BACK ON THE FIRST OF JULY THIS YEAR, I
was very pleased to post
a
discussion of the Supreme Court's recent ruling
in Moore v. United States. As I said about
the ruling then, "[T]he Supremes-- for the first
time in a long time, and in no uncertain terms--
affirmed a host of key historical and legal points
which most of you first learned here, and which
together establish beyond doubt or dispute that
everything taught in CtC and here at
LHC about the legal nature of the
income tax is correct."
I expected a lot of discourse to arise
within the
CtC community in response to that post,
particularly oriented toward making practical use of
this outstanding contemporaneous admission by the
Supremes of what hadn't really been plainly said by
the court since the 1930s, and what has been
systematically misrepresented by lower courts in tax
cases over the last half century on behalf of
American governments' self-serving misapplication of
tax law. As I also said in that prior discussion, in
the Moore ruling the Supreme Court
acknowledged key facts sufficient "for any
vigorous and studious advocate or litigant to slap
down (or upside the head) ongoing agency or judicial
abuse, or even, perhaps, prior such abuse."
And yet, what actually resulted was,
crickets.
I can't deny being more than a little
disappointed. I know that it's been a summer full of
major claims for attention, but still...
As everyone reading these words should
know, getting the income tax right again nationally
will
heavily mitigate or even outright eliminate many
of the other problems and concerns that make up the
bulk of those compelling distractions. Getting the
tax right again nationally will drastically shrink
the warfare state, the welfare state, the
surveillance state, the nanny state, and more.
Everyone really should have managed to
stop glaring at trees long enough to turn their
attention to the matches with which the whole dark
forest could be burned down which have just been put
into their hands by a Supreme Court that, frankly,
probably didn't recognize the significance of its
words while it was just trying to appear scholarly
in a very high-profile ruling.
ANYWAY... I was contacted last week by
a good
warrior who has just been on the receiving end
of a federal tax court effort to evade the law. This
court, in granting a government motion for summary
judgment, had dipped into a well-worn bag of dirty
tricks to explain its disregard of our hero's very
correct arguments and its embrace of the
government's false ones, hauling out and deploying
one that the Supreme Court just expressly debunked
in its Moore ruling.
I have taken the occasion of this
soft-ball setup to start a pebble rolling down the
mountainside in hopes that now the rest of the
community will see the potential utility of the
Moore admissions, get going with them, and help this
pebble become an avalanche.
Here is the defective rationale of the
tax court judge:
"Mr. ____ offers only frivolous
arguments in response to the information in the
Commissioner’s documents, arguing that he did not
receive “wages” but not disputing he received
compensation for services. He also suggests that
income tax is an excise tax, it cannot be imposed as
a non-apportioned direct tax under the 16th
Amendment, and liability only can result in relation
to taxable activities. We have addressed these
frivolous arguments in Waltner v. Commissioner,
T.C. Memo. 2014- 35, affd, 659 F. App'x 440 (9th
Cir. 2016), and we need not address them further.
See Crain v. Commissioner, 737 F.2d 1417,
1417 (5th Cir. 1984) (“We perceive no need to refute
these arguments with somber reasoning and copious
citation of precedent; to do so might suggest that
these arguments have some colorable merit.”)."
...and here is what I think Mr. ____
should consider as inspiration for a
