hacking" allegation brings us to the dispositive debunk of all this "Russian Meddling" nonsense that I promised you at the beginning, and which is the one and only thing that needs to be said in response to any "meddling": EVEN AFTER THE DNC EMAIL DUMP, AND TO THIS DAY, NO US INTELLIGENCE OR INVESTIGATIVE OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY HAS EVER DONE A FORENSIC EXAMINATION OF THE DNC SERVERS.

In tandem with the wonderful WikiLeaks revelations of the CIA's "Vault 7" tools specifically designed to allow US deep state operatives to create false "evidence" of hacking by "Russian operatives" (or anyone else), the failure of Mueller and everyone else in his line of work to actually examine the servers he claims were hacked makes clear that Mueller must know better already or isn't even interested in the truth.

Thus, it is axiomatic that what Mueller says (and by extension, what Mueller's fellow travelers say) is either NOT the truth, or can't be taken by any rational person as having any basis for faith.

Instead, the Vault 7 capability, perhaps, and certainly the failure of US law enforcement to examine the DNC servers, make clear that everything being done in the "Russian Meddling" dog-and-pony show has had a pre-determined outcome. Mueller doesn't need to know if the servers were hacked. The allegations that they were, and were hacked by Russia (whether or not at DJT's instigation or for his benefit) were policy-based, not evidence dependent.

Russia's "responsibility" was "determined" even before the emails were released.

THE IMMEDIATE UTILITY OF THE LIE was the diversion of public attention from the Hillary-damning content of those emails. Support for the long-running deep state hobgoblin project of demonizing Russia was the larger purpose.

That demonization is used to justify a massive military budget by which lots of folks in Washington and the "security" industries are kept in high cotton. Beyond that purely pragmatic rationale, I suspect there is some psychology in play, as well. The neo-cons are legacy Trotsky-ites with an in-the-bone hatred of modern Russia, and also appear to have an even more deeply-seated subconscious desire to burn down the world, as suggested by their incessant war-mongering anywhere and everywhere.

SO, SLAP THIS "RUSSIA MEDDLING" BS across the chops every time it shows 'em. The world is sick of official US lies about anyone and everyone it decides it doesn't like. They are a shameful display of institutional sociopathy.

Plus, the policies on behalf of which these lies are promulgated threaten the lives of your children (and you, too, for that matter). We need to denounce these liars and drive them from office before they do still more harm.

It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime.

-Thomas Paine

P.S. The conclusions of an actual examination of the evidence makes clear that not only were the DNC emails not hacked by Russians, but they weren't hacked at all.

HERE IS THE LAW, IN 7 PAGES.

HERE IS HOW THE SCHEME WORKS, IN 8 PAGES.

HERE IS HOW TO OVERCOME THE SCHEME AND ENFORCE THE LAW, IN 256 PAGES.

Share these all, everywhere you can. Be your most creative self in sending and "selling" these links. Do memes; make gifs; respond to everything in the news that would be or have been better had the state been small, or if Americans kept their money for their own uses.

If you pay attention to the news and train yourself to apply these perspectives, you will see a dozen things of which you can make use in awakening other Americans to the virtues of having the income tax correctly administered. Please, for my sake, for your own sake, for the sake of your children and their future, make that use.

A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EVERYONE!!!

DUE TO CHRONIC AND ESCALATING interferences by ISPs (or others) which have made newsletter emails an extremely time-consuming and increasingly unreliable announcement mechanism, I have transitioned to alternative announcement methods. These include:

  • Twitter (click here to follow me and receive the announcement posts-- set for push notifications);

  • Facebook (click here to "like" the losthorizons page and receive the announcement posts);

  • GAB (click here to follow me and receive the announcement posts).

If you choose one of these social media options (or use them in addition to other means, as I wish you would), PLEASE get the full value out of them by diligently "liking" and "retweeting" or "sharing" or "reposting" my posts! That will significantly improve their visibility to others, and very much help the cause!!

  • My RSS feed:

(Members of the state CtC Warrior forums in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, MN, MO, NE, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA or WI, will continue to get the regular announcements if the membership is set to receive email updates.)

NOTE: I will still not be engaging in correspondence by any of these alternative, social media means-- those wishing to correspond should continue to use email for this purpose.

NOTE II: PLEASE help ensure that others in the CtC community know about this change in newsletter delivery!!

The craziness of the neo-con nutcases in Washington is starting to generate its predictable blowback, but on a much more dangerous scale than in the recent past.

Based on relentless hostile rhetoric and steady efforts at military encirclement the Russian Federation Armed Forces Command has concluded that the United States intends to launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack on Russia. While this perception continues to be fed, the risk of a prophylactic Russian first strike exists and grows more perilous.

The persistent, recently-escalated, plainly unfounded and deliberately provocative saber-rattling against Iran-- a long-time close ally and buffer-state of Russia's, the destabilization or regime-change within which would be another substantial threat factor-- has magnified the intensity of the peril.

So, more than ever...

Regarding Trolleries

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from learning the truth about the "income tax") )

FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This effort involves official government websites and press releases touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds with some CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the real substance of the ruling)-- and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.

Are the presentations and resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?

Tim Kendrick has posted a video on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to feel obligated in any way.

