HEY, People! Please don't just
read what I post here (or anywhere), and nod your head sagely or
approvingly and then move on to other things. I don't post in order
to affirm your sense of things. I post in order to equip you with
perspectives and arguments with which to
educate others, and in the
expectation that you will forward my posts to other people (or
direct them to those posts). PLEASE do those things.
We won't win by YOU knowing what I
present. We will win by LOTS OF OTHERS knowing what I present.
So,
Here We Are At "Resolution Day"...
A semi-annual "wake-up" call for today's real American men and
women (along with the celebration of some of those good folks). You
may have seen this before, but no matter. Read it again. It's that
important.
RESOLUTION DAY.
That is,
"NO MORE PARALYSIS Day"
"NO MORE DENIAL Day"
"NO MORE, "I DON'T DARE..." Day"
"NO MORE, "THE BAD MEN WILL NOTICE
ME SO I'D BETTER NOT!" Day"
"NO MORE, "I'LL WAIT FOR SOMEONE
ELSE TO GO FIRST..." Day"
In short, here we are at,
"GET OFF YOUR ASS Day"
"GET LOUD AND PROUD AND UN-COWED
Day"
I'm talking about,
"DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU'VE GOT LIBERTY
AND THE RULE OF LAW Day"
"FACE THE FACTS Day"
"NO TIME TO RELAX Day"...
MORE THAN ANYTHING, here we are at "PUT
ASIDE DELUSIONS Day" That's what the original
"Resolution day" was all about. It was the day the
American colonists finally acknowledged that the
people they had been entreating to respect their
rights actually didn't want them to have
their rights.
It was the day the American colonists
finally acknowledged that the government operatives
they had been petitioning and politicking and
lobbying and arguing with weren't misled or mistaken
or suffering from misunderstanding, needing only to
have things explained a bit better, or argued a bit
more authoritatively. Instead, as the colonists
realized and finally admitted by way of the
Declaration of Independence, those operatives were their
competitors. Those operatives were the
colonists' opponents. Efforts to persuade
them were pointless-- they admitted to no limits on
their power and had no interest in curbing its
abuse, which was being practiced for their
benefit.
IT WAS HARD for the colonists to reach
that epiphany about their government. Because states
exercise power (and partly also because they
maintain an elaborate apologia dedicated to
justifying that exercise as being for the good of
the citizenry, or at least the way things must or
are supposed to be), they come to be viewed as
virtual parents in the hind-brains of those subject
to that power. It is very hard for people to
recognize and acknowledge that actual Mom and Dad
are bad people. It is nearly as hard for people to
recognize that the state under the influence of
which they have been raised is corrupt and
malicious.
But of course, sometimes Mom and Dad
are indeed bad, and states usually are. And while
Mom and Dad can and often do become remorseful, and
proceed to reform and redemption, states are
institutionally-incapable of remorse. The only
remedy against a bad state is taking away its power.
Eventually, after wasting all that time and effort
on petitioning, politicking, lobbying and arguing,
the American colonists admitted this truth on
their Resolution Day and said, "No more talking-- it's
time for walking!"
Bless them for abandoning their
child-like view of the state and becoming grown-ups
at last.
IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN if we modern
Americans are equally deserving of blessings. We
should be up to the task; after all, we have a much
easier row to hoe than the colonists did.
While we, too, must adopt a grown-up
understanding of the true character of the dangerous
servant against which we have been wisely warned,
our state is already bound down by the written law,
thanks to the blood and sacrifices of our ancestors.
All we have to do is recognize that the state is
constantly struggling to escape any limitations
placed upon it by that law, and to suppress and
marginalize anyone revealing its bad behavior and
anything showing how it can be put back into its
chains.
Particularly, we have to recognize that
the biggest and most important limitation put upon
the state concerns its ability to take resources
from individual citizens for its own use. It's this
simple-- the one who controls the disposition of
property is the one in charge.