motion for reconsideration:
Just a few months ago, the
United States Supreme Court reiterated its landmark
unanimous ruling in Brushaber v. Union Pacific RR
Co. upholding in crystal-clear terms exactly what
Mr. ____ argued and which this Court dismissed and
disparaged as "frivolous":
"The Civil War income tax was
recognized as an indirect tax “under the head of
excises, duties and imposts.” Brushaber,
240 U. S., at 15; see also Springer v. United
States, 102 U. S. 586, 598, 602 (1881)." ...
"Therefore, the Sixteenth Amendment expressly
confirmed what had been the understanding of the
Constitution before Pollock: Taxes on
income—including taxes on income from property—are
indirect taxes that need not be apportioned.
Brushaber, 240 U. S., at 15, 18."
Moore v. United
States, 602 U.S. ___ (2024)
Hence, as the USSC just said--once
again-- "income tax is an excise tax, it cannot
be imposed as a non-apportioned direct tax under the
16th Amendment, and liability only can result in
relation to taxable activities." This clearly
means that the characterization of these arguments
as "frivolous", by this Court, the courts cited in
this Court's opinion, and every other court that has sought
to evade these arguments in the past in like manner
is itself frivolous and invalid, if not outright
corrupt, as well.
It also means that the indirect income
tax, which is specifically an "excise"
on the gainful exercise of privilege, as expressly
stated by the USSC in Brushaber 108 years
ago and again
3 months ago in Moore-- in that case "an
excise tax on the privilege of doing business
through a controlled foreign corporation,"
J. Jackson, concurring opinion-- [litigant, see
this for further authorities]-- cannot be
construed or applied as an unapportioned capitation
(that is, tax on "all that comes in"; on revenue
generally; or on commonly-defined wages or other
payments or gains [litigant, see
this for authorities]).
Instead, the tax can only apply to
gains from particular kinds of activities not
conducted as matters of right, activities which Mr.
____ has declared himself to have NOT engaged in,
and against which sworn declaration Respondent has
offered no evidence to the contrary. Respondent
relies only on what it means to be taken as the
implications from assertions made on a Form W-2 and
the fact that money was withheld from Mr. ____, without any independent supporting
evidence for those assertions or the propriety of
that withholding.
Respondent's reliance is
insufficient. Because the tax IS an excise, falling
only on gains produced from distinguished
activities, the law at 26 USC 6201(d) and 7491(a)
flatly requires such supporting
evidence [litigant,
see this for authorities] in order to so distinguish allegedly
taxable activities and gains from unprivileged
activities and gains upon which the income excise
cannot fall, and for lack of it Respondent's claims,
determinations and arguments must all be deemed
invalid by the Court.
Now how an actual argument in a motion
for reconsideration (or any other pleading in
response to the corrupt ploy by the court in Mr.
____'s case or any other) should be formulated and
presented will be up to each litigant, of course. As
indicated above, what I have offered here is merely
inspiration.
But I think what I mean to inspire is
clear enough, and I think it should be enough to do
a lot of good for the unfortunate handful of
educated filers whose legitimate claims are
occasionally met with bad behavior by various
tax-agencies and complicit judicial officers.
It might even inspire some
collaborative work within the community on crafting
a means of revisiting past corrupt and invalid
rulings from such complicit judicial officers (whose
bad behavior can very arguably be deemed an exercise
in fraud, for reopening and redress of which there
is no expiration).

