October 3- In 1849, Edgar Allen Poe is
found in a gutter in Baltimore, an apparent victim of "cooping" (being drugged
into incoherence and then taken from polling place to polling place and made to
repeatedly vote as instructed). He dies four days later. In 1863, the fourth
Thursday of November is officially specified as Thanksgiving Day by Abraham
Lincoln. In 1908, 'Pravda' is founded. In 1932, Iraq gains its independence
from Britain. In 1981, the hunger strike by PIRA and INLA prisoners at the Maze
prison in Northern Ireland ends after seven months and ten deaths. In 1990,
Eastern and Western Germany are reunited. In 2008, George W. Bush signs the
first $700 billion "bailout" bill, starting an ongoing process of looting the
American people under the amazingly bold pretext that these further offenses
will somehow ameliorate the effects of previous governmental abuse of the
American financial and monetary structures.

What Pro-Lifers Mean By "No
Exceptions For The Life Of The Mother"
...which is not at all what their
abortion-enthusiast opponents want voters to
imagine.
HERE IN MICHIGAN, as in many other
places, staunch abortion opponents are squared-up
against incumbent baby-killing enthusiasts. One
accusation leveled against the challengers is that
they are so radical in their anti-abortion stance as
to allow no exceptions even to protect the life of
the mother, often supported by excerpts of
interviews or publications in which those words are
said.
Context is, of course, omitted
from the excerpts or the accusations they support.
Due to tight campaign budgets, clarifying responses
from challengers in Michigan, at least, are not
finding their way to voters' screens. The
pro-abortion incumbents are refusing to debate the
challengers, even those vying for the highest state
offices. Hence, many voters are left with a very
distorted view of the pro-life contenders, and
hence, this explanation on the challengers' behalf.
WHEN A PRO-LIFE PERSON SAYS, "no
exceptions, even for the life of the mother", he or
she is speaking in the context of a long-standing
contrivance of the pro-abortion crowd in which a
woman is said to have declared that is she if forced
to deliver the baby in her womb, it will be just too
much for her to bear and, "I swear, I'll kill
myself!" On that basis, the mendacious
pro-abortionists make the claim that prohibitions on
abortion threaten lives (without, or course,
acknowledging that abortion invariably not just
threatens lives, but ends them).
It is that contrived "threat" to which
pro-lifers speak when denying exceptions to save the
life of the mother. They are not proposing to deny
medical intervention against actual mortal injury or
misfunction. They are simply recognizing that the
pro-abortion crowd has inaccurately re-defined "life
of the mother" to mean "whatever the mother
threatens to melt down over" and are opposing the
killing of a baby on that specious and fluid
ground-- a ground, it is worth noting, which is
equally accommodating of the argument that, "I put
that pillow over Grandma's face because she was
driving me crazy!"
These "life of the mother"
considerations are behind the pro-life position of "no exceptions for the
health of the mother," as well. Such
purported threats to health are also grounded in the
notion that carrying a baby to term will damage the
mental health of unenthusiastic mothers.
In both cases, the real pro-abortion
"argument" remains nothing more than, "abortion
should be legal so certain women can be spared
distress and the obligation to suck it up and behave
like grown-ups".
Herbert Spencer-- using "men" in its
normal, inclusive meaning (for the miseducated
youth among us)-- wisely observed that, "The
ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of
folly, is to fill the world with fools." I'll
offer a corollary: "The ultimate result of
shielding men from the effects of weakness and self
indulgence, is to fill the world with self-indulgent
weaklings." I'm sure everyone agrees that this
would be a very bad thing (well, IS a very bad
thing...).
AT THE SAME TIME THAT PRO-LIFERS REJECT
the contrived and bogus "life (and/or health" of the
mother" exception to abortion bans, they also
declare their "no exceptions" stance in light of the
fact that there ARE no actual threats to the life or
health of a mother that abortion can prevent. Only
two adverse medical circumstances can generally arise for the
mother as a consequence of a pregnancy-- ectopic
("out of place") "pregnancy" and complications
during delivery. Addressing either of these problems
does not involve "abortion" in the sense meant in
the pro-life/pro-abortion debate.
An ectopic "pregnancy" is not really a
pregnancy at all. It is, rather, a situation in
which a fertilized egg fails to descend all the way
to the uterus and instead begins to grow elsewhere,
most often in a fallopian tube. A fallopian tube
(like any location other than the uterus) is
incapable of sustaining a baby through any
significant development, and the child thus
compromised will inevitably die whether left in the
mother or not.
The mis-located
child's attempt to grow where it is in an ectopic
"pregnancy" will invariably
threaten the life of the mother. But the mitigation
of this threat is not an "abortion" as that term is
used in political debate. As noted, the baby
involved is inherently non-viable for natural
reasons, even if only by misfortune, and it is
a very real and dire physical threat to the mother,
rather than just a declared source of anticipated
stress spoken of in dire terms. Removal of the
threat it represents to the mother is not the
elective killing of a baby for anyone's
convenience-- it is, rather, the remediation of a
natural process gone dangerously awry.
There is tragedy in the ending of an
ectopic pregnancy, akin to that of a miscarriage of
any other kind. But that ending is not an abortion
in the modern, politically-charged sense of the
word.
Similarly, addressing life-threatening
complications during childbirth-- even when doing so
results in the death of the baby-- does not entail
committing an abortion.
In such cases, doctors will be striving
to save both mother and child, and, as whenever two
victims of tragic circumstances are simultaneously
and relatedly in peril, sometimes only one can be
saved, and sometimes which of the two that will be
is a choice. If the baby is the one allowed to die
of necessity in the saving of the mother, no
"abortion" has occurred.
Hence, a pro-lifer's "no exceptions for
the life of the mother" position does not preclude
medical interventions when the life of the mother
actually IS threatened in connection with a
pregnancy.
THAT ALL THIS NEEDS TO BE SAID is the
consequence of the despicable mendacity of the
abortion enthusiasts, who have relied on the gross
misrepresentations parsed-out above to falsely paint
pro-life advocates as rigid, almost mindless
ideologues who elevate the life of a baby above that
of the mother. The actual fact, as shown, is that it
is only within, and in response to, the false
context erected by those abortion enthusiasts that
pro-lifers declare "no exceptions" of their
prohibitions on abortion for the life (or health) of
the mother.
But those pro-life candidates now being
attacked for their "no exceptions" statements need
to articulate the distinctions I have spelled out
here, in order to clarify their positions and defend
themselves against the smear. I hope that everyone
reading this with the ear of any such candidate
shares this post with that person (which is
permalinked