Because it is so important, for decades
the United States has been engaged in the
cultivation and exploitation of myths about what
limitations are placed upon it in regard to resource
acquisition. Sadly, for most of those decades most
Americans have fallen for the fictions.
Chief among these state-serving,
people-harming myths is the truly absurd proposition
that our grandparents amended the Constitution in
1913 to authorize the state's exploitation of their
resources at its will, in defiance and rejection of
the previous tax-limiting Constitutional rules under
which the American people had become the freest and
most prosperous in the history of the world.
THIS IS A MYTH! It never
happened, and even the premier organs of the state
itself have said so endlessly-- but quietly, so as
to preserve the on-the-books harmony of the law
while allowing the state (and its clients and
cronies) to ruthlessly exploit anyone who doesn't
know to look and remains in ignorance.
See the proof that this is a myth at
losthorizons.com/The16th.htm. Read the 1916
Cornell and Harvard Law Review articles on the
Supreme Court's unanimous conclusions about the
Sixteenth Amendment. See what Department of Treasury
experts admit about the income tax. See what the
Supreme Court continues to say about the amendment
and the tax over the decades. Learn the real history
of the tax and its antecedents.
Then go
here and see how the state has been struggling
to keep you from knowing any of this.
After you take these enlightening
little excursions, recognize that every single
person or institution that would lose prestige,
power or profits by acknowledging the truth about
the tax can be expected to lie about the subject if
queried, as will every interest that sees itself
benefitting from the existence of a mammoth state
(which might even include those who make their
living complaining about the mammoth state, or the
supposed evils of the income tax). Every one of
these are today's equivalents of the invested
promoters and defenders of the "divine right of
kings" myth that kept people enthralled and
exploited in the colonists' time.
But also recognize that now knowing the
truth, the power is in your hands. The
responsibility is, too.
Rise to deserve the blessings of
liberty.
Make this year's "Resolution Day" real
by making it a personalDeclaration Day-- a
day on which you resolve to act relentlessly on behalf of liberty and
the rule of law, and to hound everyone you can reach
into doing the same.

I'M VERY PLEASED TO CLOSE THIS POST
with celebrations of a few more good Americans who
have made their resolutions and have risen to
deserve the blessing bequeathed to them by the blood
and brilliance of this country's Founding
generation:
Cade Huff
CADE HAS RECENTLY SHARED his first two
victories in standing on behalf of the rule of law--
the complete recovery of everything taken from him
during 2019 as "income" taxes and given over to
Colorado and to the United States, when in fact,
none of his economic activities qualified as subject
to the tax.
Here is Cade's federal refund, with
interest due to the delay occasioned by the IRS's
insistence on closely scrutinizing Cade's return,
as declared
in this notice:
BOB ALSO JUST SECURED A DELAYED FEDERAL
REFUND-- this one for 2020-- with appropriate
interest added just because the IRS dawdled for six
months or so before returning Bob's money:
GEORGE HAS SECURED A NICE VICTORY over
an understandable but mistaken claim by New York of
a tax liability for 2017 of more than $67,000:
George had neglected to file anything
with the state concerning 2017, He had assumed that
the agreement by the IRS that he had no "income"
that year would automatically be communicated to the
state and would preclude any state notions on the
subject (an
error discussed here).
After being alerted to his mistake by
the notice excerpted above and making a phone call
to discuss the matter with folks at the NYDTF,
George furnished the state agency with
a
copy of his federal return and transcript
demonstrating no taxable activity or tax liability
for 2017 (despite the over $500,000 of earnings that
year to which New York had been alerted by way of
typically ill-informed "information returns" created
by payers, and on which the state had based its
$67,000+ claim). New York promptly dropped its claim
and closed the matter:

SO, HATS OFF TO THESE NEWEST AMERICAN
RESOLUTIONARY HEROES! Their great victories join
those of the tens of thousands of other awakened and
activated Americans represented
here. Each constitutes another critical step
toward the restoration of
the Founders republic and the true rule of law.