...GOVERNMENTS ARE INSTITUTED AMONG
MEN... Famous words by which the most fundamental
principles reflected in the American Declaration of
Independence and embodied in the United States
Constitution are expressed.
But these words are seldom considered for their
meaning and implications, even by the Americans on
whose behalf they were written.
Here's the full statement authored by
Thomas Jefferson and adopted by the Continental
Congress in July of 1776:
We hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal, that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain
unalienable Rights, that among these are Life,
Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. __ That to
secure these Rights, Governments are instituted
among Men, deriving their just powers from the
consent of the governed.
Let me first dispose of a few things
that might pop into some heads: First, Life, Liberty
and the pursuit of Happiness are just a
representative sampling of the overall body of
rights being spoken of here; government is
instituted to secure ALL such rights, not just those
listed.
Second, the government that is
instituted in order to secure our rights is NOT
instituted in order to secure those rights against
its own encroachments. Were that the case, that is,
were the instituted government expected to be the
thing against which our rights needed to be secured,
that government would simply never be instituted. It
is, remember, instituted solely to secure
our rights. No other purpose is articulated, nor
does any other purpose make sense.
Further, the governments we institute
among ourselves are not only not authorized by their
terms of creation to violate our rights, but they
are expressly prohibited from doing so, as well (and
it is incumbent upon each branch of our instituted
governments to police the actions of the others
against prohibited encroachments).
Rather, we institute governments among
ourselves to secure our rights against encroachments
from all other quarters-- that is, from our fellow
citizens and from foreign persons and governments
(states).
I RAISE THESE POINTS TODAY in response
to threats and harms recently committed in foreign
lands (or by foreign actors) against Americans for
the exercise of their rights.* The government of the
United Kingdom, for example, has issued chilling threats
against Americans who broadcast images and other
content exposing or drawing attention to civil
unrest in Britain as a result of certain state
policies strongly opposed by many Brits (and some of
the harms that have come from these policies), or
who share videos or reports of the tyrannical behavior by the UK government
toward the protestors.
Similarly, the government of the
European Union recently threatened Elon Musk with
harm for broadcasting an interview with one of the
current American presidential candidates, and the
government of Brazil has likewise threatened Musk
with harm for failing to censor content on Musk's
"X" platform as that government would like him to
do.
The government of France has recently
arrested Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, as part
of an effort to coerce him into
violating the privacy of his billion+ customers
(demanding changes in the platform that are the
equivalent of installing a government recording
device on every park bench, in every living room, or
anywhere else two people might have a conversation
or exchange material, on the pretense that law
enforcement can't effectively function under any
other circumstances).
Many Americans are among those threatened customers.
And a few weeks ago, Benjamin
Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, took
ill-mannered advantage of the opportunity to address the United States Congress,
courteously afforded him, to slander and
denounce American citizens for exercising their
speech rights in ways he finds inconvenient to his
policies. Netanyahu called for enhanced encroachments on
those rights by American governments and other
institutions in the name of combatting "anti-semitism"--
a charge falsely directed at people who are only
denouncing policies and practices of the State of
Israel, not Jews as such (leaving aside the question
of whether even actual expressions of bigotry,
however rude and crude and despicable, can properly
be suppressed by government...).
However, despite all of the above and
more not mentioned here, I have yet to hear of a
single occasion in which the United States
government has even issued a condemnation of any of
these offenses against the Rights of Americans, much
less acted
in any more concrete way to persuade these
rights-violating
states to abandon their crimes, or to punish them
for committing them, such as by
withdrawing privileges, abrogating treaties, and so
forth.
WHILE IT IS CERTAINLY TRUE that foreign
states can exercise sovereignty within their own
jurisdictions, and the United States (and individual
state governments) cannot exercise sovereignty
within those foreign jurisdictions, it is the
primary duty of those American states to do
everything that IS within their power to dissuade
foreign actors from violating the rights of
Americans.
I have already mentioned a few ways in
which the federal government can act to secure our
rights against foreign encroachments. Others include
the expulsion of diplomatic missions, trade
restrictions, curtailment of student and worker
visas and so forth. Then there is divestiture-- a
measure that can be employed by individual state
governments as well as by the feds.
All-in-all, the tools by which American
governments can meet their obligations to secure our
rights are many, and are potent.
These tools should be being used, good
and hard, against the growing list of foreign
offender governments. Securing our rights against
such offenders is, after all, Job One for our
governments.

