July 4- In 1776, the Declaration of
Independence is formally adopted by the Second Continental Congress. In 1826,
Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both pass from among us. In 1845, Henry David
Thoreau begins his two-year sojourn at Walden Pond. In 1862, Lewis Carroll
spins a yarn for Alice Liddell. In 1934, the engineering for an atomic bomb is
patented by Leo Szilard. In 1946, 48 years after the United States claimed
ownership of the Philippines and crushed resistance to its occupation at the
cost of a million dead Filipinos, the country is granted independence.

Please don't just
read what I post here (or anywhere), and nod your head sagely or
approvingly and then move on to other things. I don't post in order
to affirm your sense of things. I post in order to equip you with
perspectives and arguments with which to
educate others, and in the
expectation that you will forward my posts to other people (or
direct them to those posts). PLEASE do those things,
especially in recognition of the fact
that my posts are heavily suppressed. They will NOT get out
if you don't get them out.
Remember, we won't win by only YOU knowing what I
present. We will win by LOTS OF OTHERS knowing what I present.
It's Declaration Day
...and this is not mere rhetoric.
AS LONG-TIME READERS OF THESE PAGES are
aware, it is my tradition at this time of the year
(and often at the beginning of a new year) to post
the admittedly rather oratorical observations and
admonitions related to Declaration Day which follow.
What I fear that too few understand is that these
stirring words are not offered as entertainment. Nor
are they a theatrical pose.
Similarly, these observations and
admonitions that follow are not offered in order to
inspire noble thoughts and day dreams with which to
occupy one's mind while grilling Fourth of July
burgers and dogs, or while watching firework
displays.
They are, rather, meant to inspire
serious recognition of unsettling truths about our
current American situation and trajectory and
resolute corrective action.
They are, rather, meant to remind us
that those firework displays are reenactments of
deadly-serious battles that had to be fought, and
real sacrifices that had to be made, in order to
bless this land and those fortunate enough to live
in it with liberty and the rule of law, and that
those blessings do not sustain themselves. Instead,
those blessings must be defended and nourished and
celebrated every day-- still by battles and
sacrifices-- in order to preserve them in the face
of constant, sophisticated attack by their enemies.
SO, ON THIS FOURTH OF JULY,
whether seeing them for the first time or the
twentieth, please read the words that follow with
all the foregoing in mind. Recognize that right now,
more than at any time in our American history, the
precious and fragile gifts of liberty and the rule
of law bequeathed to us at enormous expense by our
noble ancestors are on the very edge of extinction,
and it is right now that they must be upheld and
defended, by YOU.
Recognize, too, that mere political
action-- always the easy pretended solution-- will
not suffice. As Josef Stalin reportedly remarked
while fastening in place his iron tyranny of a
Russian people misled into complacency and
cooperation by faith in their ideological
exceptionalism and the virtues of their
institutions, "I don't care who votes, as long as I
get to count the votes."*
Today's American version of incipient
fascism has that same sly smirk about voting now in
the mix, but also strong streaks of it's close
cousin, "I don't care who gets to write the laws, as
long as I get to decide what they mean and how to
enforce them," coupled with an unprecedented and
perilous control of public perception and dialogue
by those same enemies of our American heritage.
If we want real freedom-- the kind
embodying the principles laid out in the Declaration
of Independence-- to survive for ourselves and our
children, we all need to starve the rampaging beast
that despises those principles and which is
sustained by our individual timidity in the face of
its self-serving and lawless demands.
Now, let's get to those (hopefully)
stirring and inspiring words:
DECLARATION DAY. That is,
"NO MORE PARALYSIS Day"
"NO MORE DENIAL Day"
"NO MORE, "I DON'T DARE..." Day"
"NO MORE, "THE BAD MEN WILL NOTICE
ME SO I'D BETTER NOT!" Day"
"NO MORE, "I'LL WAIT FOR SOMEONE
ELSE TO GO FIRST..." Day"
In short, here we are at,
"GET OFF YOUR ASS Day"
"GET LOUD AND PROUD AND UN-COWED
Day"
I'm talking about,
"DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU'VE GOT LIBERTY
AND THE RULE OF LAW Day"
"FACE THE FACTS Day"
"NO TIME TO RELAX Day"...
More than anything, we've just had "PUT
ASIDE DELUSIONS Day" That's what the original
"Declaration day" was all about. It was the day the
American colonists finally acknowledged that the
people they had been entreating to respect their
rights actually didn't want them to have
their rights.
It was the day the American colonists
finally acknowledged that the government operatives
they had been petitioning and politicking and
lobbying and arguing with weren't misled or mistaken
or suffering from misunderstanding, needing only to
have things explained a bit better, or argued a bit
more authoritatively. Instead, as the colonists
