For better or for worse, many Americans invested emotionally in Trump. They bought into the sales pitch that Trump was the "non-politician" who was going to break the mold, drain the swamp, change things up. In other words, a lot of folks viewed Trump through exactly the same rose-colored glasses applied to every new face in the Oval Office by a big swath of the American people. The only difference with DJT is that the emotional investment is a bit stronger than usual. THE HIGHER-THAN-USUAL INVESTMENT IN TRUMP (which was also enjoyed
by Barack Obama) is because Americans increasingly perceive this beloved country
going way off the rails at a frighteningly high speed. With
the CtC solution continuing to
be successfully suppressed by government corruption, journalistic inattention
and an insufficiency of
vigorous activism (a change in any one of which would turn things around--
which one is within YOUR power?), "The new guy riding into town isn't like the others," people tell themselves, in a big buy-in to campaign rhetoric carefully sculpted to encourage just such a delusion. In Trump's case the buy-in has been turbo-charged by the seemingly manic apparent opposition to him by "Never Trumpers" in establishment Republican ranks (which many Trump supporters have long viewed as a big part of the problem) and by the "liberal" community. This apparent manic opposition conveys the sense that Trump must really be a threat to the status quo, else the architects and beneficiaries of the status quo wouldn't be so exercised about his presidency, right? If the pigs are squealing so loudly, that new farmer must have them on short slops, right? It's a great political boost. Maybe this is why Trump has been so lackadaisical in his responses to the Mueller investigation, which he could easily have torpedoed years ago with a simple airing from his bully pulpit of the well-established but MSM deep-sixed fact that the DNC emails were copied onto a thumb-drive by a whistle-blowing insider and in no way "hacked"-- by Russians or anyone else.
In fact (and to the point of this article), Donald Trump has persisted in Constitution- and statute-violating conduct committed by each of at least his five most recent predecessors, and added a few new ones to the mix, as well. Let's look at them:
Each one of these violations merit impeachment and removal from office. In fact, each and every one of these violations demand impeachment and removal from office. However... THERE IS AN EFFORT UNDERWAY BY SOME IN CONGRESS (and others) to pursue impeachment of Donald Trump merely on the grounds of "obstruction of justice", based on evidence (or at least allegations) presented in the "Mueller Report". This effort is misguided and harmful. While I have not read the full Mueller Report myself, what I have seen has made clear that it is a sloppy, allegation-rich, evidence-free assemblage of politically-motivated eyewash. Thus, just on the most rudimentary level, an attempt to pursue impeachment based on anything in that report is bound to result in many months of rancorous, partisan exchanges of empty rhetoric, with a certain defeat in the Senate waiting at the end of the catfight. Much more to the point, even if an impeachment on an "obstruction" charge succeeded, it would present no deterrence to Trump's successors against any of the far more serious offenses outlined above. Further, to forego impeachment for the offenses outlined above-- whether in realistic hope of success on an obstruction charge or not-- is to endorse them. What a far-too-long-supine and co-opted Congress should do is issue a loud mea culpa acknowledging its past institutional abdications and culpabilities and then begin the process of making amends and reacquainting itself with its own powers and duties by impeaching Trump. Shyness from hypocrisy has seldom hindered any of these folks in doing the wrong thing in the past; it certainly can't justify any failure to do the right thing now. SO, URGE YOUR CONGRESSCRITTERS to proceed full-steam on impeachment. But only on the proper grounds, which means on each and every one of the grounds in that bullet-point list above. Impeachment is a serious business. It is available and intended to boot office-holders suspected of pedestrian crimes like "obstruction of justice", of course. But its bigger and better purpose is to repudiate bad policy and steer America away from dangerous paths toward which her feet have been led by law-defying executives. Sadly, the will for impeachment arises only rarely. It should be a routine event. Speaking of "Shays' Rebellion" in Massachusetts in 1787, Thomas Jefferson said this: “God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ... And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.” Surely such a mundane, peaceful and often obviously sensible and appropriate remedy as impeachment of an offending executive ought to be called upon at least as often as Jefferson's prescribed schedule for armed rebellions! But it is not. Therefore, this moment of the hot iron should be carefully used to maximum advantage. That means squaring up and conducting Donald Trump's impending impeachment-- for the right reasons.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?? SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance: Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Or how about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying the same? Now you just have to explain that you're going to show exactly those things-- but because the state really doesn't want people to know this, these things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press release. But it'll be worth the effort... *****

***** About The Author Pete Hendrickson is possibly the most effective lawyer in history, even while never having set foot in a law school, nor ever being a card-carrying member of "the bar". He is the first American in history to secure a complete refund of Social Security and Medicare ‘contributions’ withheld from his earnings (along with all other property taken for federal taxes); further, since 2003 students of his legal analyses and arguments in ‘Cracking the Code- The Fascinating Truth About Taxation In America’’ (CtC), and its sequel, 'Was Grandpa Really a Moron?' have been routinely retaining and recovering billions of dollars which otherwise-- wrongly, but as a matter of course-- would have gone to federal or state government treasuries. This despite concerted efforts by government to suppress his work, and in some cases vigorously oppose the claims by his students. Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of Mensa; an award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and as a member of the International Society for Individual Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across the country. Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design, manufacture and installation firm. Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the twelve years before his present full-time focus on the restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+ apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers. He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and distribution systems in four states, and designed and administered the company's website. On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the primary creative force behind a small board- and card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several years. Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan, with his wife and two children.