*Violation of the rights of individual
Americans by other Americans is an ongoing problem
as well, of course, but will be left for another
post on another day, although those interested can
find some preliminary observations on this subject
here.

The Virtual Certainty Of
Foreign Interference In The 2024 Elections
...thanks to a decades-long corruption
of America's political class.
GEORGE WASHINGTON FAMOUSLY WARNED
AMERICA against harboring affections for any foreign
state-- even going so far as to disparage actual
alliances if for more than the brief duration of hot
conflict. Steeped in the wisdom of long experience,
and with no personal agenda to promote, Washington
used his last address to the American people at the
end of his presidency to advise his heirs as to a
prudent, productive, and liberty-protective foreign
policy.
Washington warned against both
affections for other nations and animosity
towards other nations (the entire text of his
warning can be seen
here). For purposes of this article I am going
to editorially consolidate and focus solely on the
"affection" part:
"Nothing is more essential than that
passionate attachments for particular Nations should
be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and
amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated.
The Nation, which indulges towards another an
habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is
a slave to its affection, which is sufficient to
lead it astray from its duty and its interest.
"A passionate attachment of one
Nation for another produces a variety of evils.
Sympathy for the favorite Nation, facilitating the
illusion of an imaginary common interest, in cases
where no real common interest exists, and infusing
into one the enmities of the other, betrays the
former into a participation in the quarrels and wars
of the latter, without adequate inducement or
justification. It leads also to concessions to the
favorite Nation of privileges denied to others,
which is apt doubly to injure the Nation making the
concessions; by unnecessarily parting with what
ought to have been retained; and by exciting
jealousy, ill-will, and a disposition to retaliate,
in the parties from whom equal privileges are
withheld. And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or
deluded citizens, (who devote themselves to the
favorite nation,) facility to betray or sacrifice
the interests of their own country, without odium,
sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the
appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a
commendable deference for public opinion, or a
laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish
compliances of ambition, corruption, or
infatuation."
I need hardly spend the pixels to name
Israel as the nation on behalf of which America's
political class has subjected the rest of us to the
"variety of evils" against which George Washington
warns us.
IT IS TRUE THAT BRITAIN shares with us
most closely our cultural background, and is viewed
with affection by many Americans for that reason.
But in practical terms Britain is held in contempt
and treated as a U.S. poodle. The same is true of
the other Anglophone nations.
Similarly, United States policy toward
Saudi Arabia and Egypt can be criticized as overly
forgiving. George W. Bush was famously photographed
walking hand in hand with Saudi Crown Prince
Abdullah in 2005. Donald Trump has been known to go
dancing with Abdullah's brethren, and heaps praise
upon Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who seized power in Egypt
in a coup overthrowing the popularly-elected
government of Mohamed Morsi and featuring the murder
of thousands of protestors.
But while some with interests in the
benefitting industries self-servingly appreciate
Saudi Arabia's arms purchases, and both Saudi Arabia
and Egypt are viewed with some favor due to their
(often) sotto voce cooperation with (or
perhaps, subordination to) Israel, to the leadership
of neither are
invitations to address Congress extended.
Likewise, to neither Saudi Arabia, nor
Egypt-- nor Britain, for that matter-- do most
members of Congress make pilgrimages upon taking
office,
as they do to Israel. On behalf of none of these
others are there
measures introduced in Congress, with the
support of the White House, to punish criticism of
their policies and practices. Only Israel is treated
to these extraordinary forelock tugs.
INDEED, THE REMARKABLE SLAVISHNESS OF
THE US POLITICAL CLASS TOWARD ISRAEL is so
lick-spittle and abject that Nancy Pelosi-- while Speaker
of the US House of Representatives--
actually
said, on camera:
“[I]f this Capitol crumbled to the
ground, the one thing that would remain is our
commitment to our aid…and I don’t even call it
aid…our cooperation with Israel. That’s fundamental
to who we are.”
Pelosi is far from alone-- indeed, it
is hard to name any national politician of any
stature who hasn't said the same or its equivalent,
or wouldn't, do so, if put to the question.
For decades, United States foreign
policy has been a tool of Israeli interests
generally, and the American people have been
compelled to sacrifice their own well-being for the
well-being of Israelis
to the tune of $billions annually.
AS FAR BACK AS 1963, Israel was
suspected of secretly developing nuclear weapons,
and John Kennedy was demanding access to Israel's
Dimona reactor site due to suspicions that it was a
secret nuclear-weapons facility, despite Israel
denials and the prior presentation of a Potemkin
version of the facility to an American inspection
team. See