Don't you wish your victories were
proudly posted, too?
A Recap Of The Recent Past And A Prescription
For The Future
It's time to get serious; it's time to get angry.
SO, A BIT MORE THAN TWO YEARS AGO, a virus cultivated and
enhanced by Anthony Fauci and his associates, first in North Carolina
(and possibly at Ft. Detrick, Maryland,
which was shut down in great haste for non-credible reasons in the
summer of 2019) and then at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, was
introduced into the world. Whether that introduction was by design or by reckless accident
remains unclear.
Regardless of the how or why of its
release into circulation, the virus-- known by the
shorthand label "C19" on these pages-- promptly
began delivering benefits to certain special
interests.
Certain business interests invested in
the technology of on-line interfacing and online
retail enjoyed ballooning profits. At the same time,
these beneficiary interests watched large portions
of their brick-and-mortar competitors go under.
Most notably, perhaps (or most
significantly for the as-yet-unrealized long-haul,
anyway), snake-oil salesmen with very possibly a
larger agenda than mere immediate profits found huge
markets with the newly-emergent authoritarian
governments for expensive concoctions peddled as
"vaccines" against the virus.
And yet the creators of this snake-oil
(which include persons in both government office and
the American oligarchy) have been paid many
$billions for these fraudulent products, while
enjoying endlessly-repeated endorsement and support
by supposed public-interest institutions like the
CDC, the FDA and the NIH.
Since the beginning of last year those
whose capture of the levers of national power by
exploitation of the "dread virus" fraud have done
their best to gut the rule of law, drain away
American wealth, impose a false national historical
narrative, put our cities into chaos and turn
Americans against one another with lies.
IT'S TIME TO STOP CARING what the CDC says, or the FDA, or
the NIH, or corresponding state agencies. Even while proving themselves
incompetent at best (if not outright complicit in
the crimes outlined above), these bureaucracies have striven to position themselves as the
arbiters of truth and wisdom concerning issues of health, both public
and private. They have even presumed to assert coercive authority in these areas.
But
no one is entitled to such coercive authority, and
no
executive agency has been properly
delegated such authority. Even had these ambitious institutions not shown
themselves to be completely irresponsible when pretending to that
authority, their pretenses would still just be invitations to public
credulity.
It's time for Americans to wake up and
grow up, and begin thinking and acting in the spirit
of James Madison's wise observation:
"It is proper to take alarm at the
first experiment on our liberties. We hold this
prudent jealousy to be the first duty of Citizens
and one of the noblest characteristics of the late
Revolution. The free men of America did not wait
till usurped power had strengthened itself by
exercise and entangled the question in precedents.
They saw all the consequences in the principle, and
they avoided the consequences by denying the
principle."
It's time to reflect on the
unprecedented ruination that has been visited upon
America by enemies within, such as could never have
been accomplished by invaders from without. It's
time to say "NO MORE!"
AS SHOWN BY POLL NUMBERS for the Biden
administration, spontaneous and universally-voiced
chants of "F*ck Joe Biden"-- now occasionally
interspersed with the alternative version, "Let's
go, Brandon!"--
in venues across the country, the
sustained eruption of protestors against abusive and
arrogant school-boards and the outcome of elections
this past November, huge numbers of Americans are
primed to join with whoever rises and puts a foot
down, hard.
Huge numbers of Americans are coming to
understand that failing to say "NO!" is the only
thing empowering the enemies within who continue to
force life-threatening drugs on unwilling victims,
to erode the rule of law, to shepherd our major
cities into anarchy and to embrace and impose
censorship and suppression of dissenting voices. All
that is needed to bring push to cleansing shove are
catalysts.
This doesn't mean violence. Violence in
defense of one's rights is never wrong, of course,
but it should be a last resort only, and only when
it becomes clear that peaceful methods are
unavailing. But when was the last time that you
dressed down your local TV news outlet (or
newspaper, if you still have one) for its constant
drumbeating on the "dread virus" bs?
