Those Saying "NO!" To "Vaccine" Mandates Are NOT
"Quitting Their Jobs"
These good and true Americans are being forced out of
(often) public service for refusing to pay homage to a lie.
"There is no safety for honest men but by believing all
possible evil of evil men."
-Edmund Burke
Let's Start With Some Relevant Facts
I'M GOING TO BEGIN THIS OBSERVATION ABOUT "VACCINE"
MANDATES with some illuminating data posted by the CDC which shed light
on some of the very key factors guiding many sensible people to refuse
the jab. Let's start with this general US fatality distribution
breakdown
from
the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) as of October 20,
2021:
So, 75.9% of all declaredly C19 deaths-- that is, of all
the deaths included within the scary number hypnotically-repeated by the
MSM and many government sources (723,880 at the time of this breakdown
and up to 735,717 reported by Johns Hopkins University as of 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 23, according to the October 24 Detroit Free Press)--
have occurred within the 65-and-over age group. Only 20.3% have involved
people between 45 and 64 years old; and only 3.8%-- 27,476-- have
involved people under 45 years old.
Even with just this modest set of data, and even if we
pretend that all deaths declared to be C19 deaths are actually from
C19 (more on that in a big way in a moment) it is clear that for the
191,060,000 American residents under 45, C19 is a minor hazard.
Remember, we are talking about a declared death toll of 27,476 over
the course of nearly two years.
For the 82,760,000 American residents between 45-64, the
threat is a bit more serious (or so it would appear), but still not even
close to a raging plague. Frankly, even for the 65+ group, the number
here is more a (notable) statistical uptick than a legitimate fear
factor. After all, more than 3 million Americans die each year, and the
vast majority of them are from the 65+ demographic. Here, we speak of
only 549,716 deaths among a population group consisting entirely of
people statistically expected to be steadily dying in large numbers at
all times, and again, over the course of not just a year but 22 months.
HOWEVER, TAKE ALL OF THE ABOVE AS YOU WILL, it is just the
scary facade of the actual data. The numbers presented are nothing but
the sleazy tools of a crass and illiberal political agenda. Nowhere near
the numbers cited above have actually died from C19.
Digging a bit further into
the NCHS data
reported by the CDC, we find some very seriously-clarifying data
showing the ACTUAL causes of death for the vast majority of these
723,880 deaths attributed to C19 by those wanting to foment and maintain
panic. I'm going to share the charts showing the incidences of the most
common of more than 20 non-C19 causes of death involved in the numbers
given above (you can click on the link above to see the rest if you
wish).
In the top center of the following charts you will see the
cause of death being illustrated. On the left side of the body of the
chart is shown the number of persons from among the 723,880 to have died
from that cause, with C19 allegedly (and in many cases, only assumedly)
present (per the fudging guidelines promulgated by the government as
shown
here and
here; highlighting on those docs is mine).
Note the scale on the extreme left of each chart indicating
the number of persons from among each age group among the 723,880 in
which the given cause of death was involved. The right side of the
charts show the comparative prevalence of each individual cause of death
and the rate of incidence-- itself a very revealing presentation, with
three categories each being involved in well over 200,000 of the
reported deaths and the other seven shown being involved in ~70,000 to
~150,000 each.
A lot to take in, I know. But I hope everyone noted that
huge numbers of both the 45-64-year-old and 65+ categories, especially,
which represent 96.2% of the total fatalities ascribed to C19 and making
up that scary 733,880 figure breathlessly repeated by the panic-mongers,
were afflicted with kidney failure, diabetes, heart failure, stroke,
hypertension, the flu or pneumonia, and so on.
Also significant are the incidences of these diseases
within the cohort of under 45-year-olds making up the 3.8% of alleged
C19 fatalities included in the scary 733,880 figure. Taken together, the
number of those incidences well exceed the number of deaths making up
that 3.8%.
As shown by the work of Dr. Genevieve Briand,
summarized here, the
normal annual fatality figures for these various diseases actually was
replaced wholesale over most of 2020 (the period on which her research
focused) by ascribed C19 deaths. That is, where a normal week of
reporting in previous years would show, say, 8,000 deaths from heart
disease, in 2020 heart diseases fatalities vanished from the reports.
8,000 C19 deaths appeared in their place.
Here's how that would go: "Uncle Harry had had a bad ticker
for years, and we all knew he could go at any time. When he felt chest
pains and was rushed to the hospital no one was surprised that he died
of a heart attack that night. The weird thing is that the hospital
listed Covid-19 as the cause of death..." Those interested in some