Not long after these increasingly
impatient demands began to escalate Kennedy was
conveniently disappeared into the ground. Lyndon
Johnson, a fawning, religiously-deluded Israeli
sycophant, was elevated to the presidency in
Kennedy's place, and the inspection and oversight
demands ceased. (In 1986, Israeli nuclear technician
Mordecai Vanunu revealed extensive details of
his country's nuclear programs and arsenal,
including the true history of the Dimona facility.
In 2004,
Vanunu declared that JFK's assassination was
Israel's reaction to Kennedy's pressure to inspect
the facility.)
OVER THE LAST 23 YEARS, the betrayal of
America in service to Israel by those at the apex of
America's political class has dramatically
escalated. The costs have extended to tens of
thousands of American lives lost and ruined, and to
the heavy compromise of the blessings of liberty and
rule of law previously-enjoyed by all of us.
Over that last two-decades+, since
being equipped with the "new Pearl Harbor" pretext
of 9/11, that United States political elite has
pursued a policy of destabilizing and in some cases
outright destroying Israeli neighbors such as Iraq
and Syria whose unmolested presence hindered its
expansionist ambitions and resource acquisition.
Likewise, the US has helped horrendous dictatorships
in Egypt and Saudi Arabia suppress popular
democratic impulses which might yield governments
less willing to subordinate themselves to Israel
than those which they would replace.
Parallel to the severe oppression of
the people of Saudi Arabia and Egypt and the
outright slaughter and displacement of Iraqis and
Syrians (as well as the flattening of infrastructure
and irreplaceable antiquities) has been the even
more savage assault on the people of Iran in an
effort to destroy yet another society which is no
natural threat whatever to America but which has
been thwarting
Israeli ambitions to seize water resources in
Southern Lebanon (by its support of Lebanese
defenses against those ambitions).
These acute losses have been
accompanied by the deep rooting of what will be
generations-enduring implacable hatred of America in
the hearts and minds of millions whose lives have
been ruined by United States actions on behalf of
Israeli interests.
NONE OF THE FOREGOING has ever really
had anything to do with 9/11, of course. Even if it
is believed that Osama bin Laden was behind those
events, he was driven from Afghanistan almost
immediately in 2001. Iraq was eventually admitted
even by George Bush to have had nothing to do
with 9/11.
Nor was Syria or Iran ever linked to
the events of that day. Indeed, if any such linkage
could be proposed, it would be to the Saudis, of
which bin Laden was one, as were the majority of the
purported hijackers.
Couple all of that with the transparent
absurdity and the wealth of contradictory evidence
making clear that the "official story" of 9/11 being
flogged as the justification for all the subsequent
bad behavior by the United States is
nonsense
on stilts, and it becomes plain that everyone in
any important position in the political class has
always known full well that 9/11 offers no
legitimate justification for any of the purported
responses to the event recited above.
9/11 was just a pretext for what has
actually been US military (and economic) aggression
against Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya (by virtue
of the destabilization of which those set up to
attack Syria were equipped with arms) and Iran. All
these aggressions have benefitted Israel, and all
were perpetrated at enormous American expense of
blood and treasure.
All of these aggressions amounted to a
dramatic escalation of recklessness on the part of
the political class in its subjugation to the
indefensibly barbaric little apartheid theocracy on
the Mediterranean.
THE QUESTION NATURALLY ARISES: What
has happened during the last 23 years to change
things so dramatically for the worse?
Well...
It turns out that
by at least 2009, Israel had co-opted the US
National Security Agency into
handing over all data collected by the spy agency
from 24/7 surveillance of every American-- in raw
(that is, unredacted) form. A risible fig-leaf
in the form of an Israeli promise to ignore and
destroy material concerning American government
officials will ease the concerns of only the
extraordinarily gullible over what is obviously the
acquisition by a foreign interest of the means to
directly control American politicians, media moguls
and other wielders of power and influence.
So bold a thing as the creation of a
written memorialization of this criminal arrangement
at that point suggests to me that the same
arrangement (or a very similar one) had been in
place for quite some time before 2009, as well, but
simply on a more clandestine basis. Either way, it
is undeniable that for a long portion of the last 23
years-- and during at least many of the bizarre,
indefensible betrayals of American interests--
Israel has had access to the short hairs of
America's political class and its presstitutes in
the MSM (h/t to PCR for that bon mot).
What do you imagine is the likelihood
that this treasure-trove of surveillance data has
been used by Israel to seize control over (or at the
very least, heavily influence) United States foreign
and domestic policy? I know I'm a cynic about this
sort of thing, but, judging from the evidence in the
record, I'd say: "100%".
Indeed, I'd say that if Israel DIDN'T
use this handover for exactly this purpose, it would
be crazy. That doesn't mean I'm approving of it, of
course. I think that the NSA officials who arranged
this handover should be prosecuted for treason, and
every officeholder of any other sort found to have
been controlled by Israel should be, too.
I doubt that'll happen unless the
mainstream media takes up this story and makes
something of it-- but of course, Israel will have
dirt on those folks, too, right?
ANYWAY, LET'S GET TO THE POINT: In
light of the foregoing, only the most pedestrian of
reasoning is needed to conclude beyond rational
doubt that there WILL be foreign interference in the
next election-- both before the event and
afterwards. The nominating process must be suspect;
the flow of significant donor support must be
suspect; the selections of appointees and the actual
policies to be pursued by winners of elections (as
opposed to the rhetoric upon which those winners
campaigned) must be suspect.
In the end, then, thanks to the corrupt
and treasonous behavior Israel managed to secure
from some officials (perhaps through having gotten
some dirt by other means to begin with?) the rest of
our officials must be presumed compromised.
In practical terms, even if you and I
really do control who nominally ends up in office by
way of our votes, we will NOT control who wields
power afterwards, or how that power is wielded.
Talk amongst yourselves...

