Virtue can be found all over this wonderful country of ours:
November 22- In 1718, the pirate known
as Blackbeard is killed off the coast of North Carolina in a fight with a
British warship. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas,
Texas. In 1987, two Chicago-area television signals are hijacked briefly by an
unknown pirate dressed as Max Headroom.

HEY, People! Please don't just
read what I post here (or anywhere), and nod your head sagely or
approvingly and then move on to other things. I don't post in order
to affirm your sense of things. I post in order to equip you with
perspectives and arguments with which to
educate others, and in the
expectation that you will forward my posts to other people (or
direct them to those posts). PLEASE do those things.
We won't win by YOU knowing what I
present. We will win by LOTS OF OTHERS knowing what I present.
A Small But Bright Point Of Light
...that you've just got to love; along with a counterpoint
of darkness to put it in perspective.
WHILE DOING SOME CLEAN-UP of the incredible tonnage of
tax-related flotsam and jetsam that has washed up on my shores over the
years, I came across a long-forgotten smile-inducing item I had found
way back in the early "aughts" of this new century during what, despite
the war of aggression against Iraq and the USA PATRIOT Act outrage,
almost seem like "the good old days" compared to today's COVID coup and
Brandon's Build Back Broken agenda. The pleasing find is a newsletter
from a small outfit doing business as the United Methodist Federal
Credit Union. Here's the masthead:
Nothing exciting in that little segment, of course, or in
most of the rest of the two page newsletter, for that matter. But at the
bottom of that first page we find this little gem:
Gotta love it, right? There ARE good Americans out there,
even in the financial services industry where a good deal of the
rule-of-law rubber actually hits the road.
Back when the newsletter from which I have taken these
excerpts was published, there were two UMFCU locations. Now there appear
to be seven, in various states across the country, and doing business
under a new name, 'Interfaith Federal Credit Union'.
Maybe there's a branch near you, and maybe these folks have
held on to their virtues. If so, this may be the place where you
want to do your banking, rewarding that virtue with your business, and
enjoying its benefits for yourself.
Those who want to find the answers to either question can
find the organization's website here.
***
On the other hand...
WHILE WE'RE ALL ENJOYING THE UPLIFT provided by the
good folks at UMFCU/IFCU, let's take a moment to remember why the
organization's simple statement of respect for the law-- which should be
taken for granted but sadly, cannot be-- is so important. To help make
this clear, I'm going to share another statement I came across just the
other day, looking over documents involved in a long-running and tedious
IRS 'Whack-a-Mole' ploy in which the agency has spent years evading a
simple claim for the refund of ~$4K of improperly-withheld money under
the FICA provisions.
This story begins with an agency admission that the
educated claimants had done nothing taxable and owed no tax. At the same
time, however, the agency alleged that nothing had been withheld (or
hadn't been shown to have been withheld), and therefore nothing was to
be refunded:
The claimants (who will remain anonymous for this
discussion, and until the entire story of this 'Every
Which Way But Loose' episode is ready for the telling), didn't just
accept the proffered "settlement". Instead, they very resolutely and
capably pushed back
These good Americans know and respect the law, and
want what belongs to them. They also know that it's not about the
money-- it's about the fact that when someone lets the state get away
with NOT obeying the law, more and more evasions and corruptions are
encouraged and committed, which increasingly involve more and more
dangerous transgressions than just tax crimes.
NOW, ALL OF WHAT I'VE RECOUNTED SO FAR is almost
unremarkable. The IRS has been trying to dodge refunds even when having
no grounds for doing so; even when having admitted that nothing taxable
was done upon which either the normal tax or the FICA surtaxes could
arise; and even when doing so involves blatant falsehoods about amounts
withheld for several years. Several dozen
CtC-educated filers
have had to deal with these ridiculous pretenses-- maybe more.
But in this case, someone at the IRS ran a bit off the
rails. After the claimants had responded to that CP13 excerpted above,
declining the "just walk away" proposal, an agency "LTR916C" followed.
Two remarkable statements are made in this escalation attempt, neither
of which I think I have ever before seen in print. They are outlined in
the scanned section below:
Wow!
Each of these bodacious statements is a crafty attack on
the grounding and confidence of the filer(s). Each is a corrupt
distortion of the law/misrepresentation of the facts as part of that
effort.
THE FIRST HIGHLIGHTED STATEMENT seeks to disregard the
sworn testimony submitted as part of the return by way of Form 4852-- a
document expressly provided as proof of the federal withholding claimed,
and one of fully equal stature to a W-2 which might otherwise have been
included in a similar filing, depending on circumstances. The pretense
is that the Form 4852-- which is, in fact, published by the IRS
specifically for use as a substitute document of equal legal
stature to a W-2 (or 1099-R)-- somehow doesn't count, and that the only
proof of withholding acceptable to the IRS is the latter document.