background on the incentives involved should
read the discussion here.
Finally, just to put the greasy icing on this unappetizing
cake, I hope too that everyone noted the last chart I have posted. This
one shows the inclusion in these C19 death stats of 15,000 or so people
who are ascribed as C19 deaths but are actually victims of intentional
or unintentional injury, poisoning, etc...
But you know, they had had a cough, or a bit of a fever, or
maybe a "positive" from a
notoriously unreliable PCR test at some point within a week or two
of shooting themselves, or falling off that ladder, or being hit by that
car. So we'll call it a C19 fatality, right?
Okay, keep that evidence of the actual insignificance of
the C19 threat in mind. To summarize it all, the number of deaths over
the last 22 months which can plausibly be laid at the feet of the C19
virus is actually a tragic but hardly panic-worthy 44,032 (that being
the 6% of the declared total which is quietly distinguished as such by
the CDC itself, as explained in
this statement accompanying a "comorbidity" table published in late
2020). This is a
figure well under the typical toll of a mild seasonal flu if sustained
over the same period.
Now Let's Talk About Those Refusing The "Vaccine"
Injections
ONE TRULY NAUSEATING THEME lately appearing across America
and being glossed-over without comment or criticism by the pressitute
MSM is the pretense that police, firefighters, health-care workers and
others who have been barred from working, and from being paid, for refusal
to get "vaccinated" are voluntarily leaving their jobs, and therefore
are not eligible for unemployment or other benefits. This is false,
outrageous, and deeply corrupt.
Plainly, those declining a suddenly-demanded drug injection and being ordered off their jobs
as a consequence are not
"voluntarily" abandoning those jobs. Rather, they are reacting
to an un-negotiated and dramatic change in working conditions being
imposed by the employer. Receiving the injection was not part of the
job description upon hiring, nor ever agreed to as a condition for
keeping the job.
Further, receiving the injection is not in any way a
routine imposition, such as taking a training course, complying with a
new work schedule, and so forth. In fact, taking the injection has
a permanent, lifelong effect, for good or ill, the scope and nature of
which is not, and cannot be, known by those demanding compliance.
Further still, the drug involved is
dangerous, ineffective
(see reports
here,
here and
here, for instance-- and also
this) and unnecessary for most people, as shown in the data
presented above. It offers at best only very limited
benefits to a small portion of the population (attended by significant
risks) and does nothing to protect anyone other than the recipient,
since those receiving the drug can and do continue to contract and
transmit the virus against which the drug is supposed to protect, simply
(perhaps) with a less severe outcome to the injected person in some
instances (as discussed in detail
here).
Even the insignificant and exclusively personal
benefit described above, which offers no public health benefit whatever,
is so poorly engineered as to already be requiring additional
injections. There is no apparent end in sight, and even murkier long-term
consequences for the victims allowing themselves to be used as guinea
pigs in this manner.
IN LIGHT OF ALL THE FOREGOING, let's put this in
perspective. Imposing the requirement to accept the injection of a drug
when doing so was never in the job description in the first place-- and
especially a drug with this one's track-record of public-health
uselessness and personal danger from adverse effects, not to mention its
uselessness to most people in good health and below the age of 75+ (and
especially those who have already contracted the virus against which it
is supposed to protect, and who have thereby developed
naturally-acquired-- and actually durable and robust-- immunity) is akin
to requiring workers to cut off a little finger in order to keep their
jobs.
Pretending those who decline the "vaccine" are voluntarily
leaving is like pretending those of whom a severed finger is demanded
leave voluntarily when they refuse THAT similarly absurd and improper
imposition. It is outrageous and fraudulent.
All told, no one being described as "quitting a job" by
refusing this new, never-agreed-to and draconian condition of employment
should tolerate that pretense. Nor should he or she tolerate being refused any and all benefits
available to anyone else being fired from a job without good cause.
The
courts in this country should already be flooded with lawsuits against every
local, state and federal government office which has forced anyone out
of work on the basis of refusing these dangerous, medically-useless
injections which from which the vast majority of people-- especially
those in the generally fit, healthy and below 65 work-forces affected by
the mandates and firings-- would receive no benefit even if the
"vaccines" actually prevented infection.
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the
citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to
keep the Government from falling into error."