When was the last time you informed any
local business still (or once again) hectoring
customers to wear masks or demanding "vaccine"
papers that if they don't cease and desist-- and
soon-- they will lose your custom, permanently?
Looking more broadly, when did you last
contact your congress-critters and demand that they
stop draining wealth out of America with
deficit-"financed" domestic giveaways? When have you
last protested mindless-- or worse, deliberate--
accession by Congress to war-mongering by the
military-industrial complex and absurd and
destructive pretenses that anything that happens
anywhere in the world is the business, and subject
to the hegemony, of the United States?
Statements and protests like these are
the necessary first steps toward redress of our
righteous grievances. Another wise man in our rich
history often celebrated on these pages said it
well, and should be heeded:
"Those who
profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate
agitation, are people who want crops without
ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder
and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar
of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one,
or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But
it must be a struggle.
Power concedes
nothing without a demand. It never did and it never
will. Find out just what any people will quietly
submit to and you have the exact measure of the
injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them,
and these will continue till they have been resisted
with either words or blows, or with both. The limits
of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those
whom they suppress."
-Frederick Douglass

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected this year should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], over the last several months you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the
citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to
keep the Government from falling into error."
-United States Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson
(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.
"Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be
strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be
highly rated."

The Malicious, Historically Illiterate 1619
Project Keeps Rolling On
by George Will
The New York Times is like God, who, if Genesis
reported Creation correctly, beheld His handiwork and
decided “it was very good.”
The Times is comparably pleased with itself concerning its creation, “The 1619
Project.”
This began in August 2019 as a
special edition of the paper’s Sunday magazine. Now it has become
a book by which the Times continues attempting to “reframe”
U.S. history. In the Times, an advertisement for the Times’s book
describes it as “a dramatic expansion of a groundbreaking work of
journalism.” That description damages journalism’s reputation for
respecting facts, which the 2019 writing that begot this book
did not do. The 1619 Project’s tendentiousness reeks of political
purpose.
The Times’s original splashy assertion –
slightly
fudged after the splash garnered a
Pulitzer Prize – was that the American Revolution, the most
important event in our history, was shameful because a primary reason it
was fought was to preserve slavery. The war was supposedly ignited by a
November 1775 British
offer of freedom to Blacks who fled slavery and joined British
forces. Well.
That offer came after increasingly volcanic
American reactions to various British provocations: After the
1765 Stamp Act. After the
1770 Boston Massacre. After the
1773 Boston Tea Party. After the
1774 Coercive Acts (including closure of Boston’s port) and other
events of “The Long Year of Revolution” (the subtitle of Mary Beth
Norton’s “1774”).
And after, in 1775, the April 19
battles of Lexington and Concord, the June 17 battle of
Bunker Hill and George Washington on July 3
assuming command of the Continental Army.
Writing history is not like doing physics. But
event A cannot have caused event B if B began before A.
Addressing the American Council of Trustees and
Alumni
last month,
Gordon S. Wood, today’s foremost scholar of America’s Founding,
dissected the 1619 Project’s contentions. When the Revolution erupted,
Britain “was not threatening to abolish slavery in its empire,” which
included lucrative, slavery-dependent sugar-producing colonies in the
Caribbean. Wood added:
“If the Virginian slaveholders had been
frightened of British abolitionism, why only eight years after the war
ended would the board of visitors or the trustees of the College of
William & Mary, wealthy slaveholders all, award an honorary degree to
Granville Sharp, the leading British abolitionist at the time? Had they
changed their minds so quickly? ... The New York Times has no accurate
knowledge of Virginia’s Revolutionary culture and cannot begin to answer
these questions.” The Times’s political agenda requires ignoring what
Wood knows:
“It was the American colonists who were
interested in abolitionism in 1776. ... Not only were the northern
states the first slaveholding governments in the world to abolish
slavery, but the United States became the first nation in the world to
begin actively suppressing the despicable international slave trade. The
New York Times has the history completely backwards.”