realized and finally admitted by way of the
Declaration, those operatives were their
competitors. Those operatives were the
colonists' opponents. Efforts to persuade
them were pointless-- they admitted to no limits on
their power and had no interest in curbing its
abuse, which was being practiced for their
benefit.
IT WAS HARD for the colonists to reach
that epiphany about their government. Because states
exercise power (and partly also because they
maintain an elaborate apologia dedicated to
justifying that exercise as being for the good of
the citizenry, or at least the way things must or
are supposed to be), they come to be viewed as
virtual parents in the hind-brains of those subject
to that power. It is very hard for people to
recognize and acknowledge that actual Mom and Dad
are bad people. It is nearly as hard for people to
recognize that the state under the influence of
which they have been raised is corrupt and
malicious.
But of course, sometimes Mom and Dad
are indeed bad, and states usually are. And while
Mom and Dad can and often do become remorseful, and
proceed to reform and redemption, states are
institutionally-incapable of remorse. The only
remedy against a bad state is taking away its power.
Eventually, after wasting all that time and effort
on petitioning, politicking, lobbying and arguing,
the American colonists admitted this truth on
Declaration Day and said, "No more talking-- it's
time for walking!"
Bless them for abandoning their
child-like view of the state and becoming grown-ups
at last.
IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN if we modern
Americans are equally deserving of blessings. We
should be up to the task; after all, we have a much
easier row to hoe than the colonists did.
While we, too, must adopt a grown-up
understanding of the true character of the dangerous
servant against which we have been wisely warned,
our state is already bound down by the written law,
thanks to the blood and sacrifices of our ancestors.
All we have to do is recognize that the state is
constantly struggling to escape any limitations
placed upon it by that law, and to suppress and
marginalize anyone revealing its bad behavior and
anything showing how it can be put back into its
chains.
Particularly, we have to recognize that
the biggest and most important limitation put upon
the state concerns its ability to take resources
from individual citizens for its own use. It's this
simple-- the one who controls the disposition of
property is the one in charge.
Because it is so important, for decades
the United States has been engaged in the
cultivation and exploitation of myths about what
limitations are placed upon it in regard to resource
acquisition. Sadly, for most of those decades most
Americans have fallen for the fictions.
Chief among these state-serving,
people-harming myths is the truly absurd proposition
that our grandparents amended the Constitution in
1913 to authorize the state's exploitation of their
resources at its will, in defiance and rejection of
the previous tax-limiting Constitutional rules under
which the American people had become the freest and
most prosperous in the history of the world.
THIS IS A MYTH! It never
happened, and even the premier organs of the state
itself have said so endlessly-- but quietly, so as
to preserve the on-the-books harmony of the law
while allowing the state (and its clients and
cronies) to ruthlessly exploit anyone who doesn't
know to look and remains in ignorance.
See the proof that this is a myth,
here. Read the 1916 Cornell and Harvard Law
Review articles on the Supreme Court's unanimous
conclusions about the Sixteenth Amendment. See what
Department of Treasury experts admit about the
income tax. See what the Supreme Court continues to
say about the amendment and the tax over the
decades. Learn the real history of the tax and its
antecedents.
See what the tax really falls upon and
how it really works in application (and how and why
it may have been misapplied to you in the past). See
what those who have learned the long-obscured truth
about the income tax have been accomplishing since
that truth was revealed in 2003.
Then go
here and see how the state has been struggling
to keep you from knowing any of this.
After you take these two enlightening
little excursions, recognize that every single
person or institution that would lose prestige,
power or profits by acknowledging the truth about
the tax can be expected to lie about the subject if
queried. So will every interest that sees itself
benefitting from the existence of a mammoth state
(which might even include those who make their
living complaining about the mammoth state, or the
supposed evils of the income tax).
Every one of
these persons and interests are today's equivalents of the invested
promoters and defenders of the "divine right of
kings" myth that kept people enthralled and
exploited in the colonists' time.
But also recognize that because you now know the
truth, the power is in your hands. The
responsibility is, too.
Rise to deserve the blessings secured
by America's Founders for their
posterity.
Make this year's "Declaration Day" real
by making it-- retroactively, if necessary-- a
personal Declaration Day-- a day of resolution
to
act on behalf of liberty and the rule of law.