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected this year should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], over the last several months you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

I finished reading Prof. Randall Holcombe’s book
Liberty in Peril: Democracy and Power in US History during the 2020
election. I have yet to hear any candidate say the word “liberty” and would be
shocked if I did.
We are bombarded with messages for candidates
and messages merely imploring us to vote. Some Americans relish what
they think they’ll get as a result of the election; others dread what
they fear will happen. In any case, we accept that, for all its flaws,
democracy is the way the United States is supposed to work. We almost
never think about whether the policies the candidates favor are
consonant with the freedom Americans were supposed to have — freedom to
live their lives as they choose.
In his book, Holcombe (professor of economics
at Florida State) argues that democracy was not the way the country was
supposed to work. Our founding philosophy was not that democracy should
prevail, but instead that liberty should prevail — that the reason for
government was to protect the individual’s freedom, not to subject him
to the will of the majority. Over time, the philosophy of liberty has
been shoved aside and today democracy rules to the point where, as the
author puts it, liberty has an almost quaint air about it.
As the book’s subtitle suggests, this is a work
of history, looking at the shift from the ideology of liberty to the
ideology of democracy. Holcombe observes that there is a tension between
the two. Under the ideology of liberty, the important question is how to
put limits on government so that it can protect individual rights, while
under the ideology of democracy, the question is who will hold power to
do what the public wants. Where the former prevails, the people tend to
have a healthy wariness about government and desire to keep it in check;
where the latter does, the people eagerly listen to politicians who
promise them benefits from the government.
Unanimity
Holcombe begins his history not with the
Constitution or even with the colonists, but with the Iroquois, the
largest confederation of Indians that European settlers had to deal
with. The Iroquois had an unwritten constitution and its key principle
was unanimity. Colonists who became familiar with the Iroquois system
commented on its “absolute notion of liberty.” The Iroquois had a “Great
Council” composed of tribal chiefs, but it did not act like we expect
legislatures to act — imposing decisions on the people.
Instead, the Great Council facilitated the
building of consensus among the tribes. Questions were debated and then
the chiefs would return to their tribes to assess the sense of their
members. Not until a proposal (and I wish Holcombe had said what kinds
of issues the Iroquois dealt with) was acceptable to all the tribes was
it adopted. That “debate it until we have consensus” mode meant that
little was done, but that was, to the Iroquois, preferable to forcing
people to abide by rules they had not agreed to.
The British colonists found it frustrating to
deal with the Iroquois because their representatives always said, “We
must take this proposal back to our Great Council for consideration,”
but they incorporated the unanimity principle into their own Albany Plan
of Union, drafted in 1754. That Plan was never put into effect, but it
called for unanimous consent among the colonies for any action to be
taken. Consensus was required, not majority rule.
The first government formed in the United
States was the Articles of Confederation, adopted in 1781. Most
historians brush right on past the Articles, but Holcombe thinks them
worth analysis. Under the Articles, we had a unicameral legislature
without any federal executive or judiciary. Proposed amendments required
unanimous consent. The central government had little power, as you would
expect from a people who had just waged a long war to be rid of a
government with, most thought, too much power to violate individual
liberties. The central government could not levy taxes directly, but had
to request funds from the states. Holcombe finds virtue in that
arrangement, since each state could decide whether the expected benefit
of turning funds over to the central government was worth giving up the
best use of those funds within its own borders.
Life in the United States under the Articles
was less than ideal, particularly in the way some states interfered with
interstate commerce, but those problems might have been dealt with by
amending them. Indeed, that was the very purpose of the convention
called in 1787 that we call “the Constitutional Convention.” It was
supposed to be a convention, however, for considering amendments to the
Articles, and more than a few of the delegates objected to the way
certain leaders decided to draft an entirely new plan of government
instead.
For all the Constitution’s restrictions on
federal authority and its famous “checks and balances,” Holcombe finds
that liberty was much more secure under the Articles. That was
especially so because the federal government was no longer accountable
to the states, but was a power center unto itself. Furthermore,
consensus was diluted because the Constitution could be amended with
only two-thirds of the states agreeing, rather than all. And most
troubling of all, the powers given to the federal government were
vaguely worded, such as to “regulate commerce” and “promote the general
welfare.” While the drafters of the Constitution were fearful of
democracy, they opened the door to its growth.
I WOULDN'T NORMALLY OFFER A BOOK REVIEW as an 'Other Voices'
column, especially one reviewing a book I've not yet read (and one which appears
to contain at least some elements with which I would likely take issue). But I'm
a longtime fan of George Leef, an excellent and insightful writer whose heart is
firmly in the right place, and his summary line early in this piece-- "...the
reason for government was to protect the individual's freedom, not to subject
him to the will of the majority"-- can't be said often or widely enough.
Sadly, we live in a country now awash in not merely
ill-educated young adults, but deliberately mis-educated young adults
(with no small number of older Americans equally threatening liberty). A
major element of the mis-education is its elevation of "majority rule"
as a social good with a corresponding memory-holing of the real purpose
of American government, the securing of the blessings of liberty to
ourselves and our posterity.
To the degree that Randall Holcombe's book helps to correct
the "majority rule v. individual liberty" mis-education problem it is
most welcome, and George Leef's presentation of it is worth sharing.
I MENTIONED THAT I LIKELY HAVE ISSUES with some of the
material Holcombe presents. I speak particularly of his apparent
critiques of US Constitutional provisions, which he seems to imagine are
baked-into-the-cake flaws authorizing the arrogant federal sprawl lately
causing such harm both at home and abroad.
My own well-studied view of the matter is quite different.
The Constitution is, after all, just a piece of paper, which is
incapable of enforcing itself. It actually doesn't authorize the
excesses of the last 85 years, and actually prohibits most of them. But
it does the latter successfully only when American men and women stand
up and put some teeth behind the words on that piece of paper.
The Constitution hasn't failed us. We've failed it (or at
least, we have failed the expectations of the spirit that created the
Constitution and perforce left to us, the ones who came after, its
proper understanding and its preservation as the law of the land).
I offer comments

