The Assassination Attempt, The J.D. Vance Pick, And The Biden Withdrawal

We live in interesting times, indeed (in the "Chinese Curse" sense of the phrase).

IN THE LATE AFTERNOON OF JULY 13th I received a cryptic phone call from my son asking if I had heard the news. That's all I got before the call was cut off, because I was at that time traversing Monument Valley in Northern Arizona and cell service was sketchy at best. A good friend and I were touring and hiking in Utah's Grand Circle, and were off the grid completely most of the time.

Before long, upon reaching the quirky little place we were to spend that night, and finding the one spot in its environs in which one could make or receive a call, I got the story about the shootings at Trump's Butler, Pennsylvania rally.

And a pretty amazing story it is. Of course, it is not at all surprising that an attempt has been made on Trump's life-- many of us have long seen that as the predictable next step after the failure of every prior effort to thwart his run for a return to the White House. But the outcome of this attempt!

The thing was about as near fatal as it possibly could be without success, and thus provided the unique opportunity for Trump's impressively gutsy response and that amazing photo of the fist in the air over a blood streaked but defiant face, with the flag behind him and grim-faced Secret Service agents struggling to get him off the stage.

Aside from the very real tragedies of a dead husband and father and two other serious woundings from what are presumed to have been missed follow-up shots at Trump, this assassination attempt-- while, again, predictable-- was remarkable for the benefits it has provided the Trump campaign directly, and for the sharpness of the rebuke it has delivered to every oppositional voice which has been calling Trump a reincarnation of Hitler for the last eight years or so.

But there are some further things to be said about this.

 ONE OF THOSE THINGS is that talk of Trump's escaping death in the dramatic way that he did as being a miracle (as in, a literal act of God) needs to be squelched, hard. Trump being seen in some quarters (including, perhaps, his own mind) to have been anointed by God is a very dangerous proposition.

Donald Trump is just a man. He is now more likely than ever to be the next president, and the last thing any wise person wants is traction for the notion that any idea in the mind of any man in office is divinely inspired or endorsed. We already are too prone in this country to cults of personality, in which the prudent practice of subjecting the ideas of leaders to independent skeptical scrutiny before coming to conclusions about them is foregone.

Trump is not himself a deep thinker. He is excessively vulnerable to flattery, and has a record of surrounding himself with people with an agenda of their own. Unskeptical embrace of whatever notions the man cares to articulate could be very dangerous, and if the idea that he is divinely appointed to the presidency is allowed to  take root in that broad swath of his supporters which I suspect is capable of such views, that unskeptical embrace is what we will get.

(Btw, I readily admit that I can't say for sure that the missed assassination attempt wasn't a miracle, of course. But let's remember that Adolph Hitler narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by having stepped to where the heavy leg of a table protected him from the blast of the briefcase bomb planted in his conference room-- a sparing very much like that enjoyed by Donald Trump on the 13th. I think few would embrace the notion that Hitler was the beneficiary of divine intervention, and no more should anyone think that about Trump-- the simplest and most reasonable conclusion is that now and then even miraculous-seeming escapes happen by mere chance.)

THEN THERE IS THE MATTER OF the "mechanics" of the attempted assassination. Much has already been said by others about the apparent gross incompetence/negligence of the Secret Service (or the only alternative, its complicity in the attempt), so I won't get into that arena of what is, in any case, self-evident, other than to observe that we are obviously being heavily gaslit by the MSM, as usual, and stonewalled by the Biden administration. A continuing hue and cry against all this seems to be called-for.

It is also to be observed that the reporting on the matter is bizarre-- I, at least, have yet to see an interview with either parent of the purported shooter-- Thomas Crooks-- or any of his classmates or co-workers. A few things have just lately emerged in the form of FBI claims about a handful of items said to have been found on his cellphone, but frankly nothing said by the FBI can be taken seriously. Here, again, our voices should be raised, and the narrative managers, now on the back foot, should be pressed hard and relentlessly.

 But there is one other thing which was brought to my attention in a brief remark by, I think, George Galloway, in a podcast last week, that relates to both matters above and which appears to be borne out after a little rudimentary investigation: Thomas Matthew Crooks seems unlikely to have been the actual shooter, in that where shot by a Secret Service sniper immediately after the shots aimed at Trump, Crooks is lying well below the peak of the roof over which he would have to have been leaning his rifle in order to target Trump.

Look at this image of Crooks' body after the head shot that killed him:

 The peak of the roof (the one the head of the Secret Service said was so dangerously sloped that agents couldn't be asked to risk life and limb by being stationed upon it)-- on the opposite side of which lay the stage at which Donald Trump was speaking and over which a targeting rifle would have to have been aimed-- is well beyond Crooks' position.

Simply put, Crooks could not have fired on Trump or the assembled crowd from, or even from within yards of, the position at which he was immediately killed-- with no time to have backed up-- after the six or eight shots which someone fired toward Trump's stage (by a Secret Service sniper on a taller and more highly-peaked roof behind Trump's stage, who reportedly says Crooks was still facing forward toward the roof peak of the building on which he lay at the time of the shot, just as is indicated by the position of his body in the photo above).