On The Situation In
Ukraine And The Nordstream Sabotage
The madness continues, and worsens...
UKRAINE: A COUNTRY RUN BY
CORRUPT PUBLIC OFFICIALS perfectly willing
to act as a well-paid cash laundromat for
corrupt public officials in America. See
this and then
this, and then
this. Read it all thoroughly and
carefully, following links as they appear.
Among many other things, learn from
that reading that the prospect of Eastern Ukrainian
regions voting overwhelmingly to be annexed by
Russia is not only unremarkable, it is entirely
predictable and the only realistic possibility.
Learn, too, just how much everything
you have ever heard about Ukraine and Russia over
especially the last several years is utter and
despicable propaganda, meant to make you
acquiescent, if not a participant, in atrocities.
And then see
this to learn that however much Biden &
Co.'s. policies toward Ukraine and Russia
have enriched those sociopaths, they have
been a sustained act of gross
irresponsibility.
And then, damn it, spread these
links around!!
BTW, WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT of
Ukraine and Washington's gross irresponsibility, I
must observe that the Biden administration's
sabotage of the Nordstream pipelines is an act of
war-- it is, functionally, a blockade, intended to
thwart Russia's ability to conduct trade with
European countries. At the same time, it is meant to
thwart the ability of European countries to trade
with Russia.
The pathetic effort of the Biden
apologists to argue that Russia sabotaged its own
pipelines should need no debunking among thinking
people. For the rest, suffice it to simply point out
that shutting off the gas to Europe by Russia merely
required the closing of a valve-- which Russia had
already done a few weeks ago, after enormous,
long-lasting restraint despite endless European
provocations-- not the destruction of the pipelines;
and keeping available the "carrot" of resumed
delivery was critically-important to Russia being
able to benefit from the shut-off "stick".
The US sabotage of the pipelines is
intended to prevent Russia from being able to resume
the supply of gas; as such, it is the US that has "weaponized
energy", not Russia. This has been done with
typical Washington arrogance and ignorance-- the
latter most notable, perhaps, in its disregard of Bastiat's wisdom that if goods
don't cross national borders, soldiers will, and of
the fact that the pipeline sabotage will drive
energy prices here in America, as well as in Europe,
through the roof.
Actually, I should be more careful. This is a display of arrogant
ignorance unless Washington WANTS a wider
war, and more devastation of American and European
prosperity and security...
I think the world needs regime change
in Washington. At the least, other members of NATO,
whose access to energy at reasonable prices has just
been thwarted by the sabotage of the Nordstream
pipelines, should boot out the US for that offense
and for its behavior under the Obama and Biden
administration as an aggressive and now very
dangerous trouble-maker on the world stage.
BTW, though both dated from before the
Nordstream attacks, two good recent articles on the
Ukraine business and US demeanor toward Russia can
be found