The Constitution is designed to protect sober Peter from

brilliantly put by Justice David Brewer. And it really is so designed.
We just have to sober up and man up and stand up and put

EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?

that's often just because you haven't been sufficiently hard-nosed in your
analysis.
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above may not
be a current edition. CHECK. It matters. Also, there ARE no
e-book, Kindle or .pdf versions of
CtC.
Don't get taken in by efforts to sell you-- or even give you for
free-- any such thing.
October 26- In 1776, Benjamin Franklin
heads for France to enlist its support for the American revolutionaries. In
1825, the Erie Canal opens between Lake Erie and Albany, New York. In 1881,
there is a gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. In 1947, Britain
removes the last of its military forces from Iraq, 15 years after granting the
country "independence". In 1977, the last naturally-contracted case of smallpox
is diagnosed, causing this date to be described as the anniversary of the
eradication of this horrific killer (estimated death toll during the 20th
century: 300 - 500 million). However, the United States military establishment
(and possibly its Russian counterpart) have maintained live cultures of the
virus to this day. In 2001, the USA PATRIOT Act is signed into law by George W.
Bush. In 2014, Britain withdraws from its more-than-12-year involvement in the
failed US invasion of Afghanistan, which had been launched on the false pretext
of Afghani complicity in the events of 9/11/2001.

October 27- In 1553, Michael Servetus, the first European
scientist to describe pulmonary circulation, is burned at the stake as a heretic
for disputing the orthodox Christian doctrine of the Trinity. In 1810, the
United States annexes the Spanish colony of West Florida. In 1904, the New York
Subway opens. In 1958, 20 days after being appointed the enforcer of martial
law in Pakistan by President Iskander Mirza, General Ayub Khan deposes Mirza in
a coup. In 1964, Ronald Reagan launches his political career with his 'A Time
For Choosing' speech on behalf of "Robert Taft Republican" presidential
candidate Barry Goldwater. In 1997, stock markets around the world crash over
fears of a global economic meltdown; the Dow plunges 554.26 before the NYSE is
closed early. In 2004, the Boston Red Sox win their first World Series in 86
years. In 2017, Catalonia declares independence from Spain.

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to
discourage people from rebutting allegations that
they had done things I can tax, and wanted to keep them from
successfully reclaiming withheld or paid-in money, I
would salt the "tax honesty" community with
passionate-seeming "legal researchers" who would
warn anyone whose ear they captured that filing a
1040 is a bad idea for one reason or another...

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
October 28- In 1886, the Statue of Liberty is dedicated by
President Grover Cleveland. In 1918, Czechoslovakia is granted independence
from Austria-Hungary. In 1919, Congress passes the Volstead Act over Woodrow
Wilson's veto, by which Prohibition would begin two months later. In 1922,
Mussolini's fascists march on Rome and take over the government of Italy. In
1929, the markets keep falling (Black Monday). In 1962, US President John F.
Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita Khruschev reach an agreement for the removal
of American-targeted nuclear missiles from Cuba, in exchange for a pledge of no
American invasion of the island nation and the eventual removal of American
missiles targeting the Soviet Union from Turkey and Italy. In 2005, Lewis
(Scooter) Libby is indicted on perjury and obstruction of justice charges over
his efforts to shield Bush administration officials from consequences related to
the Valerie Plame affair. Eventually convicted, Libby's prison sentence was
promptly commuted by George W. Bush.
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...

October 29- In 1929, Black Tuesday marks the completion of the
manifest onset of the Great Depression-- the first major symptom of the disease
known as "The Federal Reserve". In 1969, the first computer-to-computer link is
established in the ARPANET (precursor to the internet). 21-year-old Al Gore, in
his third month in the Army, is busy learning to spin stories for 'Stars and
Stripes' at the time.

October 30- In 1922, Benito Mussolini is named Prime
Minister of Italy. In 1938, Orson Welles broadcasts his 'War of the Worlds'
hoax about an invasion from Mars causing a certain amount of panic and
proving that some people will believe any outlandish nonsense if it's
asserted with enough audacity and via established mainstream media
channels. In 2014, Sweden becomes the first European Union country to

Last Word
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We
seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that
feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget
that ye were our countrymen."

Adams, Architect of the first American Revolution

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on
matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works
are collected in his second book, ‘Upholding
the Law And Other Observations’. He is a member of Mensa;
an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and
has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of
Michigan’s largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a
consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens
for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and
as a member of the International Society for Individual
Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across
the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