The ploy is transparently meant to induce the filer to send
the agency a W-2, implicitly endorsing everything alleged upon it, even
though it's likely allegation of payments of "wages" (as defined at 26
U.S.C. §§ 3121(a) and 3401(a)) might be incorrect, and would
contradict the claim for refund of the withheld amounts.
(That first statement also implies that the IRS never
received a W-2 from the party which did the withholding. I doubt this,
though I can't say it isn't true. Still, if it is true, the
obviously proper course would be inquiring of that party rather than
implying-- from a position of zero agency knowledge of any relevant
facts-- that the filer is lying, and lying under oath, at that.)
WHATEVER MAY BE DERIVED from the language of the first
remarkable statement on this "LTR916C" directly, the color is put
unmistakably upon it by the second remarkable statement: "[T]he taxpayer
will need to demonstrate he/she truly earned wages for which the
withholding credit is being claimed..."
WOW!!
First, let's be clear-- there is
no legal basis for this claim whatsoever. No law, and not even
any regulation, asserts or even hints at this ludicrous proposition. It
is pure falsehood.
This statement suggests-- again, falsely-- that there IS
some kind of authority by which the tax agency can just keep money
improperly withheld from someone and given into its keeping against the
possibility of a tax liability being established. The proposition is, of
course, belied by
the $billions recovered by CtC-educated Americans over the last 18 years.
It is also ridiculous on its face.
Remember, withheld amounts are formally held by the
government in escrow, pending a claim for refund or the making and
upholding of a competing government claim to the money:
“[Withheld or paid-in amounts] are, as it were, payments
in escrow. They are set aside, as we have noted, in special suspense
accounts established for depositing money received when no assessment is
then outstanding against the taxpayer. The receipt by the Government of
moneys under such an arrangement carries no more significance than would
the giving of a surety bond. Money in these accounts is held not as
taxes duly collected are held but as a deposit made in the nature of a
cash bond for the payment of taxes thereafter found to be due.”
Rosenman v. United States, 323 US 658 (1945)
In the absence of a competing claim made by the government
(or by the filer through self-assessment), the
claim of the filer from whom the money was
withheld prevails and must be honored. This is expressly articulated in
the law under the "authority to make credits or refunds" section:
(a) General rule
In the case of any overpayment, the Secretary, within the
applicable period of limitations, may credit the amount of such
overpayment, including any interest allowed thereon, against any
liability in respect of an internal revenue tax on the part of the
person who made the overpayment and shall, subject to
subsections (c), (d), and (e) [deductions for past due obligations to
federal or state agencies] refund any balance to such person.
(Emphasis added.)
26 U.S.C. § 6402- Authority to make credits or
defunds
...and under the tellingly-titled "erroneous payments"
section (which is particularly relevant in the instant case, in which
all the money in escrow was withheld under the provisions of chapter
21):
Any tax paid under chapter 21 or 22 by a taxpayer with
respect to any period with respect to which he is not liable to tax
under such chapter shall be credited against the tax, if any, imposed by
such other chapter upon the taxpayer, and the balance, if any, shall be
refunded.
26 U.S.C. § 3503- Erroneous payments
But we hardly need to get down into these weeds. The simple and
obvious fact is that the second remarkable statement made in the
"LTR916C" by some IRS flack willing to lie for the sake of "the mission"
is just a fabrication meant to fraudulently instruct the filer that he
or she has no legal means by which to reclaim money erroneously
withheld, and should just be content with the IRS agreement that no tax
is due.
SO, THE TAKE-AWAY from this ugly little point of darkness
is that the tax agency (and agencies-- state bureaucracies are often as
bad in this regard as the IRS) should never be taken at face value. Like
the deceptive nonsense in the example above, many, many things that they
say or imply or suggest are complete fictions.
In fact, let's circle back to the top of this piece. Let's
remember that the United Methodist Federal Credit Union earned its place
of honor here today for clarifying for its otherwise ignorant clients
that an IRS "notice of levy" is NOT a valid legal notice by which a
private-sector recipient is compelled to turn over someone else's
property.
But as everyone in this community knows, the agency has
always done everything it can think of to make Americans believe
otherwise, 'cause after all, that's "the mission".
"The Tax Code represents the genius of legal fiction... The
IRS has never really known why people pay the income tax... The IRS
encourages voluntary compliance, through FEAR."
Jack Warren Wade Jr., former IRS officer in charge of the
Nationwide Revenue Officer Training Program, in his book ‘When You Owe
The IRS’
"If the taxpayers of this country ever discovered that we
operate on 98% bluff, the entire system will collapse."
Reported remark by an internal revenue service officer to
Sen. Henry E. Bellmon (R. Okla.) on April 15, 1971.
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the
citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to
keep the Government from falling into error."