Aliens Wandering Around
Texas ARE Illegals, Judge Napolitano
...and Abbott and DeSantis should be
lauded, both for their faithful regard for their
duty and for their political acumen.
I'M GENERALLY APPRECIATIVE of Andrew
Napolitano's contributions to the public discourse.
But in
a recent article, Napolitano has aired a
criticism of Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis with which
I am compelled to take issue.
In his article Napolitano angrily
accuses Abbott and DeSantis of crimes-- including
kidnapping and human trafficking. The alleged
offenses occur in connection with the
transport of small numbers of illegal aliens from
the random locations in Texas where they have found
themselves after sneaking across the US (and Texas,
and private property) borders to other places within
the United States (most notably to Martha's
Vineyard, to which DeSantis famously flew 48 or 50 of
these aliens).
Napolitano is quite correct, I
believe, in asserting that the relocations are done
to make a political point, rather than out of direct
concern for the well-being of the aliens. But he misses
(or disregards) the point that the relocations are
done out of concern for the well-being of American
citizens, to whom Abbott and DeSantis have a duty.
Napolitano also overstates his case
concerning the legal status of the aliens and the
legal character of the relocations, asserting that
the aliens are in the USA legally and asserting
without evidence that their willing participation in
the relocations is somehow accomplished by at least
fraud (which Napolitano equates with "force"), if
not worse.
I can't address the particulars of how
the aliens were enticed to take the transports
offered by Abbott and DeSantis. I imagine
that these enticements involved pointing out to the
aliens that as things stood, they were languishing
in a harsh climate in districts without much
available hospitality and in which they were
decidedly not wanted, while elsewhere could be found
"sanctuary cities" in which they would declaredly be
welcome and which offered far greater opportunities
for jobs and social services. As said, though, I can
only speculate on this issue.
But I can say a few
things about the legal status of these aliens.
TO BEGIN WITH, while US law at 8 U.S.C. §
1158(a)(1) provides that anyone who is physically
present in the United States or arrives therein may
apply for asylum, there are several significant
qualifiers that apply.
Under 8 U.S.C. § 1225 (a) and (b)
and related additional provisions of Title 8, aliens
arriving in the USA under the circumstances of those
involved in the relocations must be inspected by
immigration officers. If such aliens do not declare an
intention to apply for asylum on the basis of "fear
of persecution" under the provisions of 8 U.S.C. §
1158, such aliens shall be removed from the United
States without further hearing or review.
If the alien does declare an intention to
seek asylum, such alien is to be referred to an
asylum officer for an interview to determine of the
credibility of the alien's persecution claim. If the
asylum officer finds the claim credible, "the alien
shall be detained for further
consideration of the application for asylum." (8
U.S.C. § 1225(b)(ii), emphasis added).
Determination that the claim is not credible shall
result in removal from the United States without
further hearing or review (although if the alien
balks at that determination he or she is entitled to
an immigration court review of the determination
under subclause III of the same subsection "to the
maximum extent practicable within 24 hours, but
in no case later than 7 days after
the date of the determination under subclause (I)"
(emphasis added).
IT'S TRUE THAT THE PROVISIONS for
initial credibility review by an asylum officer of an asylum claim do not specifically state that
such review shall take place promptly. Indeed, those
provisions don't even say that the initial
inspection of aliens by an immigration officer upon
arrival (or discovery) in the United States be done
promptly. I suspect it is those omissions of the
obvious that are being corruptly exploited by the Biden
administration as the rationale for just leaving the
illegals wandering around Texas with an alleged
court date to which they will supposedly self-report sometime in the distant future.
But those omissions ARE of the obvious,
as is made clear by the language that is found in
the statutes. This includes the obligation for the
detainment pending further proceedings of an asylum
seeker deemed credible, and the provision specifying
that judicial review of a determination that an
asylum review is not credible take place "to the
maximum extent practicable within 24 hours, but
in no case later than 7 days".
Plainly, Congress means for aliens
arriving in the United States to be
immediately
inspected by an immigration officer, who will
immediately deport
any not claiming asylum, and
immediately turn
any claiming asylum over to an asylum officer. That
asylum officer is plainly meant to
promptly make an
initial determination of whether the asylum claim is
credible.
If the claim appears credible, the