idea to defund the state whose reins are really held
by a foreign power which does NOT act in the

P.P.S. I first wrote the article above
prior to the 2020 election. All I really had to do
for this re-issue is change a few dates, because the
problems and offenses described have done nothing
but grow worse.
Indeed, right now the capture of the
United States government by the Israelis and their
useful idiot "Christian Zionists" is as bad as it
has ever been. 56% of the American public-- the
sovereign American people--
oppose American forces in support for Israel in any
conflict in the Middle East. And yet Washington
has dispatched 20 or more naval vessels filled with
thousands of American men and women into the region
to provide just such support.
Plainly, this defiance of the people is
the greatest assault on democracy taking place in
America today. It-- the sending of troops or
providing any support or aid to Israel at all-- is
also
a violation of the law at 22 U.S.C. §§
2799aa and 2799aa-1, duly enacted by the
people's legislature. Hence, this current defiance
of the people is doubly heinous.
But it will go on, until YOU stand up
and say "NO!" in a meaningful way, which is by

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
since the onset of the
COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.

certainly WOULD do something
like that.

FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.

a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.
WRITE A NICE, FRIENDLY AND BRIEF introductory note
explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

Europe's Plot To Regulate
Political Speech In America

Eighty years ago, the U.S.
government launched a war bond campaign featuring a
painting by artist Norman Rockwell in the struggle
against the authoritarian threat from Europe. The
picture they chose was Rockwell’s Freedom of Speech
depicting a man rising to speak his mind at a local
council meeting in Vermont. The image rallied the
nation around what Louis Brandeis called our
“indispensable right.”
Now, that very right is
again under attack from another European government,
which is claiming the right to censor what Americans
are allowed to say about politics, science and other
subjects. Indeed, the threat from the European Union
may succeed in curtailing American freedom to an
extent that the Axis powers could not have imagined.
They may win, and our leaders have not said a thing
yet about it.
In my
book “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age
of Rage,” I discuss the inspiration for Rockwell’s
painting: a young selectman in Vermont named James
“Buddy” Edgerton. The descendent of a Revolutionary
War hero, Edgerton stood up as the lone dissenter to
a plan to build a new schoolhouse over the lack of
funding for such construction.
For Rockwell, the scene was
a riveting example of how one man in this country
can stand alone and be heard despite overwhelming
opposition to his views. It was, for Rockwell (and
for many of us), the quintessential American moment.
In the 1940s, people like
Edgerton had to travel to small board meetings or
public spaces to speak their mind. Today, the vast
majority of political speech occurs over the
Internet and specifically social media. That is why
the internet is the single greatest advancement for
free speech since the printing press.
It is also the reason
governments have spent decades seeking to control
speech over the internet, to regulate what people
can say or read.
One of the greatest threats
to free speech today is the European Digital
Services Act. The act bars speech that is viewed as
“disinformation” or “incitement.” European
Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe
Vestager celebrated its passage by declaring that it
is “not a slogan anymore, that what is illegal
offline should also be seen and dealt with as
illegal online. Now it is a real thing. Democracy’s
back.”
In Europe, free speech is
in free fall. Germany, France, the United Kingdom
and other countries have eviscerated free speech by
criminalizing speech deemed inciteful or degrading
to individuals or groups. The result had made little
difference to the neo-Nazi movement in countries
like Germany, which is reaching record numbers. It
has, however, silenced the rest of society.
According to polling, only
