February 26- In 1797, the Bank of
England issues its first irredeemable banknotes after war expenses had depleted
England's gold reserves. Redemption of its notes in real money resumed 24 years
or so later. In 1863, Lincoln signs the National Banking Act into law,
establishing a series of national banks in competition with private and state
banks (1,644 of them by the end of 1866). This was the first step in a process
by which non-federal currency was driven out of circulation, and which
culminated eventually in the establishment of the Federal Reserve system. In
1993, a truck-bomb explodes in the underground garage of the North Tower of the
World Trade Center.

THIS ISN'T GOING TO BE much of a
newsletter, either, I'm afraid. A combination of
one-off family obligations and (non-emergency) medical
stuff has made February a pretty compromised month
for me. Fair warning: March is going to be the same.
Nonetheless, I haven't stopped watching
the world go by, and even though it's a bit tough to
do right now, I am compelled to share a few thoughts
on some of what I see. The Mad Max dystopia slouches
towards us with increasing haste, but there is still
a chance that it can be fended off merely with
well-ordered thinking, rather than suffered through
with blood. So, one must speak.
Here, then, are a few comments among
the many that could be offered:
CONGRESS NEEDS TO START writing its
laws in the understanding that the executive
branch responsible for their implementation
cannot be trusted to act in good faith. Actors
in that branch are as likely as not to be
animated by a competing agenda, either at the
time of a law's passage or later in one or more
succeeding administration.
To pick a particularly
egregious example of the Congressional naiveté
against which I am advising, the "border security"
legislation recently dangled as a lure for tossing
another $75 billion or so down the rat-holes of
Ukraine and Israel calls on the administration to
adopt certain measures of stricter border control
when it has had a certain number of "encounters"
over a specified time.
But consider. The
legislation is passed in order to impose upon the
Biden regime a discipline which it clearly rejects
(else the legislation would be unneeded). Thus, the
regime can be expected to evade or subvert the
legislation insofar as its prescriptions allow.
Here, this is as simple as "overlooking" (and hence,
not "encountering"), however many alien invaders as
the Biden regime wishes or needs in order to serve
its own purposes and defy those of Congress.
Congress must resume
crafting its legislation with a jaundiced eye, with
nothing open to bureaucratic (or even judicial)
"interpretation".
I HAVE YET TO SEE, and would very
much like to see, the rationale by
which the plaintiffs in the Colorado case
barring Trump from the ballot were accorded
standing by the courts. How, exactly, were these
folks at risk of personal harm if Donald Trump
appeared as a candidate on a ballot, whether a
primary ballot or a general election ballot?
Is it because Trump's
appearance on the ballot meant he might be nominated
or elected, and they would then have to suffer the
evils of having what they argue would be an
ineligible officeholder? This would entail looking a
bit far into the future in order to assert a (merely
potential) harm, among other things...
More intriguingly, is it
because the Colorado Secretary of State putting a
(purportedly) ineligible candidate on a ballot is an
illegal act and the plaintiffs, as stakeholders in
all acts of their servant state government, would
have a personal moral or legal connection with that
illegal act sufficient to convey standing by which
to invoke judicial enjoinment?
How exciting that latter
doctrine would be! I've got a big list to work with
if that door is now open...
If anyone has dug in enough
to provide an answer to that "standing" question,
please share. This could be good!
I THINK THAT IN OUR increasingly
fractured America, ever-more rigidly and
irrevocably divided upon ideological lines and
with ever-more frequent discussion of break-up
and secession, and of electoral shenanigans
intended to ensure the nominal victory of either
Republicans or Democrats, it is worth noting
that what was once "Eastern Ukraine" is
the portion of the former Ukraine which had
elected Victor Yanukovych, the president
ousted in the 2014 US-engineered coup which
brought the Ukrainian neo-Nazis into power (see
the whole back- and front-story on that coup
here). It is because the coup
disenfranchised that portion of Ukraine that its
population seceded.
I think this aspect of
Ukrainian's recent history should be instructive to
the many knee-jerk hawks plumping for prolonged
proxy-war by what is left of Western Ukraine against
Russia, but who themselves harbor sympathy toward
the notion of national breakup in the face of
irreconcilable differences. Maybe, in light of that
sympathy, the hawks should recognize that these
disenfranchised folks should be left to separate as
they wish, and to determine their future allegiances
for themselves, as all people have the
Declaration-of-Independence-recognized right to do,
yes?
SPEAKING OF MINDLESS HAWKS, those
plumping for more support (and hence,
complicity) for the massacre of Palestinians
being systematically conducted in Gaza (and
increasingly in the West Bank, as well) since
last autumn might do well to consider how
reminiscent is the current political and policy
application of the "chosen people" thing to that
of the "master
race" thing which was trotted out for
similar exploitation in Europe around 100 years
ago.
The hypocrisy of this
particular behavior by Israeli politicians and
influencers, who claim to speak as, or on behalf of,
"the Jewish people", is revolting, considering the
history of the those people and the earlier "master
race" proponents. This is especially so while
those politicians and influencers beat the drums for
their "final solution" effort against their own "untermenchen
problem".
That revolting hypocrisy
taints all those in America who also beat those
drums, and especially those who do so while risibly
claiming that
the obvious genocide being conducted
against Palestinians standing in the way of Israeli
expansionist ambitions is just an act of
"self-defense". I can't link to evidence without
more research than I have time to undertake at the
moment, but I would bet that at least here and there
some Nazi apologists also argued that dealing with
"the Jewish problem" was also an act of
"self-defense".
I WONDER HOW MANY AMERICANS KNOW
that four years ago Russia banned production and
importation of all GMO (genetically modified)
plants, seeds and livestock? How many know that
last July, Russia banned all "transgender"
nonsense?
You'd think that all those
trying to fan the flames of American Russophobia
would be trumpeting these facts, in light of the
widespread public enthusiasm for GMO and trans stuff
which is at-least-implicitly asserted by the MSM and
all those in the political class who protect and
promote both with policies which are supposed to
reflect the views and preferences of the American
majority.
Why doesn't Joe Biden
remind Americans of these Russian bans in his
periodic angry chastisements of those thwarting the
latest effort to give more American treasure to the
Nazis in Kiev? Somehow, that never happens...
EFFORTS BY VARIOUS STATE
GOVERNMENTS to arrange housing for illegal
immigrants in private homes has been in the news
just a bit lately ("just a bit" because while
very newsworthy, widespread discussion of these
efforts would be kinda unhelpful to the agenda,
right?). It seems to me that one-- maybe the
only-- aspect of the discussion that should
be taking place is that the identification of
these illegals for housing or any other purpose
is the identification of these illegals for the
purpose of deportation.
Finally,
THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS CROWING
about another outrageous "student loan
forgiveness" pander. Much else can and should be
said about this subject, but one of those things
is this: Any loan recipient excused from
repayment should certainly, at a minimum, be
stripped of all credits, degrees and other
benefits, recognitions or values of any kind
acquired or made possible with the help of that
"forgiven" loan.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
since the onset of the
COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.