Wood’s doctoral dissertation adviser in 1960 to
1964 was Bernard Bailyn, the title of whose best-known
book, “The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution,” conveys
a refutation of the 1619 Project’s premise that the Revolution
originated from base economic motives. When Bailyn died a year after the
1619 Project was launched, the Times’s
obituary noted that he had challenged the “Progressive Era
historians ... who saw the founders’ revolutionary rhetoric as a mask
for economic interests.” Actually, the rhetoric gave momentum to ideas
that were the Revolution.
The 1619 Project, which
might already be
embedded in school curricula near you,
reinforces the racial monomania of those
progressives who argue that the nation was founded
on, and remains saturated by, “systemic racism.”
This racial obsession is instrumental; it serves a
radical agenda that sweeps beyond racial matters. It
is the agenda of clearing away all impediments,
intellectual and institutional, to — in
progressivism’s vocabulary — the “transformation” of
the nation. The United States will be built back
better when it has been instructed to be ashamed of
itself and is eager to discard its disreputable
heritage.
"There is no safety for honest men but by believing all
possible evil of evil men."
-Edmund Burke
I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN of George Will's work. Although he
can come across as a bit arch-- even supercilious-- he is witty, and
takes pride in the concision that is, as it is said, the soul of wit.
Will also generally knows of what he
speaks. He is intelligent and widely educated, and
is the sort of pundit who does the necessary
homework.
Further, when I first encountered him
and formed my initial opinion, Will was a solid
paleoconservative. Some progressive drift has taken
place over recent decades, but I still read every
column I encounter. Now and again, despite the drift
and the dampening effect of the Washington Post's
general descent into darkness, Will uses his very
bully pulpit virtuously. He has definitely done so
with this piece on the noxious "1619 Project".
THERE IS LITTLE that need be said about
Will's commentary directly. His points thoroughly
debunk the foundational premise of the "project",
and should simply be repeated by everyone everywhere
and at every opportunity until the "project" and all
its boosters and exploiters have slunk off in shame,
never to be heard from again.
What DOES bear saying is that the false
history on which the "1619 Project" is based taints
many other expressions and assertions in modern
discourse. All such tainted expressions serve to
nourish hostility toward America and its actual
founding principles-- the honoring and safekeeping
of which are of enormous importance to the cause of
liberty and the rule of law. All must be diligently
rebutted and denounced.
For example, in the Sunday, December 26
Detroit Free Press (and probably many other
outlets), an AP piece ran titled, "Wreck of last US
slave ship mostly intact off Alabama coast". The
piece displays its casual and corrosive disregard
for factual accuracy in the very title-- there were
no US slave ships. Rather, there were private
slave ships, which happened to be owned or operated
by citizens of various colonies/states.
It gets much worse: in the very first
paragraph is a reference to "the pen that was used
to imprison African captives" on the ship, and in
the second, we find, "...the section below deck
where the captured Africans and stockpiles were
held..." The plain implication of this language is
that those being transported had been hunted
down in Africa by the ship's crew and taken
prisoner.
In fact, Africans transported to
American shores (and other places) as slaves had
already been captured and enslaved by other Africans
beforehand as a part of practices and dynamics among
people on that continent which long pre-dated 1619.
Those who were sold to slave ship operators were
already in their miserable circumstances, and would
have become so and remained so whether the ships
ever came or not.
(See
this excerpt of the 1962 edition of Encyclopedia
Britannica, from, 'First European Trade and Its
Effect' through the end of the second paragraph of
'European Government Intervention,' forgiving the
copying quality, please-- the volume just wouldn't
lay flat in my scanner... The encyclopedia's article
on Dahomey, the chief purveyor of slaves to the
European traders, can be found
here.)
At first glance the prior status of
those carried on the slave ships might seem a quibble, but
it is not. That those who became black slaves in
America were first enslaved by
other blacks is made very significant by the false
narrative of "systemic, if not inherent, white
racism" the "1619 Project" means to promote-- a
false narrative which very much needs to be
contradicted and evicted from the national dialogue
by actual facts.
