The Income Tax Is An Excise Tax, And Excise Taxes Are Privilege Taxes

The first in what will be a short series of "wake-up-and-start-learning" videos.

I HAVE RELUCTANTLY ACKNOWLEDGED that literacy is so much in decline in America that only videos will reach many people. Hence, I have decided to expand my small stable of videos on the income tax-- available in part on my Rumble channel here, and in part on my YouTube channel here (mostly testimonials, but including a few dozen instructionals, as well)-- with brief, bite-sized piece-of-the-puzzle treatments of key aspects of the tax.

Dealing With A Little Tax Agency Corruption

...an all too common irritant which the video in the article above is meant to relieve.

GERALD & JACQUELINE O'HARA may be the first to encounter a cheap new resistance ploy from a balky South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) hoping to discourage their pursuit of a refund by way of an amended return. Here is the relevant portion of the form created by the DOR for its attempt to thwart Gerald & Jacqueline's claim:

The "money line" in this notice is the one I have outlined in red, instructing Gerald & Jacqueline that they must show that the IRS has "approved" their amended return statement/testimony in order for the SCDOR to accept it.

How ridiculous and transparently false!

IT APPEARS THAT THE SCDOR hopes Gerald & Jacqueline don't understand that tax returns are testimonial documents, presenting and avowing to what the SIGNERS of those documents know and believe to be true, correct and complete. Whatever might be purportedly "known and believed" by some government agency-- whether honestly or not-- is utterly irrelevant to the validity and evidentiary significance of such a return, unless it is an officer of that government agency that is signing the thing under penalties of perjury.

In short, the SCDOR is trying to suggest to Gerald & Jacqueline that they don't get to introduce testimony, rebut allegations made by "information return" preparers, or assert a claim to their own withheld property without the permission and agreement of a tax agency (and one which would benefit from slow-rolling or even denying that permission)! Again, how ridiculous and false!

THE SAD FACT IS, many tax agencies are plagued by mendacious agents working within a culture of corruption which encourages and rewards underhanded efforts to intimidate and confuse citizens into silently leaving their rights undefended when such a defense is inconvenient to the agency's mission. These bad apples all too often do not hesitate to mislead or even outright lie.

Indeed, the bulk of what is done by tax agencies in regard to the income tax, in particular, consists of systematic cultivation and exploitation of public ignorance about the tax itself on an unimaginably large scale. It can be no surprise that those engaged in such wholesale mendacity don't stick at an occasional falsity at retail. Remember,

“Persons dealing with the government are charged with knowing government statutes and regulations, and they assume the risk that government agents may exceed their authority and provide misinformation.”

Lavin v. Marsh, 644 f.2d 1378 (9th CA, 1981)

Plus, to be fair, sometimes even well-meaning tax agents simply don't know what they're talking about:

"Anyone entering into an arrangement with the government takes the risk of having accurately ascertained that he who purports to act for the government stays within the bounds of his authority, even though the agent himself may be unaware of the limitations upon his authority."

Federal Crop Ins. Corp. v. Merrill, 332 US 380-388 (1947)

OF COURSE, study-to-ownership of CtC is the pre-emptive prophylactic to agency bluster, browbeating and bs in general. If necessary, a bit of research at LHC quickly yields the vaccine against particularized corruption, as in this case here, here and here (all linked from the collection here), and also here and here.

Another avenue useful in Gerald & Jacqueline's particular case (and in many others of the same sort) is to have a look at what a given tax agency or government has to say when it is not specifically responding to an inconveniently educated filer. See these excerpts, for instance, from this South Carolina site-- the important parts of which I have again outlined in red:

Did You Know That The US is Now Ringed By Russian Nukes?

...this being in response to an insane US attack on Russia's ICBM early-warning radar array. Plus, the truth about election-rigging; and a few comments relating to "Pride Month".

LAST MONTH, DRONES NOMINALLY (but not really) launched by Ukraine struck several of Russia's defensive nuclear attack early warning radar stations. That is, these attacks were not directed at anything related to the Ukraine conflict itself, but serve to make it more difficult for Russia to detect missiles launched against it (and to verify whether anything detected by those systems or others are or are not elements of a nuclear attack on the federation).

The sole consequence of these attacks is that Russia's nuclear force (which is bigger and much more capable than ours) is now on hair-trigger alert. (See a useful commentary on all this here.)

As anyone older than twelve should understand clearly, such bellicose behavior as these strikes-- especially in a milieu of spittle-flecked and utterly false screeching against Russia and Vladimir Putin by US officials over the last decade-- sets the stage precisely for a sudden rapid-fire escalation into a full-blown nuclear exchange. By which I mean that this escalation and exchange could happen in as little as a single hour, and that would be it: the end of life on earth, humans, animals and plants.

Death would be instantaneous for many, and inevitable for the rest as the sun is blotted out for months, if not years and vast clouds of radiation drift across the planet. And this threat now looms close at hand just because the US can't bring itself to admit the truth about what it has been doing in Ukraine for the last ten years.

Up 'til now, it had only been the US that ringed targeted countries with hostile weaponry. Now, Russia has been forced to do the same to us, with a reported 11 nuclear subs off our coast in the Atlantic, nuclear missiles in North Korea and Belorus and some now being put in Cuba and perhaps Venezuela, as well. Russian hypersonic missiles appear to be in the hands of Iran and Yemen, and the Chinese (and perhaps Pakistanis and Indians) are certainly standing ready to throw some throw-weight into the mix against us and other members of NATO (which Turkey appears ready to abandon).

Remember 'War Games'?