certainly WOULD do something
like that.

FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.

is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.

Every once in a while, Big
Government globalists inadvertently tell the truth.
It’s usually not because they’re dumb, but because
they’re so entombed inside their own dystopian
cocoons that they forget how crazy they might sound

Economic Forum is filled with giddy zealots who have
no idea how insane their plans for global domination
sound to the wider population because the WEF’s
psychopathic members are universally eager to
depopulate the planet; cage the survivors; and
drip-feed their human pets with a cocktail of drugs,

Schwab and see
Dr. Evil. WEF-fers see Commie Klaus as a

While Davos devotees yearn for a “new world order,”
prudent Westerners are thinking about how to end the
WEF’s madness before it abruptly ends them.
There was a time when
Americans would look at some of the eccentric cult
behavior taking place in Europe, shake their heads,
and dismiss it as the kind of kookiness that happens
when Old World aristocrats and commie-curious
“elites” get together to drown their sorrows in
cognac and regale each other with tales of lost
colonies and mighty empires. Then American
politicians began sounding a lot like their European
cousins, who speak of common people as a farmer
would a sounder of smelly pigs. When then-senator
Barack Obama was yukking it up on the campaign trail
with Nancy Pelosi’s friends in San Francisco, he
complained about “bitter” blue-collar voters who
“cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people
who aren’t like them.” Even Hillary Clinton cackled
at that mask-slipping moment, when she
denounced Obama’s remarks as “elitist and out of
touch.” She was lying, of course, because eight
years later, she
told an audience in New York City that half of
Donald Trump’s voters are “racist, sexist,
homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it”
and deserve to be relegated to a “basket of
deplorables.” Those moments of candor — delivered in
front of adulatory audiences who shared Obama’s and
Clinton’s cloistered worldview — crystallized for
tens of millions of Americans that the political
“elites” occupying D.C. have more in common with Dr.
Evil’s communist club of aspiring tyrants in Davos
than with the hardworking, God-fearing, patriotic
citizens who have always sacrificed so much to make
America great.
Ever since Obama’s
election, the effort to bulldoze America and rebuild
on its rubble a compliant nexus point for the WEF’s
coercive Borg to dominate the West has picked up
speed. Unaccountable bureaucrats and politicians in
Washington don’t even pretend to respect the will of
voters anymore. Strong majorities of Americans have
said resoundingly:
close and secure the borders, stop
spending money that you do not have, end
widespread warrantless surveillance, stop
censoring public debate, stop distorting the law
to punish dissenting voices, safeguard elections
from mail-in ballot fraud, and stop funneling money
to foreign regimes that use that money to attack the
United States. The hive-mind Borg in D.C. has told
the American people to go suck an egg. The federal
government’s targeted abuse of Americans has been an
eye-opening experience for many.
Consider this question:
when is the last time you can remember an
Establishment politician trying to unite Americans
behind common history and principles, irrespective
of background or race? It’s been many years, has it
not? Why is that? Because the current power
structure of the U.S. government depends upon
keeping Americans fiercely divided.
The moment a large
coalition of Americans come together to tackle
common obstacles is the moment that the small
“ruling class” of political elites (across all three
branches and the vast, unconstitutional
administrative State) get tossed to the curb. From
D.C.’s point of view, the scariest thing about
Donald Trump is that his policies make sense to
an
amazingly diverse cross-section of the American
people. In his wake, the political class’s usual
attempt to pour salt in old racial wounds has become
less effective. That’s why we now hear so much about
the scourge of “Christian
nationalism.” The attempt to use religious
discrimination as a new wedge to divide society is
an admission that the Deep State is desperate for a
new boogeyman.
As a Christian who does not