asylum officer is to
immediately detain the alien, pending further
proceedings. If not, the asylum officer is to
immediately deport
the alien, with no latitude other that to afford the
alien a hearing before an immigration judge
within no later than 7
days.
SO, AGAIN, AN ALIEN arriving in the
United States by simply walking across the border is to be deported
out of hand unless seeking asylum. The only
exception is if the alien declares a claim of asylum,
upon which he or she is to be
detained pending further proceedings-- even if the asylum application is deemed credible
upon first consideration.
In every case,
no alien who has waded across the Rio Grande should ever be
left wandering around Texas. Those who are doing so
do so illegally-- even if the offense is
primarily that of the Biden administration officials
who have failed in their obligation to faithfully
administer the laws described above.
But that's not all...
In addition to all of the above, which
establishes that those crossing the border and
wandering about loose do so based on somebody's
defiance of the law, there is the validity of the
asylum claims I suspect every alien crossing the
border is instructed to make. Very, very few such
aliens, I suspect, can honestly make such claims.
Asylum claims under the provisions of 8
U.S.C. § 1158 rest on the claimant being a
"refugee" as defined at 8 U.S.C. §
1101(a)(42)(A). Here is that definition:
(42) The term “refugee” means (A) any
person who is outside any country of such person’s
nationality or, in the case of a person having no
nationality, is outside any country in which such
person last habitually resided, and who is unable or
unwilling to return to, and is unable or unwilling
to avail himself or herself of the protection of,
that country because of persecution or a
well-founded fear of persecution on account of race,
religion, nationality, membership in a particular
social group, or political opinion.
Virtually no one crossing the Rio
Grande (or the border elsewhere in the southwest)
can legitimately claim to be doing so to escape
persecution from their home government because of
their race, religion, nationality, membership in a
particular social group, or political opinion.
Seeking to move to a better economic
climate obviously checks none of the required boxes.
Nor even does a desire to escape a vicious
dictatorship, or the aftermath of a natural
disaster, or an ongoing war.
Unless a claimant can show themselves
to have been a visible and vocal political dissident
and targeted for persecution for those activities
(or that others engaged in the same activism have
been so targeted), the "political opinion" option
won't apply. "Membership in a particular social
group" won't work even for the LGBT-yadda-yadda-yadda
types (or those who might claim to be such for the
sake of asylum)-- at least not without renunciation
of the "genetic hardwiring" argument they like to
use as the explanation for their behavior.
Membership in a social group is a chosen thing, and
being genetically queer (or born into the wrong
body, or whatever other such nonsense is alleged)
doesn't qualify.
All-in-all, due to the specifics of
asylum eligibility, pretty much every alien found
wandering around Texas (or Arizona, or wherever) is
dong so under false pretenses, and the willingness
of the border authorities to turn a blind eye to
that fact doesn't relieve the alien from
culpability.
These aliens are ILLEGAL aliens. I hope
Andrew Napolitano-- and other commentators who have
leveled the same charges against Greg Abbott and Ron
DeSantis-- read this article and replace criticisms
of these good and faithful governors with the
compliments they actually deserve.
**
I'M GOING TO CLOSE this immigration comment with a
renewal of my prior call for Texas (or just some
Texans) to stock the Rio Grande with crocodiles. As
I wrote on this page
in
November of 2021,
CROCODILES IN THE RIO
GRANDE. How about it?
Not namby-pamby alligators
or caimans. Crocs.
20 ft. long, 2,000 lb.
crocodiles-- the kind that keep alligators as pets.
Don't you think that might
help stem the flood of illegals pouring across what
is supposed to be a border? I do.
What's more, crocs in the
river is a cheap, easy and very, very fast remedy to
the illegal immigration problem.
It
could even be administered proactively by private,
individual Texans if the state authorities drag
their feet once the proposal is brought to their
attention (responsibility for which I charge the
very large, active and excellent Texas
CtC communities-- both the state group overall
and the especially vigorous Dallas/Ft. Worth buzzsaw
brigade).
I suspect that once the
scaly apex predators are first seen in the water
human border patrol force-strengths could be cut by
99% everywhere except at designated, legitimate
entry points. Upside after upside!
Let me know if you agree...
(Btw,
click here for a little drill-down on the
importance of immigration control.)
P.S. ON A RELATED NOTE, learn the truth
about so-called "birthright citizenship"
here
(and about how that truth affects Kamala Harris's
eligibility for office
here).

