US Designations Of
"Terrorists" Are Interfering With
Everyone's Speech Rights
...and with our foreign policy, as well.
LET'S START THIS DISCUSSION with a
couple of hard and fast Constitutional
specifications:
All legislative Powers herein granted
shall be vested in a Congress of the United States,
which shall consist of a Senate and House of
Representatives.
US Constitution, Article I, Section
1
Congress shall make no law ...
abridging the freedom of speech ...
US Constitution, Amendment
I
Before he enter on the Execution of
his Office, [the President] shall take the following
Oath or Affirmation: -"I do solemnly swear (or
affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of
the President of the Unites States, and will to the
best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the
Constitution of the United States."

before mentioned, and the Members of the several
State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial
Officers, both of the United States and of the
several States, shall be bound by Oath or
Affirmation, to support this Constitution...

Per these specifications, Congress can
pass no law by virtue of which speech rights can be
abridged (that is, by which speech can be censored,
burdened, discouraged, or punished). Nor can
Congress empower the executive (which has no
legislative powers of its own) to abridge-- or
countenance the abridgement of-- speech rights of
anyone, anywhere.
This doesn't just mean that no law can
be passed which expressly targets speech; it also
means that no law can be passed by operation of
which speech rights are abridged, whether as an
intended result or as an (allegedly or honestly)
inadvertent byproduct of such law's operation.
Further, keep in mind that the
President-- and thus, the executive branch
generally-- has no Constitutional delegation of
authority whatever to act in the name of "national
security" or to conduct foreign policy. All such
powers are granted by laws enacted by Congress. And
Congress can make no law abridging the freedom of
speech.
Therefore,
No "national security" plan, interest
or other policy objective can make lawful any
abridgement of speech. If the abridgment of speech
would be a consequence of any element of such a
plan, interest or objective, then that element is
unlawful.
No alliance or treaty or other foreign
policy structure or objective by which speech can be
abridged can be given the force of law or
countenanced by any American court.
In fact, not only can the executive not
authorize any abridgement of speech itself, but by
virtue of their respective oaths of office, both the
executive and the judiciary are required to
proactively reject and refuse to abridge, or
countenance the abridgment of, speech rights-- even
if Congress violates the First Amendment and
purports to authorize such abridgement.
STEPPING BACK A LITTLE, NONE OF THE
FOREGOING is confined to Americans. The prohibition
of the abridgement of speech rights is a prohibition
laid on government, not a protection afforded to
speakers, and particularly not just certain
speakers.
A law abridging the speech of aliens on
American soil, and ONLY aliens, would STILL be a law
abridging the freedom of speech. Congress is
prohibited from passing any such law, full stop.
Likewise, Congress is prohibited from
passing any law that abridges (or permits, or
incidentally results in, the abridgement of) the
freedom of speech outside the USA, as well, such as
on US military bases or other such facilities.
Simply but accurately put, if you're
within US jurisdiction, no government authority can
abridge your speech rights.
This is so even if your speech makes
other people cry (whether from hurt or from
frustration at the prospect of thwarted ambitions).
It is so even if you're a "terrorist". And, of
course, it is so when you are simply a supporter of
a "designated terrorist organization" (or are merely
deemed to be a supporter of a "designated
terrorist organization" because you oppose a group
or policy which that "designated terrorist
organization" opposes, or by which it is opposed).
And yet, the current Trump executive
branch is at this time detaining a lawful permanent
resident of the USA-- Mahmoud Khalil-- just for
having exercised his speech right in protesting
against support for Israel by Columbia University,
at which Khalil is a graduate student due to receive
a masters degree in May.
Khalil is married to an American woman
currently pregnant with his child, and emigrated to
the United States a year or more prior to the
beginning of the Israeli massacres in Gaza that led
to the protest activities the Trump administration
is using at its pretext for attacking Khalil. Trump
argues that because the man's speech supports of the
aims of a group designated a "terrorist
organization" by... well, by Trump (and because--
the administration implausibly asserts-- Khalil came
to the US for the purpose of such protests), his