But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only the cost of a cheap paperback.

Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support. No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to act let it be solely because it seems right.

Why Does The Government Lie About 'Cracking the Code'?

THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION is the key to the restoration of the republic and the rule of law in America. See it below. (NOTE: It's very important that the entire 24 minutes be viewed.)

This video can also be found on YouTube at https://youtu.be/hgzzYl-eeUI.

Here are links to the two pages to which viewers are directed at the end of the film: The Crime of the Century and The Truth About The 16th Amendment.

The other two mentioned in the film are this one (the "bulletin board" stack of 1,200 or so posted refunds and other victories in knowledgably applying the law; and this one (the collection of resisted claims and the outcomes of those little battles).

PLEASE be a real activist about sending this link to every single person in your address book, and about sharing it through facebook, reddit, twitter, and any other distribution channel with which you are familiar. Send it to every journalist you can. It's time to really make something happen.

Accompany your emails and posts with with a strong admonishment to watch the film through, and that doing so will show the viewer an individual-empowering, state-restraining truth about the income tax which the government has been trying to keep hidden from view for 75 years and which that person really needs to know. w.

BY THE WAY, as is impossible to miss, I have neither the skills nor the tools to make even moderately good films. This is simply not my forte. Anyone able to do better is encouraged to talk to me about that.

As is ALSO impossible to miss, though-- even in my amateur production-- reader video testimonials have GREAT POWER. Send me yours.

Media Evasion Of CtC Must End, Now

Time, unfortunately, is on the side of the well-funded disinformation specialists class

Illuminating Anniversaries:

July 28- In 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was declared ratified, despite considerable irregularities in the process.  As this amendment is a source of much misunderstanding within the "tax honesty" community, I refer those interested in the subject to the discussion here.  In 1914, World War I begins.  In 1945, a B-25 bomber crashes into the 79th floor of the Empire State building.  The building does not collapse.  In 2010, an Airbus A321-231 jetliner crashed in the hills north of Islamabad, Pakistan, killing all onboard, and producing a wreckage site of the kind ALWAYS produced by an actual crash, as is seen in the photos at the beginning of this page.  In 2017, Pakistan's Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, then serving his third (non-consecutive) term, was found guilty of corruption by a unanimous Supreme Court and barred from office for life. This resulted from a 2016 document dump of millions of leaked internal files from a law firm handling Sharif's private business dealings by the Washington, DC-based imitator of WikiLeaks known as 'The International Consortium of  Investigative Journalists'.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance:

Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Or how about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying the same?

Now you just have to explain that you're going to show exactly those things-- but because the state really doesn't want people to know this, these things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press release. But it'll be worth the effort...

The View From Wheeling

A twelve-toed analysis

by Fred Reed

I’m trying to figure out politics. It’s slow going. I’m just a holler hopper out of West Virginia, and I guess I puzzle easy. Maybe you can help me.

I reckon America is pretty much a dictatorship now. It’s because one man, just one, does anything he wants to other countries and to us and everything else. I mean, he starts trade wars, to make everything cost more, which I don’t remember anybody voting for. Maybe I just wasn’t paying attention, though..He sends troops to Africa without telling anybody if he feels like it, which he mostly does. I guess somebody somewhere must want our troops in Africa, but I don’t know anybody who does.

Then he puts sanctions on all the countries he’s heard of, which probably isn’t many, but maybe has a map to find new ones. You know, like Nambia. He obeys Israel like it was his mother, and wants a war with Eye-ran so he’ll get campaign money in New York, and wants a fight with places like China, and Russia too.

Now that’s smart. I bet you wake up at night and think, Dear God, please let us have a war with China, so we can all melt into chicken fat or at least Walmart won’t have anything to sell. Think how much money people would save.

Continued...

Click here to read the rest of this article

Fred is 100% correct in the substance of his observations. So what do good Americans do in response? Rely on the political process to cure this deep and dangerous infection (which is not unique to anyone currently in office, of course)? That hasn't worked too well...

How about the We the People do as the Founders meant for us to do, and stop fueling Washington's bad behavior?

Aren't you REALLY, REALLY glad YOU'VE had the fortitude and clarity of vision to do that?

Now ask yourself this: Have I really done all that I can to urge everyone I know to also stand up and act in the only way that will really bring about change in my lifetime?

*****

EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite means..."

About The Author

Pete Hendrickson is possibly the most effective lawyer in history, even while never having set foot in a law school, nor ever being a card-carrying member of "the bar". He is the first American in history to secure a complete refund of Social Security and Medicare ‘contributions’ withheld from his earnings (along with all other property taken for federal taxes); further, since 2003 students of his legal analyses and arguments in ‘Cracking the Code- The Fascinating Truth About Taxation In America’’ (CtC), and its sequel, 'Was Grandpa Really a Moron?' have been routinely retaining and recovering billions of dollars which otherwise-- wrongly, but as a matter of course-- would have gone to federal or state government treasuries. This despite concerted efforts by government to suppress his work, and in some cases vigorously oppose the claims by his students.

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of Mensa; an award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International Society for Individual Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across the country.

Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design, manufacture and installation firm.

Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers. He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and distribution systems in four states, and designed and administered the company's website.

On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative force behind a small board- and card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several years.

Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his next book.