Government to keep the citizen from falling into

Overlooked "trans care" crimes;
mislabeling of abortion; the real purpose of
"identity politics"; and the truth about "emergency
powers".
IT IS ARGUED that interfering with
so-called "trans care" threatens the lives of
children upon whom that "care" (actually, chemical
and surgical mutilation--
see
an in-depth discussion here) is to be
administered. This hinges on the notion that without
the "care" purporting to transition these children
in facsimiles of the opposite sex, the children will
suicide due to the unrelieved distress at being in
"the wrong body".
But the distress experienced by these
kids only arises because monsters have implanted
into their naive, vulnerable and malleable
minds the delusional "wrong body" notion, along with
the idea that every anxiety the child experiences as
he or she moves into adolescence (and as all
children similarly situated have always experienced
for all of human history) can be relieved by the
provider-profiting mutilations being offered. Absent
those implanted delusions, no child is going to harm
him-or herself over the lack of "trans care".
The protection of the children from
threat rationale, then, lies in cleansing the child
of the distressing delusions, not in feeding or
affirming them. And in the larger view, the
protection of the children lies in harsh punishment
of the monsters promoting and implanting the
distress and the delusions. Every state legislature
should, if found necessary in its current
interpretation of its laws, add to its definitions
of child abuse such promotion and implantation
efforts, and any form of encouragement of the
delusions.

I FIND IT ENDLESSLY OBNOXIOUS to hear
abortion described as a "medical (or healthcare)
procedure". Abortion is no more a medical procedure
than is ear-piercing or tummy-tucking from the
standpoint of the woman seeking it, while always
being the categorical opposite of a "medical (or
healthcare) procedure" for the baby.
Every person debating the subject from
an honest perspective should relentlessly denounce
this deliberate false labeling whenever encountered.