speech can be punished with green-card revocation
and deportation.
AS SHOWN ABOVE, this detention and
looming deportation action by the Trump
administration is blatantly unconstitutional-- which
is to say, illegal. The Constitution is the supreme
law of the land, and this action by the Trump
administration violates it. Hence, it is among the
most supremely illegal acts possible.
The sordid fact is, the laws by which
the executive is authorized to designate certain
groups to be "terrorist organizations" are entirely
unconstitutional insofar as such a designation is
relied upon as authorization to abridge anyone's
speech rights (or other inherent rights, including
travel, assembly, trade, and so forth), such as now,
in the case of Khalil.
And frankly, other than allowing for
the equally-illegal
due-process-free freezing of assets belonging to
organizations designated as "terrorist", such
abridgements are the exclusive purpose of such laws.
"Designation of Terrorist Organization"
laws are political weapons. They are meant to chill
expressions in America on behalf of foreign groups
which are problematic to the current
administration's policy objectives (or those of its
clients, cronies, or puppet masters).
Such designations are stigmata by which
all Americans are to be guided in public discourse,
making risky any favorable-- or even merely
objective-- words concerning those so labeled, and
making them targets of Orwellian "two minute hates"
in the presstitute media. By these effects, truth
can be much more readily overcome by narrative
management beneficial to the agenda of those with
their hands on the levers of state power.
This latter narrative-over-truth effect
on public discourse can be leveraged into
rationalizing further illegal infringements on
rights, such as by coercing universities and other
institutions into becoming speech police on behalf
of the state operators' agenda. This is currently
being done by the Trump administration through the
withholding of federal grants and other resources to
colleges and universities that fail to suppress
anti-Israel speech amongst their students and
faculty.
In turn, the milieu thus generated has
a suppressive effect on the foreign policy of
everyone except the state operators (which, again,
really means the foreign policy of the clients,
cronies and puppet masters of the state operators).
The Columbia University protest events which were
the focus of Mahmoud Khalil's stigmatized activities
are a case in point.
Khalil, and the huge number of students
and faculty in agreement with him, have been
protesting Columbia's investments in Israel, which
serve to help facilitate the Israeli massacre of
Palestinians and ongoing theft of Palestinian land.
These investments are made, in part, with tuition
money paid by those students.
The foreign policy of these activist
students and faculty members includes discouraging,
and refusing to fund, apartheid and genocide. But
those running the Trump administration favor those
crimes, at least when committed by Israelis against
Palestinians, and use the contrivance of designating
those directly resisting Israel's crimes (Hamas,
Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps,
etc.) as "terrorist organizations" as justification
for thwarting those who are trying, as is their
right, to effect their contrary (and much more
admirable) policies.
HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE: No country--
Israel or any other-- in part or in its entirety, is
worth the sacrifice or corruption of a single word
of the US Constitution. This latest defiance of the
Constitution's proscriptions by the Trump
administration comes on top of a long series of
similar Israel-centric assaults on the First
Amendment especially.
It also comes on top of persistent
executive branch violations on behalf of Israel of a
federal law prohibiting military and financial aid
to any foreign state in possession of nuclear
weapons outside of the supervision of the
International Atomic Energy Agency,
as
detailed here-- violations which implicate
another specific Constitutional provision beyond
those previously mentioned:
[The President] shall take
care that the laws be faithfully executed ...
US Constitution, Article
II, Section 3
Whether occasioned by bribery or by the
indulgence or exploitation of religious (and other)
sentiments, subversion of American interests and
American law has been decidedly more pronounced and
more harmful on behalf of Israel than any other
foreign beneficiary. At this point it can safely be
said that it has gone too far.
Mahmoud Khalil's foreign policy is more
in America's interest than is Donald Trump's, and in
any event, Khalil's right to that policy, and to
express himself as he sees fit without
Constitution-violating abridgement by the state,
trumps the Trump administration's false claims of
authority to trample those rights.
Trump must stand down and Khalil must
go free. It is OUR Constitution that is at stake.