Short takes on selected items lately in the
news, such as the admirable Italian government revision of C19 fatality
figures, the silver lining to Kyle Rittenhouse's terrible ordeal, a
solution to the illegal border crossings in Texas, and more.
THE ITALIAN INSTITUTE OF HEALTH has revised its official
total C19 death toll from 130,468 to 3,783, finally acknowledging the
difference between the irrelevant cases of death which was from other
causes but in which C19 was alleged to be present (or had been
purportedly detected sometime within a few weeks or a month of the
death) and those actually brought about by C19 itself.
See the report here.
Were US officials to be similarly honest, the official US
death toll would drop from a frightening,
any-port-in-a-storm-panic-inducing 762,929 to a much more
rational-response-conducive 45,776. (See the analyses
here,
here and
here.)
I wonder why US officials are NOT honest about this?
***
ONE SILVER LINING to the dark cloud of Kyle Rittenhouse's
outrageous ordeal is that after watching the trial, many people should
be awakening to the quantity and quality of deception practiced by the
MSM in service to their agenda. As details emerged during the courtroom
proceedings, it became increasingly clear that not only was everything
reported by the MSM and "official" voices over the last year and more about the events in Kenosha
on August 25, 2020 misrepresented, but the
misrepresentation was so thoroughly contrary to the facts that it had to
be deliberate.
In light of that newly-and-vividly-revealed capacity-- even
enthusiasm-- for corruption in the media (and amongst Democrats in
office), the ability of many Americans to reflexively buy-in to other
narrative threads promoted by these same mendacious voices has to be shaken. A lot of folks who previously had
been dismissive of, for instance, assertions of impropriety in last
year's election-- based on a refusal to look at evidence thereof, due to
media and official declarations that there was nothing to see-- must now
be open to second thoughts.
20 ft. long, 2,000 lb. crocodiles-- the kind that keep
alligators as pets.
Don't you think that might help stem the flood of illegals
pouring across what is supposed to be a border? I do.
What's more, crocs in the river is a cheap, easy and very,
very fast remedy to the illegal immigration problem.
It
could even be administered proactively by private, individual Texans if
the state authorities drag their feet once the proposal is brought to
their attention (responsibility for which I charge the very large,
active and excellent Texas
CtC
communities-- both the state group overall and the especially vigorous
Dallas/Ft. Worth buzzsaw brigade).
I suspect that once the scaly apex predators are first seen
in the water human border patrol force-strengths could be cut by 99%
everywhere except at designated, legitimate entry points. Upside after
upside!
Let me know if you agree...
(Btw,