IN THE NEWS LAST WEEK was the
gratifying election in Italy of Giorgia Meloni as
Prime Minister. Among other media coverage of
Meloni's surprise win was a brief speech given by
Meloni some time ago in which she discusses some of
her positions, one of which was an opposition to
"identity politics" on the grounds that the
artificial (and superficial) segregation of people
into "identity" categories served to convert them
into "consumer slaves. With all due respect to
Meloni, I think she underappreciates the real issue
with "identity politics".
The real purpose behind "identity
politics"-- that is, the encouragement of everyone
to see themselves first and foremost as members of a
narrative-management-designated interest group
differentiated by racial or gender or recognized
preferences/interests (i.e., "black", "woman",
"queer", etc.)-- is the replacement of natural and
competing identities by which one might say (or
think), "I'm an American, and Americans don't behave
like that..." or, "I'm a Hendrickson, and
Hendrickson's don't behave like that..." or, "I'm a
Christian, and Christians don't behave like
that...". Instead, the "identity politics"
manipulators want to embed an identity whose
behaviors are as dictated by the narrative managers.
Those managers dictate what "black
women" care about, or what "gay men" prioritize
politically, superimpose those directed views on the
target group's perspectives, and pretend to the
authority to speak on behalf of these groups. With
all due respect to Giorgia Meloni, "identity
politics" is really a deeply dangerous
marginalization of individualism and transfer of
power to the state.

IT HAS RECENTLY BEEN REPORTED that the "authorities"
being invoked by the Biden administration for various manifestly illegal
edicts (like the transfer of liability for student loans to people who
neither received them nor stand to enjoy the remunerative benefit of the
education for which they paid) are "national emergency powers".
In light of that fact, I think
it's worthwhile to direct attention to the explanation and evidence of why and how
all such claims of power-- at both the federal and state levels-- are
invalid and criminal.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
the fraudulent mantle of
COVID-19 mitigation should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.
Use this evidence in all your
outreach efforts.