THE FACT IS, ONLY A REAL TAKE-DOWN of
Constitution-defying Leviathan by the American people directly will
deliver us from the evil that our past
century-and-a-quarter of sleeping at the wheel has
allowed to take root and grow like Topsy into its
now 8,000 lb. gorilla stature. And only starving the
beast will accomplish that take-down, peacefully.
As experience has endlessly shown,
attempts to reform that 8,000 lb. gorilla into a smaller,
humble and obedient version will always fail. The
entrenched institutional operators, which reform
efforts-- even while underway-- invariably leave
largely in place, will act in their own interests.
We are left with, at best, a yet-more distorted and
pathological caricature of the Founders' and
Framers' bequest to their posterity than the one
which prompted the reform effort.
The disciplinary mechanism built into
the US Constitution as revealed by
CtC is the only answer.
Hence, I repeat my question
posed
in the last two newsletters: In light of the revelatory
fireworks setting the sky aglow over the last few
months, with the American people freshly awakened
to deep and wide government misbehavior on an epic
scale, isn't this a good time to vigorously share the news that the
longest-running of such scams, and the one most diligently
concealed and defended, has been the pretense that
the income tax reaches every economic activity?
Isn't this a good time to explain to
people the simple,
infinitely-well-supported-in-the-law fact that
really, the tax is limited to gains from specialized
activities to which the federal government is
effectively connected, and that all their lives,
Americans have been tricked into declaring their
earnings to be of this specialized kind, when the
vast majority of them are not?
Isn't this an especially good time in light of the Supreme
Court having transparently weighed-in on the side of the
truth just this past June for the first time in 87 years, during which
interlude corrupt and voracious government
officials, aided and abetted by private sector
clients and a cowed lower court judiciary, instigated and nurtured the exploitative scam, which
sucked up $trillions without interruption until CtC
appeared 22 years ago and the scam began to crumble?
The answer to all those questions is
"YES!" It IS a good time.
In fact, it is the best possible time.
I hope all of you seize this moment in
our national life to get loud, proud and uncowed--
indeed, to get incessant!
If everyone reading these words were to
begin and continue a campaign to direct all
followers and friends with a simple message along
these lines:
"You've been lied to your
whole life about the income tax, and the truth is
amazing and wonderful. Go to

that truth.
Efforts have been made to
dissuade you with disinformation from officialdom
and other things that will appear on Google and
Wikipedia (and from AI). Smears and attacks and even
ugly lawfare have been used against the person who
first revealed this truth in 2003.

and take my word for it-- the proof of the pudding
is in the eating, and this is a tasty treat when you
just dig in. Hundreds of thousands of others have
done so, recovering $billions in property taken from
them as taxes which never should have been.

thank me for cajoling you into doing so by the time
you've finished."
The iron is white-hot right now,
friends, and to top it off, we are in the middle of
the 2025 season of lies when millions of erroneous
W-2s and 1099s and such are flooding mailboxes
nationwide, making the truth about the tax a matter
of acutely-felt significance to the entire American
population.
Strike, and strike hard, and together
we can restore the republic.

THE FOLLOWING LETTER was found by a
friend in his attic some years ago. It may vary
rather a good bit from the tone of 21st Century St.
Patrick's Day celebrations, but I'm not sure that
recent tone hits the right note, anyway.
After all, St. Patrick is honored for
driving all the snakes out of Ireland, not for the
invention of beer, green or otherwise. Many modern
nations could use a good snake-purge,
not least of all the USA.
IN ANY EVENT, THIS LETTER offers a
fascinating glimpse into a serious reality of the
recent past-- British-occupied Ireland. From that
glimpse
can be taken a lesson all liberty-loving people
should keep in their hearts.
Besides, the letter is charming, in its
own way, heart-warming, in its own way, and a very

Anniversary...
SPEAKING OF SNAKES AND THEIR WAYS,
yesterday was the 5th anniversary of the "two weeks
to flatten the curve" announcement. All
that went on during the actually two years that
followed as part of the
COVID-19 fear-porn experiment should never be
forgotten or allowed to become softened by time and
generous sentiments.
I chronicled the whole thing
week-by-week to provide against that tendency to
forget, with illuminating focus on each new facet of
the affair as it was layered onto those that came

I strongly urge everyone to read
through at least the latter of these, because the
whole affair represented an outrageous experiment
upon our liberties, and sadly, many Americans proved
unready for the contest. We can't afford to take
chances like that again.

of law was as serious as a heart attack.