I WAS DISMAYED TO HEAR two of my favorite commentators on
TV the other day both (in a conversation between them) embrace the
notion that the government's job is to "make our lives better". The
speakers meant well, with the context being the manifestly sound
assertion that the agenda of the Biden cabal doesn't make our lives
better and therefore is to be condemned.
But the formulation fundamentally misunderstands
government's actual role, whether one finds its policies beneficial or
not.
American governments do not exist in order to make anyone's
life better. They exist in order to secure our individual rights to make
our lives better-- to pursue happiness, as it is said.
Not our happiness as it is conceived by a government
policymaker (whether well-conceived or not). Rather, our happiness as
we individually see it, constrained only by our obligation to
respect the equal opportunities and freedoms of others.
The difference matters, and no one should allow this kind
of misstatement to be made in their presence without objection.
***
HAS IT OCCURRED TO ANYONE that the apparent disregard of
the Biden cabal for poll numbers and the otherwise increasingly-manifest
dissatisfaction of the American people with its policies and practices
suggests that it has no concern for the outcomes of the next election?
Has it occurred to anyone that this suggests at least the possibility
that the Biden cabal doesn't expect an adverse official outcome from
those elections, despite all that dissatisfaction-- even though that
dissatisfaction increasingly spreads into the ranks of grass-roots
Democrats as well as Independents?
Who's going to be counting the votes next November? I
suggest that those in a position to do so begin addressing that question
sooner rather than later.
***
FINALLY, I MUST AIR MY DISCONTENT with two bits of nonsense
lately polluting the landscape of populist
political rhetoric: Decrying "the Biden administration's shutdown of the
Keystone pipeline even while it allowed the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to go
forward"; and pretending that actions by the Yemen Houthis, who happened
to receive some support from Iran, are really Iranian actions (so as to
make a condemnation of those actions into a swipe at Iran).
Nord Stream 2 is not a project over which the Biden
administration has control. And actions by the (occasionally)
Iran-supported Houthis are no more "Iranian actions" than actions by
US-supported Turkey, Britain or France are "United States actions".
Twisting the facts like this is intellectually shabby and
erosive of sound policy debate and development. It is also an insult to
those at whom it is directed, who should respond accordingly.
Share these all, everywhere you can. Be your most
creative self in sending and "selling" these links. Do memes; make
gifs; respond to everything in the news that would be or have been
better had the state been small, or if Americans kept their money
for their own uses.
If you pay attention to the news and train yourself to
apply these perspectives, you will see a dozen things of which you
can make use in awakening other Americans to the virtues of having
the income tax correctly administered. Please, for my sake, for your
own sake, for the sake of your children and their future, make that
use.

