SO, LET'S START THIS NEWSLETTER OUT with a few recent victories on behalf of the rule of law before we move on to comments and observations about some of the many things on the darker side of the ledger...

Bruce & Andrea Comeau

BRUCE & ANDREA share their debut victory as members of this CtC community-- a partial refund of everything withheld and given over to the feds as "income" tax during 2021:

This refund was accompanied by a complete acknowledgement of no "income" received and no tax owed, even while the IRS simply lies about the total amount withheld (as will be seen by a quick look at Bruce & Andrea's return) in an example of the law-defying ploy discussed here:

This refund and admission was secured only after some special attention showing that the tax agency went over Bruce & Andrea's return with a fine-toothed comb. This special attention included an LTR2645C in May of 2022; an LTR86C in July of 2022; and an LTR12C in September of 2022, to the last of which Bruce & Andrea responded with this in October of 2022, eventually resulting in the refund shown above in April of 2023.

Since then, Bruce & Andrea have fired off this solid reply to the CP12 excerpted above (in which the improprieties of the partial refund are very well laid out), and we will await their being made whole (or going to court, if necessary).

MEANTIME, BRUCE & ANDREA secured their second victory-- another partial refund of exactly the same sort:

...this time with interest included, in response to the filing of this return. Again, Bruce & Andrea were treated to an LTR12C (to which they responded with a copies of that form and the 4852s included in their return); after receiving the partial refund, they fired off another solid demand for the rest of their property.

Neil Streber

NEIL SHARES a recent victory in recovering everything demanded by way of his educated federal tax return of what had been withheld from him during 2020 (which totaled $3,613.47, part of which was diverted to old balances owed, as shown here), plus interest:

For reasons of his own, Neil did not claim back amounts withheld under the Chapter 21 rules as FICA taxes, even though in returning all the Chapter 24 withholdings, Uncle Sam has admitted that Neil owed no FICA taxes, either (see this-- including the footnotes-- for more on that). Still...

A Few More SOTFPWTWGB Thoughts

...that is, continuing to sit-on-the-front-porch-and-watch-the-world-go-by thoughts, this time on "National Security" secrets and the JFK assassination; on using accurate language in public discourse (and refraining from reflexive, counter-productive virtue-signaling); on fixing the "Section 230" problem; and a little bit more.

On the JFK assassination and the secretive "National Security' state.

ON ONE OF HIS 'JUDGING FREEDOM' VIDEOS A FEW WEEKS AGO (all of which are generally excellent and highly recommended), Andrew Napolitano said that in the last days of the Trump administration he reminded Donald Trump of his promise (and his obligation under the law) to see that all the remaining Kennedy assassination records were released. Trump, Napolitano said, replied that if Napolitano knew what Trump had seen in those unreleased records, he wouldn't want them to see the light of day-- and then, of course, defied the law, broke his promise, and left the file hidden from public view.

This is outrageous. Frankly, even leaving aside all the other reasons why no one, not Trump or any other president, has any business withholding such information from the American public no matter what it is, the very idea that it is so horrendous or momentous as to prompt that kind of response simply adds to the necessity and importance of its release. The American people need and are entitled to know whose oxen are gored in such records and how, no matter the positions of those malefactors.

WHILE ON THE JFK SUBJECT, I WONDER IF, in addition to the uplifting example set by the Russian people in throwing off a well-hardened tyranny which some in the Washington blob doubtless find unwelcome, the endless, counter-productive and generally (if not profoundly) unfair demonization of Russia is not grounded in the fact that those who murdered John F. Kennedy in 1963 relied as their unspoken defensive rationalization the proposition that Kennedy was dangerously-- even traitorously-- de-escalating hostilities with the USSR (Russia) and had to be taken out for the good of America.

From that crime forward, it became very much in that assassination cabal's interest to nurture as widespread and reflexive an American public fear and animus toward Russia in order to keep a more rational and fact-based perspective from directing its sober attention toward that cabal and its own traitorous and deeply-criminal acts (one of which was doubtless the subsequent murder of Robert Kennedy-- see this and this).

