A "Right To Abortion" Is NOT
A "Right To Kill An Unborn Child" (Or Fetus, Or
Whatever Label You Prefer...)
Strange to hear, I know, but a legal
THROUGHOUT THE DECADES SINCE THE
ROE V. WADE DECISION, the two sides which
squared off over the issue of abortion became so
rigid with emotional and political investment in
their positions that a very key aspect of the
matter-- the real legal meaning of abortion, and its
implications-- has fallen into the cracks. It
never should have done so, but especially now, with
Roe undone, and battles arising in various states
over whether their Constitutions secure a "right to
abortion", this very important matter belongs center
stage in our conversation.
The fact is, "abortion" (as it relates
to a pregnancy) just means, "end the pregnancy". By
no means does it also, or inherently, or even at
all mean, "end the life of the unborn child".
A "right to abortion", even if "found"
in a state Constitution or enacted by a legislature,
is a right to cease carrying a child in the womb--
thus, ending the pregnancy, period. But just as your
right to expel a trespasser from your front lawn
doesn't equate to a right to summarily execute that
trespasser (even if doing so would be the most
convenient solution for you), so, too, a right to
expel an unwanted child from the womb is not a right
to do so violently, much less fatally.
A woman may have a right to terminate a
pregnancy. But she has no right to terminate a baby
(whether born or unborn).
CHECK ANY STATE LAW AT ISSUE and check
any judicial ruling at issue by which Constitutional
"rights to abortions" are found. See how they're
If an explicit "right" to kill the
unwanted child is not articulated, but only a "right
to abort", then that law or ruling does not even
purport to legalize killing a baby (or fetus, or
If, on the other hand, a "right" to
kill an unwanted child is explicitly
articulated (as unlikely as I think that is), the
monster responsible should be immediately impeached
and ejected from civilized society, of course.
But more to the point, that law or
ruling should promptly be challenged on the basis of
such language, because if not necessitated by
life-threatening physical threat to the mother (in
which case no law or judicial support is relevant or
needed), such a killing is plainly indefensible and
cannot be a "right". Additionally, the principles of
law require that a solution to any valid claim of
one party (a right to be free of an unwanted
pregnancy) which has an adverse impact on any other
person (here, the baby, as well as, in many cases,
the father) must be made as minimal in its impact as
NOW, I KNOW THIS ALL WILL STRIKE MANY
as facetious. After all, we all know that what is
meant to be communicated (or not denied) by the
phrase "right to abortion" in the various laws and
rulings in which it appears is that it's okay for a
mother to deliberately kill an unborn baby. (And we
all know that as a practical matter, even gently
removing a baby from the womb before a certain point
in a pregnancy will inevitably result in its death).
But again, unless "it's okay for a
mother to deliberately kill an unborn baby" is
explicitly said, it is NOT what the law or ruling
permits (even if it DOES permit the inevitably fatal
removal of a child from a womb early in a
And if anybody wants to contest the
assertion, they should be made to expressly say that
deliberately killing the child is what they are
after, and that a "right" to do so is how the phrase
"right to abortion" is to be understood. I don't
think too many will stoop to such an expression, or
be able to successfully defend it.
FINALLY, LET ME URGE EVERYONE TO take
these observations very seriously. The abortion
issue is a big deal, and remains one even after the
Dodd ruling by the Supreme Court. It is
also going to be a factor in the upcoming mid-term

The bad guys have enjoyed control of
the debate, by controlling the terms of the debate,
for far too long. That must and can be changed.
In every debate or ad in which this
matter arises or is addressed, the good guys and the
good cause could benefit from a relentless pointing
out that a "right to an abortion" is NOT a "right to
kill an unborn child". Likewise, the good guys and
the good cause could benefit from relentlessly
requiring opponents or adverse interviewers to
replace their euphemistic "right to choose" or
"right to an abortion" with "right to kill an unborn
child", if that's what they really mean.
On the other hand, the good guys and
the good cause could benefit very much from inducing
those on the other side to declare their
understanding of abortion to NOT include a "right"
to deliberately kill a child.
Spread this article around. Help make
these good things happen.
(An earlier version of this argument,
discussing in some depth how its widespread adoption
would play out, can be found-- and shared--

WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT of abortion,
I'd like to briefly remind everyone (or point out to
those too young to remember America before Roe)
that the absence of abortion availability produces
solid social benefits.
In the absence of abortion
availability, unmarried women are strongly
incentivized to chastity before marriage and,
because of the other powerful incentive in play, to
therefore comport themselves so as to be attractive
prospects for marital consideration by
marriage-worthy men. This means developing and
displaying all forms of good character and all the
socially-positive aspects thereof, including being a
loving spouse, cultivating instincts, habits and
practices of protection, loyalty and self-sacrifice
on behalf of her family, and supporting public
policies based on a long view into the future,
rather than those grounded in selfish and immediate
Men are compelled to chastity before

grounded in selfish and immediate gratifications.
Infidelity bears a much greater risk of
exposure, and so, is discouraged, or if not, is
conducted with strict care to avoid conception. The
result is either less infidelity or fewer unintended
children-- both are positive outcomes.
None of this is to say that an absence
of institutionalized abortion results in an
automatic heaven on earth, of course. But while with
or without institutionalized abortion much bad will
remain in the world, in its absence the benefits of

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS of
the system of government established by America's
Founders and Framers is its discipline over the
federal government's access to resources. This
discipline is imposed in large part by two key
factors relating to each of the classes of taxation
permitted under the US Constitution.
One of those factors is that all
capitations and other direct taxes are made very
politically-sensitive in their imposition (and
effectively restricted to no more than can be borne
by the poorest states) via
the apportionment mechanism. The other
disciplining factor is that all other permitted
taxes are indirect imposts,
excises and duties. Such taxes are subject to
the control of individual citizens, each of whom
decides how much engagement in excise-taxable
activity will be undertaken, if any (a discipline
that extends to the several states, insofar as they
participate in income taxation).
As Hamilton put it in Federalist 21:
"Imposts, excises, and, in general,
all duties upon articles of consumption, may be
compared to a fluid, which will, in time, find its
level with the means of paying them. The amount to
be contributed by each citizen will in a degree be
at his own option, and can be regulated by an
attention to his resources."
It is by virtue of this disciplinary
structure that the United States can be kept secure
on the sovereign people's leash-- bound down from
mischief, as Jefferson put it, by the chains of the
Constitution. Today, we're going to celebrate a new
batch of American patriots who are doing this

FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC BITS OF EASING of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
the fraudulent mantle of
COVID-19 mitigation should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you

[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take

you don't call them out for it.

EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...

White Slaves And Other Inconvenient Historical
by Matt Walsh
...now proceed to the afterword below...
"Those who can make you believe
absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
MATT WALSH DOES A GREAT JOB summarizing the historical
reality about slavery as a world-wide, and thousands-of-years-pervasive
institution. And he does so for the right reason, having recognized the
pernicious character and effects of endless and deepening race-hustling
and guilt-mongering that has long-since eaten away much of what was once
American harmony and tranquility.
It may be hard for younger Americans,
and those with poor memories, to realize just how
much has been lost to the deliberate, nihilistic and
corrosive bile spewed upon us all over the last ten
years or so by way of utterly dishonest and
agenda-driven propaganda like "The 1619 Project" and
every purveyor of "Critical Race Theory" infesting
our schools and other public and even private
institutions. The damage is vast and deep and
Corrective efforts like those

Indeed, I began this year's newsletters

Will's comments up in my "Afterword" with excerpts
from the 1962 Encyclopedia Brittanica laying out the
inconvenient truth that the African slave trade
exploited by those bringing slaves to the Americas
in the 17th and 18th centuries involved Africans
enslaved by other Africans, who were then sold to
traders who brought them here (and elsewhere). I
recommend a look at those authoritative sources--
Will's article and my afterword with the Brittanica
The truth is, America is the hero of
the slavery story. America was conceived and
established under principles inherently antithetical
to slavery. Those principles worked (coincidentally
with similar concurrent but uncoordinated efforts by
Great Britain, another major white European ancestry
power) over the course of a mere few decades to
bring about the collapse of slavery not only in
America itself but throughout the better part of the
world where previously it had been ensconced for all
of recorded history and doubtless deep into
THE PROBLEM OF SLAVERY TODAY is in the
pervasive disinformation on the subject churned out
by malefactors as described above and deployed as a
weapon against American stability. This assault is
accomplished by exploiting the consolidation of
impressionable young minds into government schools
where propaganda can be delivered and embedded
wholesale and without hindrance, and by exploiting
the capture of mainstream media organs by the state,
which uses those media organs for the same ends
against the adult population.
It should go without saying that among
other responses, mature and well-meaning Americans
should cease to volunteer the resources by which
these destructive propagandistic efforts are made
possible. It is, I do not hesitate to say, the civic
duty of all good Americans to do so.