OF SIMILAR SIGNIFICANCE and need for
wider airing is the fact that
many
black slaves in America were owned by other blacks--
a fact which not only rebuts the "systemic white
racism" as asserted by the "1619 Project", but also helps underscore the larger important fact
that slavery was a nearly universal institution
practiced in all places and at all times by all
people of all colors and cultures until Americans--
overwhelmingly white Americans, and at the expense
of huge numbers of fatalities within their ranks-- acted to abolish
the institution.
(While the War Between the States
actually began as a tax enforcement action by the
Lincoln administration in response to Southern
resistance to the grossly-imbalanced tariff
structure in place at the time, by which
agricultural Southern states were forced to
subsidize industrialized Northern states, the
abolition concept was increasingly deployed
throughout the war for the purpose of maintaining
support in the North. Certainly, many of the
Northern casualties could properly be said to have
been suffered as an accepted cost of ending slavery
in America. See more rebuttal to the "systemic white
racism" lie
here.)
THE POINT, OVERALL, IS THAT the "1619
Project" and every hoary race-hustlers' historical
fraud of which it is the latest and greatest example
are just that-- frauds, meant to line certain
pockets and fuel the destruction of the American
Experiment in individual liberty and
the real rule of law. All should be denounced in
the strongest of terms.
Further, at risk (as always) of tediously repeating myself,
the optimal (and only real) solution to the core problem, which is the
ability of the fraudsters to gain control or influence over a
centralized state that can be used to impose false narratives and worse
on everyone else, is to shrink the Leviathan state. That is,
Americans who treasure their heritage need to
face the uncomfortable fact that only the dramatic diminishment of the
power and footprint of government-- the chief tool of abuse available to those with designs upon the rest of us-- can afford
us true security. Nothing
else will do.
Unfortunately, while remediation efforts undertaken in the
political arena and in the courts are virtuous, and merit our
enthusiastic support and participation... they will fail. All such
efforts will look to the existing political and legal structure for
their implementation. In the current climate, in which the established
structures are so heavily compromised and corrupted, such reliance is
more a naive hope than a certainty.
Our efforts must focus on striking at the taproot of the
problem.
HAPPILY, THE FOUNDERS AND FRAMERS prepared against this precise
need, knowing that all governments inevitably lurch toward the accretion
of power unto themselves and the corruption which accompanies all
accretions of state power. They put into place a solution ready to the
hand of individual Americans, entirely bypassing all supervision or
approval of the state.
The only requirements to implement that solution are eyes
with which to see the problem, reasoning with which to recognize the
truth and rightness of the solution, and courage, confidence and clarity
of mind enough to pull the trigger in the face of the natural and
predictable effort of the targeted rogue state to discourage doing so.

Then help others do so, as well.
EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (sixteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
January 6- In 1553, Francisco Pizarro founds Lima, Peru. In
1838, Samuel Morse successfully tests his 'telegraph'. In 1907, Maria
Montessori opens her first school in Rome. In 1912, New Mexico is admitted to
the union as the 47th of the several states. In 1929, Mother Teresa arrives in
Calcutta. In 1936, the U.S. Supreme Court rules that Roosevelt's 'New Deal'
Agriculture Adjustment Act is unconstitutional. In 2021, several hundred
attendees at a rally held by President Donald Trump are encouraged by thus-far
unidentified agitators to enter the Capitol building-- with the cooperation of
the Capitol Police-- in protest over widespread election fraud in the November
elections. Some minor vandalism was committed, and one of the protestors,
unarmed Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, was shot dead by a Capitol Police
officer once inside without warning and while presenting no threat. Four other
protestors died outside the building of natural causes or, in one case, of being
crushed by a panicked crown fleeing a gas attack by the police.
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on

as a member of the International Society for Individual

Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