THIS VIDEO PROJECTS THE PROGRESS of a nuclear exchange between Russia and the United States. It's frightening, as it should be, as well as sobering and instructive. My only criticisms are, first of all, that it fails to account for the imbalance that will now be present in any such exchange due to the new Russian hypersonic weapons.

Secondly, the video fails to account for China's contribution to the exchange against the US, which is a virtual certainty. China knows that if Russia goes, and the US survives, it goes soon after. So, that will not be allowed to happen.

I fail to understand why those with bullier pulpits than mine are not organizing massive protests all across the country against US bellicosity and mendacity, and making clear to the political class that no one not squarely opposed to the sabre-rattling and chest-butting (over Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and everywhere else not part of the USA) will get a single vote in November.

SPEAKING OF RUSSIA, I can't help but express my annoyance with the persistent characterization by Democrat shills in the MSM of 2020 election-rigging assertions as "false". Especially now, as a number of the truly bizarre prosecutions in several states over protective alternate elector-slate certifications move forward, putting this chaff in the air in a big way.

Let me be clear. Three weeks before the 2020 election, 51 recently-former high government officials-- most particularly officials in the United States "intelligence services"-- prompted by, and acting on behalf of, the Biden campaign, falsely accused Donald Trump and his campaign staff of colluding with the Russian government to present a fraudulent laptop full of dirt on Joe Biden. That is, they accused Trump and staff of doing what Hillary Clinton and staff had actually done in the "Steele Dossier" matter in 2016, neatly reviving all the subconscious animus against Trump rooted in place during the subsequent four years before the Mueller Report finally died without finding a shred of evidence against Trump.

Nearly every significant media organ in the country was simultaneously made to parrot and amplify that false charge by which Trump was smeared, doing a classic contortion by which what should have been a legitimate "October surprise" for Trump's benefit into a fraudulent one for Biden's benefit.

That's election-rigging, and, in light of the manner and degree of MSM participation (in which Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube, etc. are included) is election-rigging on a scale never before seen in history.

Though it is not necessary say anything further, we can add to that the gimmicking of the election through massive verification-free mail-in voting under the pretext of the "COVID-19" hysteria, as recounted, in small part, here, here and here.

ARM YOURSELF WITH THESE FACTS, friends. Don't let the rigging-deniers have an inch of ground to stand on-- rebut them, denounce them, and chase them back under the rocks from which they emerged.

IF YOU'LL FORGIVE ME one more "speaking of" (this time of things that crawled out from under rocks), it has occurred to me, surrounded as we all are by "LGBTQIA+ Pride Month" garbage, that as a society we might do well to be yet more inclusive and appreciative, and set aside July to be "DQNPGF+ Pride Month". That's: Drama Queen, Narcissist, Pedophile, Groomer and Furry Pride Month (with the + reserved for additional but unlisted elective indulgences and cultivated delusions, just as in the other acronym).

Maybe August could be "WMBTCPNM+ Pride Month" (War-Mongers, Bribe-Takers, Corrupt Politicians and Narrative Managers). I'll be thinking about September-- suggestions are welcome.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...

...an important action item opportunity.

FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to which most of the country has been subjected under since the onset of the COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing. The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.

And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):

[Name], since March of 2020 you've watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.

YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has been nurturing in the average mind for decades).

Those things having not yet happened, you should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The Word?

SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to believe about something as entrenched and significant as the income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help cut through the resistance:

Ask your listener how he or she would react if you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the time because people don't understand how it works? Or how about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying the same?

Now you just have to explain that you're going to show exactly those things-- but because the state really doesn't want people to know this, these things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press release. But it'll be worth the effort...

THE MORE I HAVE SEEN OF MATT HOH the more I admire him. This is a guy who is not only well-spoken and well-presented, sober and mature; he is also a guy who has walked the walk rather than one who just talks the talk. You can see some bio here, and see his recent speech to the UN Security Council here.

What Hoh attests to in the video above should be enough to energize everyone into fresh or fully-revived outrage over the ongoing US participation in Israel's genocidal rampage in both Gaza and the West Bank, where the manifestly plain goal is the eradication of the native Palestinian presence in Palestine.

Let there be no doubt harbored over that goal-- the threat Israelis see in Palestinians is not military. It lies, rather, in their valid claims for the return of their stolen lands and reparations for 76 years of grotesque abuse.

Understand that the Palestinians are homeowners victimized by a home invasion that drove them into the basement and have kept them there ever since. Those victims' children have withered in the dark, while those of their abusive invaders thrive in the sunshine-- with the help of your tax dollars. See this for more.

Remember that the ultimate underpinning of US bad behavior is in the exploitation of the ignorance tax*. Ending that exploitation by educating the American public is the solution to all of it.

After all, the proper American attitude toward the state-- not just as regards foreign policy but in all respects-- should be 1. skeptical tolerance under a watchful eye, and 2. a very deliberate keeping of the thing on lean rations, unable to ever grow to dangerous size.

The Founders set things up with that skeptical, jealous regard, and left baked into the Constitutional cake all the tools by which individual Americans can enforce that "lean rations" part.

The simplest and most peaceable of those tools is the power provided to each individual American to restrict, within the law, the resources he or she provides to the co-opted state with which it would otherwise grow like Topsy and escape its proper limits. This requires nothing more than a little education and a little courage, as is explained here.

Read that material, and then become an agent of change. Urge everyone you know to do both of these things, as well.

Seriously, people. It's time to stop whistling past the graveyard and start using the powerful and important tools with which our wise ancestors equipped us.