Based on this evidence, I think it can be definitively said that Thomas Matthew Crooks, though inexplicably present on a convenient roof on July 13th while equipped (so we are told) with a rifle and after having spent an hour or two creeping about the site doing odd things, did not shoot Donald Trump or anyone else that day. Someone else took those shots, and it doesn't seem that any effort is underway to identify that actual shooter.

Further, and, perhaps, most importantly, the "authorities" must know all this. And yet, they pretend that Crooks is the shooter.

I may be proven wrong about all this in the end, of course. I wasn't there, and somehow despite how common it is these days for great videos of urgent events to be made by random people acting on the fly, no one at this rally seems to have been alert enough to get at it, or was capable of keeping the target onscreen or in focus for more than an occasional second now and then-- reminding me of every purported UFO video ever offered up on behalf of those claims.

For now though, I'm offering this evidence and these thoughts for anyone to consider as he or she sees fit.

Relatedly (since a VP pick is long-term assassination protection),

I'M GENERALLY PRETTY PLEASED that DJT ended up choosing J.D. Vance as his running mate (although of the "short-list" possibilities, I'd have preferred Vivek Ramaswamy). Vance seems pretty good on most issues, and is smart enough to be expected to continue so on those issues not yet on the burner. He is likely to appear even less desirable in the oval office to Trump's deepest critics than Trump himself, and so qualifies as a credible insurance policy, as well as a good replacement for Trump should one become necessary over the next four years or afterwards.

One caveat, though-- Vance appears to be in the thrall of Israel-worship, just as is Trump himself. With Israeli aggression in the Middle East (and especially the genocide against the Palestinians in their own country) likely to ignite a major regional war which could quickly escalate into world war if not checked by the United States, prostration before Likud lunatics by both Trump and Vance is a dangerous thing, indeed.

All in all, Vance is a good pick, but he needs to be straightened out on his views of Israel.  At one time Vance explained those views by observing that the United States of America is a Christian nation, and it is in what is currently called "Israel" that critical events in Christian theology took place. True enough, but that truth doesn't hinge in any way on whether the natives of that land over the last few thousand years remain in control of their own olive groves or if those groves are in the hands of Western-sponsored invaders.

Christian pilgrimages to the Holy Land were just as common and unmolested before 1948 as they have been since-- indeed, if anything, the tranquility and future safety of the sites and artifacts therein are much less secure since the Israeli seizure and occupation of Palestine. Vance should be encouraged to think about that.

Breaking...

YESTERDAY EVENING, Joe Biden was withdrawn from the 2024 presidential contest-- by whom, we do not know, since the announcement was made by tweet. This comes as a surprise to no one; Biden already had no chance of a performance that could credibly support another rigged outcome declaration in his favor, and would have been losing ground on that front from now until November. In short, that dead horse had begun to stink.

Replacement options for the Democrats all have their own defects, but this will complicate things for the Trump campaign. Biden was an easy target, and allowed Trump's campaign to largely keep the focus on his opponent's personal flaws. A new candidate won't offer that easy a distraction.

The Republicans will be compelled to engage on issues, with details. They will no longer get get away with little more than platitudes and blustery, over-stated claims about how great things were during Trump's first term.

That's a good thing.

Why Does Washington Support Racism In The Middle East...

...while strenuously condemning it everywhere else?

CORRUPT EFFORTS TO ERODE THE FIRST AMENDMENT under the pretense of a rising tide of "anti-semitism" in the US have long been underway by American officials with apparently divided loyalties. Generally, these efforts involve the false conflation of opposition to Israeli policy and behaviors with a generalized hatred of Jewishness, most notably taking the form of various state laws denying public contracts and employments to those who will not take oaths against boycotting Israeli businesses, and recent abominations like the "Antisemitism Awareness Act" by which colleges are coerced into suppressing criticism of Israel.

As well as being blatantly unconstitutional, these purportedly "anti-racism" efforts are tinged with more than a hint of irony. After all, the ideology on behalf of which they are undertaken-- Judaism, particularly in its modern "Zionist" form-- is itself inherently racist.

Indeed, Zionist Judaism may be the only extant ideology which is explicitly racist under terms of its own foundational and scriptural documents. Per those writings and the positions they espouse, Jewish people are expressly declared to be-- by virtue of their parents' ethnicity (hence, "racially")-- the sole, uniquely favored (and hence inherently superior), "chosen" people of God Himself, qualified thereby to engage in the extermination of other, inherently lesser peoples, as well as the seizure of other, lesser people's lands-- as is now being done to the population of the most recently seized land, Palestine, with the moral cover of an explicit invocation of the purported "chosen people" mandate and with the massive assistance of American resources.

That any given person or people have a right to quietly and peaceably harbor whatever nonsense they like about themselves is undisputed. But delusional notions of superiority cannot serve as justification for active abuse of other people. That is also beyond dispute.

It's time and past time for all Americans of good character to divorce themselves from all forms of racism and all those who practice it.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...

...an important action item opportunity.

FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to which most of the country has been subjected under since the onset of the COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing. The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.

And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):

[Name], since March of 2020 you've watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.

YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has been nurturing in the average mind for decades).