(Btw, on the subject of Donald Trump and things he did and failed to do in office, I hope everyone understands that the deep state and the Democrats with which it colludes very much want Trump to win the Republican primary, knowing that he will be much easier to beat in the general election than an alternative, like, for instance, Ron DeSantis. In part this is because Trump has to take responsibility for the "COVID" assault on the economy and the rule of law (among much else) and cannot use that issue against his opponent, as someone like DeSantis can do.

Perhaps more importantly, Trump has been thoroughly tainted with allegations of bad behavior (some legitimate and some not). Also, the sense has been successfully cultivated that he is the "anyone but" candidate for many, many Americans, even many Republicans. Consequently, a declared outcome against him in a rigged or fraud-ridden election would be much more likely to be believed by a broad enough swath of Americans to go undisturbed than would an attempt to falsely declare a victory for the Biden regime (whoever ends up representing it in the contest) over someone like DeSantis.

In light of all this, it seems to me that poll numbers allegedly finding Trump to be so far in the lead in the Republican race as to be uncatchable at this point should be taken with a large dose of salt. Pollsters have biases just like anyone else, and can be corrupted, just like anyone else, and the American political landscape is so polarized at this point that everything on it should be viewed skeptically and through the lens of "Cui bono?".

Again, the deep state/Democrats (and the Republican establishment, in large part) WANT Trump to win the primary, so that the Democrat can win the general. Antennae up, people.)

Getting Our Condemnations Right

JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS a story made the rounds about a woman arrested in Britain for silently praying-- not on her knees, but while standing-- on the curb across the street from an abortion clinic (a closed clinic, by the way). See the video here.

Predictably, every pundit sharing the story treated it as an outrage based on characterizing the arrest as being simply for the act of praying. But simply praying is NOT what the woman was doing, and it is NOT why she was arrested. Getting these things right is critically important if the conservative (classical liberal) community wants to effectively fight back against the leftist totalitarianism represented by this arrest.

In fact, what the woman was doing was shaming the abortionists. Her silent, standing presence was a rebuke to the clinic and those who work there, and it is that-- not her silent inner thoughts-- that prompted the violence against her by the state enforcers of leftist control.

In this display, the leftist ascendant power seeks to nullify and subsume the competing power of society to set standards and enforce them through judgment, criticism and ostracization. Like the nuclear family and independent organized religions, societal power to modify unacceptable behavior by the pressure of shaming is a threat to the progressive state's claimed authority to determine all things right or wrong (and to enforce those determinations).

SIMILARLY, CONSERVATIVES MISSTATE and therefore fail to properly respond to accusations that their exposure or criticism of progressive behavior is dangerous-- if not outright violent. Conservatives respond to those accusations with scorn and an air of mystification, but this is simply due to being unable or unwilling to acknowledge and address what is really being said by their progressive accusers.

What is really being said by those accusers is that revealing to a wider audience the outrageous offenses of, for instance, LBGTQAI+ activist schoolteachers against the children entrusted to their care, or therapists and counselors and medical professionals who encourage, practice and facilitate "affirming" and often mutilative responses to what is always really just induced "gender dysphoria" will predictably incite angry and possibly violent reactions by those becoming aware of these outrageous offenses.

WHILE ON THE SUBJECT of LGBTQAI+-claimants and habitual (or encouraged) misstatement, those of us in the normal and healthy majority must stop using the expression "identifies as" when speaking of "trans" persons. The better expression is, "pretends to be", or, in the more extreme cases, "delusionally believes him- or herself to be".

Also, the non-lunatic, non-intimidated majority must stop pretending (overtly or by silent acceptance) that LGBTQAI+ status (in any of its several manifestations) is inherent and immutable, like race, sex or ethnicity. This is a plainly false notion promoted by that collection of self-indulgent or outright mentally-ill people in order to support anti-discrimination protections under the law to which they are no more entitled than are heroin addicts.