THANKSGIVING DAY IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE special days of the
year, and not because of the great food. The real virtues of this unique
American celebration lie in the lessons in humility and maturity offered
by its history.
The virtuous lessons to which I refer are offered only by
Thanksgiving's true history, however. That true history is the exact
opposite of the bogus, "Thank God (sorry... politically incorrect...
make that, "Thank Fortuitous Random Chance") we were saved from
starvation by the generosity of our neighbors-- see how wonderful
socialism can be!" nonsense which too many Americans have been misled
into imagining to be the truth.
In fact, the feast we commemorate on the fourth Thursday of
November had nothing whatsoever to do with "generosity". What we
actually commemorate on Thanksgiving is the Plymouth Rock colonists'
recognition of the evils of socialism and the goodness of Adam Smith's
"invisible hand" of profit-motivation unleashed by security in property
rights.
It was that 11th-hour epiphany after a disastrous
experiment with communitarian soulfulness that saved the colony from
starvation. Thanks be to God, indeed, for that merciful and timely grant
of wisdom.
IN VERY BRIEF SUMMARY, the Plymouth Rock colony began as a
commune, organized under the principle that the proceeds of every
individual's labors would be claimed of right by the community as a
whole, and then redistributed in equal measure to every member. This
system lasted for several years, during which the colony grew ever more
hungry and impoverished.
Unable to keep the fruit of their labors for themselves,
and with the unproductive receiving the same out of the communal
resources as those who worked hard, soon no one worked hard. To do so
was a fool's game.
The only competition un-smothered by the communitarian rule
was the race to the bottom in the avoidance of labor. Every year the
crops were thinner; every year the shares distributed to each colonist
were more meager.
Finally, in 1623 and on the verge of the colony's failure
(that is, the death of all the colonists), the feel-good socialist
lunacy was recognized as the deadly mental virus that it is. The ruinous
pretense that the community had a rightful claim on the food produced by
each member was abandoned, and the colonist's rights to their own
production was secured.
As it was recounted (in third-person format) in 1623 by
William Bradford, Governor of the Colony:
...so they began to think how they might raise as much
corn as they could, and obtain a better crop than they had done, that
they might not still thus languish in misery.
At length, after much debate of things, the Governor
(with the advice of the chiefest amongst them) gave way that they should
set corn every man for his own particular, and in that regard trust to
themselves; in all other things to go on in the general way as before.
And so assigned to every family a parcel of land, according to the
proportion of their number, for that end, only for present use (but made
no division for inheritance) and ranged all boys and youth under some
family.
This had very good success, for it made all hands very
industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have
been by any means the Governor or any other could use, and saved him a
great deal of trouble, and gave far better content. The women now went
willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to set
corn; which before would allege weakness and inability; whom to have
compelled would have been thought great tyranny and oppression.
Thus, the deadly madness of socialism was replaced with a
pragmatic expression of two natural laws: 1. no person (and no group of
persons, acting under whatever title or label or pretense it may) can
rightfully dictate the disposal of the product of another's labor; and
2. no society can violate a natural law without suffering the harmful
consequences. It was only then that the colony had its first bountiful
harvest, for which the members properly gave thanks.
IT IS THE BENEFICIAL CONSEQUENCE of the Plymouth Rock
Colony's epiphany concerning the destructive follies of socialism and
the rewarding virtues of natural law that we have celebrated on
Thanksgiving over the years. Here is William Bradford again, expressing
the lesson taken by these ancestors of the American revolutionaries of a
century-and-a-half hence:
The experience that was had in this common course and
condition, tried sundry years and that amongst godly and sober men, may
well evince the vanity of that conceit of Plato's and other ancients
applauded by some of later times; that the taking away of property and
bringing in community into a commonwealth would make them happy and
flourishing; as if they were wiser than God.
Needless to say, the experience of the Plymouth Rock Colony
was firmly in the American memory at the time that our founding
principles were spelled out. It is unsurprising that the colonists'
hard-won wisdom deeply informs the Declaration of Independence, the
principles enshrined in which are declared to be the Laws of Nature and
of Nature's God.
THE VIRTUOUS LESSONS LEARNED by the Plymouth Rock Colony's
near-disastrous experiment with a fancied and prideful "alternative" to
the basic reality of natural law is well-worth the giving of thanks. So
is the wisdom of our Founders in taking those lessons to heart and
hardwiring them into our American legal structure.
With these things firmly in mind as the real reasons for
celebration, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope that it finds
you all well, and leaves you all comfortably stuffed with the good food
and good cheer for which this holiday is casually and warmly known.
But I also hope that you all dwell for a few minutes on the
more sober aspects of this commemoration. I especially hope you see to
it that your children understand the truth (rather than the warm fuzzy
fictions that they have been taught in their government schools and
through the mindless popular culture).
The real lessons of Thanksgiving are very important
lessons. Our societal well-being depends on those lessons remaining
embedded in our American consciousness and institutions.
It has been famously and wisely observed that those who
allow themselves to be ignorant of history lessons are doomed to repeat
them, and we don't want our children or grandchildren to have to repeat
this one. The good Lord might not be so forgiving of their arrogance the
second time around.
***
P.S. THIS THANKSGIVING,
especially, have as many of your friends and family with you as
possible. Hug them all fiercely and kiss everyone you love. Crowd
closely around a groaning table and make it a real feast.
Don't spoil the occasion by harboring anger at those who
would steal such joyful times from you with grotesque "social
distancing" directives and the like. Content yourself with a
rousing chant of "Let's go, Brandon!" to start things off, and then put
aside anger and scorn and relish every bite and every
conversation you enjoy while living your life according to your own
values.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected this year should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], over the last several months you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI

Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the

The First "Climate Change" Diagnosis Is Here. It
Will Not Be The Last
A doctor in British Columbia has taken an unprecedented
step, and actually diagnosed an elderly patient as “suffering from
climate change”. But why? And what does that mean for the future?
by Kit Knightly
Doctor Kyle Merritt, an attending physician at an
emergency department in Nelson BC, added “climate change” as a contributing
factor to the medical issues of one of his patients. And, in so doing, has
achieved a
remarkable and troubling world first.
The first-ever medical diagnosis of “climate
change”.
Dr Merritt said in an interview with Glacier
Media:
"If we’re not looking at the underlying cause,
and we’re just treating the symptoms, we’re just gonna keep falling
further and further behind,” the emergency room doctor told Glacier
Media. […] It’s me trying to just… process what I’m seeing.”
The entire situation raises some interesting
questions.
Does it make medical sense?
Of course it doesn’t.
He diagnosed her as “suffering from climate
change”. You can’t do that, it is insane.
That’s like diagnosing someone who was struck
by lightning as “suffering from the effects of rain” or a person having
a heart attack as “suffering from the effects of Mcdonald’s”.
…actually, it’s worse than that. At least my
examples have a distinct cause-and-effect relationship, and there are no
scientific papers suggesting Mcdonald’s doesn’t actually exist.
The patient in question is over 70, asthmatic,
diabetic and suffering from heart failure. She’s very, very sick…no
matter the climate.
Even if Dr Merritt can somehow trace a decline
in her health due to the weather (and there’s no evidence at all that he
can), actually diagnosing it is completely bonkers.
…so why do it?
It’s a staged PR move. A very obvious one, when
you think about it.
For one thing, there’s the question of how the
media ever found out it happened, since medical records and diagnoses
are completely private.
Clearly Dr Merritt didn’t just diagnose his
patient with “climate change”, he then immediately called up the local
media to tell them he had done it.
Throw in the fact that this happened to occur
during the COP26 conference in Glasgow, which only today warned of “climate-linked
health risks” rising, and that the move has already spawned a new
NGO, “Doctors and Nurses for Planetary Health”, and you have a textbook
example of a stage-managed media rollout.
Why now?
In simple terms, because Covid worked and
climate didn’t.
They have been stoking up public fear of “a new
ice age” and acid rain and the hole in the ozone layer and myriad other
supposedly incipient climate disasters for literal decades, and never
touched one-tenth of the level of hysteria created by the Covid19
“pandemic”.
Somewhere, some not especially bright public
relations executive has decided that the way to push the
“pivot from Covid to climate” is to try and turn the long-predicted
environmental disaster into a public health issue.
It’s hamfisted, a little funny, and probably
won’t work, but it does open up some troubling possibilities going
forward.
THERE'S A GRIM OBSERVATION AND WARNING by the always-insightful and
clear-eyed Edmund Burke of which I have made much use over the last year or so,
as the true character of the "pandemic" and the measures ostensibly taken (or
imposed) against its much-overhyped ravages has come into focus:
"There is no safety for honest men but by believing all
possible evil of evil men."
Kit Knightly has done a fine job of alerting us all to yet
another assault upon right and reason being rolled out of the darkness
and sketching out its likely trajectory. Those amongst the ranks of the
honest who are also wise will take heed and immediately commence the
rebuttal and derisive denunciation of this latest
hobgoblin to be ushered onto the stage in service to the oligarchic
ambitions of evil men.
But denunciation is not enough. Action is needed if the
honest and rights-respecting community is to retain (or regain) its
freedoms in an era in which the machinery of the state has been
thoroughly captured by that community's enemies.
AMERICANS WHO TREASURE INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY need to
face the uncomfortable fact that only the dramatic diminishment of the
power and footprint of government-- the chief tool of subjugation used
by those with designs upon the rest of us-- can avail us now. Nothing
else will do.
Unfortunately, while remediation efforts undertaken in the
political arena and in the courts are virtuous, and merit our
enthusiastic support and participation... they will fail. All such
efforts will look to the existing political and legal structure for
their implementation. In the current climate, in which the established
structures are so heavily compromised and corrupted, such reliance is
more a naive hope than a certainty.
Our efforts must focus on striking at the taproot of the
problem.
HAPPILY, THE FOUNDERS AND FRAMERS prepared against this precise
need, knowing that all governments inevitably lurch toward the accretion
of power unto themselves and the corruption which accompanies all
accretions of state power. They put into place a solution ready to the
hand of individual Americans, entirely bypassing all supervision or
approval of the state.
The only requirements to implement that solution are eyes
with which to see the problem, reasoning with which to recognize the
truth and rightness of the solution, and courage, confidence and clarity
of mind enough to pull the trigger in the face of the natural and
predictable effort of the targeted rogue state to discourage doing so.

EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (sixteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...
(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is

Nothing gets done without a reason, and when something appears inexplicable,

November 23- In 1876, corrupt Tammany

reached shortly before the crash of 1929. In 1963, Doctor Who hits the airwaves
for the first time. In 1981, Ronald Reagan authorizes the CIA to recruit, equip
and train "Contra" rebels in Nicaragua. In 2011, the president of Yemen agrees
to resign in exchange for legal immunity for past crimes. In 2015, Blue

South Vietnam both militarily and economically. In 1971, D. B. Cooper

fact that Turkey is a member of NATO) averted thermonuclear destruction of the

aggregate, over that decade. In 1950, the People's Republic of China commits
troops to the Korean War on the side of the North Koreans. In 1952, Agatha
Christie's "The Mousetrap" opens at the Ambassadors Theatre in London. It goes
on to become the longest-running play in history. In 1986, Edwin Meese
announces that money from arms sales to Iran were illegally diverted to the

energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,

Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan

He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and

administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small

years.