Those things having not yet happened, you should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.

Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to show it to you.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance:

Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Or how about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying the same?

Now you just have to explain that you're going to show exactly those things-- but because the state really doesn't want people to know this, these things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press release. But it'll be worth the effort...

NATO's Endgame Appears To Be Nuclear War

The world is at its most dangerous moment since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Back then, however, the fear of total destruction consumed the public; today, few people seem even to be aware of this possibility.

It is easily imaginable that nuclear war could break out between Russia (and perhaps China) and the West, yet politicians continue to escalate tensions, place hundreds of thousands of troops at “high readiness,” and attack military targets inside Russia, even while ordinary citizens blithely go on with their lives.

The situation is without parallel in history.

Consider the following facts. A hostile military alliance, now including even Sweden and Finland, is at the very borders of Russia. How are Russian leaders—whose country was almost destroyed by Western invasion twice in the 20th century—supposed to react to this? How would Washington react if Mexico or Canada belonged to an enormous, expansionist, and highly belligerent anti-U.S. military alliance?

As if expanding NATO to include Eastern Europe wasn’t provocative enough, Washington began to send billions of dollars’ worth of military aid to Ukraine in 2014, to “improve interoperability with NATO,” in the words of the Defense Department. Why this Western involvement in Ukraine, which, as Barack Obama said while president, is “a core Russian interest but not an American one”? One reason was given by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in a recent moment of startling televised candor: Ukraine is “sitting on $10 to $12 trillion of critical minerals… I don’t want to give that money and those assets to Putin to share with China.”

As The Washington Post has reported: “Ukraine harbors some of the world’s largest reserves of titanium and iron ore, fields of untapped lithium, and massive deposits of coal. Collectively, they are worth tens of trillions of dollars.” Ukraine also has colossal reserves of natural gas and oil, in addition to neon, nickel, beryllium, and other critical rare earth metals. For NATO’s leadership, Russia and, in particular, China can’t be permitted access to these resources. The war in Ukraine must, therefore, continue indefinitely, and negotiations with Russia mustn’t be pursued.

Meanwhile, as Ukraine was being de facto integrated into NATO in the years before 2022, the United States put into operation an anti-ballistic-missile site in Romania in 2016. As Benjamin Abelow notes in How the West Brought War to Ukraine, the missile launchers that the ABM system uses can accommodate nuclear-tipped offensive weapons like the Tomahawk cruise missile. “Tomahawks,” he points out, “have a range of 1,500 miles, can strike Moscow and other targets deep inside Russia, and can carry hydrogen bomb warheads with selectable yields up to 150 kilotons, roughly 10 times that of the atomic bomb that destroyed Hiroshima.” Poland now boasts a similar ABM site.

American assurances that these anti-missile bases are defensive in nature, to protect against an (incredibly unlikely) attack from Iran, can hardly reassure Russia, given the missile launchers’ capability to launch offensive weapons.

Afterword

CHRIS WRIGHT does a good job presenting the crisis of Washington's bat-sh*t crazy insistence on a game of nuclear chicken with Russia (and China at the same time, let's not forget). His concluding observation: "It is downright puzzling that millions of people aren’t protesting in the streets every day to deescalate the crisis and pull civilization back from the brink" is right on the money, too-- such protests ARE what should be happening.

The continued lurching of the headless Biden/Harris regime into provoking nuclear war and killing us all is the most important thing going on in the world. This is a very real danger, right now, and it should be on everyone's minds and everyone's lips.

Accompanying what should be a clamor of protest and a flurry of corrective activity in response to the insane, nearly diabolical, and increasingly-frenzied war-mongering of the Washington blob should be an urgent and robust effort on everyone's part to spread the word about the income tax as widely and rapidly as possible. It is a matter of survival, so that the shrinking of that insane blob back down into its Constitutional chains can be accomplished in the little time we have left.

As Biden would say, "No joke!"

In fact, it's serious as a heart attack.

Remember clearly that the ultimate underpinning of the bad behavior by the US deep state and assorted other swamp creatures lies in the exploitation of the ignorance tax*. Ending that exploitation by educating the American public is the solution to all of it.

After all, the proper American attitude toward the state-- not just as regards foreign policy but in all respects-- should be 1. skeptical tolerance under a watchful eye, and 2. a very deliberate keeping of the thing on lean rations, unable to ever grow to dangerous size.

The Founders set things up with that skeptical, jealous regard, and left baked into the Constitutional cake all the tools by which individual Americans can enforce that "lean rations" part.

The simplest and most peaceable of those tools is the power provided to each individual American to restrict, within the law, the resources he or she provides to the co-opted state with which it would otherwise grow like Topsy and escape its proper limits. This requires nothing more than a little education and a little courage, as is explained here.

Read that material, and then become an agent of change. Urge everyone you know to do both of these things, as well.

Seriously, people. It's time to stop whistling past the graveyard and start using the powerful and important tools with which our wise ancestors equipped us.

*IGNORANCE TAX: An unnecessary income tax exaction suffered out of ignorance as to lawful objects of the tax and the means of its application by someone too lazy, frightened or misled to learn how it really works and to what it really applies.