*Before the last of the generation of
Russians alive when Stalin purportedly made that
remark had left the stage, the Russian people threw
off the tyranny cemented in place for sixty years by
the Georgian monster and his successors by simply
saying beginning to say "No!" to the state, one by
one, sometimes loudly and sometimes quietly.
I've long wondered if this inconvenient
example of the power of "No!" underlies the
relentless and increasingly strident demonization of
Russia in certain quarters ever since its liberating
transformation in the last years of the 20th
Century...

A Couple Of Quick Comments
On Current Topics Of Interest
...specifically, the anti-American
character of EVs, and the illegality of punishing refusal
to use "preferred pronouns".
LAST EDITION, I OPENED THE NEWSLETTER
with
a few words about the renewable nature of so-called
"fossil fuels". This was prompted as a rebuttal for some of the
misconceptions by which the adoption of electric
vehicles (EVs) is being encouraged (along with even
more insidious techniques such as artificially
raising the price of gasoline by restricting the
supply through executive actions such as shutting
down pipelines and withholding drilling permits).
There's another point to make about the
EV push: This technology involves a centralization-dynamic antithetical to liberty and the principles
around which our American Constitutional and social
structures are designed, and by which Americans
became the most prosperous and most free people in
world history (prior to the abandonment of the gold
standard in monetary policy and the growth of the
welfare/warfare state in the mid-20th Century).
OUR AMERICAN SYSTEM is designed to be,
and remain, decentralized in every possible respect.
The Founders and Framers were very conscious of the
fact that centralization (also known as
"consolidation") creates dangerous imbalances of
power both in the marketplace and in politics and
public institutions. They sought to ensure that
everyone was equipped with the greatest possible
ability to act agilely and independently in both
realms.
Contrast that to the wholly-independent and
self-financed retail gasoline industry, whose
product availability is in the hands of individual,
autonomous and enterprising entrepreneurs rather
than bureaucrats and political interests.
(And just for fun, imagine the poor
driver who runs out of juice on a dark country road
a few miles short of the next charging station, and must
drag an enormous battery, or thousands of feet of
cable-- rather than a 7 lb. can of gasoline-- back to
the car in order to get it to the station for a
fill-up.)
ON A RELATED NOTE (and as the
temperature in my neck of the woods heads for the
90s yet again), I have to wonder if the onset of
"global warming" is really the right time to
transition the generation of electrical power upon
which effective air-conditioning depends to
inherently unreliable sources like solar and wind...
HERE'S A CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE:
Explain to me the legal or moral difference between compelling a
pretense of belief, or restraint from expressing
disbelief, in a "transgender identity"-- such as by
the use of "preferred pronouns", for instance-- and
compelling a pretense of belief, or restraint from
expressing disbelief, in "transubstantiation"
(or any other religious or ideological dogma).
I
can't see any difference, and I think by virtue of
that fact any discrimination or other adverse
consequence imposed on anyone for refusal to make
such expressions or exercise such restraint in
regard to the "transgendered" and the like in any workplace which
is subject to state or federal civil rights laws is
actionable.
Let the lawsuits begin!

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
the fraudulent mantle of
COVID-19 mitigation should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the
citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to
keep the Government from falling into error."
-United States Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson
(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.
"Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be
strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be
highly rated."