(It is worth pointing out at this juncture that in addition to a complete lack of evidence of any genetic underpinning for LGBTQAI+ dispositions, simple common sense, and the obvious implications of the sudden explosion of LGBTQAI+ pretenses in the West as grooming opportunities and efforts have become more widespread, the "gender-fluid" and "non-binary" subdivisions of the LGBTQAI+ alphabet-spaghetti crowd flatly refute the baked-in-the-cake "inherent and immutable" proposition... The absence of LGBTQAI+ claimants-- or despairing queer suicides in the face of alleged oppression-- as notable percentages of populations outside of the groomer-friendly West similarly disproves the absurd assertion.)

IN THE SAME VEIN, and having recently come across a commentary on the lack of a precise (or at least, reasonably functional) definition of "gender ideology" (see that commentary here), I would like to offer this simple solution:

Gender ideology is the belief that valid and accurate sexual presentation and categorization (gender "identity") is or can be unconstrained by biological facts (and that the rest of the world is morally obligated to play along with whatever "identity" pretense is chosen by the gender ideologue).

I think this is a good working definition, and that it helps limn the impropriety of according any stature to the assertions of gender ideologues concerning themselves or others. I also think it important to not confine the implications of that definition to just the "trans" or "non-binary" or "gender fluid" categories of gender ideologues. The definition is just as applicable to the "gay" categories as well.

After all, the "gay" pretense is that one's sexual proclivity is (supposedly, naturally) at odds with one's biological reality, just as a "trans" person's pretense is that one's sexual "identity is at odds. In both cases the delusion is that the adherent's true nature in the relevant regard is unconstrained by biological facts.

TO FINISH THIS CATEGORY, here's an image from a recent "pride" parade-- and one typical to many of such parades that polluted the American landscape last month (which I share at risk of nauseating the reader). This image of a child learning about men who play at beings dogs subordinated to the grotesque sexual whims of their homosexual "master" reveals the dark, rancid, psychopathic reality of "LBGTQAI+" ideology that should be imprinted in the mind of every legislator and every parent:

The corruption vividly on display here is but one example of the foulness attendant upon tolerance of the "gender ideology" infection in our society. Think about it the next time you are tempted to refrain from condemning this noxious scourge.

Here's another illuminating image:

The man on the left was just crowned "Miss Netherlands" and will go on to represent that shameful and degenerate, once admirable, country in this year's upcoming Miss Universe pageant. The woman on the right is the runner-up.

Plainly, the winner was not chosen due to being the most outstanding representative of Dutch femininity in the contest. Rather, the man was chosen in obeisance to "gender ideology" and in defiance of reality.

While not as startlingly and wrenchingly disquieting as the little girl being groomed into the normalization of intensely corrupt sexual depravity, this latter image is as significant in its own way, both for its representation of the assault on truth (and its implicit demand that everyone partake in that assault) typical of "trans" madness, but also for its inescapable indication that some authority-wielding entity imposed the indefensible selection on the judges of the Miss Netherlands contest.

This imposition indicates an agenda, and a party or cabal whose special-interest purposes are served by that agenda. The existence of such an agenda, and of such special-interest wielders of that kind of power, indicates in turn that a dangerous and deliberate assault is being made on those places in which the "trans ideology" infection is taking root.

We need to know the identities behind all this. I hope that someone with the investigative resources to do so exposes these enemies of Western Civilization.

Now, on to Russia...

I'VE BEEN SPEAKING OF SOUNDING THE WRONG NOTE and setting oneself up for inadequate or at least wobbly responses to progressive (and other) evils. Let me address another common example by urging every commenter on the Ukraine madness to end the reflexive and always contemptible practice of starting out with a slur against Vladimir Putin or Russia in general before going on with "Even still, Ukraine is not without fault, and the US should not..." (or words to that effect). Why throw that meaty and nourishing bone to the opposition against whose policies you are intending to speak? Fear of drawing the ire of the borg?

First of all, such slurs are largely misinformed. Putin is no saint, but neither is he a great villain-- by the standards of people in offices such as his in every country, including our own. As someone who has NOT been aggressively throwing his weight around the world, as he could have been doing (and as the US has been doing endlessly and at great cost in lives for decades) and who enjoys huge popularity with his own population, it could be said that Putin is a cut above the norm, and any effort to say otherwise demands some evidence and defensible argument, not mere reflexive slurs from the US State Department talking-points bulletin.