During the assault many folks were
successfully engineered into complete
close-mindedness to any of the vast and
constantly-growing array of evidence revealing the
lies deployed on behalf od the scheme-- lies that
resulted in many, many unnecessary deaths and
widespread ruination on a scale never before seen in
America. But since then those same folks have had
peeks of the truth from many different directions
and sources. Many of these folks will now be open to
taking in the whole picture, and becoming immunized
from the same sort of infection the next time one is
attempted.

Not Letting This "Crisis" Go To Waste...
...an important action item opportunity.
FRIENDS, THE SPORADIC EASINGS of the despotic measures to
which most of the country has been subjected under
since the onset of the
COVID-19 hobgoblin narrative should not be
allowed to bleed off the head of steam you probably had been developing.
The offenses happened, and they're far from over. Stay hot.
And while you are all warmed up, and while others, if
they're smart, are just as hot, I'd like you to send an email (and
Facebook post, or whatever) with the following content to everyone you
can (with a request that they pass it along, in turn):
[Name], since March of 2020 you've
watched as over-fed state power has been used to literally destroy
classical Western civilization and impose a new despotic paradigm. No
dissent or debate permitted-- no permission or agreement sought.
YOU KNOW where this will end up if the arrogant
state power being used to make this happen isn't radically diminished in
size, influence, resources and popular support, and exposed as an
opportunistic exploiter of legal ignorance (an ignorance which it has
been nurturing in the average mind for decades).
Those things having not yet happened, you
should be quaking in your boots-- and you probably are.
Isn't it time-- and past time-- for you to
begin helping to make those desperately-needed defensive changes take
place? There is only one way these things can happen short of a
who-knows-what we'll-end-up-with explosion of violence. I'm going to
show it to you.
When you're done with that reading, you'll know
what to do next.
BTW, REMEMBER, ALSO, THAT EVERY AMERICAN has lately been given a stark lesson in the fact
that government officials at all levels will lie to you and violate the
law without batting an eye. They will do so any time it serves their agenda, and
you don't call them out for it.
If you know anyone who has been persisting in denial on the
truth about the income tax, you know such nonsense is usually be
grounded in some version or another of, "That can't be true..." or "They
would never do something like that...". Now's the time to put a pin in
that delusional bubble.
As the C19 hoax has starkly shown, "that" certainly CAN be true, and they
certainly WOULD do something
like that.

outreach efforts.

(Deceitful efforts to discourage Americans from
learning the truth about the "income tax")
FOR ALL THE YEARS SINCE 2003 when
CtC was first published, the government has engaged in a
concerted effort to frighten people away from its truths. This
effort involves official government websites and press releases
touting an occasional court ruling that appears to be at odds
with some
CtC-revelation (but without details sufficient to expose the
real substance of the ruling)--
and sometimes even more mendacious behavior.
Are the presentations and
resources offered on this site and in my other work of any value to you?
Tim Kendrick has posted
a video
on YouTube regarding donations. I didn't know what to do about
it to begin with; I don't do what I do intending for anyone to
feel obligated in any way.
But of course, no one IS obligated. I will continue
to make my work freely-available here, and in my books for only
the cost of a cheap paperback.
Thus, even though I post it here below, Tim's very
thoughtful personal resolution and encouragement to others is
just an invitation for consideration by those who may not be
conscious of the fact that I can't do what I do without support.
No one is to feel any pressure from it; if it moves anyone to
act let it be solely because it seems right.
All-in-all, just be the sort of person for others
that you would go to yourself for trustworthy leadership.
Leadership is a challenge. But it's not
complicated, and you can do it.

Are You Having Trouble Spreading The
Word?
SKEPTICISM (SOMETIMES INVOKED BY FEAR) IS TO BE
EXPECTED when you're trying to explain to someone that
everything they've been encouraged their whole lives to
believe about something as entrenched and significant as the
income tax is basically nonsense. So here's a way to help
cut through the resistance:
Ask your listener how he or she would react if
you were to show an announcement from the Commissioner of
Internal Revenue admitting that the tax doesn't apply to the
earnings of most Americans and is misapplied most of the
time because people don't understand how it works? Or how
about if you showed a ruling from the Supreme Court saying
the same?
Now you just have to explain that
you're going to show exactly those things-- but because
the state really doesn't want people to know this, these
things haven't been said quite as forthrightly as we would
all wish. It's going to take a bit more work to take these
admissions in than is sufficient for just reading a press
release. But it'll be worth the effort...
IF YOU'RE NOT SPREADING THIS LINK with every bit of
energy you can, to school libraries, homeschool
families and community groups, your neighbors, your
family members, your pastors and
co-congregationalists, journalists, lawyers, CPAs,
members of congress, tax-agency workers, Wikipedia,
Anonymous, WikiLeaks, the Tax Foundation, everyone
in the "tax honesty" movement, the 9/11 truth
movement, other activist movements and everyone
else,
you have only yourself to blame for your
troubles with the tax, and a whole lot else of which
you might complain. It's on you.