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI

Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

Very few policymakers even
concede that Washington's overseas military
adventures often have not turned out as planned.
by Ted Galen Carpenter
The leaders and most of the news media in the U.S.
seem to believe that Washington’s foreign policy
over the past several decades has been a success and
benefitted both the United States and the world.
That assumption wasn’t really true even during the
Cold War, although that confrontation eventually
resulted in the peaceful demise of America’s nasty
totalitarian adversary. There was plenty of
collateral damage along the way, with the suffering
caused by Washington’s conduct in Vietnam and
Afghanistan being the most glaring examples.
The performance of U.S.
leaders after the Cold War has been even worse. An
array of disruptive, bloody tragedies—most notably
those in the Balkans, Afghanistan (again), Iraq,
Libya, Syria, and Yemen—mark Uncle Sam’s global
trail of wreckage. The Biden administration’s
decision to use Ukraine as a pawn in Washington’s
power struggle with Russia is fast becoming the
latest example.
Very few policymakers even concede that Washington’s
overseas military adventures often have not turned
out as planned. The news media, which is supposed to
serve as the public’s watchdog, have routinely
ignored or excused America's foreign-policy
disasters. Instead, when one intervention fails,
they
simply move on to
lobby for the next crusade pushed by U.S.
leaders. Consider how few news accounts now deal
with the ongoing violence and chaos in places such
as Libya, Syria, and Yemen, even though Washington
was a major contributor to all of those tragedies.
Paul Poast, a scholar with the Chicago Council on
Global Affairs, aptly describes the conflict in
Syria as America’s “forgotten
war.” “That the war in Syria has become the
“forgotten war,” he observes, “points to a more
disturbing trend in U.S. foreign policy: The United
States is so engaged in wars and interventions
around the world that a conflict involving the U.S.
military that has killed hundreds of thousands of
civilians does not even register with the American
public anymore.”
Daniel Larison, in a post on his Eunomia
Substack, likewise notes that the pattern in
Syria has been
replicated in many other places, including
Somalia. Despite the extensive human suffering
caused by Washington's long war in Afghanistan, that
episode is already fading in prominence now that
U.S. troops are no longer in the country. Ukraine is
the new center of attention, and the conflict there
is portrayed in the
same, simplistic, melodramatic fashion that has
characterized Washington’s previous crusades.
The elites’ post-Cold War track record is not a
pretty one. Even the cases touted as successes fail
to stand up to scrutiny. Interventionists emphasize
that NATO’s use of military force ended both
Bosnia’s civil war and fighting in Kosovo. Although
that can be considered a success, it is a partial
one at best. Despite the passage of 27 years, Bosnia
is no closer to being a viable, united country today
than it was in the mid-1990s. The three antagonistic
ethnic groups
still refuse to cooperate, and the Serbs even
periodically
threaten to secede. By all measures, Bosnia is
utterly dysfunctional, both economically and
politically. Indeed, NATO’s military intervention
merely may have postponed the day of reckoning.
The outcome in Kosovo was not much better. Tensions
between the Serbian and Kosovar governments are
sufficiently acute that NATO intends
to increase its “peacekeeping” troop presence
and take direct action if the situation gets worse.
Belgrade still is unwilling to recognize Kosovo’s
independence, a position shared by approximately
half of the countries in the international system.
The regime in Pristina and its NATO backers
stubbornly refuse to let the predominantly Serbian
northeast be governed by Belgrade, even though that
concession might resolve the ongoing diplomatic
impasse. As in the case of Bosnia, Kosovo remains a
powder keg that could cause major problems for the
United States and NATO. Yet the Balkan interventions
are considered Washington’s great success story...
“Of all the enemies to public liberty
war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it
comprises and develops the germ of every other. War
is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts
and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the
known instruments for bringing the many under the
domination of the few. In war, too, the
discretionary power of the Executive is extended;
its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and
emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of
seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing
the force, of the people. The same malignant aspect
in republicanism may be traced in the inequality of
fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing
out of a state of war, and in the degeneracy of
manners and of morals engendered by both. No nation
could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual
warfare.”
-James Madison
I HATE FEELING OBLIGED to constantly speak of bad behavior
by the United States (and I suspect that other pundits, Ted Galen
Carpenter included, feel the same). But obliged we all are, not only for
the fact that willingly or not, in some very concrete ways all Americans
are moral participants in that bad behavior.
So, it's personal, and we all have not
only a right, but an obligation to call out the
crimes and the corruption. That's one thing.
The other thing is that there is so
much of that bad behavior, and it is so
impactful on the world... And really, there is a
third thing: the genuinely exceptional and
reverence-worthy principles upon which American was
founded are so precious that their betrayal by those
in control of the levers of power in Washington
demands a calling-out as often as the malefactors
offend, which, unfortunately, means continually.
HAVING SAID ALL THAT, and in light of
Carpenter's recital of recent United States offenses
(in just the foreign policy realm alone!) and
Madison's wise observations regarding the ruinous
dynamics fed by such offenses, I'll say no more,
save only this:
We Americans DO have a moral
responsibility for what is done by Washington, both
in other peoples' homes and in our own. We also have
a Founder-provided means for imposing a much-needed
corrective on those who do bad things in our names.
One simple act by each individual
American will do the trick, and it needs no approval
or agreement from any institutional authority. That one
simple thing will function as a catalyst, compelling
the beneficial reorganization of our whole societal
and political structure as a natural and inevitable
process.

EVEN AS ARDENT A STATIST as Abraham
Lincoln, in announcing his willingness to burn the Southern states to the ground in order to
keep them paying the tariff for the benefit of Northern interests in
his first inaugural address on March 4, 1861, paid at least lip
service to the Founders design of leaving control over the fuel
available to feed the fires Washington wants to light in the hands
of the individual citizenry when he said, "Doing this I deem to
be only a simple duty on my part; and I shall perform it, unless my

Do you
know someone truly steeped in the Kool-Aid?
I mean
someone who finds it easier to believe that the far-better-educated,
far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they
themselves simply misunderstand the true nature of the income tax? Even
while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax

Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials

Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,

Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan

incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