Second, the habit of white-washing US misbehavior, which is the point of throwing aspersions at those officially-designated as the villain in any conflict, is not only childish but is counter-productive. If the US merits criticism, just level it squarely. Belay that adolescent, "My country, right or wrong" nonsense.

To do otherwise, by making the matter "comparative", is to say in the subtext, "...but I don't really mean it..." At best, it is a "two-steps forward, one step back" kind of mealy-mouthing. A truly virtuous country doesn't need that kind of insipid defense, and a non-virtuous one doesn't deserve it.

So, speak plainly, set high standards and expectations, and level charges where and when they are merited, without fear. Doing so will show respect for America and for yourself; doing less is contemptuous and contemptible (and often an exhibition of debilitating ignorance).

Section 230

A FEW YEARS AGO I WROTE A BIT ABOUT Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act-- that's the section by which social media companies are indemnified against liability for content posted by users. You can see that earlier piece here, but the gist is that section 230's explicit language does not provide for indemnification while simultaneously allowing for censorship (not mere "restriction", as in age-limiting, but outright censorship), and that the section's indemnification benefits should be deemed waived (or inapplicable) when providers elect to enjoy the particular benefits of publishers by picking and choosing what content they will host.

The section is on my mind again after hearing that a podcast by Jordan Peterson interviewing Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was recently removed from YouTube, purportedly due to a violation of policy through conversation about the Covid vaccine. In response I want to expand on my earlier thoughts with the further notion that because the social media providers enjoy statutory indemnification (whatever its implications for censorship authority), that special privilege confers upon those providers the characteristics of at least government-sponsored entities, if not quasi-governmental entities, and therefore makes them properly subject to the prohibitions of the First Amendment of the US Constitution (and all others).

I realize that this proposition will seem a bit creative, legally, and it will seem a big ask against the status quo, in that the logical extension of the principle will encompass many, many businesses and industries. But I think that the principle is sound. Any company or industry enjoying publically-provided special benefits is, on its face, serving public purposes through the exercise or enjoyment of public power, and is therefore and in that regard an organ of the state.

Further, that government may not resort to private actors to do what it is prohibited from doing itself (such as censoring speech) is already well established and uncontroversial. While such resort is traditionally seen as an exercise of coercion, it is just as pernicious if the resort is by way of empowering private entities which share or are expected to share governmental views or preferences to engage in the prohibited conduct on their own steam.

I believe that at this time we have a US Supreme Court which will agree with this argument, recognizing the harm being done to the "town square" and to the health of American political discourse by the censorship regimes currently imposed by social media platform providers. This is especially likely in light of the recently-revealed and overwhelming evidence of direct governmental exploitation of providers' thus far unchecked power to censor, as shown in the Twitter files and elsewhere, and which just last week led a federal judge to enjoin government agencies from contacting such providers.

I encourage Jordan Peterson and/or RFK, Jr. to lawyer-up and sue, deploying all the above-made points. I think such a suit will have a good chance of prevailing, and in any event will prompt a valuable conversation on some very important matters.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...

...an important action item opportunity.

FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to which most of the country has been subjected under since the onset of the COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing. The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.

And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):

[Name], since March of 2020 you've watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.

YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has been nurturing in the average mind for decades).

Those things having not yet happened, you should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.

Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to show it to you.

Regarding Trolleries

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from learning the truth about the "income tax")

FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This effort involves official government websites and press releases touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds with some CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the real substance of the ruling)-- and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance:

Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Greetings from Thoughtcriminal 231Js1736/23!

That’s my official Thoughtcrime Case Number, which my attorney needs to reference in all our official correspondence with the New Normal Thoughtpolice. I think I’m going to silk-screen it on a T-shirt and wear it on my first day in Moabit Criminal Court, “the largest criminal court in Europe with 340 judges and 360 prosecutors.”

That’s right, the Berlin State Prosecutor’s office is pursuing its criminal investigation of me for allegedly “disseminating propaganda, the content of which is intended to further the aims of a former National Socialist organization,” which according to Germany’s Grundgesetz could send me to prison for up to three years.