"In a time of

The modern denial of biology undermines
an essential part of the human story.
by Robert Lynch
Jim Gaffigan has
this joke about a scientist who mistakes the
male seahorse for the female and then stubbornly
refuses to admit his mistake after learning that the
one he’d called the male is pregnant. It’s a funny
bit, but it hinges on a common misunderstanding that
sex designations are arbitrary.
The biological definition of males and females
is entirely based on the size of the sex cells,
called gametes, that they produce. Males produce the
smaller gametes and females produce the larger ones.
When scientists discover a new sexually reproducing
species, gamete size is how they determine the
sexes. In humans, males release between 200 and 500
million tiny sperm in each ejaculation while females
have a lifetime supply of around 400, much larger,
eggs.
This initial asymmetry in
gamete size may not seem like a big deal, but it
leads to a whole cascade of evolutionary effects
that result in diverging paths for each sex, which
we call sexual selection. If male and female bothers
you, call them little and big, but regardless of
what you call them, this foundational cell-sized
difference in gamete size has profound effects on
both evolution and behavior.
Sexual reproduction that
involves the union of gametes of different sizes is
called anisogamy, and it sets the stage for
phenotypic differences between males and females.
Robert Trivers laid down the basic argument, which
he later described in biblical terms (“the scales
fell from my eyes”), in one of the
most cited papers in biology, when he wrote
“What governs the operation of sexual selection is
the relative parental investment of the sexes in
their offspring.” This fundamental insight provides
the framework for understanding the emergence of sex
differences across all sexually reproducing species.
Because male animals can
produce millions of sperm cells quickly and cheaply,
the main factor limiting male reproductive success
is their ability to attract females, whereas the
primary limiting factor for females, who, in humans,
spend an additional nine months carrying the baby,
is access to resources. The most reproductively
successful men (e.g.,
Genghis Khan is likely to have had more than 16
million direct male descendants) can invest
little and let the chips fall where they may, while
the most successful women are restricted by the
length of pregnancy.
By replacing “female” with
“the sex that invests more in its offspring,”
however, we can extract Trivers’s general argument,
and one of the most falsifiable
predictions in all of biology—the sex that
invests more in its offspring will be more selective
when choosing a mate, and the sex that invests less
will compete over access to mates. Find a single
species where the sex that invests less in offspring
is choosier, and the entire theory is disproved. The
brilliance of this insight is that it explains both
the general rule and all of the exceptions. Because
of the initial disparity in investment, females will
usually be more selective in choosing mates. Trivers
explained something that had puzzled evolutionary
biologists ever since Darwin and also explained why
the
male seahorse, which really does get pregnant,
is choosier, and the female seahorse is bigger.
The assertion that male and
female is an arbitrary classification is false on
every level. Not only does it confuse
primary sexual characteristics (i.e., the
reproductive organs) which are unambiguously male or
female at birth 99.8 percent of the time with
secondary sexual characteristics (e.g., more
hair on the faces of men or larger breasts in
women), it ignores the very definition of biological
sex. Although much has been made of the fact that
sex differences in body size, ornamental features,
hormonal profiles, behavior, and lots of other
traits
vary widely across species, that these
differences are minimal or non-existent in some
species, or that a small percentage of individuals,
due to disorders of development, possess an
anomalous mix of female and male traits, none of it
undermines or challenges this basic distinction. Sex
is binary. There is no third sex.
"Those who can make you believe
absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
-Voltaire
ROBERT LYNCH HAS FURNISHED US with a great refresher on the
simple realities of biology, a scientific discipline currently under
sustained attack by the sort of demented, nihilistic forces once
remarked upon in a popular film of a few years back as simply wanting to
watch the world burn. I share my own sense of these monsters in
this article from last
edition.
Some illuminating observations about
the technical and social dynamics by which the
contagion of these delusional enemies of reality is
spread can be found in
this excellent piece by Jared Eckert. An
excellent and importantly-disquieting sense of the
depth of the depravity involved in these attacks can
be had by way of Matt Walsh's recent film, 'What
is a Woman' (97%
audience enthusiasm on Rotten Tomatoes).
AS I ALLUDED-TO ABOVE, "transgender"
insanity is threatening the health and integrity of
biology as a science. This results primarily from
the huge and alternative-eclipsing footprint of
tax-funded government grants to research and
educational institutions which reward only
"research" and "scholarly" output consistent with
the ascendant political agenda.
That is, either see that your
"research" and "scholarship" supports the "trans"
contrivances (and other politically-correct
positions), or say goodbye to funding.
The corrosive effect of this dynamic on
the quality (or even basic validity) of the affected
body of work and the discipline in which it
dominates is obvious. And all fields of study are
potentially subject to this ruinous effect-- think
"climate science", for example, or epidemiology for
a couple of examples. How about law?
The threat of which we speak arises
from one simple factor-- the enormous resources
handed over to the federal government which can be
turned into oppressive weapons taking
politically-driven control of information and
inquiry, with the result being an ignorant or
misinformed population, vulnerable to manipulation,
and an increasingly incompetent technical sector
being relied upon by all consumers-- public and
private-- of what is supposed to be the best
possible understanding of reality.
There is an answer, of course-- take
from the state the resources by which independent
research and scholarship are corroded and twisted to
political ends. Starve the eight-hundred pound
gorilla currently skewing research efforts into
demented snark-hunts by which nonsense is
"supported" down to its Constitutional dimensions by
which no federal money is devoted to research grants
at all, and let the true and unfettered spirit of
inquiry rule, as it used to do for the most part
throughout the first 150 years or so of American
history.
One simple act by each individual
American will do the trick, and it needs no approval
or agreement from any institutional authority. That one
simple thing will function as a catalyst, compelling
the beneficial reorganization of our whole societal
and political structure as a natural and inevitable
process.
You can see a learn all about this
solution in
this little two-page paper. Read it, think about it,
share it.

EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my
rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite
means..."

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?
Do you
know someone like that? Shake them awake with the latest (sixteenth)
edition of
CtC!
If
CtC were actually
right, it would mean the government's been concealing and
denying and suppressing the truth for years
on end, and everybody knows THAT would never happen...
(Edward Snowden, come home! It was all just a bad dream; there really is
No Such Agency!)
Btw, a copy of
CtC from anywhere except the link above may not
be a current edition. CHECK. It matters. Also, there ARE no
e-book, Kindle or .pdf versions of
CtC.
Don't get taken in by efforts to sell you-- or even give you for
free-- any such thing.
July 5- In 1687, Isaac Newton publishes
his 'Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica', laying out the foundation of
his revolution in human understanding of the natural world. In 1865, the
Salvation Army is founded in East London. In 1937, the highest temperature ever
recorded in Canada-- 113 O F-- is reached. In 1946, the bikini is introduced in
France. In 1954, Rock 'n' Roll is born, with Elvis Presley's first commercial
recording session. In 1996, Dolly the sheep is produced by cloning. In 1999,
President Clinton imposes trade and economic sanctions against the Taliban
government of Afghanistan.

by English King Henry VIII for refusing to countenance Henry's decision to
formally transform the Church of England into a Protestant church. In 1785, the

1854, the first Republican Party convention is held. In 1887, the King of
Hawaii is forced at gunpoint to sign a new Constitution written by Americans
living in the islands which transferred power to the foreigners and set the

PRO TIP: If I were the IRS and I wanted to
discourage people from rebutting allegations that
they had done things I can tax, and wanted to keep them from
successfully reclaiming withheld or paid-in money, I
would salt the "tax honesty" community with
passionate-seeming "legal researchers" who would
warn anyone whose ear they captured that filing a
1040 is a bad idea for one reason or another...

Illuminating Anniversaries of this week:
July 7- In 1863, The Union institutes a draft during the War
Between The States-- exemptions are available for $100. In 1898, Hawaii is
annexed by the United States. In 2005 four explosions occur in the British
mass-transit system, duplicating in remarkably precise detail the storyline of a
"training
exercise" against possible "terrorism" being conducted in exactly the same
locations at exactly the same times. The event briefly raises Prime Minister
Tony Blair's abysmal approval rating to it's highest point in two years, before
it drops again back into the low 30s.
If you're not talking this one up everywhere and
helping generate a buzz, you don't really want liberty and the
rule of law...

In light of
the actual evidence, those
who doubt or
deny the accuracy and correctness of
CtC just because some government officials
denounce it are like the 16th-century Europeans who
were mystified by
Copernicus getting all those
astronomical predictions right even though the
church had said he was wrong.

appeal to King George to redress the colonists' grievances. The King pays
attention as respectfully as today's federal government does to the
Constitution. In 1776, the Declaration of Independence is read aloud to the
people of Philadelphia, and the Liberty Bell is rung. In 2011, the United
States Space Shuttle program runs its final mission, and private operators take

Last Word
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We

that ye were our countrymen."

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on
matters of politics, public policy and law; many of these works
are collected in his second book, Upholding
the Law And Other Observations. He is a member of Mensa;
an
award-winning artist; and has paid his dues as a youth
soccer coach. He is a long-time political activist as well, and
has served as co-chair and platform convention delegate of
Michigans largest county Libertarian Party organization; as a
consultant to the National Right to Work Foundation and Citizens
for a Sound Economy; as a member of the Heartland Institute; and
as a member of the International Society for Individual
Liberty. He is a frequent radio-show guest on stations across
the country.
Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