explaining what will be seen at the link-- cryptic
is bad; excited is good-- and then send this WMI
(weapon of mass instruction) far and wide.
Remember: Real Americans don't accommodate fog, lies and a sliding scale of
adherence to the rule of law. Real American men and women stand up for the
truth and the law, come what may, knowing that it is only by setting the bar
at the top and enforcing it, come what may, that liberties are secured.

Maybe the Reason the Trump
Administration Wants to Deport Mahmoud Khalil is
because There Is No Good Reason to Deport Him

The Donald Trump
administration is offering no good reason to deport
Mahmoud Khalil, who was involved in protests at
Columbia University in New York City related to the
Israel government and to United States government
support for that government. He is not charged with
a crime of violence or fraud. He is just singled out
for advancing communication that challenged US
foreign policy — exercising rights listed in the
First Amendment of the US Constitution.
Why, many people ask, is the US
government so intent on deporting Khalil? Wouldn’t it instead
make more sense to go after other noncitizens, making at least
arguably credible accusations they committed crimes?
Answers to these questions
are suggested by considering that fact that, because
Khalil’s accused offense is just speaking up, his
arrest, detention, and deportation can have maximum
impact in discouraging people from taking a stand
the US executive branch may oppose. Speech,
assembly, or petition alone, the Trump
administration is making clear, is sufficient to
bring upon one the wrath of the US government. A
Tuesday post at the website of the free speech
advocacy organization The Foundation for Individual
Rights and Expression (FIRE) titled “Trump
administration’s reasons for detaining Mahmoud
Khalil threaten free speech" provides
elaboration:
There are millions of
people lawfully present in the United States without
citizenship. The administration’s actions will cause
them to self-censor rather than risk government
retaliation. Lawful permanent residents and students
on visas will fear a knock on the door simply for
speaking their minds.
If constitutionally
protected speech may render someone deportable by
the secretary of state, the administration has free
rein to arrest and detain any non-citizen whose
speech the government dislikes. The inherent
vagueness of the “adversarial to the foreign policy
and national security interests” standard does not
provide notice as to what speech is or is not
prohibited. The administration’s use of it will
foster a culture of self-censorship and fear.
AN INSIGHTFUL OBSERVATION by Adam Dick,
concisely stated. As I noted in
my lead article in this
edition (also on the Khalil matter, as it is far
and away the most important thing on the burner
right now), the "designation as a terrorist
organization" and associated policies are
political weapons. They have nothing to do with
"national security" or even foreign policy, properly
conceived (and wouldn't be legal in their First
Amendment violations even if they did)-- instead,
they are tools for controlling the public discourse
for the benefit of the clients, cronies and puppet
masters of those with their hands on the levers of
state power.
As such, these weapons are more than
"merely" Constitutional violations (and hence,
crimes of a supreme character). They are meant to
subvert the entire American structure, eliminating
the sovereignty of the People by muffling their ears
to any words other than those which serve the
interests of the state's operators-- making the
People into beasts bereft of their own (which is to
say, their human) perspectives, purposes, will or
moral agency.
This is despicable, and should
not be tolerated for a moment.
Those of us with the integrity,
education and wattage to oppose these crimes have to bestir ourselves,
stand up, and act, even if doing so means making
sacrifices.
JOHN ADAMS SPOKE ABOUT such sacrifices
and the reasons for them in regard to the first
American Revolution:
“I must study politics and war that
my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and
philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and
philosophy, geography, natural history, naval
architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture
in order to give their children a right to study
painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary,
tapestry, and porcelain.”
Adams, of course, is saying that
his generation must set aside its own more idyllic
pursuits of painting, poetry, music and (were he
speaking today) social media and the sports page,
and instead attend to the harsher interests of
securing liberty and the rule of law for itself and
its progeny in order to allow those idyllic pursuits
to be safely indulged going forward.
This wisdom is more roughly (but more
completely and instructively) put in this