My attorney wrote to them and politely explained how ridiculous their investigation is and why they should summarily drop the charges, but New Normal Germany has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to Thoughtcrime, especially Thoughtcrime involving any kind of Covid-denying propaganda.

The “propaganda” in question is these two Tweets:

Which, OK, I just disseminated them again, so there’s another three years in prison. Or, I don’t know, maybe it’s six years in prison, i.e., three years for each separate count of Thoughtcrime.

I wrote those Tweets in German, so let me translate.

The one on the left reads, “The masks are ideological-conformity symbols. That is all they are. That is all they have ever been. Stop acting like they have ever been anything else, or get used to wearing them.” The hashtag translates as “Masks are not a benign measure.”

The one on the right is a quote by Karl Lauterbach, the Minister of Health of Germany, tweeted by Die Welt, a national newspaper. It reads “The masks always send out a signal.” And, yes, Karl, that’s exactly the point I was making.

The image is from the cover art of my book The Rise of the New Normal Reich: Consent Factory Essays, Vol. III (2020-2021), which was banned in Germany by Amazon, Inc. two days after I tweeted the above Tweets. (It appears to also be banned for sale in German bookstores, but I don’t have confirmation of that.)

My attorney just received the screenshots of these Tweets from the Berlin State Prosecutor a few days ago. Up to then, we didn’t know what they were, and we couldn’t find them, because they have been censored by Twitter, presumably on the orders of the German Thoughtpolice. We knew they featured the cover art of my book, because the Prosecutor’s office described it, but we didn’t know about the “Covid denial.”

So, essentially, I’m facing criminal charges, and being threatened with who knows how many years in prison, or thousands of Eurodollars in fines, for (a) stating what has now been widely acknowledged, and what was generally understood by every serious epidemiologist until the Spring of 2020, namely, that mask-mandates do not work, and thus are nothing but symbolic measures designed to generate and enforce mass obedience, and (b) insulting the Minister of Health of Germany, who happens to be a fanatical serial liar who is directly responsible for the serious injury and death of … well, we’ll never know how many people.

Neither of which are actual crimes. Not even in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The pretext for the charges I am facing is the swastika behind the mask, which, as I noted in a recent essay, is a play on the international bestseller, The Rise and Fall of The Third Reich, by William Shirer, which you can buy in any bookshop in Berlin.

Afterword

AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, I have become quite fond of CJ Hopkins since discovering him a few years ago. Trenchant observations; a fine wit; and a good and appropriate attitude consistently characterize his work.

I haven't chosen this Hopkins piece for my 'Other Voices' feature just out of affection, however. Nor even just to bring attention to the assault he is facing, or to make the point that no one should make the mistake of thinking that what is done by "the authorities" in Germany (or the Netherlands, or Australia, or Ireland, or France, etc) is of little interest to Americans, 'cause, you know, it can't happen here.

My choice, rather, is to share and celebrate the admirable and important spiritual strength Hopkins is displaying in this essay(and has done with his steady official-narrative-debunking efforts since at least 2020).

Important, 'cause, you know, it CAN happen here (and does), and admirable because standing like a rock against the current, as Jefferson told us must be done on matters of principle, is not easy, however important it might be.

I hope everyone breathes deeply of that spiritual strength, and gives some thought to the fact that whether, and to what extent, it DOES happen here (or continues to do so) is up to us. WE have the power, provided by the Founders, to shrink the ravenous and rule-defying Leviathan state back down to its mostly harmless Constitutionally-intended and specified dimensions.

Individual action making use of the structure and limitations of the federal taxing power hard-wired into the Constitution, will effect the solution. Each American would thereby cease his or her enabling of the Leviathan state, and in doing so, present an irresistible lure to others, even those who know or care nothing about the perils of the national-security state, but who don't want to relinquish wealth to anyone with which they need not be parting.

That is, individual self-interest-- the most powerful political force in the universe-- is inexorably invoked by the liberating truth about the income tax, and that invocation will yield the beneficial outcome.

All that is needed to make it all happen is for a big enough core group of consciousness-raised Americans to act and be vocal.