have an irrational fear of nation states, I always
think, “Better to be a Christian nationalist than a
globalist child-groomer, amirite?” What
those who seek to divide us are really saying
through the use of this Christian dog whistle is
that people who believe in personal freedom, the
Bill of Rights, and the Bible are somehow “white
supremacist” Nazis. That’s a pretty hard sell when
WEF-fers are the biggest Nazis operating today.
In Germany, where ordinary
people have begun pushing back against a government
hostile to their safety and prosperity, far-left
interior minister Nancy Faeser goose-stepped to the
nearest microphone and announced that voters who
criticize the German government or donate to
unapproved political parties will be treated as
potential criminals. How very democratic —
and certainly not at all reminiscent of the bad old
days when fascism was openly in fashion! “Those
who mock the State must be dealt with by a strong
State,” the
Cruella de Vil clone
warned the German people. Hear that, Germany?
You must not laugh at the people who are destroying
your country with “green energy”–induced inflation
and
open border immigration policies. Otherwise, you
might just get a spanking. In order to remain
“free,” you must do exactly what you’re told. Those
who resist will lose the “freedom” to obey.
Wow, totalitarianism is
well on its way to reclaiming Germany for the
umpteenth time. I did Nazi that coming.
I HOPE EVERYONE FOLLOWED the link above and finished
Shurk's article. Some ringing words extolling the virtues and promise of
courage and perseverance are offered in the end-- music to the ears of
the righteous lover of liberty. We all should speak that language more
and more today, making it a shameless part of our everyday discourse,
and defying the sustained effort by servants of power in office and in
the media to embarrass such expressions as quaint or unsophisticated or
over the top.
And as Shurk says, we should mock the
state. Mercilessly. Scornfully. Relentlessly.
We must remember, that while the state
may be a sometimes-useful, and in some form or
another, necessary (or at least, inevitable) fixture
in human affairs, it is inherently NOT your friend.
While the attribution of these words to George
Washington is questionable, they are certainly
freighted with the wisdom and spirit of all the
Founding Fathers: Government, like fire, is a
dangerous servant and a fearful master.
At bottom, the proper attitude toward
the state should be 1. skeptical tolerance under a
watchful eye, and 2. a very deliberate keeping of
the thing on lean rations, unable to ever grow to
dangerous size-- which includes being able to feed
itself.
The Founders set things up with that
skeptical, jealous regard, and left baked into the
Constitutional cake all the tools by which
individual Americans can enforce that "lean rations"
part.
The simplest and most peaceable of
those tools is the power provided to each individual
American to restrict, within the law, the resources
he or she provides to the co-opted state with which it
would otherwise grow like Topsy and escape its
proper limits. This requires nothing more than a
little education and a little courage, as is explained
here.
Read that material, and then become an
agent of change. Urge everyone you know to do both
of these things, as
well.
Seriously, people. It's time to stop
whistling past the graveyard.

far-more-suspicious-of-government Americans of a hundred years ago were
complete morons who granted authority to the state to take whatever it
wished from themselves and their posterity than to imagine that they

while knowing that their beliefs about the tax are derived entirely from
the representations of those who profit from those beliefs (like tax
bureaucrats and "tax professionals")?

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on

Hendrickson's business career has included nearly a
decade-and-a-half at the leading edge of the renewable-energy
industry, both as Director of Purchasing and Materials
Management and member of the R&D board at Starpak Energy
Systems, the mid-west's then-largest solar heating and
energy-recovery-and re-utilization company; and as founder and
president of AFJ Inc., a high-efficiency lighting design,
manufacture and installation firm.
Beginning in the mid-1990s and continuing for the
twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