formulation:
Hard times produce strong men.
Strong men produce good times. Good times produce
weak men. Weak men produce hard times. And so on...
We are in hard times, even while
inundated by idyllic distractions like no people
ever before. This can be difficult for the unwise to
see, since most people have food on their plates and
roofs over their heads, and we have dazzling
technology all around us.
But at the same time our money is an
ever-more debased fiction. We are under 24/7
surveillance by a state which thereby shows its
utter contempt for our rights and the rule of law.
We are about to have imposed upon us an internal
passport. The First Amendment is crumbling under
relentless assault by state actors.
Elective war-- in defiance of all
Constitutional prescriptions and proscriptions
concerning that subject, and without the least
consideration of its moral dimension-- is a constant
crime being committed in all our names in varying
places around the world and against varying victims
(with the ever-present hazard of world-ending
escalation lurking in the background). Our public
discourse is poisoned by a thick fog of shamelessly
false, debilitating and exploitative propaganda and
"narrative management".
As I said, we are in hard times. And we
must therefore be strong.
Happily, being strong, against what is
responsible for the hard times it is our moral and
civic duty to overcome, does not require us to
literally join in war on the field of battle as it
did for John Adams' generation. That generation,
having emerged victorious but also well-instructed
on matters of securing liberty and the rule of law
made wise preparations to ease the task for those
who would follow.
That Founding generation built into the
Constitutional structure they created the means for
the peaceful disciplining of an errant and overgrown
state such as the one with which Americans now
contend, even in the face of official resistance.
That peaceful means of discipline rests on the
overall structure by which the state is able to
acquire the fuel (revenue) for all its endeavors,
good and bad.
Built-in limitations on direct taxes
having made them inherently incapable of dangerous
exploitation, all the people need to do in
exercising the necessary state-restraining
discipline is
learn how and why to say "NO!" to improper
applications of the income excise, in a legally-meaningful manner and context.
Those of us who have already received that
liberating and empowering lesson need to help the rest of the
American population quickly understand
the
truth about the tax, such that even though Washington remains in
the hands of
immoral establishment hacks and self-servers, it
finds its ability to just carry on with chronic irresponsibility severely curtailed.
Such an effort is easier than ever now, with the US Supreme Court
having just reaffirmed its 108-year-old ruling
in Brushaber v. Union Pacific RR. Co.,
acknowledging the truth about the income tax
revealed in
CtC.
Remember, the arising and sustenance of
the Leviathan state monster is a direct result of
the successful mis-administration
of the US income tax laws.
Shrinking that
Leviathan state monster merely involves the
reversing of that misadministration-- something that
can be done by individual Americans, acting
one-by-one, with no help or approval of any
government official. Each such act makes use of
state-restraining tools baked into the
Constitutional cake by the Founders and Framers, and
each such act WILL make a difference, however small.
Most important, each such act will absolve the actor
from the dishonor of participation in the heinous
crimes their resources would otherwise finance.

Read that material, and then become an
agent of change. Urge everyone you know to do both
of these things, as well.
Seriously, people. It's time to stop
whistling past the graveyard and start using the
powerful and important tools with which our wise
ancestors equipped us.

Hendrickson is also a widely-read essayist on

twelve years before his present full-time focus on the
restoration of the rule of law in America, Hendrickson directed
purchasing activities for the $84 million-a-year
multi-family-housing division of the Farmington Hills, Michigan
branch of Edward Rose and Sons, with responsibility for 18,000+
apartments, direct supervision of 35 technicians and agents, and
incidental authority over several hundred divisional workers.
He also ran the division's 10 cable television earth-station and
distribution systems in four states, and designed and
administered the company's website.
On rather the other end of the spectrum, amidst
these more mundane pursuits Hendrickson co-founded and was the
primary creative force behind a small
board- and
card-game company that enjoyed a modest success for several
years.
Hendrickson makes his home in southeast Michigan,
with his wife and two children. He is currently working on his
next book.