18 percent of Germans feel free to express their
opinions in public. Fifty-nine percent of Germans do
not even feel free expressing themselves in private
among friends. Only 17 percent feel free to express
themselves on the internet.
They have silenced the
wrong people, but there is now a massive censorship
bureaucracy in Europe and the desire to silence
opposing voices has become insatiable.
Some in this country have
the same taste for speech-regulation. After Elon
Musk bought Twitter and dismantled most of the
company’s censorship program, many on the left went
bonkers. That fury only increased when Musk released
the “Twitter files,” confirming the long-denied
coordination and support by the government in
targeting and suppressing speech.
In response, Hillary
Clinton and other Democratic figures turned to
Europe and called upon them to use their Digital
Services Act to force censorship against Americans.
JONATHAN TURLEY DOES A GREAT JOB explaining and denouncing
one of the offenses I listed in
my article above
regarding American governments' duty to intervene against foreign
encroachments on our rights. Indeed, between Turley's piece and my
earlier commentary, I have little to add here.
There is one thing I'd like to point
out, though. It is in part because American
governments have become so bloated with pelf, and
so distant from the American people with the myriad
projects and pretenses made possible with all that
pelf, that we have the problem Turley and I address.
Attending directly, diligently and dutifully to such
simple and mundane matters as defending our rights
against tyrannical foreign states with whose
interests our own overfed Leviathan state aligns
(where a lean, Constitutionally-sized and oriented
state would not) has become unnatural to our
officials.
Were our American governments starved
back down to their proper dimensions, their
interests would also revert to their proper objects,
as
discussed in some detail here, and our rights
would be once again at the top of the to-do list,
where they belong.
So, while Jonathan Turley proposes a
legislative solution to this current assault by the
EU on American rights, there is a solution with much
broader impact and benefit, as illustrated
by this simple graphic:
As shown, the arising and sustenance of
the Leviathan state monster is a direct result of
the successful misadministration of the US income
tax laws begun primarily in the early 1940s with the
adoption of the Current Tax Payment Act of 1943
amidst the tumult of WWII, and after a couple of
decades of corrupt misrepresentation of the 16th
Amendment's purpose and effect, despite that
misrepresentation being squarely in defiance of
the
history of the amendment and multiple express Supreme
Court rulings on the subject. Shrinking that
Leviathan state monster merely involves the
reversing of that misadministration-- something that
can be done by individual Americans, acting
one-by-one, with no help or approval of any
government official.
All that is required is some knowledge,
and some courage-- the latter of which naturally
blooms in the hearts of real Americans when given
the nourishment of the former. As the saying goes,
America is the Land of the Free because it is the
Home of the Brave.
CtC provides that knowledge, showing
definitively that the Founders and Framers set this
country up in the foreknowledge of the inevitable
tendency of every state toward centralization,
swollen growth and despotism. Those brilliant and
liberty-loving men baked into the Constitutional
cake all the tools by which individual Americans can
stem or reverse those destructive and despotic
tendencies.
The simplest and most peaceable of
those tools is the power provided to each individual
American to restrict the resources
he or she provides to the ambitious state with which
it would otherwise grow like Topsy and escape its
proper limits. This requires nothing more than a
little education and a little courage, as is
explained
here.
Read that material, and then become an
agent of change. Urge everyone you know to do both
of these things, as well.
Seriously, people. It's time to stop
whistling past the graveyard and start using the
powerful and important tools with which our wise
ancestors equipped us.

On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
